I love Doodles. I am a local and frequent it often. Obviously love the view and the vibe. Our waitress Cayla was absolutely brilliant, a breath of fresh air. Will always want to sit at a table that she serves. One thing that you have to do is get decent wine glasses. I want to drink wine out of the correct glass.
Tasty seafood platter for one and hubby enjoyed his ribs. Super service, chilled bubbly together with great vibe and views makes Doodles my local favorite.
Awesome place! We were there before the rush started on a Friday afternoon. Service was quick and friendly and the food ..... Delicious!! Will definitely go there again but as I said NOT during Rush Hour - this place can become extremely busy.

Went to Doodles with my other half and friend as we normally do for the Morning buffet for the first time this year...I have to say that this one of my favourite spots and the fact that we drive from Khayelitsha to Blouberg for this establishment should tell you something about it.

What a wonderful dinner we had. The whole family could choose from a wide variety of different types of food. Our waiter, Kush, was on top of everything, serving us with a smile. We had the deep fried ice cream for dessert, and it is definitely a favourite now. Lovely setting!
One of my favourites in the area! A great venue for everything from a Friday night party to a Sunday night sunset dinner. Beer is always cold, staff and friendly and food is always shockingly tasty. Priced great too! The service does tend to sow down and the food does take a while longer when they're busy though...
We stopped past for a meal earlier this week. Firstly, the service really impressed. Denise was so welcoming and friendly. We have 2 young kids and they were really accomodating. And it's been a long time since I've had such good service, napkins brought, plates changed without being asked. I was pleasantly surprised to have our needs anticipated when the place was packed. The food was very good, everyone at the table was happy with their meal. We'll definitely visit again!

Great cocktails and great view. BUT I must say we only come here for the poppers! They are the best and biggest I’ve ever seen and never disappoint with the sauce that accompanies it. Definitely try the mango daiquiri! A must have if ever in blouberg!
My sisters and I visited Doodles in the middle of a sunny beach day. The restaurant was packed and the atmosphere was good. The live music adds a nice touch and was entertaining. Service was incredibly slow but it was understandable since they were so busy. The waiter was friendly and efficient. The cocktails were amazing and the drinks menu provides an interesting selection of cocktails and other drinks. My intergalactic gargle blaster was the perfect beach drink. My sister and I shared a plate of nachos which was more than enough for the two of us to share at R97. My only regret is that I didn't ask for it without tomato and they were more than generous. The ribs on the pizza, however, were awful. That was a huge let-down. All in all I would visit again - it's a great place for lunch and drinks.

If there were any restaurant that would deserve a 5.5 it would be this place!!!!! The service is amazing, the friendly waiters are always ready to take your order or give you space to chug down your beer. The food is always excellent and the specials are always tantalizing! The view in this establishment is my favourite!!!! It’s also nice that they are a child friendly restaurant so if you not keen on having rugrats running around just pop in for a beer in the bar section. Still a place I can drive to always no matter what time of the day.

Doodles has always been so busy. Luckily for us there was a table available on Women's day. It was bustling and noisy but so enjoyable. We sat right in the corner at the window seat. I had a large regina pizza. It was juicy, full of flavour and filling. I could only manage half. To accompany the pizza I had a beer. My family had the steak calamari combo, fish and bacon avo burger respectively. They all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The steak was slighlty overdone but my mother enjoyed the flavour of it. My father was inlove with his fish. It melted in his mouth, absolutely delicious. The burger was big and who can go wrong with bacon and avo ?
Doodles has a beautiful location! I love doodles for their Pizza (The Dood - bacon, avo and feta) with some fries and a nice ice cold beer. But my advice to you would be if you are very hungry or in a rush, maybe think of going else where and their service isn't the greatest and the food takes long mainly because they are always busy! But their pizza definitely has a secret ingredient that you need to try! Love doodles but they could definitely better their service (e.g teach their staff how to be appropriate around customers and how to handle customers that are waiting for a table.)

Visited doodles for the second time around a few weeks ago while CPT weather was still blessing us with the last few sunny days🌞
They perfect their dishes every single time, from their seafood to their grills, I've never been disappointed . Speedy friendly service and their portions are very VERY generous for those prices . There's a lot of value for money and we know how hard that is to get with seafood in Cape Town .
For instance, you get 6 fairly medium mussels for R59 if I remember correctly and their garlic and butter sauce is to die for.
They make traveling to that side of town a little too worth it and I can't wait to pop in again!
We went to Doodles Blouberg on Mother's day and I really want to say THANK YOU. for a great experience. The food and service were superb and the mountain and sea view absolute magic. My mom had an eisbien which she thoroughly enjoyed. I would recommend Doodles any day. Prices and great too.
The food was surprisingly good. Didn't expect much when we walked in - but all of the meals were really enjoyable. Ribs were tender. Steak was tender and juicy. Chips and onion rings crispy (not oily). Calamari was fresh and cooked to perfection. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. There are great specials too (value for money).
The breakfast buffet might not have much variety, but it's still an all you can eat buffet for R79 which is not bad at all. The view makes up for the uncomfortable seating. Overall I like it. A good go-to spot in the future for a hearty morning meal.

This is an amazing venue! We are the resident band that plays at Doodles every Sunday until the end of May. Then on Saturdays in June! Food is AWESOME! Vibe is phenomenal and the staff are brilliant!
Met some friends for breakfast, great variety buffet breakfast for all ages, tasty and great coffee.
Flapjacks toasted, a range of fresh breads, yoghurts, fruits, cereals and cooked items! For less than 80 per adult R40 per child !
Good meal at this place tonight watching the most amazing sunset. Good pub atmosphere with live music and sport on all the TVs.
Wine by the glass was horrid... but the mojito made up for it.
I had the linefish with chips and veggies... fish was slightly overlooked but tastes great.
Rest of the family had pizzas and loved their food.
Prime location which offers lovely views of table mountain and the ocean, lovely spot to enjoy sundowners. Food presentation wasn't the greatest but maybe it fits into the general laid back, easy going vibe the place has. The food itself was very nice and lovely portions. There's a kids section with a jungle with outdoor seating and a designated smoking section inside. The service was good and overall a very enjoyable experience.
Hey, hey what a fun happy place. The food is really good and the portions are enormous. I had the prawns 🍤 so delicious. The nachos are gigantic and dripping in cheese 🧀 with loads of guacamole. The jambalaya if you ask for hot it's hot. My husband loves hot food and this hits the spot. The service is just like Cape Town service is don't get upset they are not so fast. But it a friendly great restaurant for sundowners and fantastic food.

Doodles is right on the beach front of Blaauberg and has a beautiful view of Table Mountain across Table Bay.
We all ordered from the pensioners menu (unfortunately our legal adviser was unable to join us). I had the steak, egg and chips, JT had a chicken burger and CB had the beef burger. (We think!!!) They were served with the option of a very hot and tasty chilli source. We all enjoyed our food selections.
Because of the very strong South - easter we had to sit in side, however we had a window table and were still able to enjoy the magnificent view. The service we received was excellent.
Good service. Good food. Good vibe. Good night out but nothing out of the ordinary. Had a margerita pizza with extra mushroom and avo - the avo came as guacamole without warning! They also still use polystyrene take away boxes - time to upgrade to compostable!
What a great place. The waitress spoke like a race horse and the Afrikaans in laws had a problem understanding her but she was great. Oysters to die for, pizza was good, fresh fish superb and a jambalaya that sent me to happy land. Loved the casual nature of the place. The locals are super lucky.
I go to doodles a lot, mainly for drinks, nothing beats a R28 castle draught, and that's a fact. The service is normally pretty good I will give them that, the food isn't bad, but it's very overpriced for what you get, they need to revamp and rethink the menu as well. Generally go for 2 for 1 pizza on Sundays in winter which is pretty good. I wouldn't however ever pay full price for a pizza for example, R110? No thanks not for that. Terrible music in the outside area I wish they would do something about it, and sometimes they have live music on in the bar and music on outside and you can hear both. There's always quite a nice vibe at doodles
Drinks were very good. Service was acceptable as it was very busy. Food looked better than the taste. We had the fish and chips and pork ribs. Not great and I struggled to finish my meal. Saved by the drinks and friendly waitress.
So I've read some of the reviews before I decided on enjoying lunch at Doodles today. When I got there it was still before 12 noon so only breakfast is served and I decided to order a milkshake and wait until 12 before ordering a surf n turf. The calamari,prawns and chips were all great but I wasn't too impressesd by the ribs. I didn't have a problem with the standard of service,however a few tables around me waited a long time for their food and did complain to the manager. Perhaps more waiters are needed or faster kitchen staff to deal with the lunch rush? The best though is the view that is on offer.
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was very vibey and good service. We ordered prawns and steak. I didn't expect much...but it was very tasty and really nice. Then the waiter told us we had just made it in time for happy hour - Well that made my day! He made sure we quickly order some drinks before it ended.

Simply amazing! From the amazing food to the outstanding service!
We ordered the calamari starter, as well as the jalapeño starter. Both were out in no time and we're absolutely delicious! Some of the best calamari and poppers I've ever had with the tastiest sauce accompanying it!
We then ordered the Moroccan chicken pizza, as well as the Mexican pizza. Some of the most amazing woodfire pizza with the boldest flavours!
The gem of the night was definitely out waiter Vusi! He was so accommodating, attentive and informative. It's so difficult to find such superb service nowadays!
A brilliant experience, I will most definitely be returning and would surely recommend that EVERYONE tries it!
Love the pizza here, amazing views of Table Mountain, kite surfers everywhere. Nice vibe and always busy, which makes it a great place to be at, especially on a Friday afternoon.
Great place if you are looking for an ocean view. Good variety of food on the menu. We usually come here for sundowners and cocktails. Gets quite vibe in the late afternoon going into evening.

There are many places in Cape Town that make you feel welcome but few places that make thing feel like home when you are on the road.
Doodles offers great food and drinks and an amzing atmosphere. In a busy and viby place our waiter was outstanding. Ask for Luke by name as your waiter. On the ball all the time and very helpful in any situation. I have yet to recieve service like this in Cape Town.

Reluctant to return home just yet, we settled on with ice cold beers and gazed at Table Mountain across the bay.
The decor is very basic; nothing to get excited about. Regular pub benches. There were a lot of flies about.
I ordered the hake & calamari combo. it was good. The hassle had a crispy batter and was perfectly flake inside. The calamari was a little tough and tasteless. The chips were ok but not fresh as they were hollow inside.
Hubby had the steak roll which he loved. Tender, tasty and well portioned. He ordered a side of onion rings and ready enjoyed those too.

Starters were the poppers, chicken livers (mild) and garlic cheeza. All of them tasted really good! The cheese in the poppers was real cheese. Really nice for a change.
Mains: dad had a burger. Camembert, bacon and caramelised onion burger. He enjoyed every bite!
Mom had the Calamari and Fish Combo. She finished it, so I reckon that explains it all.
Sister had the Fajita with chicken and she enjoyed it a lot. ( we have a thing for Mexican food... anything with avo!)
And I had the green peppercorn chicken fillet. It was so juicy. The pumpkin that came with it was absolutely delicious.
Our waitress was very nice and the really put in a lot of effort!

They have a great menu but the food is not amazing. Not sure if it is just coincidence but every time I visit the staff seem a bit unhappy. Last time I was here we cancelled our order and left because they hadn't even put our pizzas in the oven after an hour and a half of waiting. They did have a pizza special at the time to be fair. Fantastic location with better views than Blue Peter. Can get a bit noisy but decent for a sundowner.
Amazing food, amazing drinks, friendly staff and most best view anyone could ask for when enjoying a meal. The nightlife at Doodles is also great, with live bands and cheap drinks. I always oder their main nachos and it's so big that I always get to take a doggie bag home for later.
Really nice place for lunch on a nice Sunday drive, they also have a buffet breakfast before 11am, but who the hell is going to do that... well not me. I ordered pizza and I can infact say the pizza is top quality. Toppings aplenty, very filling and not very pricey. The service can take awhile on thise busy days though.

Good value for money pub grub style food with large portions and let us not forget the phenomenal view of table mountain. We had the chicken schnitzel and Doodles burger. The schnitzel was quite average but together with hot veg, definitely ticked the comfort food block. The burger was great - the massive 200g patty was juicy and super tasty. Great lunch!
This is a pumping social restaurant and bar right on the beach in Blouberg. Good food and average service. The waiters are a vir slow and lazy as well as very confused half the time. Improve your ratings by improving your service a bit. We still had a good time though!
So this was never one of my favourite places, never really had great experiences here, service was always slow, food was always just ok, but recently went here for lunch and they totally redeemed themselves. Our waitress was friendly and totally in the ball. Our food and drinks came quickly after ordering. I love the new outside section with kiddies play area.food was really tasty!!! Can't wait to go back!

Breakfast at Doodles. Nice eatery, nice service, good value for money breakfast. Had the Doodles breakfast; tasty and BIG. My companion had the Beef and English Mustard Sandwich: nice, but the mustard a bit overpowering. Will definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.

We were on our way from a disaster of an experience at another restaurant, and decided to search for the "Top Rated Eisbein restaurants in Cape Town, and Doodles came up on the list, sp we decided to venture forth and have ourselves a new experience.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff, and it helped that they have an amazing sea view. My partner and his bestie had the Eisbein and I chose steak and ribs (which isn't a combo, it was one I created) and when the food arrived, were pleasantly surprised by the portions and plating. Needless to say, it looked so good we couldn't wait to eat it!!
I'm not a pork lover, but my ribs literally fell from the bone, and my steak was tender and tasty.
What a decadent experience and we will definitely go back. Well done to the staff for creating a memorable experience.
It's Bloubergstrand, so you know it's going to be a good view. A typical "pub"-ish menu, with a little more seafood options. Not a super fan of the wine list, but all and all nothing "wrong". Food was good, service and then again that view.
This is my go to spot for nachos...best nachos in Cape Town!!! There pizzas are also really tasty. The vibe here is just awesome and offcourse it boasts the best views of Cape Town.

Doodles is a place that needs to be appreciated for what it is--a super chilled beachfront pub with delicious grub and flowing bar taps. It can get extremely busy, which causes service to be slow and orders to be delayed, but I think that goes with the territory. It's an ideal spot to just kick back, enjoy the view, have fun with friends, and indulge in some classic pub grub and drinks. I will say, though, that their nachos are probably the best I've had in the area, so they get my vote.
Pretty cool place, with a really lovely view. Live band kept us entertained - Francois, I believe, did a pretty good job of playing some classic jams. I had the jalapeno poppers, which are huge and tasty; with a sex on the beach jam jar. Friend had the nachos, decent sized starter portion for a good price; and a pina colada - which didn't disappoint. Service was very good as well. All in all, a lovely outing! 😄
Doodles has a great view and an extensive menu. The staff is professional, though often flustered when the place fills up (as it often does during the summer months). We came in hoping to get the tail end of the breakfast buffet (an amazing deal at R69 a head), but, unfortunately, missed it. We settled for coffee (delicious) and a pizza instead. We had the Scarabocchi. The pizza was good, not great. It was extremely filling, however. I think because of the crowd it was just cooked a bit too quickly. But, this is a great place in summer and we are definitely planning to come back for the breakfast buffet!
I went with Adam Cannell last night and I see why there's talk about Doodles. It's a great space, nice evening vibe, friendly service and excellent pizza. We used an Entertainer voucher and got half prize on two large and delicious Mediterranean pizzas. Yummm.
Good food, good service, very viby, thus very noisy which makes good conversation impossible at times. Very nicely placed with space for families and small children also.
Not being able to book a table on the deck area, we were seated inside the restaurant. Which would not have been a problem if it was not right next to the kiddies area, on a family day, so was a bit noisy. But with the restaurant being too full to bother to move, we made to most of it and had an enjoyable afternoon.
My mojito craving was satisfied with a twist from the original, a blended mojito which was refreshing. The food was lovely, for starters we had the nachos (which starter size is massive) and some crumbed mushrooms. I had the calamari with rice and veggies for mains and as the description suggests, it was tender and the batter seasoning very good. I always enjoy it when mains are served with some veg, especially for Sunday lunch, on this day they had broccoli covered in white sauce and butternut. Our waiter was bubbly and his service very efficient.
First of all...you can't book a table outside but when you do book a table you get shoved in a corner. We picked a day when there was a kids event going on so it was quite noisy - we got put in the kids area basically.
Loved our waiter, really nice guy. Starters were great. We ordered nachos which were pretty damn good and I'm not even a nacho fan. Crumbed mushrooms are aways a winner as well. Our table ordered: carnivore pizza (I think that was the name), hake and chips, calamari and bacon avo burger.
The calamari was a good deal. Had delicious broccoli with white sauce and pumpkin/butternut, chips and a large portion of calamari. Good meal however I was not mad about the batter used. The calamari was soft and not chewy though so I can't really complain. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals too.
I would go back but on a quieter day.
For a outing on a beautiful sunny day- you can never go wrong with Doodles!

Had an awesome buffet breakfast this morning after finishing The Gun Run half marathon. Was fresh and a lovely variety. And ONLY R58. We sat outside, sea view was beautiful, hot chocolate was hot and sweet (yum) and the waiter was around but not all over us. The manager (or owner) also assured my brother he would get his bacon which she personally delivered to our table. We were constantly checked on. Beautiful Sunday morning.

My husbands old boys rugby social was held here last night and i was not in the mood but the music they play here seemed to change that very quickly. i didn't get to eat anything but i love the view and will definitely be going there for a chilled little Sunday lunch soon soon.

Had a few meals there on this trip and the hake and calamari was a winner. Even though deep fried, it was still light and fluffy without being too oily like a lot of other places.
There usually is a kids play area, unfortunately it’s under maintenance at the moment. Not the worst thing - expecting a better experience on the next trip once that’s complete 👍🏻👍🏻

This was our restaurant of choice when in Bloubergstrand, food was incredible and the views of the mountain are great. Watching the kite surfers while enjoying your meal is entertaining. Service is also good, they do get quite busy but you can sit in the sunny front section or in the back. Really great atmosphere
