What a beautifully relaxed ambiance with a view of the commons /farm village lawns where children and young couples play and bask in the sun. There were families filling what appeared to be all the tables and it seemed full and my husband and I were ravenous and disheartened that we wouldn't get space and would have a long wait before getting service...this was not the case...we were seated outside and brought our chilled white wine within minutes...And the food...well let's just say that tasting their shroom Burger should be on every vegetarian and meat eaters culinary bucket list!!!
What an amazing spot best live music and the food especially the pizza one of the best in Cape Town! Only the freshest and best ingredients 5*. The hosts Vanessa and Michael are amazing!!!
I love going to Cafe Roux, Noordhoek. Deo as manager is superb, and the rest of the staff are friendly and efficient. Live music events are my favourite. The children's playground is super for taking toddlers. The eclectic surrounding shops are "dangerous" purse/wallet teasers. The food is outstanding, especially the vegan wrap. Absolutely worth a visit.

We arrived on a busy day without a reservation, and were shown to a table outside. My heart sank as I looked around and realized it would be ages before we were served.
Before I could even open my mouth to relay my concerns to my partner, Miller appeared and took our drinks order. We had ice cold drinks in a jiffy and ordered lunch (Shroom Burger for me. Classic Burger for partner). Our meal arrived in good time, was delicious and Miller had taken care when taking the order (I requested no pickles, a request which is regularly ignored or forgotten). I'm totally visiting again and hoping that Miller will be around- he was amazing!
You should be mighty proud of such diligent front-of-house staff and a kitchen delivering top-notch food.
Great Venue with excellent sound for live music, amazing food and super friendly staff. Definitely recommend this little gem.
Warm, trendy, upbeat... good food, great ambience..... friendly, professional staff... fabulous management team.... Deo shines among others... real community place..... and personally loved by me because of the oportunities given to my beautiful singer/songwriter daughter Kathryn Swain..
I'm never dissapointed with the service friendly staff & food is always great 👌🏽
Amazing vegan options and service was great!! Loved the vegan burger! Thank you!!
Had a fun evening qith Koos Kombuis. Beef burger and pulled pork sliders were tasty. The gin cocktails were excellent.
Really wonderful food and service, and great value too.
Had a quick breakfast here last week. Really enjoyed the breakfast and chai latte. Service was good too.
My partner and I popped into the Noordhoek Farm Village for brunch and to explore the village on our weekend away. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain and so we ran for shelter and found ourselves at Cafe Roux. The restuarant was quite full but the service was excellent. Phyllis was absolutely wonderful and attended to our every need. My soaking wet coat was very grateful that our table was right next to the fire place!
My partner and I shared mint tea which was super refreshing! I ordered the "Shroom Burger" and my partner ordered a chicken wrap. I really enjoyed the burger, although I did ask for the gerkins to be removed (which they were unfortunately not). My partner really enjoyed his wrap though!
Overall, if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely pop in again for the wonderful service and friendly atmosphere.

Fabulous settings and great personalized service too. The food selection is wide and prices are fair. There is live music from 2pm and it adds up to the laid back yet sophisticated atmosphere. Recommended
We often come to Cafe Roux as a family on the weekends for lunch or tea. It's situated in the lovely Noordhoek Farm Village with a lovely outside seating area. Last time we visited we had great service and the burger was one of the most delicious I have ever tasted. Their deserts are also great and we often come for tea and cakes too.
Nice selection of meals, not amazing selection though. Always good service and a nice vibe in the restaurant. It can get quite loud but still a nice place to take younger kids.
Good food, beautiful setting. Only downside is the exceptionally slow service.
We live in the area so we've been many many times. The coffee is great and the live events are wonderful.
I ate at Café Roux for the first time before watching one of my friends perform. The outside seating area is really lovely and relaxing. The service wasn’t that great, in fact, we had to go to our waiter to ask for the bill at the end of our meal but maybe that was because it was quite busy. The pasta dish that we both had looked delicious but it was unfortunately so overpowered by the sauce that you could not taste any of the other ingredients, the pasta was also a little on the overdone side. After our meal outside we went and sat at our table inside and watched the show. The décor inside is simple and the bar is done out nicely. I will definitely go back to give them another try. It is quite pricey for the portion sizes but with such a beautiful setting I look forward to going back and trying more.
Great live entertainment and the fish was done perfectly. The whine list has a great choice and the service was friendly and quick. I'm surprised that there is so few people at such a great venue! Sticky pudding made me score it a perfect 5!
Super cool chill out spot, service needs a little work but the food was excellent and the music was awesome. The back of the restaurant just needs way better lighting. See who is performing go have fun!
My family and I went for breakfast here after a walk down to the the Farm Village. Such a lovely cafe; I love how it is dug into the ground a bit! I sat with head at the height of the lavender and so it smelt lovely.
The coffees everyone had were great (some not a fan of the cinnamon on the top) and we had a variety of breakfasts: eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, Banting eggs Benedict, chia pot and season fruit with yogurt. They were beautifully plated and all delicious. One of the biggest things to me is if they get my egg cooked exactly right and I was impressed; all the eggs were cooked perfectly!
Service was great and all in all was a very enjoyable morning.
Went to a live music session on a Saturday night.
The place was jammed packed - bordering on cramped, but a good vibe all round.
The food was out of this world - I had the calamari main which came with the most delicious honey and mustard dressing and salad.
I then squeezed in a slice of lemon meringue for dessert. Extremely decadent and huge!!
Cappuccino was really good.
Staff are friendly and prices are slightly more then average.
Good night out.
Great location, kid friendly, varied menu, good food. Deo (Manager) is an outstanding ambassador for this restaurant - exceptional service, literally beyond the call of duty. Wow. Will be back, again and again.
Great spot to chill out at. Good food with a varied and tempting menu on offer. Service is friendly and efficient. Family orientated and popular. Look out for their iconic music evenings, but you'll need to make a booking for these!😎
Discovered this restaurant by chance, while driving on the way to Simons Town, and what a gem! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, seated us a perfect table in the sunshine, while we had cocktails and some nibbles. I ordered a Cosmopolitan and my friend ordered a strawberry daiquiri. To eat, I had a portion of mussels, in white wine and garlic sauce, with crusty ciabatta and Chelsea ordered calamari with onions and peppers in honey mustard sauce. Ticks all round. Amazing setting, family orientated and yummy food.
It was not my first choice on the day but ended up happy and satisfied. The setting is lovely and the service really friendly. I took my mom-in-law who had the lamb neck curry and was virtually licking her plate. I had the banting burger which was really tasty. One suggesting - improve the wines by the glass list. I couldn't find one that and ordered a bottle but would far have prefered a glass or two.
Lovely setting in the Noordhoek Farm Village. Very friendly staff and a festive atmosphere. We had the chicken burger and the Mexican wrap with steak - both tasty and generous portions.
Went away for the weekend to a hidden bush lodge in Cape Point for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. On the way home we decided to lunch at Cafe Roux.
What a delight. Great food. Always.
Hubby had the delicious burger and I had wrap. We shared a rich and absolutely melt-in-the-mouth chocolate brownie for dessert. Excellent quality.
Love the serenity of Noordhoek and is village. The prefect end to a lovely weekend.
Friendly staff, beautiful venue and delicious food. This was the second time I visited for a breakfast. The first time I enjoyed their eggs Benedict and this time opted for their basic breakfast which arrived plated beautifully. A friend had their muesli and yogurt which I am definitely going to try on my next visit. Well priced cappuccinos and milkshakes made a perfect start to our day.
Such a phenomenal place to stop. This restaurant in particular has a play are for the kids. The service is friendly and efficient. Live music on the weekends and you can stop at the array of stores in the actual village for a variety of other things. Definitely worth the stop in.
Cafe Roux is situated in the Noordhoek farm village at the foot of Chapmans Peak. A great outdoor seating area next to a sizeable play area...perfect for kids! We had a late breakfast...my wife had eggs benedict and i gad the basic breakfast with added myshrooms. Both were sizeable pirtions and delucioys although my wife saud that the hollandaise sauce was a little too rich. Good attentive service, lovely weekend spot for the kids. My so had a toasted cheese sandwich. They have a sizeable kiddies menu which is great. A real winner. Only gripe: i wasn't asked what toast i wanted and just ended up with a seed loaf. No biggie!
1 of the best veg burgers I've eaten. Crumbed Mushroom with melted cheese inside. Nice thin chips on the side . The ambience of this cafe setting is great amongst the different variety of restaurants and shops. A hidden gem in cape town. If passing through Chapmans Peak stop at the Noordhoek farm Village
This is a wonderful, family friendly place ideal for some breakie or brunch! The eggs benedict is super tasty and their coffee is fantastic.
Great place! Super relaxed and great vibe. Always stop there for coffee during our weekend cycle rides. Very cyclist friendly as well. Great place to take your kids as well. There's jungle gyms and lawn patches for them to play around on
Went here on a whim when my parents in law were visiting. I had no expectations, having not done research before getting there, but was really impressed when the food arrived. Three of us were won over by one of their lunch specials: grilled yellowtail with vegetables, crushed potatoes, and hollandaise sauce on top. It was flawless, with the vegetables cooked to perfection - slightly crips still and full of colour. The fish was excellent as well but was slightly overcooked. Unfortunately didn't take pictures of the dish!
We threw a baby shower for our friend at Café Roux over the weekend and it was perfect. Everything was a breeze, great service, great food and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. I could kick myself for not taking any photos of the food (you’ll have to take my word for it) – we ordered a few platters (Bruschetta with sirloin and garlic mayo/salmon and cream cheese and a Mediterranean veg and feta quiche) – guests raved about the food and had a jolly good time. A big thank you to the Café Roux team for being so accommodating.
Cafe Roux is a great family restaurant that serves homely food. I had their lamb cutlets with veg and chips and it was surprisingly good. Cool play and grass areas for the kids. Service is friendly and prices aren't too bad ☺
Everything at Cafe Roux us excellent. From the minute you arrive, you are greeted, seated and served with a smile. Enjoy a live band on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The burgers are juicy and the cheese cake is to die for. Well done Cafe Roux
This weekend I got visit Cafe Roux in the Noordhoek Village , it's an area I grew up in and don't necessarily get to visit often, however I have been to Cafe Roux once before and was pleasantly surprised.
Today the restaurant was buzzing as it was a sunny winters day in Cape Town , we chose to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the fresh air. This restaurant and village are super kid friendly , not overwhelmingly noisy but a safe haven for all to come and sit and enjoy a meal.
Our waitress was friendly, our food was hot, fresh , delicious and even more impressive was the fact that I was pleasantly surprised by how short the wait was especially considering the volume of people at the restaurant.
We just chose a good old fashioned mushroom and cheese burger , the sauce was fresh, homemade (a huge plus) and not the 'plastic out of a sachet type stuff'. The burger patty was done to perfection (not overcooked) , the french fries were beautifully crisp and hot. Overall I was once again impressed with the food the service and will definitely be back.
This is a must if visiting Noordhoek or even if you live in the area.
Absolutely love it here. Very chilled and relaxed vibe and for us we love the super kids play area. They serve great food and coffee and they also have a phenomenal line up of musicians for special intimate performances that you can book ahead online.
A very relaxing spot on a Sunday. Very family friendly with jungle gyms for the kids. The food isn't anything to rave about but is definitely above average.
Excellent food and service! The soup of the day was excellent! The bread is delicious and the shakes with strawberries are great! Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere !!

Always a great experience. We stopped for breakfast on our way to houtbay. The farmers omelet was lovely and filled the gap. The milo milkshake can be highly recommended. Lovely setting and friendly and efficient staff. Great place if you have kids. Only downfall the toilets reek! Walking past the mens smells like you in the sewerage pipe ?
Other than that it was lovely and ill be back
Great Place for a Sunday morning brekkie. Good food, tasty coffee and ask politely and they'll bring you a newspaper ! Love the place after a ride up Chappies
Highly recommend the salmon breakfast. Simple but delicious. Cappuccinos are good too.
Vibe is warm and cosy inside (cold day) place is almost always packed and it humms. I believe the evenings get somewhat festive with live bands.
Great local establishment 👌🏼
In five minutes they managed to make us two of the best pizzas in our lives. And it is in a stunning setting. I wish that we weren't so rushed on our tour, but Cafe Roux made it happen!
This is a really lovely place to eat outdoors at, especially with kids, because they have an outdoor jungle gym/play area. The food is absolutely delicious (also fantastic vegetarian options). I can't remember what it was called, but the roasted veggie pizza I had was incredible! Will go back specially to order that again. ☀️
Three words: Vegan Chocolate Cake 😍💫🙌😭
Oh my word! I’m a huge fan of brownies, lava cake, chocolate cake - but this one is life changing. If you haven’t been planning to come to Cafe Roux, come for the cake! 100% the best one you’ll have in CT if not even in your life 😂 not kidding. A slice of warm, gooey, not too sweat goodness - Thank me later, you are welcome! 👑
Went for a 3 course new years eve dinner. Great food but their beers are pretty overpriced. Friendly waiters and barmen, good selection of drinks, fairly fancy food as well and everything tastes quite fresh, which is definitely a win for me. They had live music which was quite fun and handed out a free glass of bubbles to everyone who booked the function. A lunch visit is also nice as the setting is very pretty in quiet little noordhoek. Would recommend
The food here is great and the staff are very friendly. Don't order coffee if it is busy, because you'll be waiting for it for a while. There is a great play area for kiddies and the toilets are clean and neat. Breakfast is served until 16:00.
A really fantastic place for a bite and for the shows. The Roux pizza and the tiramisu cheesecake I had was really amazing
There are not enough words to say about this piece of heaven. I could literally not choose as there were way too many items I wanted to taste. Pure artistry... I could sit and stare at those desserts for hrs and still not be able to figure out how it was made... Such welcoming friendliness from the staff.... But man oh man could I not just be there in the cnr watching these artists at work? What an amazing place... Please do get a croissant of some sorts... It will leave u at a loss for words
Lovely setting friendly efficient staff and great food and options
The most amazing goosebumps giving dishes. What a gem of a restaurant. Great service and excellent food at reasonable prices.
Very tasty breakfasts, delicious coffee and the best brownie I’ve tried so far!
Very kind and friendly stuff.
We were there twice during our stay because of the good experience :)
This is a Market vibe, super nice vibe around. The service very good, friendly, very fast. Something I really love is the Dog Friendly aspect, you can see different hairy fiends around kuiering too. The kids have a place to play and have some fun too. Definitely coming back!!
Overall really great experience, the staff were friendly and the place well run. An added bonus was that the restaurant was pet friendly
Really great experience today. Great friendly helpfully staff.
Food, dessert and coffee was world class. Well done.
Although there was wheelchair parking the bathrooms need to changed to allow easy access.
This one if the most mind calming and blowing restaurant i have ever been to. Not because of its looks but the environment itself. Very relaxed in all its its aspects, fabulous environment for the family outing. Great service and delicious food. We really enjoyed our time over there. The view is amazing. If you are in the area try this restaurant and you will not be disappointed at all and kids will fun at the next door public playground.
Nice stop off after a scenic drive over Chapmans Peak. Our party of 4 all opted for pizza and this was fair value for the price. The topping could have been spread a bit better on the base as can be seen from the photos the edges had some bare patches. The service was a bit mixed with drinks coming to the table without enough glasses. This took a while to rectify. Even when we left and asked for a take away box, we later had to repeat the request. There is a nice play area for the kids.
Shhhhh! Let's listen to the music. Yes, indeed. This is one of the top venues for live music in Cape Town and the focus is on the artists. We attended the launch of Laurie Levine's new EP, Dunes, as guests of visitors from Switzerland. They were really impressed and had a very good evening.
Wren Hinds started the evening, followed by Laurie and Jak Tomas. The music was fabulous! The food was tasty, well priced, and portions a good size. The layout works really well for the performance. The waitrons were kept busy, but always responsive. Excellent sound engineering and lighting. Every music lover should make it a priority to support this venue and the musicians who perform there regularly!
Lovely for children, especially those under 5 years old. Food was good and service decent. Lovely setting, plenty parking and places to visit.
Plan around LoadShedding as some of the shops/ vendors could not operate during LoadShedding.
Jungle gym is a bit high for 3year olds and under, so be prepared to stand inside kids play area most of the time supervising your kids as they don’t have childminders.
