Friendly employees, very long before getting food but not a big deal we weren’t in a hurry but just keep in mind that going there to eat you shouldn’t be in a hurry. The food was good and good drinks.

A great place to go and sit outside enjoying the air and the atmosphere around you. They do have the most deadly narrow steps though, so if you decide to venture upstairs which is kinda a must, hold on for dear life on your way down so as not to fall. But really love this place for all the little quirks they have around and the people are also some of the best.

Grungy place I’ve been going to late night, usually drunk, for 30 years. The steepest stairs ever you almost need ropes. Feels like the place you can come and hide from the real world and be yourself as no one judges you. If you know this place it feels like you’ve got Cape Town late night in your blood. Not for everyone so if you find yourself here and you’re not comfortable drink a shot and chill the F out. Recommended.

I’ve been going to Roxy’s for over 10 years. It still has a great vibe. Two for one margarita special on Tuesdays. Always a chilled place to have a beer and a meal. It can get busy and most people want to sit outside.

Home of the Ten-Rand Beer (R10.) The menu is a combination of multiple deliciousness. From Mac&Cheese Ball to Cajun Wings or tantalizing Calamari. My tummy has never been disappointed! The staff have an energy of warmth and fun and make the experience exciting and homely at the same time. Also, upstairs has a social pool table!

A special bar/restaurant with a unique atmosphere, very hypster-like. If you're a fan of Marvel or comic strips, you will love this place! I had the best burger of my life there, and the best sweet potatoes. I went there 3 times in a week, just to tell how good their burger is. Strongly recommend! I still have dreams about that burger 🍔.

Found this beautifully hidden little gem quite a whole ago, and quickly became a regular. The staff are really friendly (often a bit extra) and helpful, and the R10 coffee deal before 11am has become my lifeline through the week! You also have to notice the great interior decor - littered with old-school momentos and antiquities, it really captures the "Cape Town" vibe! Totally worth a check out for a beer or drink before, during and after work!!

I had a first date here in November last year. Our waitress was awesome (can't remember her name – short blonde hair) and we tried the crack bacon wings and bucket of beers. You can't beat that! We went again on Saturday night and they were busy closing (we arrived past 1 am). They let the three of us play two rounds of pool upstairs. I love all their tapas (try the mac and cheese balls!), dig the casual vibe and they play the BEST music (old school hip hop most nights).

Hidden gem! Awesum spot with quite a hip feel to it. Kitchen only closes at 2 AM! Amazing for a late night chow and kuier. Two of us had breakfast, and it was pretty much perfect. Coffee, and especially the Health Shot was amazing. Excellent service

Stopped in here for a quick drink before dinner once or twice in the evening, so I cannot comment on the food. Interiors/Ambiance: Listen, this is a beloved local of many, but it really does look dingy inside, and in need of a good clean and wiping down. The tables were even sticky. I like the laid back vibe but cleanliness to me is also next to Godliness when it comes to an establishment serving food or drinks. The outside section when the weather is good, however, is a nicer seating area and as a result, we realised why it was so much more popular. Service: Pretty average if you are seated inside, but we didn't mind walking down for our re-fills as we were on holiday. The trick with this spot is that Roxy Late Night has a TWO hour happy hour every single day.. serving buckets of beers at R10 each, and of course their famous Tequila special all day on Tuesdays which makes it a hit with students. *Recommendation: I would recommend this as a spot for anyone on a budget wanting a big night out! I have eaten here every weekend without fail for the past two months and haven't been disappointed once, which is a lot to say for a Cape Town restaurant. The nachos are by far the best thing on the menu followed very closely by the stacks and wings. Besides the food, the great part about Roxys is that you can eat and drink to your hearts content and it won't make a huge dent in your wallet. I highly recommend it!

My other office/home. Love going here alone as you feel part of the family. Crack wings are a must - I mean chicken wings cooked in bacon fat!! It's a must. Make sure to ask what the off menu specials are ;) always so interesting - oh and becareful they love serving tequila here. Service is incredible!

This has become my default spot, whether it's for drinking coffee and working on my laptop in the morning, or drinking R10 beers and having drunk snacks later. The menu is varied and well-prices, and I absolutely adore their mac and cheese balls. I find the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, even when it gets incredibly packed during R10 beer special.

It's a quaint little taverna with a kitchen to match. Nothing is worth boasting about but then there's nothing to complain about. It has excellent nightlife and seating. A regular for birthdays and social get togethers.

Went for the wingman Monday. Wings were a bucket full and very delicious. The beer is cheap and the vibe very lekker. Shame our waitress wasn't the sharpest pencil in the space case but friendly enough. Also those stairs might become a nightmare. Like climbing loins head, DRUNK.

R10 beers between 4&6 daily is brilliant. The service was fairly good for a busy restaurant. There is a good vibe - It's hipster and touristy. The menu is confusing but offers a wide variety of favourites to choose from. The food was fresh and delicious although they don't disclose that jalapenos are on certain burgers. Nicely done.

Really used to love this place as a student but after eating there recently I'm struggling to remember why. Average food, the menu is trying to be hip but is just confusing, and my mediocre breakfast was so overpriced for what it was- basically 2 eggs on a hard roll on a tin plate covered in wax paper. Our server was nowhere to be found when we needed assistance and when we asked for change responded that she had none. There was also a family of flies at our table that wouldn't stop trying to share our meal with us. Dissatisfied.

Very vibey place, set in a remodelled house with a punk/hipster/trendy surrounding. Provides a pool table for those wanting a bit of entertainment. Watch out for the super steep staircase! I had ordered the macaroni and cheese balls, which comes in a portion of 4. Enough to fill you and very tasty! Their bacon crackle wings are a must, absolutely amazing! Their burger sizes are very large if you are feeling hungry and is served with a small portion of wedges. Would of loved to try their milkshakes, which seemed to come in unique flavours. A great spot to meet with friends for a drink or good meal. Also loved the fact that they close at 2am!

Had such a great time here after a yoga session just across the road. Our waitress, Frankie, was so up beat and friendly. The milkshakes really hit the spot and I would highly recommend them. Didn't order any food, but seeing and smelling the food that others tables had ordered left our table hungry

The fact that this place stays open until 2am is just so unbelievably fantastic!! Most nights when I knock off work super late this is my place of choice for a decent meal. Although the food is mainly marketed as "street food" the quality is surprisingly good! I love their tapas menu and often will just order one of everything on there to share with buddies over a drink or decent flat white. The specials that they run are also fantastic and the staff super friendly and attentive. Big props to Cody who always makes sure we are sorted. The vibes is almost always good and despite the small size the venue has never pushed us out. Good food, excellent service at a decent price. I couldn't ask for more.

I was introdused to this place by a friend on a chill sunday and boy was I amazed. I had a Lady smith Black Mambazo (gin, apple cider, crandberry) and played pool with vibey soft background music in a houselike setting. The crack bacon and peach jalapeno chicken wings was mind blowing. The bacon and avocado giant sized burger is a definite bucket list item.

I would actually give them a 4.5 for food, because we were actually blown away by how amazing it was!! We loved the vibe the fairy lights creates 😬 The only thing we didn't enjoy was the service, when they get full the waiters seem all over the place, you have to ask 4 or 5 times to different waiters to get your order! Other than that, I would return for the chicken wings and macaroni balls!!!

Since Roxy changed hands recently, it's become very popular among a particular trendy crowd which doesn't appeal to me. It used to be a quiet spot to grab a cheap beer or bottle of wine and drink until late among the strange decor. Now it's more mainstream and much less appealing. In addition, the prices have really gone up and they've lost a lot of the simple old favourites from the menu.

The first time I walked in, I was greeted by a very genuine, warm smile and made to feel at home. It has become my regular for coffee and a slow afternoon, and the food is truly superb for such a small place. The salads are generous and packed full of flavour and good ingredients, and the sandwiches are seriously generous and lovingly prepared. A great place for a quiet afternoon, playing pool and drinking coffees and beers, and a fun evening leading into a packed night.

Wow, this Cape Town classic has reopened and the menu is special. Here and there the tapas have a slight twist on normal and the are beautifully prepared. From wontons filled with cream cheese and jalapeño to resemble the popper, to mac n cheese balls and bacon flavored chicken wings, it's just yum yum yum. The service is classic lazy Cape Town, so if you from out of town you'll need to mentally prep for this. Decor is creative, atmosphere and service laid back as all hell and the reason the food is so good is likely because the chef has the munchies. Just order another bottle of vino!

Every month there is a small group of us friends that visits Roxy's for a monthly catchup session. This was the third time I've been to Roxy's, and every time gets better than the last. The food is fantastic - I've always gone for the burgers, which are massive! This time round I requested a vegan option. [side note: they do not have any vegan options currently] I requested a vegan version of the chickpea burger from our waitress, Chantelle, and she kindly obliged by removing the tzatziki, cheese and butter-fried onion rings. She also added salsa and avo on top as an extra. It was phenomenal! Service was great, we sat outside in a prime spot during a busy shift and the atmosphere and vibe was amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to meet up next month again. Their menu does change quite often, with new options, so its always good to check their menu online first.

Good vibes all round. Had a quick drink, game of pool and a crack bucket (their famous bacon fat sticky sweet marinated chicken drumlets). The chef actually came and had a drink with us after his shift and brought us some of his 'Russian roulette' cheese and chilli balls. In otherwords two plates with six cheese balls on each of which one ball per plate is extra hot. What a lekker little concept and a nice way to make food as festive as a round of shots. I liked this a lot. I'll be back :)

What a great spot for after work drinks and catch up with friends. Cheap drinks and good, messy food comes together nicely at this well hidden gem. Decor is quaint but comfortable. And time seems to fly by here. The bacon fat deep fried chicken wings and Mac n Cheese balls are a must!

Roxy Late Night is the reincarnation of Roxy Cafe and the passionate new owner has built himself a serious gem. The interior has been refurbished while still maintaining the best parts of the original look. I had the pleasure of sampling various items from the menu and the food is superb. They have developed something available no where else called the Wong Tong Poppers. Holy shit these are good. Little crispy parcels filled with cream cheese served with a tomato relish. I gobbled them down and felt a significant sadness once they were finished. The Short Sticky Ribs, Baked Garlic Motz Bread and sensational Crack Bacon Wings were just fantastic and dangerously addictive. Then came the behemoth Chicken Bacon Avo Burger Stack. It's massive. I don't know where they get their buns from but towards the end I had a piece of saucy bun left and it was crispy and delicious all by itself. All in all I was very impressed with everything from the friendly staff to the atmosphere and mostly the epic food. Big thumbs up! Their drink specials border on the ridiculous as well. Go check it out you will not be disappointed.
