Review The Creamery Cafe Newlands - Cape Town Central

Kaamilah
I enjoyed the waffle and ice cream but the sea salt caramel ice cream and sauce were quite bitter. Maybe its just my taste but its very different to any caramel flavour I've tasted. Husband got guava and it was delicious! In general quite pricey but great creamy ice cream
Megan McMurtrie
Beautifully decorated and nicely located, also very neat . The staff are such a joy and are so helpful, I was even lucky enough to get some guidance when picking my flavors. My favorite ice-cream flavor is the cookie dough! Thank you for a wonderful experience and we can't wait to be back
Dianne Jones
A must do when in Cape Town. Delicious flavours and I love the half and half where you can have 2 flavours in one scoop. Priced reasonably. Just be aware that you have to pay for parking in the road where Creamery is.

Had ice cream. Really creamy😏. Also had rooibos tea. Presentation of the tea was excellent. It was great that they're open till so late on a Sunday
Takudzwa Chisanga Chitima
The best ice cream in CPT! So creamy and the servings are quite large. I love getting to try different flavors every single time!
Michael Pitman
Usually excellent - take the opportunity to taste prior to choosing. Some flavours can be subtle and others strong, and may not pair well. Half and half is the option to get.
Shaun Haskell
Have been here multiple times and always thoroughly enjoy the location, the ice-cream and the variety of flavours. The inspiration behind the flavours is fantastic and there are always new ones coming in, almost impossible to have a favourite. Pretty much my go-to ice-cream shop and it doesn't seem that this will change any time soon.
Hritik Mitha
Good variety of ice-cream flavours offered here. The sea-salt caramel flavour had a unique taste to it. Pricing is on the slightly expensive side, however it is still reasonable for the portion size.

Perfect spot for ice-cream dates, or for a good milkshake. They have great daily specials, so it's good for anyone on a student budget. Excellent and fast service. The staff are very friendly too. They have a wonderful selection of ice-cream flavours, I highly recommend trying the blueberry and cinnamon ice-cream as it's absolutely divine!

I always enjoy a stop at The Creamery Newlands and generally go for the chocolate scoop with toasted marshmallow topping, but today I tried their Two Berry Swirl on a waffle - absolutely delicious.

Today, in a feat of remarkable clumsiness, I dropped my creamery icecream cone. I managed to scoop it up and run back into the store to ask for a tub to rescue it... and the staff immediately offered to scoop me a new cone. I've never experienced quite so much public sympathy as everyone watched a universal image of childhood horror play out! Thanks Creamery Palmyra staff for saving the day.
Kelly Aleecia Poniappen
The best ice-cream I ever tasted! My Sunday was well spent, the flavours are mind blowing and so on point. Loved every bit of it!

When in Cape Town - have Creamery. I'm so grateful for a place like this which makes it easy to know how you'd like to spend a cheat day, or what you might need when you're feeling stressed out by varsity (and what not). The staff is always an absolute blast and so kind. From the level of patience they show when you are trying to make up your mind (as the flavours are all SO good) to even showing such great service when a little one drops their ice cream through giving a new one. The variety is amazing and I would never be able to eat any ice cream ever again without wondering why did I settle if I could have had The Creamery. If you're in Cape Town pop in. There's three shops and also a stall at the V &A waterfront. Just do yourself the favour. Be ice cream cultivated. 5/5

I visited the Palmyra Junction branch with my boyfriend for some waffles today for the first time and sadly don't see myself returning. We had to seat ourselves at a dirty table as none of the staff on duty were actually cleaning them despite some of them standing idle. We eventually had to ask someone to come and clean it. I ordered a waffle with sea salt caramel ice-cream and cookie dough topping and it looked amazing when it arrived at the table. Upon tasting it however, I found that the cookie dough was really just chunks of butter with some sugar and chocolate mixed in and the ice-cream was more 'sea water' than 'sea salted caramel.' It was salty to the point that it has left me with nausea and an incurably dry mouth for the whole day. (I am still feeling quite ill). After the way that people had raved about this place this was really not what I expected. It's really a pity as the waffle itself underneath everything was actually quite good.

On Saturday (the 24th of October) we went to the Creamery at the waterfront. The guy who was working there (fellow durbanite ;) ) was so so friendly and gave us top top service! Plus the ice cream (chocolate brownie flavor) was out of this world!
Altie Spence Oberholster
The best! The atmosphere is great, staff are so friendly and ice cream the best! <3
Asma Banderker
I love the creamery and I have never had a bad experience before last night. I went to the Newlands branch and I was extremely disappointed. First of all I ordered a waffle. After waiting 20 minutes with no waffle a customer comes in and orders a waffle and gets hers within 5 minutes. I then approached one of the staff members asking her how long my waffle will take as I had ordered it 25 minutes ago and a customer that only ordered 5 minutes ago had already received her order. She was extremely rude, interupting me multiple times and did not apologise once. I understand the place is busy but that is no way to treat a customer
Sue-Ann Zerf
I must be completely honest... not the best tasting ice-cream I've ever had. Not keen on the texture either. Just my personal preference. Great, helpful, friendly staff though.
Michaela Gillespie
After being very loyal creamery customers and always choosing the creamery as our dessert venue of choice we were left very disappointed on Friday night at the new lands branch. The half and half is always our go-to as we can never decide among the great flavors but this time around our serving size was half of what we usually get given. Knowing we would want more, we bought a tub of brownie and cream which made matters worse as there was barely a spoon of brownie in the sweet cream mix. Thinking this was a once off occurrence we were bitterly disappointed when we went back on Tuesday and serving sizes were again minimal. I loved the value for money aspect of the creamery which is sadly no longer it seems...
Melody Gazendam
The carrot cake ice cream is the best ice cream I have ever put in my mouth!
Suzgo Victoria Ngwira
Awesome ice cream great vibe friendly staff really nice place
Savannah Gillman
This is the best ice cream I’ve had. So simple, so good.
Michael Nurick
We sampled a few of the flavours before selecting fig, coffee and chocolate for our waffles. The quality of their ice cream is superb. Creamery is worth a visit or two if you are in the area.
Chevonne Solomons
Will definately go back there!!! Best woffles ever + excellent interaction with the staff.
Rozelle Crafford
Hot cross bun ice cream. should just try to serve your coffee orders a bit quicker.. too forever to deliver
Salma Wadee
I tasted three flavours .. to pick one.. ended up having all THREE!! Your waffles are perfection and you have Great service!! Best icecream in South Africa!
Una Singo
Best place for a cold treat Salted caramel, lemon curd and salt river of dreams will always be my favourite flavours.
Kareemah Rawoot
Pretty okay, nothing to write home about.
Mr Creosote
So the creamery has reopened, but one wonders why🤔. They have only ice cream and either malva or chocolate pudding. Not even a coffee is available in addition. But the staff and machine are right there..... anyway. The malva pudding was dry. It doesn't actually have the sticky sauce which is so essential to the dessert. It's just a little spongy cake that they microwave in front of you and add a scoop of ice cream. So.... very average. The woolies malva is far far better and much better value.

the open space of the little Cafe makes it a beautiful place to chill on a Sunday afternoon just at sunset

Loved my waffle. This is my standard order - rosemary coffee with a toasted marshmallow. Very delicious. My waffle was a bit burnt though, and my partners waffle was extremely burnt, he unfortunately didn’t enjoy it as much I did which sucked because I’m trying to let him love the creamery as much as I do!
Neo Sekgobela
Pretty good waffles, the ice cream is nothing really special but it was good. I would’ve given it a 5 star but the ice cream had ice crystals and the flavors didn’t blow me away like I had expected.
Nadine Staggie
The Creamery is always an enjoyable dining experience. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. It can get quite busy but the dessert parlour is efficiently run so your wait won't be long. The constant changing flavours is reason to go back and always try something new.
Mariska Kruger
Always a winner!! Love the craemery’s ice cream and it’s a bonus that they stay open untill 11pm... amazing on those warm summer nights when the ice cream craving strikes 😜
Rigard & Jeanine
Excellent coffee and some of the best and most interesting flavors of homemade ice cream we’ve ever had. Offerings vary depending on seasonal availability of the ingredients so there’s bound to be a surprising new choice each time you visit. The waffles are great as well. Pity however that only two can be made at a time.
Natasha
Love the ice-cream, waffles and general vibe. Kiddie friendly and a firm favorite spot for dessert! I would recommend for young and old alike.
Precious Donhodzo Chikura
The creamery is the best ice cream in town. I can’t count how may times I go there. The service is super friendly and the menu is constantly changing. There are staple ice cream flavors that will always be there like sea salt caramel, chocolate and peanut butter. And then there are interesting flavors like milk tart and pumpkin pie that feature every now and then. A bit pricey for ice cream but definitely a worthwhile treat
Busisiwe Mavundla
I pop in and out of here in between my study sessions. I absolutely love this place. I can never get enough of the popcorn flavour. On a good day, I get a waffle as well. Which goes beautifully with the ice cream. ❤️
Jabulile Nkuta
The portion size versus the price is not proportional. The vibe you get is cool but the favours start tasting the same after a couple of visits. Over priced
Kev0's Food Adventures!
Waffles, Waffles and more waffles! This is the go to branch if you love waffles and ice cream, it’s be best combo right? Crispy and fresh, with my two favorite flavors, Rosetta coffee and Sweet Milk!
Nanie Thabede
The Creamery is honestly the best place to get ice cream and waffles. The set up is aesthetically pleasing and they have new ice cream flavours monthly (I’m not quite sure). They have flavours like popcorn, red velvet, carrot cake, sour cream and cheesecake to name a few. Did I mention their ice creams are handmade? Their tubs go for R90 each and they are available on UberEats
Sarah Herrington
I’m here in and out almost every week for their delicious ice-cream. They have such a variety of flavours that cater to every taste, with my personal favourites including macadamia, carrot cake and popcorn. The service is always stellar and their waffles are to die for! Highly recommended if you’re craving a sweet treat.
Masooda Abdullah
The ice-creams are always amazing. <br/>But I am here to talk about the banana split and waffles. <br/>Proper Belgian Waffles that are crispy with a lovely soft interior. <br/>Banana split with a banana that's been beautifully brûlée'd<br/>And that caramel sauce...... daaaamn :)<br/>Stores are quite small and therefore have limited seating, but they open up quite quickly.
Browser
The ice cream is nice, but not amazing. Slightly overpriced. The setting is pleasant and the staff friendly. I find it strange that you taste the ice cream with a proper spoon but eat your bought ice cream with a wooden stick, perhaps this has just been the case the few times I've been.
Tsepang & Thapelo
As a local Cape Townian, this is a firm favourite for many years now... they have hand made all natural ice cream<br/><br/>The Creamery is an incredible ice cream venue, unique to the Cape. Fresh, fun and varying flavors of ice cream are guaranteed to tantalize the tastebuds, especially for those with a sweet tooth 👀😁<br/><br/>They have seasonal flavors like spicy hot-cross buns around Easter time, cornflake milk for the cereal lovers and cookie dough to mention but a few <br/><br/>Then there are the classic flavors; sea salt and caramel, peanut butter, Sweet Cream, 65% chocolate 🤤🍨<br/><br/>Great for sharing, the waffles with an ice cream topping of your choice is a firm favourite (and their aromas waft through the store as you anxiously wait to taste test the ice cream flavor of the day) <br/><br/>TIP: the store is cosy and gets packed within seconds, if you already have an idea of what you want (and you're traveling in 2 or more, one person must 'reserve' a table by taking a seat while the other orders and pays).... that's the risky option though 😁 the less risky option is all get in line like kids at a candy store, taste-test the numerous flavors on offer (who needs a table to sit at when you have ice cream?) ☺️

The waffles were good because I love that they were light and fluffy in texture not flat like the usual kind and I enjoyed the nectarine and blueberry flavored ice cream🍧. My sister had the banana 🍌 split sundae and even with me not being a warm fruit type of person, I surprisingly enjoyed this because the banana was only bruleed on top so the banana didn't have that soggy texture like when it is warmed in a pan. Will definitely try them again 👍🏻
Supervundu
Best ice-cream in town. Wife and I are regulars, probably stop by once a month and usually leave with two tubs - one always being the flavour of the month. Once upon a time they brought out a limited edition chocolate brownie ice-cream. If that was a regular on the menu I would totally give them the extra half-star, but I'm being spiteful.
Laura Martin
If you like your ice-cream, like you like your sex, plain and vanilla, then the creamery is not the place for you...sorry to disappoint. <br/><br/>From Salted Caramel to cornflakes, the creamery never disappoints with their weird, wonderful and out of this world collection of flavors. I especially love the Newlands branch in Dean street as they serve the most wonderful, crunchy yummy waffles (which are not available at the other branches, I’m afraid to say 😔). <br/><br/>The ambiance of the restaurant itself is a very nice, chill out place to catch up with friends or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of university life. <br/><br/>All in all, a definite must! The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful (especially when it comes to tasters)
Malar
No wonder, they serve the best ice cream in capetown. Go for waffles and banana split , indulgence is guaranteed. Add toppings buruleed banana, caramel sauce, almond, toasted marshmellow....
Zahraacachalia
Absolutely delicious ice cream selection! Every flavor we tried was different but delicious.<br/>Really original selection with delicious sugar cones.<br/>I would recommend the half and half option as it's in a bigger cone and slightly more than a single scoop but only slightly more expensive than the single scoop!<br/>You also get to sample more flavors this way.<br/>I would say a must visit on your way back from a day trip or as a dessert alternative.<br/><br/>

Absolutel must have ice-cream in Cape Town!* Soooo creamy and tastes great! Service with a smile and you can taste befor you buy! 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

Went there on Monday night to find they've increased their prices yet again (now R37 per scoop or R39 for half n half). I've supported the creamery through many price increases over the years (I remember when it was R27 a scoop, and I thought the jump up to R30 was a lot!) but this is too much. Not just because of the increases, because I understand that inflation is a thing and I'm willing to pay a fair price for a quality product, but this is happening while the quality of the ice cream is going down<br/><br/>On Monday night they were scooping the usual five, then their flavour of the month (chocolate birthday cake). Their seasonal flavours that night were cornflake milk, malted milk and scones and jam. <br/><br/>Firstly, it doesn't make sense to scoop cornflake milk and malted milk at the same time, or scones and cake together. But that's just my opinion.<br/><br/>Secondly, I can't help but notice a move away from flavours with fillings and toppings. This is important because The Creamery has always justified their prices by saying they support local farms etc., so why exactly does my scoop of cornflake milk or malted milk cost R37? It doesn't make sense.<br/><br/>Thirdly, when their flavours do have fillings or toppings, they've become incredibly sparse. Unless you're lucky enough to get the first or second scoop from a fresh tub, it's entirely possible that you won't get. A couple months back I got a scoop of "brownies and cream" from Mouille Point (also a flavour of the month), and it was entirely sweet cream. Maybe a few flecks of brownie crumbs. I'm not trying to point out isolated incidents, I'm pointing out a general trend. <br/><br/>On Monday night we then turned our attention to the pint fridge (R95 is fine for a pint, we were pretty willing to pay that) but again the flavours were underwhelming and without fillings or toppings. The exception was chocolate peanut butter swirl. We decided against it because we both knew that meant a single swirl through the pint that we'd have to fight for, and maybe a bit on the top to make it look nice.<br/><br/>So we left without getting anything. <br/><br/>It's been very sad to watch The Creamery become like this. It's getting harder and harder to support them, and I think this was the final straw.

Highly dissapointed in the Creamery. Went in before closing time to order waffles and they refused to make waffles as the waffle maker was off already. So they say they operate till 11pm, but that is not the case.
Matshepo Motlanthe
Decided to check out which new flavours were released on this sunny day. Had the Rooibos chai with a cookie dough topping. Delicious. Highly recommended
Ameerah Abdol
Ice cream is one of my favorite deserts, so naturally the Creamery is a place I’d frequent. <br/>Their exotic flavors are definitely a hit for me as I always want to try something new. Somehow I keep going back to my original fave which is their sea salt caramel. The waffles and coffee are also really good! <br/>With a lovely decorated little place and friendly efficient service it’s no wonder so many people rave about this place and I’m definitely a fan as well! <br/>If you lookin for a good frozen treat I’d recommend this place any day!
Ayabulea Tutuse
Love the space and vibe. Delicious ice cream flavors. They change most of them often, but with a few staples. Great thing is that they let you taste all of them 😁😁
Ivi Malotana
If you are looking for a place to tickle your sweet tooth after a horrible exam. A place to fulfill your children's ice-cream needs on a sunny day. If you are looking for a place with good music, a place to unwind while munching on an exotic double scoop of intense flavour, then the Creamery is where you should go. It is a local hotspot for people of all ages and their ice cream flavours, waffles and milkshakes are to die for. I am here literally very week.
Lily Schroeder
My family and i had your delicious waffles and ice cream. We were first offered samples by the friendly servers, your manager Gakeemah was super friendly and Siya makes delicious coffee. Keep it up guys
Lauren Niekerk
I'm a big fan of The Creamery! I visit at least once a month to try the new 'Flavor of the Month.' The brownies & cream flavor, which my sister had was filled with huge chunks of chocolate brownie and definitely satisfied her sweet tooth! I opted for the coconut pineapple flavor as I prefer fruity flavors and was pleased with the light, refreshing taste and chunks of pineapple. We felt extravagant today so topped our cones off with toasted almonds and marshmallows = SUPER YUM!! Also love the friendly and helpful service at all the branches!
Lady
Brilliant ice cream!!! <br/>I literally crave their waffles. A must to have on a Sunday drive. <br/>They need more seating place in the smaller stores but overall it's a 5 star rating for me. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>
Marcio Lopes
Great ice-cream. Good variety of flavors. Great waffles. Happy and friendly service. Neat place and conveniently located. Love that it's open til late. Needs to start serving vegan ice creams!
Zaina Abrahams
The service is always great here and I especially love their unique array of flavours that taste exceptionally well with pieces of the flavour incorporated inside of the ice cream. The place is very neat and the setting creates an amazing place to bring your friends and have some fantastic waffles and ice cream.
Tayyiba
I was so disappointed honestly!! I heard that they are so great and then i wait patiently for my waffles only to get them burnt, the peanut butter ice cream was terrible as well as their sauces,it was seriously disgusting and disappointing and idk what the big hype is about
Leila Smeyatsky
I must recommend you go all out and have a waffle with a scoop (or two) of their fabulous ice cream with a brûlée banana, toasted marshmallow and chocolate sauce. It's a real treat!
Daniel Lewinsohn
Love coming here after dinner. Ice cream is excellent and I especially love the coffee flavor. Plenty of places to sit inside and outside of the shop.
Simira
Very disappointed! I'm not sure why people rave so much about this place. It's great that it's open so late and the waffle was quite OK for something that was undercooked. The ice cream though, tasted terrible. Not 100% sure what they put in it, but none of the flavors lived up to expectation.
Direshan Pillay
The taste for me is lacking, I have been here quite a lot normally doing a desert run for my friends. They seem to love it, the only flavour I truly enjoy (have a 2 liter always in my freezer) is the sweet cream. Really good with their sugar cones (so cheap for each cone like R2 each!!) . Their waffles are okay but not the best and stay away from their caramel sauces (it tastes burnt!!). I initially gave a three but three point five seems more appropriate. Its novel and central so a sure nice pick.
Lucy McGhie
My favorite ice cream store in Cape Town! I've been to the creamery a couple of times and it never seems to disappoint! My favorite has been there peanut butter flavor with chocolate chips and their birthday cake flavor 💛. <br/>I've also seen the creamery at a few weddings that I've worked at which has been great for me!<br/>This place isn't the cheapest around but i feel that the portion size makes up for it as well as the quality of ingredients and enthusiastic service which makes the creamy a winner! <br/>

Jut when I thought it couldn't get better .... it did. The carrot cake ice cream is just so wonderfully delicious it brought the biggest smile to my face. Like seriously ... they bake a carrot cake (which tastes amazing by itself) then mix it with the best home made ice cream. It couldn't get better one would think ... but wait there's more ! After the suggestion by the other Creamery branch I came to Newlands to get my waffle fix and I must say having this delightful scoop paired with an equally perfect waffle that was crisp on the outside, soft in the inside and light enough to carry the toppings without interfering with flavor the ice cream, is the cookie dough topping on the top. It's the best supporting act a scoop of ice cream could have. Can't recommend this place enough.
Nel
There is good to this place and then there's some bad. I'll start with the good:<br/>Ice cream- absolutely fantastic especially after a rugby game when you're looking to have something a bit more real tasting than say a fast food chains' ice cream. Waffles! Who doesn't love a good waffle; theirs are pretty high up on my "yes I'd go back" scale. <br/>The bad:<br/>Too full- space and finding somewhere to sit is absolutely impossible and the location of the line; the tables closest to the counters are too close so it's extremely cramped especially when one gets to the till to pay. The line is also haphazard- the staff skips over some people because the line has no real definitive area. <br/><br/>But other than that- the ice cream is worth the cramped up area!
Zara Wong Soemadinata
Love love love this space. It's really cute and hip with really aesthetically pleasing decor. I'm a huge fan of their ice cream and waffles. Always craving it from time to time!
Mosa Mashati
I wonder where my old review disappeared to🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️<br/>Anyway, CARROT CAKE IS BACK! I was honestly as excited as a 5 year old to see that ice cream behind the glass again, Ive been anticipating it's comeback for months! <br/>Also decided to try the macadamia for take away and it's very lovely , it tastes just like the sweet cream just with a nutty undertone (obviously) I prefer it over sweet cream though . I also tried the mango flavour and was very very close to choosing it over the macadamia but the thought of having a full scoop of mango in ice cream form gave me a bit of anxiety, I wouldn't have been able to finish it. <br/>My waffle was a little burnt and I didn't enjoy it as much :( but I've definitely enjoyed them every other time I had been there , I guess tonight was just a bad night for waffles.
Robin Mahlangu
One of my favourite go to places no matter my mood no matter the weather. The sweet cream flavour is my all time favourite but really do enjoy most of their flavour of the month offerings, there's always a nice array of options to choose from. The waffles are also very nice and tasty and nice toppings offered too.
Alexandra May Barry
Tried almost every flavour. Best ice cream, best place. Great service, great value for money! <br/>Would recommend the half and half cone or waffle!
Kim Knight
I love The Creamery ice cream! I went specifically to this branch for the waffles, and they did not disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, amazaballs ice cream! Definitely worth a visit.
Courtney Stanbury
Went to the Creamery in Newman's specifically to try the waffles. They were good, but not outstanding. The ice cream however, as always was amazing. The staff were very friendly. Over all a lovely experience.
SquatForPancakes
As many of my friends may know, I have two foodie addictions: chocolate and ice cream. <br/><br/>Even though Creamery is quite a drive from my house, it is definitely worth every kilometer I put on my car. Every month, I look forward to their flavour of the month. I can't wait to see that update! <br/><br/>My friends and I went last night, flavour of the month is Carrot Cake and omg! There are pieces of carrot cake inside the ice cream! It's really amazing and I recommend everyone to pay a visit this month! Also, having a best friend who is allergic to nuts, there are no nuts in the Carrot Cake ice cream.<br/><br/>I also tried the Macadamia Nut flavour last night, but it was a little bit bland with not much flavour. I'm stilling giving you guys a 5 rating, because I've always found a flavour that I love every time I go there! Also, the scoops are huge! Yes, you pay R34 a scoop, but it's so worth it. You can also buy some tubs for R85. I fee that's a bit pricey. I know you guys put in the best ingredients, but I can't get it over my heart to buy a small tub for so expensive.
Ecstutor
The Creamery is consistently amazing in service, ambience and taste. This is probably the best ice cream I have eaten in South Africa and the sweet cream remains my favourite flavour.
Saabirah Hare
Amazing waffles! 💞 , at first I went to the greenpoint branch and there was no waffles then came to this branch. Although the waiting time for the waffles were long, it was worth the wait 🍮 I had the chocolate ice cream with toasted marshmallow topping and roasted almond with chocolate sauce and it was to die for. I recommend one scoop as it is more than enough. Great place!
Tia
Definitely one of my absolute favourite places to get ice cream! The flavours are great and unique and it always tastes as thought you're eating the actual thing be it melktert or carrot cake or even their Limpopo black tea flavour. Their ice cream is always creamy and never disappoints. Recently started buying their waffles too! The seating is limited within the store but if you're lucky enough to get a seat it's a great place to relax and enjoy a good scoop of ice cream. I always choose the half and half option as it allows you to get two flavours without having to get a double scoop. They are a bit pricey but it's definitely worth it! The Creamery is one of my top 3 places to get ice cream in Cape Town!
Riani Deacon
I had the salted caramel ice cream and it was delicious. Ons of the best caramel ice creams I had in a long time! The sugar cone was also really nice and just what a person need after a hot day. Will def be back again!
Emma Haines
The best ice cream around! <br/>Peanut butter &a pop corn are definitely a winning combo 🍦👯 half &a half is a good portion size as it's just enough ! <br/>Go check them out in Newlands or at their other branches in CPT
Darla Dates
This is what kiddie dreams are made of and I'm not ashamed to spoil that inner kid in me. The Creamery lived up to expectations and I left with my taste buds dancing and a skip in my step.<br/><br/>Had a fabulous waffle that visually looked appealing and the comfort of that warm cake in the oven smell brought a smile to my face. I am happy to say it was crispy on the outside and light/fluffy on the inside. But it was my salted caramel scoop that was the winner of the day. Creamy, not too sweet, on the edge of that rich burnt caramel taste with just the right balance of salt.<br/><br/>Can't wait to return and I think the banana split is the next item on the list.<br/><br/>
Tessa Brown
I probably spend most of my eating out budget at the Creamery. It's the perfect replacement for coffee with a friend, and I love that it's open late. Never mind the amazing seasonal flavours, and the quality staff! This place my go-to.
Sara
I love this branch of the creamery. The service is always great and there's plenty of places to sit although parking is an issue. Had both the coconut flavours today on a waffle and they were amazing!
Shinade
The coffee and chocolate ice-cream is amazing! I can't wait to go back to try the waffles as they looked delicious - as well as the other ice-ice-cream flavours.
Tracy-lee Splinter
I think the creamery is a little over rated. I have tried quite a few of the flavours of ice cream they have available but it has yet to live up to the hype. I have also tried the waffles, which I thought were a little too dry. The staff are always really friendly and I think the venue itself is really pretty.
Kesia Burdett
Amazing service and the ice cream melts in your mouth. A girl named Mika was the friendliest person with a large smile on her face and a zest for life! She just made me feel like I wanted to return. So in combination with good food and good service, I will be returning
Aimee Smale
This is my go to place for any ice cream craving. They have such delicious ice cream and a flavour for everyone. They also have non-conventional flavours for those who are more adventurous with their taste buds. <br/><br/>Their flavours of the month are always wonderful and it's a must if you're an ice cream lover. The setting is trendy and the staff is always friendly and the ice cream is rich and full of flavour. <br/><br/>One of my favourite places to exist.
Tinéo Galela
This was on my bucket list for a year before i moved to Cape Town. I frequent here because the homemade flavours are exciting and the staff are friendly. If you want something to excite your tastebuds, don't leave Cape Town without visiting The Creamery.
Jenna Rodd
This is what heaven tastes like if you enjoy ice-cream. The creamery ice-cream is amazing! They have standard flavours but new flavours are also introduced every month. I am not too crazy about their waffles, however. I find them too crispy and thick but they aren't bad. I have just had better.
Mpho Mokoena
Last time I rated The Creamery 3.5 and I complained about the awful ice cream smell and long waiting time for orders. Well, I went back today and there was no smell! My ice cream and iced latte found themselves within my hands faster than I could say 'I love ice cream.' Not even a few months since I was last here and the place has drastically improved. They have a cosy setup! And I went at night this time. It was beaming with customers and the vibe was amazing! Even the staff is friendly and really efficient! Will go back regularly now! I like how they took my last rating to heart. That means a lot! Shivesh Bhana
Jessica Armstrong
All I can say is YUM! Great flavors wonderful ice cream and the place is open till 10.30 in peak season? Uuuh that's a win in my book! It's obviously popular because it's busy and I can see why!

So yesterday I finally ended up here. <br/>The place is very small for its clientele. <br/>Their waffles did it for me, I enjoyed it way more than the ice cream. Probably one of the most amazing waffles I've ever tasted, so crispy. <br/>The flavors are very prominent, cheesecake is very cheesy & the chocolate tastes like cocoa. <br/>Service is a big thing for me and the staff are very nice and friendly. <br/>They will definitely be seeing me again for their waffles and defs needs to broaden their ice cream flavors.

All I can say is wow. I'm lactose intolerant and I put that aside for this. (payed for it later of course). From the full teaspoon tastings before you choose, to the extremely friendly service, to the delicious home made sugar cones. Everything was amazing

This is such a very popular place for ice cream, coffees, waffles etc. I've only been there for a take away ice creams so I can't judge other fare. But as far as ice creams go, I'm afraid I'm not a big fan. I find them not particularly creamy and definitely lacking in flavour. In my opinion there are definitely better places to go. However it is quite vibey and filled with mostly under 30s enjoying themselves. Maybe coffee and a waffle would be a better choice?

Took two of my colleagues along for a treat after one of those lengthy after-lunch meetings.. (read boring). I had my obligatory flat white, which was dark and deliciously rich whilst I treated said colleagues to...how does one describe this-- decadent, over-the-top, sinful, illegal concoction of a waffle topped with two scoops of ice-cream, roasted almonds, shortbread crumble and caramel sauce.<br/><br/>Enjoyed myself watching them devour this artery-clogging treat😆- This place is not the cheapest around but the combination of quality ingredients and enthusiastic service makes the Creamery a winner.

Best Icecream in Cape Town. Flavours change regularly and include some exotic and adventurous ingredients. The waffles are great as well and they serve a good coffee to go with your treat.

Good ice cream and wide variety of flavours. The staff are friendly and always allowing of you to test several flavours before purchasing. The prices are steep but you're paying for good ingredients. Tried the banana split and was somewhat disappointed in the portion. Other than that, well rounded dessert. Lovely vibe.

Smooth and decadent. Beautiful flavours. The roasted coffee and the dark chocolate are my favourites! Flavours switch around to keep it exciting too 😛

The Creamery is my "go to" choice for feel-good comfort :) <br/>Absolutely love their constantly changing flavours allowing you to experiment with a near endless number of combinations. The Newlands store is very inviting, however, can sometimes be incredibly busy. The double sided "breakfast bar" provides both indoor and outside seating and a relief from the business inside the store - there is also something quite pleasing about eating an ice cream on the pavement after 10pm <br/>My most favourite recent flavour additions have been #blacksesame, #marsalatea and #popcorn. Whilst my "when all else fails" go-to flavours are #sweetcream and #saltedcaramel - I always do half and half, double the flavour fun

What a cute ice cream spot! Delicious, flavourful and creamy ice cream - perfect for trEAT day! A single scoop of the flavour of the month is definitely worth the price tag. I am thoroughly impressed. Seriously, believe the hype!

Friendly service, the icecream was nice and it wasn't too rich. I personally think 1 scoop is more than enough. The place is very relaxed and it's great to just sit back and enjoy your icecream.

Love the creamery! Great ice-cream, cute decor and friendly service. Only ever had ice-cream there. Their coffee as well as their basil and strawberry flavours are my all time favourite. The waffles look delicious and I definitely need to return for one of those!

I had the Woodstock road flavour, I think that's the name and it was delicious. This branch is quite spacious and very inviting. I tested the black sesame flavour, it was good as well and will definitely be on my list to try
Sara Krunic
Always really friendly people working there, a great vibe and delicious items on the menu. I always go for the classic ice cream in a cup - best flavours are chocolate, sweet cream and tiramisu!

I always wait for the new month to see what exciting flavours it brings! And I'm never disappointed. The guys behind the counter are very patient and friendly and always offer you as many tastings as you need to decide what you'll be having. I enjoy the waffles but I recently discovered the half and half option which is 2 scoops of ice-cream in a large cone for just R2 more. Definitely worth the long lines. I always bring people here :)

Warm Apple Crumble<br/><br/>The perfect dessert for winter, it’s sweet, nutty, savoury and comforting. There are sprinkles of golden oats that gives it a crunchy texture. It’s served with a scoop of sweet ice cream and salted caramel sauce.<br/><br/>Waffle with chocolate sauce and ice cream <br/><br/>Waffles in winter is a thing right? Well it should be, especially if you are visiting The Creamery Café. The café smells of warm, freshly made waffles and coffee. Definitely a winner in any season.

Wow! What took us so long! Ice cream at its finest and you know you onto a good thing when there is a queue out the door on a Sunday! We had the salted caramel and 65% chocolate flavours and they were so creamy and delicious! Also had flavours like butternut marshmallow and cookies and cream... Yum yum yum

One is never too old...or too young for ice cream! The Creamery is one of my favourite ice cream spots and is simply a place that is bound to put a smile on your face. <br/><br/>My choice was a delicious cookie dough ice cream and hubby...well anything with peanut butter wins him over, so sea salt caramel and peanut butter was his choice of flavours. Both ice creams were creamy and delightful. Smooth in texture and rich in flavour. <br/><br/>Their flavours are seasonal and when you find yourself in a difficult situation not knowing what to choose, they allow you to taste the ice creams and suggest ice cream pairings to tantalise your tastebuds. <br/><br/>If you have a sweet tooth or craving for an ice cream, The Creamery won't disappoint.

Fast service, there was a long queue but it moved so quickly. The ice cream was so yummy and affordable. Next time I will have waffles and ice cream topped with some sauce. Cheat day feels so far away...

Popped into The Creamery yesterday evening and I was so thrilled to see that they were busy on a Sunday. They seem to update their flavours seasonally, but keep a few original hits (like the salted caramel) on offer.<br/><br/>Service is great - it's really so great that you're allowed to taste flavours before you decide on a choice! I went with the cara cara and cream + the rooibos chai. The ice cream was definitely every bit worth the price. I loved that although rooibos is subtle, I could get a distinct hit of it with cinnamon spice from the chai flavour. Really delicious, I can't wait to return and upload more pics from my visit!

So yummy! Went to the Creamery after a hike in Newlands forest so desert was my reward!! I had a waffle with peanut butter icecream and chocolate sauce, it was so delicious-peanut butter icecream is my favourite and theirs was one of the best I've had.<br/>

Always worth stopping by on a hot afternoon, or any afternoon to be honest. Some of the best ice cream in the western cape. Milkshakes are a bit pricy, but definitely worth the spend. Flavours are so rich and unique.
Chetna Black
Delicious Ice Cream and tastiest waffles ever - prices may look a bit steep at first, but the portion sizes are big and the flavours are well worth the price tag. A must - visit in the Newlands area for a fabulous treat. In summer time the lines can be crazy, so be prepared for a wait. But the queue goes fast and the service is efficient. They have never messed up orders and I have never been disappointed in this place. Outstanding.

The variety of flavours offered is what keeps me going back! Their weird and unexpected ice creams are a delight to try and experiment with it. The staff are extremely friendly and exceptionally helpful.

I love this spot for late night dates hehe! I love the sweet milk, it's generally my go-to flavour, otherwise I opt for Sea Salt caramel as i don't really have a sweet tooth. Dario,on the Other hand, loves chocolate anything. Yummy and open till late :-)

Decided to try Creamery on a relatively cold evening. The decor of the place is inviting and cute. The atmosphere was loud and noisy. I had the peanut butter and chocolate flavours (half&half) and must say it was a large scoop! The ice cream was generally tasty and enjoyable but not the best. Wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Clint Wilson
Generous portions, helpful and friendly staff. Had a waffle with Salted caramel and peanut butter scoops, wife had a waffle with tiramisu and roasted marshmallow, both were amazing! The Americano coffee was awesome. We seemed to have arrived at the right time as it filled up quickly after we sat down. Will definitely be back.
SauRoN
Absolutely spectacular every time and I work nearby so that's quite often. Great staff, great ice cream and eternally consistent. The only complaint I have is that better queue management would make a massive difference.

The Creamery is always a good option to get your waffle fix when you're in the southern suburbs.<br/>Their service is good. Happy to help. Luke, who helped us, didn't shy from suggesting popular flavours, which is a big up for me.<br/>They keep you on your toes with different flavours of ice cream. <br/>Satisfying but nothing to write home about.
Lukeconorbolton
Best ice-cream in Cape Town. Such a treat, they change their flavours all the tim but my favourites are the salted caramel, carrot cake, apple crumble and the peanut butter. Treat yourself to a waffle that are just as good. The service is good and very friendly. The prices are high but they give you a huge scoop which is always satisfying. <br/><br/>Lekker lekker

I frankly think Ice Cream can be enjoyed at all times of the year and The Creamery at Newlands proved that, the shop was packed for a late Saturday afternoon. I'm surprised a lot of people like the waffles as the batter was being poured out by the bucket load. We just stuck for an ice cream and sat outside enjoying the Saturday afternoon. I really like the sea salt caramel. I'm a sucker for peanut butter but wanted to try other flavors so grabbed a cookie dough ice cream. <br/><br/>Staff are really friendly and the place is pretty clean. Can't wait to come back.
Richard Best
The venue is fresh and clean but with only a few tables, and on days like today the queue goes well out the door. <br/><br/>The staff are friendly and pretty good at keeping people moving. The prices.... It's best not to think about them too much, but I thought the single scoop waffle was decent value.<br/><br/>The ice cream sure was creamy, and the quality was good, but I found the milkshakes altogether too rich to have more than just a few sips and the rest was left.<br/><br/>A good place for a quick scoop or a waffle, but not outstanding.
Minowrahvw
One of my favourite ice cream spots. The sea salt caramel flavour leaves me dreaming day in and day out. <br/><br/>The waffles are crunchy, perfect to share and at a reasonable price as well. We ordered iced coffees and regretted it immediately, it was literally coffee with iced blocks in them and not the way an iced coffee usually tastes. <br/><br/>Definitely a big fan but regrettably not a fan of the iced coffee. Tried the cappuccino and it was yum!
Rowe.danielle31
Little bit pricy but for a Lekker treat very worth it. The half and half deal makes it better. Lemon cheesecake ice cream is yum and general decor in the shop is really pretty and nice seating spots. Waffles are grand. Fresh. Crunchy. Coming again!

Oh my god, I finally got to eat a real-life banana split sundae, and it changed my life. The brulee'd crunchy caramelised banana was out of this world, as were my choices of peanut butter and malted milk ice cream. Topped off with salted caramel sauce - this sundae was a winner through and through. I also loved the upbeat vibe and friendly service.
