Fat cactus is always a good bet, you can’t go wrong with a moggyrita and the pulled pork tacos are my all time favourite!
Vibe is great, you can watch sportsball if that’s your thing, and the food and service are good.
Stopped here as part of the Burger Brews beer route. Had some Rosebank beer, and they had a special of free small nachos when you order a portion of chilli poppers.
These poppers were really good. Nicely stuffed and a really good batter. Nachos were great as well. Place has a really nice vibe and service was excellent.
Awesome vibe. Youthful, fun and fresh. Tangy Mexican flavors with a kick. Food is extremely filling. Place is quite loud and crowded though. Enjoyed the pulled pork quesadillas and the beef tacos.
Great vibe, usually Mexican is heavy in one of the four main elements but here their dishes are perfectly well balanced flavors of proteins, spices, cheeses and veg mix’s .
Fat Cactus has a really good vibe. There's indoor and outdoor seating, is great for groups, however, can get a bit loud. This is a perfect place to catch up with friends - they have a pretty good happy hour. The food is really good. I ordered the Chicken Fajita and it was delicious. My party ordered various items and everything looked delicious and fresh. The service is really good, we were quickly seated and one of the best there !!!
One word, nachos... These are some of my favorite nachos and the pitcher of margaritas doesn’t hurt. A great little spot on Park street in Gardens, nice vibe in the area and good food and drinks here.
What a lovely lovely place. We are visiting SA from India, have been to Fat Cactus twice already. Just love the vibe here. The menu and the food is lip smacking and clearly says that it is made with love and that they care.
Also, the service is amazing i especially liked the cool guy with glasses, he made our visit very pleasant and that dragged us there again.
Highly recommended!!
One of the best nachos in Cape Town!!!! The service was quick and friendly! Really awesome vibe and cosy from the cold and wet outside. Will definitely be back!*
Love Fat Cactus! Great place, great vibe. Food is good and the staff are very friendly. Their Gingerbread tequila is amazing! And they now have Gin and Tonic slushies. Only improvement... the frozen margarita jars... its too sweet, not the best.
Went with a group of about 20 people. Such a great young vibe, especially since the World Cup was on.
Food was delicious, packed with flavour and portions were filling.
Having a bar contributes to a nice place for pre-drinks before hitting town.
Definitely will visit again.

Was recommended by a friend to give this place a try to satisfy the craving for Mexican food. Amazing service on a busy evening and food was a mouthful of flavour. Would definitely be returning!
This is honestly my favourite place to eat and drink! The frozen Gin and Tonic is AMAZING! The staff and manager are the coolest people, always making our nights! The chili poppers are to die for!! We always share a Nachos grande with refried beans. We go as a family as regularly as we can. Completely worth a visit.

Always a good time at Fat cactus. Nothing like a few frozen margarita jugs to get the night started. Their food is also amazing! The nachos and the corn tacos are my fave!
The risotto cheese balls and poppers are my favourite so is he nachos (or anything with melted cheese!), simply delicious! You have to try a ginger bread tequila here! The quesadillas aren't toasted (similar to other places), this was the only unusual part or the meal
Awesome ambiance, great service and an extensive, imaginative menu makes every visit to Fat Cactus a treat. The special lunch menu was a welcome surprise. The lamb tacos were finger licking good, (it was literally, please excuse the pun). The new frozen Gin and Tonic is a must!
Honestly, if I could change one thing about The Fat Cactus in Gardens, it would be to bring it to my front doorstep. I had the time of my life here. The cocktail jars were on point and bursted with flavour, amazing for sharing with a few friends. The nachos, wow, I died. They were amazing. They even used their "sloppy Joe" in my nachos and I couldn't help but eat my plate clean. The atmosphere is just amazing. The waitors are friendly and the people are awesome. There was even a drunk guy dancing around because the music was so great.
Went here for lunch and a bit of wifi. Had the starter cheesy nachos, which was a generous serving and filled the gap. The service was great and staff friendly.
BEST service yet from our waiter, Niel. (Would defiantly suggest asking for him to serve you next time you go). Thanks for making our experience at far cactus one too remember. Delicious food and the new frozen G&T is great.
Amazing food, everything on the menu tastes great, from fajitas to tortillas to their mountain of Nachos and have to try their Ice Berg Draught beer which is a shot of frozen tequila in a Draught beer.
Really great vibe and a huge variety of Mexican food on the menu. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Vegan cheese available for vegan options - they’re very knowledgeable about substitutes etc.
Atmosphere is great , would recommend fans or a cooling system for the outside section as it gets extremely hot. The service is fast and friendly. The corn fritters and jalepeno poppers are tasty and the portion prerfectly sized. The main food items are great table of 6 with no complaints and everyone enjoyed their food. The music is a value add and they lighting makes you feel like it's a special night out.
The Fat Cactus is an unassuming spot with no frills or fanciness, and its claim to fame is "Cape Town's best Tex Mex since 98'"!
They have branches in Woodstock, Mowbray and Gardens (which we frequented on this visit).
Another thing that The Fat Cactus is known for.. Tequila, Tequila!! If there is one thing that any of my hazy experiences of tequila have been, its that tequila also gives us an excuse for bad behavior, and The Fat Cactus has plenty of options for just that! Heck, even the lamp shades are made from tequila bottles!
Service is good, prices are affordable and we enjoyed our well-priced visit to Mexico in the the heart of Gardens!

What a fabulous find on a Sunday in the city when everything else is closed! Gees, cold drinks and great service. I’m keen to be back. Sooooon!!!!!
Easy dining. Fab atmosthphere . Brilliant decor and excellent service . A must to visit. Very well priced booze a bit on the heavy side .....

This place is AMAZING!! The waiter and manager were both very friendly and came to come check on us frequently also they were easy to speak to. The tacos are yummy!!! I will defiantly go back there again. Thier margaritas are so mouth watering couldn't help with but drink a few of those. Hey Mexican place by far
I was very impressed with the service here, specially since the restaurant was absolutely packed!
The food was pretty good, and I highly recommend the Greek Lamb Fajitas but they forgot to bring us the tortillas with it 🙈 The corn dogs were tasty but very spicy!
The service was fantastic! Our waiter was friendly and entertaining. The margaritas and gingerbread tequila are good. The food was hit and miss affair. The chicken wings had hardly any meat on it and its the entire wing which isnt great, they should rather use buffalo wings. I understand they trying something different with the corndog but the mushy meat inside just isn't good, the sauce that it comes with is great. Their nachos were amazing. The flavours and the chips everything about it was great.

I recently visited The Fat Cactus in Cape Town. I was first introduced to The Fat Cactus by my benedict and some of his friends who’d visited it and raved about the great food. However, they had visited The Fat Cactus in the early hours of the morning after a boys’ night out. Suffice to say I had my reservations about the quality of the food… given that pretty much anything tastes good after a night of binge drinking. None the less, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and give The Fat Cactus a try for myself.
Had such an amazing time here with some friends. The waiter was super friendly and very quick with her service.
I had the chicken salad and it was so good! A little bit on the spicy side though (but what else do you expect from a Mexican restaurant). My one friend had the nachos - I totally had food jealousy! It looked amazing!
I had an amazing dinner and drinks session with a few friends last night.
The restaurant itself is very vibey and can get quite loud but it's part of the charm of the place. Our waitress, Lauren, was a star! Service with a smile and great turn around times for food.
I stuck with the veggie/pescatarian options so I had the calamari, jalapeño poppers and falafel tacos. THE FALAFEL TACOS WERE AMAZING 🌮 I'll definitely be back for round 2. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals and drinks!
Thanks for an awesome Saturday night
The drinks here are brilliant. The iceberg comes highly recommended. The food is also tasty fresh and fast with a great kick. Hands down the best mexican food in cape town!
Fun spot. Great for ambience, good basic Mexican food and a loud, crowds spot. Good service good food! Will go back any time except if I want a glass of good wine and a quiet meal. Good job guys! Some time in the next year or three maybe think of a makeover???
Great place to chill with friends for drinks. Nachos are amazing. Guy that looked like the manager seated us and was extremely friendly. Offered us blankets because it was quite chilly. Not really sure about the waitress we had. She didn't seem to know much about the menu and just shrugged when we asked questions about particular items but came to check on us often. Can't complain about this place I'll defs be back 👏🏼👏🏼
This is definitely the kind of place where you have to book a table in advance. It is loud and vibey, perfect for a fun dinner with a group of friends.
The icebergs (draft with a scoop of frozen margarita) are perhaps one of the yummiest, funnest drinks in cape town.
The food is pretty good, though I have never ordered an individual main course. We usually order nachos and different snactus to share. The amazeballs and ribs are my favourites.
The service is always very friendly, and I'm usually impressed with how attentive they are considering the amounts of tables each waiter has to look after.
Something I always find exciting after a couple of icebergs is the tattoo bubble gum lolly pops given with the bill. The tattoos never stick, but I try every time.
Went to Fat cactus with friends. They assured me that it would be a "Jol". As we entered we just saw a sea of people. The place was packed with young people. We were greeted by friendly staff who offered us a seat at the bar until a table opened up. While sitting at the bar we got to see all the famous jugs being made. We ordered two jugs and nachos. The jugs were super slushy and too die for. We only planned on getting one, but couldn't resist a second one after the first. The nachos were you know, nachos. The sizing wasn't very generous. The restaurant itself created a vibe so I sort of overlooked that. Every few minutes people would break out in song singing along to the good music or just singing happy birthday to a friend. Student friendly prices, atmosphere and great service. Perfect place for groups
Always a good bet for a quick bite and drink. Friendly and attentive staff, tasty food and overall chilled environment and way less pretentious than many place in Cape Town.
Went here for a friends birthday and it was a great vibe, authentic Mexican style restaurant with a noisy atmosphere and very full. We really enjoyed it and the waitron was friendly and the food came quick considering it was so full. We got the platter and a frozen jug, we mixed the strawberry and the lime flavours together and it tasted great.
I was starving so I took these pictures abit after I had a few bites 😂couldn't resist.
Been coming here for a while and never failed to impress, great vibe great service. Highly recommend this place to anyone and easy choice for good time
This is a classic place to come for tasty Mexican food and even tastier margarita jugs! I always end up ordering my usual nachos, my weakness! But they really are delicious! The service is always excellent, and I love the decor and busy vibe whenever I come here! I must say there food is a tad on the expensive side nowadays, but it is tasty!
I love Mexican food. The Fat Cactus is the perfect relaxed place for super tasty Mexican enchiladas and fajitas and with a super chill vibe. Great please for vegetarian options.
I love Fat Cactus so much so that I visited twice on a recent trip to Cape Town. Th food is unpretentious, flavourful, huge portions and decently priced.
An iceberg which is a beer topped with margarita is a signature drink you have to try. Tried the mango and strawberry margaritas, thought the strawberry better but they both quite artificial and served from a slush machine.
The chicken nachos are delicious but I would have liked more sour cream.
We also tried the taco platter which was huge with plenty of toppings.
Great Mexican place and dare I say I love the food which is more flavourful than El Burro.
Really good Mexican fair, big fan of the 1/2margarita 1/2 daiquiri jugs and big platter with multiple little nibbles. The portion size is generous and the price is decent for what you get. The service is good even when the place gets full. I really like their corn fritters and those amazeball things 👌
The best Chili Poppers in Cape Town! Been frequenting this franchise since the original one opened in Mobray in 1996. Totally consistent- friendly staff- always a regular for me!
We finally gave The Fat Cactus a try and we were not disappointed!
The atmosphere was great, a very relaxed vibe, and the food was to die for! Really good value for money. The Mexican chicken nachos were my main meal of choice and I was blown away. The feast was real.I have to admit I was defeated and had to take a doggy bag home. Also, those frozen margaritas were the cherry on top of a fantastic afternoon. The service was great too. As soon as it got a bit chilly they were happy to put the heaters on for us (we were sitting outside) so we could continue the feast comfortabley.
All in all a really great experience!
Quality food and great drinks. Always a cool vibe 👌🏼
Ordered margaritas and nachos and was impressed. Reasonably priced and always consistent.
The chillies are hot and the fire burns....the cocktails were OK (it was happy hour) and the service fine too. I will go back, the only drawback was the amount of people serving the masses
T'was the eve of love, Valentine's Day, and as expected, Fat Cactus delivered fall-in-love good food.
The fact that they make their own fajitas, tortillas, etc. really gets my heart racing. And even though I had a chicken salad (I know, boring choice right), it ended up having that longed for Mexican pizazz. Just chock full of flavour!
The atmosphere is relaxed yet spicy, the frozen margaritas were too good to be true and our waitress was fantastic!
What a lovely spot for a chilled date night or even a quick lunch bite with pals.
Absolutely delicious!!! Ahhh and such incredible nachos! Homemade, plus there's dairy free cheese available 😍😍 service was spot on, must give credit to the smile and wit of charming blonde waitress! Their homemade Tequila is also astoundingly good (this coming from a non-tequila drinker!) and the margaritas ooooh!!! What more can you ask for?! Thank you for a brilliant meal!
Vibrant, festive, fast service, friendly staff. Blue cheese and bacon nachos yeah that's right blue cheese and bacon. And of course the famous margaritas. We always sit at the bar it's like dinner and a show. But seriously you gotta try those nachos.
This is my second Fat Cactus experience but now at a different venue. They’re keeping the standard high! Again, the food was delicious - the best Tex-Mex I’ve had in Cape Town yet (although I still have lots to sample!)
My friend and I shared lime & coriander chicken Fajita and it was plenty if you’re not a huge eater. You just need to ask for three more tortillas but you get so much to fill them with that you can easily get by with one order. It tasted delicious & all the different flavours of the sides complimented each other perfectly. It took quite some time for the order to come through but we went at an odd time, so it could be that it was just in-between shifts.
We had a mojito and a frozen lime margarita, both very good. If I get an itch for Tex-Mex, I’ll definitely stop by Fat Cactus again.
The perfect spot to meet up with good friends and enjoy delicious food and amazing drinks, is located right in the middle of Cape Town, with a buzz all night long. From the food to drinks to the vibe and even patrons, this place screams chilled out Mexican. Everyone is having a good time with a bucket full of ice cold Corona and pitchers of frozen Margarita, and then the best part begins.
Just moved to Cape Town and decided to check out the Fat Cactus! Absolutely amazing! From the drinks to the food to the company definitely a ten out of five!!!
We came for a late lunch yesterday and the outside area was buzzing with people ordering their happy hour margaritas. We sat inside which was quite empty.
The service was quite bad. We were served by at least 4 different waitresses and at one point we had to frantically wave one down to get her attention as the rest were all busy chatting to each other. I would have given the place a higher score if it weren't for the service.
Starters: We tried their apparently famous Chilli Poppers to start. While they were pretty good, they're not the best I've had in Cape Town. However the delicious mayo-salsa sauce they serve it with is excellent! I cheekily kept it aside to use with my mains as well.
Mains: I ordered the Mexican Chicken Fajita which was quite exciting... I love DIY food :D
Separately all the ingredients were great: nicely flavoured and fresh. I love refried beans and I was glad that they included it in the selection. The chicken itself was really good, but I found that everything lacked a bit of spicyness. My boyfriend had the Fat Boy Burger which was also really good.
The margaritas are also excellent. The jug special is quite worth it and I would definitely come back for sundowners at some point. The food is also really delicious, it was just a pity about the service on this occasion.
I think this restaurant speaks for itself.. Margherita jugs, a menu which makes choosing difficult, and a vibe like none other! As a creature of habit I usually just go straight for the nachos but on Saturday night I thought I'd be daring and ordered the tacos. I opted for the soft shell taco just because it's apparently easier to eat and went for the Greek lamb filling. It was delicious!! It comes with chillies so if you're not into hot food they can make it without.
As usual I was not disappointed with the evening!
I usually always stick to the nachos and chilli poppers which are my favourites on the menu but this time I tried the chicken fajitas and my partner had the chicken burrito. I enjoyed both the dishes. The burrito is quite big and should be shared if you're not too hungry. I also like their strawberry juice. Service always quick and friendly even though they're always busy. The heaters outside ensure you can have good evenings outside even in winter.

Too many great things about the place. THE MOGARITA JUG is amazing & the so is the price! The food is just as amazing. I've probably been to the place over 10 times this year alone! The service is great & ah, I cannot stop recommending it. Everyone should be hyping over it!
[However, I think they use too much cilantro in their food (especially the tacos) , maybe a little less leaves & cook (blanch) the red cabbage because it's so hard to chew.]
We recently had a girls' night at The Fat Cactus and it was a great time.
We had a few margaritas to start off with, I had the mango flavour while my friend had the strawberry flavour, both were delicious and refreshing.
For starters we tried the chicken and waffles which was lovely although I wish that the waffle was a little more crisp.
For mains I had the Mexican chicken enchilada while my friends had the nachos and a burger. Everyone loved their meals and we all struggled to finish.
Our waiter was great and very helpful and efficient.
Overall a great experience and will definitely be back for some great Mexican food.
Not my favourite Fat Cactus, but it's still a great place for sundowners/post drinks if you're in the CBD/surrounds.
Came here after first Thursdays and we shared the strawberry frozen margarita jug and some chili poppers.
The poppers here definitely aren't the best I've had, but they were undoubtedly the spiciest.
The service is really efficient and the staff are super friendly.
I have never really been in a Mexican vibe restaurant, but The Fat Cactus is definitely worth going to for Mexican food. Loved the menu! So many different options and my order came really quick and it was so worth it! 🌮
Awesome nachos! Lots of drink to choose from. Great atmosphere to hangout with friends.
Parking a bit of an issue - Just park underground to save yourself the headache.
Waiters are friendly, but service seemed very slow today (waiter distracted, barely looked up; wasn't that busy) - Maybe because we were only two people? Better tables to serve? ... Not sure ... So yeah, bring LOTS of people! :p
Today is Mexico's Independence Day, and in that spirit some colleagues and I came here last night for dinner. and I shared their Frida Frittas, Amazeballs, Chilli Poppers, and Pork riblets. We accompanied this with a refreshing jug of their lemon and raspberry frozen margaritas. Our waitress was very friendly and our food was delicious. Always a winner!
Loved this place! The food was delicious and the service was good. My favourite part about today was those pulled pork tacos. They equalled happiness for me. Parking is a bit of a problem but worth the hassle.
Great food, great atmosphere. Service is friendly, but was slightly slow, though to be fair, we were there at a very busy time. Loved it overall.
Awesome social hub in gardens. The food is delicious, the staff are young and friendly. The atmosphere and vibe is on fleek and busy which is great. The only criticism is that they close a bit too early. I love there beer chills/frosts.
Mexican is always a go-to cuisine when you feel like eating out and something spicy! I'm a fan of their frozen margaritas, esp since you can mix - lime and strawberry is a fave. They have happy hour everyday too between 12-6pm.
They've changed their menu a few times, disappointingly taken off the pulled beef which was my favourite. They have also altered quite a few items and out up the prices along with that, which I feel has sliiightly lost some of their raw 'sass' But regardless I still enjoy this place.
The last time.I was there I had the tacos, the chicken was amazingly tender and it was a build-your-own style. I also.love their nachos and burritos.
Highly recommended
Definitely one of the best Mexican Eat Outs in Cape Town - Their Fajitas, Amazeballs, Popper and Ginger Bread Tequila are a must!!!! The staff are friendly and the Vibe is great weather its a weekend or weeknight.
Always a great choice for a relaxed night out with friends. Be assured you will not go home hungry and certainly will be satisfied if you enjoy mexican flavours.
Fat Cactus always makes for lots of fun and will definitely bring you relief when you need your Mexican fix. I love the frozen margarita jugs. They have the full variety of Mexican delights. I would say, though, that they have definitely altered their recipes for the sweeter South African palate, so I wouldn't expect the same as you would get in North America... My advice would be that if you are a big group wanting a Mexican party evening, go to Fat Cactus, but if you want a more genuine taste you're better off making it yourself...
Always enjoy some fat cactus. Another place that requires a booking. It's a vibey Mexican spot that offers some really nice Mexican dishes. I've had their mini burgers, nachos and quesadilla's. Definitely prefer the burgers and nachos as I found the quesadilla to lack that cheesy goodness they're known for. The margaritas are also great especially when you combine two flavours. The service is a little slow but otherwise friendly and efficient.
Ahhh fat cactus, what can I say? Top quality joint. The food is so good - all of it. My favourite meal is the pulled pork hard shell tacos, but even ordering three starters as a meal is a winner. There is no better place to drink frozen margaritas. The vibe is always amazing and the service has always been good - I have never had a problem. I have only been to the Gardens and Mowbray branches, and Gardens always comes out on top.

Nachos at the fat cactus makes me so happy! Love the strawberry juice and the sliders. Much rather prefer this branch than the other. Service is always good. Perfect for a night out with your mates
Absolutely superb tacos! I had a craving and the steak tacos really hit the spot. They were delicious and filling and quite a large portion size. My boyfriend had the chicken quesidillas and loved them as well. Service was excellent and really efficient. This branch is probably my favourite.
Love this place, definitely one of those soul food places! So yummy, we had nachos and burritos and they are so yummy! Definitely have to visit them again.
Had an excellent evening out with cousins 😄
Obviously I had a moggy rita - all 3 flavours in 1 glass of deliciousness!
For supper, I had chicken nachos, which was just the right amount of spicy.
My cousin had the pulled pork fajitas, with all the trimmings, which was so good!
My sister had tacos, which was ok.. It was a bit dry, but we sauced it up with guac and salsa. The service was excellent! Brett (or Brent?) even managed to accommodate our request to move seats, despite being quite full.
Love this little restaurant in Gardens. I used to live quite close by, so it's become a meeting spot of sorts . Big tip- phone ahead. It's miserable when you walk in only to find it fully booked and packed to the brim. I always find the staff friendly, the atmosphere happy and the menu is...
Awesome gingerbread tequila and margarita jugs!! The food is also very tasty and authentic Mexican cuisine. I was very impressed and also loved the vibe!!
Fat Cactus is probably my favourite Mexican Place in the city, haven't had a single negative experience here yet although I was a little disappointed to see that the "chicken and waffles" was no longer available as a main meal portion?
This time around I tried the chicken and coriander [soft] tacos and goodness they were full with flavour and absolutely scrumptious. Try their frozen lime margarita jugs, you won't regret it!
Friends and I needed to kill some time before an event today so we popped into Fat Cactus for a snack and some drinks. We shared Nachos, chilli poppers and tacos along with Moggy Margaritas. The service was attentive and friendly from the get-go until we left, and the food was well priced. Haven't had a bad experience here yet!
Fat Cactus is without a doubt my favourite Mexican spot in Cape Town. You can’t visit this place without having fun – the food is amazing and the drinks are too. My personal favourites include the frozen cocktail(s), gingerbread tequila(s) and the lime and coriander chicken Fajita. Be sure to visit this place if you’re keen on a festive night out.
Good food but slow service and appalling noise levels from drunk patrons making it impossible to hold a conversation. The quality of the food was amazing, huge portions well worth the price.
The food here is amazing and I have not had a bad experience. One of my favourite things to have here is the frozen cocktail. So yummy, but dangerous as well!
Fat Cactus is located down the roads of one of the busiest streets in CBD, Cape Town, but yet provides a serenity of its own away from the traffic and mayhem. Their pulled pork tacos are absolutely delectable and I would urge every diner to try it at least once. The meal looks like enough for one, but it can actually be shared as it makes for a hefty lunch or dinner. The staff are few in numbers but seem to be efficient when they are needed. The food does take a while to be prepared, but because of the great flavour and sizable portions, you can surpass this small flaw. The margharita jugs are a favourite and their array of tequilas is sure to attract a young crowd, making this place have a great vibe on the weekend.
Awesome vibe here with awesome Margherita jugs.
I was disappointed with the chilli poppers that all my friends had previously recommended but everything else was good from the corn fritters to the chicken nugget/wing/things.
Come here for a jol with a whole bunch of mates, maybe for your birthday, that's why I was here and the platters are great for a decent price.
10/10 on all aspects.
This is hands down the only place I’d go for tacos and nachos, there’s sooo much flavour in these dishes and its extremely affordable too if you’re getting both items and sharing with a friend.
Defnitley more for a much younger generation than me.
Very noisy and very busy.
Lager mafe very intresting with ice on top.
Fibrant atmosphere.
Very limited parking outside be here early.
It's a quite nice place for hearty food and drinks.
A cool idea is their combination of beer and Margarita. The food we ordered was good but far away from genuine Mexican food... doesn't seem to be the objective here.
Service was good bur not high above average (parts of our order were forgotten).
Really nice place but not spectacular.
Always such a good time at Fat cactus. The frozen margarita Jugs are just the best. Food is ridiculously good (The chicken Burrito is my fave) and the service is always super fast and friendly.
Been going here for years. Amazing food and drinks. Current favourites are the fish tacos, gingerbread tequila, castle lite ice berg, and the mangorita! Great vibes and service, so much fun to go with friends. Always love the experience!
Great restaurant with colourful interior, friendly staff, and fabulous food, and we had a lovely jug of Strawberry Margarita...
First time visit. Great menu, reasonable pricing and super delish real deal Mexican food. Enjoyed every bite, full of fresh flavours. We were there at lunch time but I reckon there is a great evening vibe, happy hour and all! Slightly confusing American cowboy decor but hey, if the food is good, it's good!
Great food and atmosphere.
The mojito just had too much crushed ice, especially at R75 it should be more drink, less ice.
The food is excellent and the frozen margarita jugs are THE BEST. It's also always full and vibey, even on a Monday night. Best to always book ahead for supper time. The drinks special before 6 is also fantastic.
It was my first time there, although it was fully booked we got a 2 seater table. The vibe is so fun!! I had the cow boy nachos & it was bomb af!! And had a margarita, the prices were soooo good, paid R43 for a margarita in happy hour. The waitress was also soo friendly!
Great vibe, interesting menu, not only your normal options. You have to try the Iceberg beers, it is very refreshing. Perfect for an outing with friends, small and larger groups.
Seriously good Mexican food. Very impressed. The atmosphere and service here is great too. Highly recommend.
Come for the lime margaritas and stay for the good food. Great service to top it off. Would definitely recommend booking a table if you are going in the evening or late afternoon as its often busy.
Great food, excellent service. The place can get a little noisy, but I suppose it’s par for the course. Food portions are also pretty decent.
We enjoyed the starter nachos (nice portion), the poppers and the amazeballs. Loved the food. Strawberry and lime jug was the best mix, the mango and lime was just a little too sweet. Haven't been to fat cactus in ages but was glad to know the food is still top notch. Will definitely be back.
If you're old like me and you want to revisit your youth for a moment or two, here's where you go. It was so good to sit among young folks and absorb the energy and spirit. The food is amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful... and super fast...
Good atmosphere and great food. Would come back for their nachos and tacos. Friend was also impressed by their fried bar-one and ice cream.
