Last Saturday we bought 100 closed oysters from Kyle for a little party at home. We shucked them ourselves. We love oysters and are quite hard to please, so when I say that these are probably the best oysters I have ever eaten I don't say it lightly. Thanks Kyle for the great oysters and great service too! Freshest and bests oysters and mussels available in South Africa. There is no better way than experiencing Cape Town than sitting down and the Mussel monger and enjoying some fresh oysters or some traditionally served mussels with a glass of champagne made from the world renowned vineyards of the Western Cape. This little stall packs a major cultural-culinary punch and should definitely be one anyone’s list of places to visit when coming to Cape Town. For those that do not enjoy the fruits of the se3a, the mojo market has many stalls with a vast spread of foods, catering for each taste bud. Not even to mention the live entertainment! After reading this, you have no excuse not to swing by the Mussel Monger. You’re welcome.

The mussel soup is soo delicious and a must try ..
Staff is friendly and very helpful..

Still waiting to try the giant oysters but was definitely a nice outing at a chilled place. The oysters need some ice but the quality is definitely on point

For someone who doesn't particularly love oysters this was a treat as I got to choose my fresh oysters and watch the kitchen crew delicately slice them open and prep them for me. They were served with lemon and tobacco at this quaint deli bar. A glass of bubbly would've made them all the better!

Yes yes yes and yes friggen again!! I see everyday the time and effort the beautiful and friendly staff put into their craft at this establishment! If I had to eat a fresher oyster than at these guys I would have to go get them myself 😏👌🏻💯🙏🏻🔥

Update from my last visit. The oysters are still great but I ordered the half kg mussels which cost R85 but they were on special for R50. They were absolutely amazing.

So good that after my wife had her oysters she ordered a serving as well. Even at full price they are well worth it. The bread its served with, almost like a vetkoek, is so soft and yummy.
