Review Primi V&a Waterfront - Cape Town Central

Very nice restaurant which because it is on the first floor was much quieter than the ones below. Sadly it was so quiet it lacked atmosphere. But the food was great and the service was 👍

Lovely place to grab a bite and a drink on a sunny day, great views and amazing pizza! Service is good, gets a little slow when the place is packed. I ordered two pizzas, one was a California the other a Chicken Prego. The thin crust base was absolutely amazing, crispy and thin and the toppings were fresh and hot when they arrived. Waiting time was respectable, my pizzas arrived within 20min after placing my order. I also had a Hoegaarden beer on tap, the beer was crisp and lovely!

We went for dinner on a Monday evening. It was a huge place with lots of tables so we could walk in and get a seat. The staff were friendly and efficient in taking our orders. In terms of authenticity, I wouldn’t say it is like a real Italian restaurant, but more like the dishes have been adapted to South african taste. We had the Recco classico pasta (with chicken) and the salmon trout, both were good. Portions were huge.

10 out of 10. We had the most amazing view of the waterfront. Our waiter Nigel was so friedlndly and made excellent recommendations for our meals. The food was fresh the drinks were delicious. I just wish the starter menu had more that 5 items on it. Most of which consisted out of livers.

I like Primi because it has a variety of options to choose from. Their food is of high quality and super tasty. The deco is very modern and cozy, makes you feel warm inside. The waiters are all very friendly and welcoming. Their service is very fast and efficient. From the time we arrived at the door we were welcomed with smiles, we were asked were we would like to sit and taken to the outdoor sitting as per my preference. The view was great. The table we sat on was dirty so I had to ask the waiter to clean it. Not sure what the waiters name was because he didn't introduce himself and I didn't see his name tag. The service was quick and the restaurant wasn't busy while we were there. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of linguine I got since I asked for the upside. I was expecting more. Despite the small portion the pasta itself was al dente, the vegetables were still crunchy (which I like), the whole meal was flavorful. My only concern was the amount of oil left on my plate once I was done eating. The pizza had way too much coriander, I mean I love coriander but there was way too much, it wasn't a coriander pizza. We ordered the Moroccan chicken pizza which was very delicious. The chocolate brownie milkshake had bits of brownies in it and it wasn't too sweet. It had just the right amount of chocolate, brownies and milkshake. Primi is a children friendly restaurant and a good place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. On the day I was there they had a problem with the POS system and clients were asked to use Snap Scan to make payments. Later there was a problem with Snap Scan as well and we had to go withdraw money from the ATM to make cash payments for our meal. I think the problem was with Standard bank though because the Standard bank ATMs were out of order when I went to withdraw.

The atmosphere, music and service in this place is impeccable. Definitely would recommend. Awesome views as well of the big wheel

The food and atmosphere are always great here as well as the service. However, this time, I asked for water, and I'm still waiting for it. It is a bit cold where we were sitting. Make sure you dress warm in winter. We didn't wait long for our food either. I will always recommend Primi, but I am not sure what happened with the service.

We went for a light snack. Sat outside on the deck because the weather was awesome and it was just after sunset. Atmosphere was great. Place wasn't crowded. Our waiter was charming and made sure we got our food promptly. And the food....well it tasted even better than it looks...

Popped in for some dessert this evening for the kids. I must say the place was buzzing. Staff were very busy, but you could see they were on top of their game, lots of management presence as well. Ordered the cheesecake and malva for the kids. Both were really delicious. I really want to go back for the food.

Pasta was initially dry but when they replaced it, it was really tasty and good!

Not my typical choice of a place to eat but my son was craving spaghetti bolognese and out of all places, it was a safer choice and we were in the mall. I was surprised the food was actually good. The pastas was cooked al dente and good amount of sauces. Good portion sizes and my prawn pasta dish was juicy (not mushy prawns) the only negative why I gave it a 4-star for food was that the bolognese had really little mince meats and little light in flavours. For the price, you can't complain and at the end, my son was happy. The zucchini fries were my favourite. Crispy on the outside and chewable inside. As mentioned, the prices aren't bad. It's affordable and it is inside V&A Waterfront. We ordered drinks that's less than R50 a person. The servers looked happy and joyful, making the dining experience more memorable.
