Rhodes Memorial Restaurant & Tea Garden - Cape Town Central - Photo album

Sad about the restaurant that burnt down, but such beautiful views! Always nice to walk around and hike from Rhodes mem to Newlands or vice-versa.
Nice and peaceful spot to view the city and surrounds. I haven’t been for 14 years and the grounds are not looked after at all. The monument still looks great
Epic lions. The statues are incredible. The detail to the memorial is plain and simple, yet cool. Like the drains on the top are mini lion heads.
Mark Twain perhaps summed up Cecil Rhodes best when he said "I admire him, I frankly confess it; and when his time comes I shall buy a piece of the rope for a keepsake." Some people come to pay their respects to a legendary powerhouse, some to spit on a human rights criminal, and others comes for t
Beautiful views of the city, mountaind and beaches.
We actually went for a hike, but the memorial was also fun. There was a restaurant but it burned down a while back. There is even a old empty zoo! Lots of exploring to do!
Beautiful views and good food. We arrived early so the restaurant was not busy and we received our food very quickly and it was very nice as well. I had the English breakfast and it was good. The scone was huge and very nice. We all enjoyed our food and coffees. Very good coffee. Keep it up
A beautiful place to take a walk and connect with nature. If you are in the area, you should definitely make a visit
Historical scenery. Very beautiful. The views are breath taking. And a whole vibe for some amazing shots or even scenes! Has a mini van tuck shop which is convenient and hiking trails too.
This is a must visit landmark in Cape Town! Situated just above the world-famous University of Cape Town (UCT) and within the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, visiting Rhodes Memorialis almost a spiritual experience. Dedicated to Cecil John Rhodes, the memorial is steeped in rich history and architec
Excellent experience! Fabulous food! I took my family who were visiting from out of town through and we were so glad we did! View of Cape Town leafy suburbs below, airport in the distance and beach to the left, this made a feast for the eyes as well as the tummy! Warning, the portion sizes are incre
Stumbled upon the memorial while on a hike up the mountain. Quite pretty, bigger than expected and wonderful views. Would be nice if they cleaned up the take away bags stuffed away in the crevices and kept the knowledge board legible.
Such amazing views right at the Rhodes memorial, you can see both oceans from the view, which is quite accessible and just past an amazing drive to get there. The restaurant has a large variety of food, loads I still want to try. They even serve some cocktails. Had a great mojito there. Nice place,
Its a good starting point from to hike up to Devils peak. Have some challenging steep climes but my 10year old son was able to do it. We came down by road at table mountain and jog our way back on mostly disused tar road. Open from very early in the morning and best part is that it's totally FREE!!
Last visited Many years ago - good memories - great view and love the columms an lions
Sad to see how unshaded it is since the last savage fire but it's making a come back slowly. The restaurant is sorely missed. Good to be out in nature.
Great food with a variety of options from the usual to great local cuisine like curry, boboetie and Malva pudding. The views are spectacular especially on a crisp winters day. From a cozy interior to gorgeous outdoor seating it never disappoints.
