Loved every bit of beer hse as it's a cool hang out and chill with friends joint.they have a large variety of beers and have nice tasty finger food which complements the beer. We had awesome service from our professional waiter brian we kept us in giggles all the time.would recommend anyone to give beer hse a visit.thank u again to the friendly staff u deserve my 5stars.
This place is great. Really cool atmosphere, selection of beer and ciders is amazing. Prince did all he could to assist us and was really helpful. Would highly recommend a visit here, especially on a Friday or Saturday nights.
If my wife happens to lose me for an extended time frame during our stay in Cape Town I just might be hanging out at this local establishment.
I think I might become a "NON Alcoholic" now after 16 days of not finding a non alcoholic beer in Africa. I have never tasted beers this amazing and unique. Great drinks and amazing eats. If there was a 5 thumbs up that is what I would rate this place.
Best beer best food best vibe in Cape Town!! A Must Try...echoing the sentiment of the previous rater
Vibe was great went for a meet the brewers event absolutely amazing night good beer good food staff assisted and were always available and friendly, guys well done you have a good thing going there. And the bouncer at the bottom was awesome he is so friendly makes one feel happy and safe I can't say we'll done enough
Lekker vibe, awesome beer, very creative menu design. We ordered from the snack menu and it was ok, the pap chips was exceptionally nice!
We’ll be back for more.
Do you love a wide selection of beer? Then this is the place for you.
Beer selection is great, decor is quirky and eye catching. Service is decent.
Thumbs up.
Great place to go out and spend with friends. Loads of beer options available and some nights live entertainment. I would visit again when in the area.
A lovely spot on Long Str for after work drinks or an early supper mid week. The space is nice and open with a nice breeze coming in from the balcony.
The service can be slow however. I'm not a beer fan and the waiter was really helpful in helping choose what to drink. I had the strawberry Kopperburg and it was really good. To eat I shared a pulled pork pizza and it was filling even though I had to add salt.
Really nice spot to just unwind.

I absolutely love Beerhouse on Long. We hardly ever go into town without visiting the Beerhouse. Best selection of beers, waiters always friendly, such a nice vibe and truly anyone is welcome there. Looking forward to our next visit and to try the scrumptious food!
So Sunday I get the cravings - a dangerous thing if the craving monster is not satisfied.
The craving is for beer and food and variety is the key - so off to Beerhouse we go
I feel like a lot of different bites of food but most important - the crackling - oh my - the crackling...
I notice the Christmas lunch & dinner special - R150.00 - it is a good price
Comment to Management: The beer brined chicken - it was not so good. No flavor & very dry 😑
We also shared pork ribs / pulled pork / pork belly - this was excellent
Everything else was excellent - food / service and beer - yeah beer - yummy - craving monster controlled - phew😅
Brilliant spot to hang out after work or just with friends. Food and drinks were great (try the Beerhouse burger) and the service even better :)

I had an awesome birthday party! Our waiter Brian (if I remember correctly) was fun! I particularly liked the service because all the waiters were attentive and willing to help anywhere they can even though it wasn’t their table. The silent disco afterwards was the highlight! Thanks once again 😊
I went there on Friday night and i must say this place wat LIT....
Initially the crowd was okok but as the time passed, I don't whether it was the drinks which tripped everyone or the place... But it was damn cool...
Also the beers here are awesome... You will definitely get the type of beer you want
Definitely won’t be left disappointed if you are a beer fanatic. I tried the Explorer tray of beers, which is a selection of 6 beers that are displayed with all the flavor notes on a board. I will try the food next time, only tried to nibble on the beer-salt flavoured popcorn. The food that I saw other tables having looked good enough for me to want to try next time.
This is a good pub and restaurant. I had the Amasi fried chicken tacos and they were excellent. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lively. The beer selection is very good and seating is abundant for the space with additional seating outside on the terrace. My only complaint was the amount of cigarette smoke entering the building from the number of people smoking on the terrace. Aside from that an excellent experience.
Honestly one of the best places to be watch the World Cup. Great beer, their food absolutely bangs and it provides extreme value for money. The atmosphere is always great especially when the teams playing score goals. Thumbs up Beerhouse!
What can you say about a place that offers 99 beers and plenty of local draft beers PLUS food? Awesome value for money, great service. Food isn’t terrific but then the cost is minimal. Avoid the ribs. Mine were smoked to death.
Nice beer joint. Wide range of beers and relaxed vibe. Service is good and the staff are friendly. Had a beer during lunch in the week, so not lively but perfect for a pub lunch.
The butter fried, chicken burger is AMAZING, served with slaw and sweet potato chips - I also love the beer tasting platters, I am a fan of the flamkuchen (not everyone's fav, as it is not exactly a pizza) and a few other things at this famous CT venue!
Took my husband here today for the first time and as an avid beer lover he enjoyed it thoroughly. We had the Eisbein and Chicken Tacos which were both delightfully crispy. And of course we couldn't pass on the Beer Float for dessert. Great service from our waiter throughout the visit.
Beerhouse on Long Street is definitely one for the beer lovers and with its bright yellow signage and building, it will be hard to miss. In fact, they offer twenty-five (25) taps and ninety nine (99) bottles of imported and local beers, so if you can't find a beer you like in that mix, you should stick to wine.
This was my first visit to Beerhouse's Cape Town offering, but I have frequented both the Fourways and Centurion branches so it was nice to see where it all began..
Long Street itself, over the years, seems to have gotten quite dingy unfortunately so at night, its probably not the place to walk alone but security on the door is decent so once inside, you feel safe.
On the whole, the service was quick, and the beers cold so I couldn't really ask for more, but I didn't enjoy the DJ on shift the evening that we visited so I was quite happy to head to a different bar.
*Recommendation: One for the hardcore beer enthusiasts!

Beer Explorer - Nice first try as a drink at Beerhouse. Love this place, awesome vibe, spacious, good variety of drinks and food and friendly staff! Still need to go try out their food - but by the looks of it, I can't wait to!
Incredible selection of beer, good food to match (and that includes good lunch specials!) and knowledgeable, friendly staff! If you want beer with your food, you better budget for two... otherwise your food will arrive just as you finish your first beer... and the second beer will come just as you finish your food...
The Beerhouse was a great stop after the Cape Town marathon. Always a favourite 😁😁
Really awesome choice of beer abd good food in the middle if Cape Town.
What more can one ask for?
If you haven't tried them, you should 😋
The food was surprisingly delicious! Their burgers and hot chips are nice. Casual experience during lunch. Highly recommend beer lovers to check it out!
Ending off a hectic week with a few friends, the exceptional service and laid back vibe made for an evening to be at ease. Enjoying from a large variety of beer, one that suits you.Chad Le Roux
The best place to go for a vibe with friends.
We really enjoyed visiting beerhouse the other day because it's a great place to chill with friends and it even turns into a place to dance as the night goes on. The abundance of beer on tap coupled with the gray tasting and freshly made food makes it an awesome place to visit. You definitely have to go more than once to try the beers or simply do a beer tasting which is great value for money!
Oh my goodness. With all the choices, you definitely can't visit Beerhouse once.
After being explained the menu by our friendly waiter we ordered our first round and some popcorn for the table.
If beer isn't your thing, there is mooore than enough other options, from ginerbeer to iced tea cocktails.
My ribs-loving friend was very satisfied with his order, The burgers are also good. The patties are meatball-like, and seem handmade.
The giant onion rings really are giant.
Witth regards to seating, I would recommend the balcony: looking down on buzzing Long street made the experience even more authentic and memorable.
Was there earlier today and it was my first time being there. I have to say I like the place, the staff are friendly and attentive which is refreshing as this weekend has been full of shocking behaviors. I like the ambience it's very relaxed and you can go sit there for a nice cold beer. The flavors are so crazy though iv never in my life seen that many beer flavors neither did I know there were that many so I enjoyed my beer and will be back soon to try another flavor. Their food was good too I had their sweet potato fries and ribs which were amazing, my only problem was that the malva pudding was a bit dry and the custard sickeningly sweet. Otherwise I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have a nice relaxed afternoon/evening.
This is the perfect place to go if you're looking to convert your friends to beer drinkers. I'm not a beer drinker but I came here one night and was given a beer that changed my perception entirely. The place gets very crowded so the service isn't that great but given the numbers it does well. This is definitely an international hotspot.
I really enjoyed the Sunday lunches, but since my last encounter I can't say that I still feel the same. Sure, the beer is awesome, but maybe that is what the main focus should be on.
Went there for lunch today and the food was Amazing! It was well priced and very friendly service. The restaurant was very empty however as it doesn't have the appearance that it is open for lunches. All in all good experience
One of my all time favourite spots to grab a drink! If you love beer you'll love beerhouse🍻 If you're struggling to choose a drink out of the hundreds of beers available, give the Apollo Blonde or the Jack Black lager a try. They do cater for non-beer lovers as well, but the options are much smaller.
Beerhouse does tend to get super busy so try and go early to grab a table (preferably one outside as inside can be very loud).
One is really spoilt with that many drink options. (also had refreshing ginger beer) I had some "tapas" style bar snacks in the form of the biggest onion rings I have ever seen, avocado roled in coconut then fried as well as some bacon on a stick...it was all absolutely delicious (no joke's)
What I love most about Beer House is the beer! Surprise, surprise.
There's just so much to choose from; there's no way you'll walk out with a bad taste in your mouth.
I would recommend gathering your mates and heading for the balcony with good vibes in mind. Take a laid back approach, because service can be slow due to the sheer numbers of people flocking to their favourite watering hole. Food should be your second priority here; I mean the beer is the star of the show after all. So don't expect anything too fancy. Their food is perfect for finger-style eating or sharing.
Go on, let your hair down, be a little loud, and chug your best beer!
Love this place......good vibe.love the big veriaty of beers and the burger are good as well....thumbs up al the way.can't wait to come back
Beer house is a great place; have been there many times and am always happy with the food, drinks as well as the service. Not convinced they crack a 4.0 score from me though.
I, myself, am not a huge beer fan - but I like that they have some less hopsy tasting stuff like the Fiery Ginger Dragon Beer and Liefmans Fruitesse - two of my all time favorite drinks.
Waiters seem to be pretty on the ball, and well-educated when it comes to the beer.
Great place to meet friends for drinks; they have some nice long tables too which is great if you have a larger crowd.
Been to beerhouse a few times. I don't drink beer as I've just never been into it but sashen enjoys it now and then and so do our friends. They have tons of different beers (over 101) the last time I checked.
The setting is very laid back which is cool. It's nice that you can experience a bar vibe and a little bit of intimacy as they have booth seating as well.
I also tried out their Biltong as we got a bit snacky. Service is slightly slow, especially when they're busy.
Coming from Holland their bitterballen do need some more work, the crispiness is not up to scratch. Other than that I enjoy going to Beerhouse, specifically on a Tuesday for the pubquiz. The quiz master is amazing! They serve typical pub food with any type of beer you can imagine, from Belgium to the US - their beer menu is like a book! I enjoy the burgers and Flamkuchen with fresh pesto.
If you want to have a fun night out with a group on friends I can recommend going on a Tuesday at 19:30. Book beforehand because the quiz can get quite crowded.
If you are a beer enthusiast then this place is for you. Over 100 beers to choose from international and local. and if you don't know what beer to try, they offer tasters to make the decision easier. There are wines, ciders etc to try if beer is not for you. On a nice warm day, would suggest getting there early to get a seat on the balcony overlooking Long Street.
So, Beerhouse. Let me say upfront that my history of beer includes taking first sips of my dad’s beer whenever I go home and a handful of fond memories of my student days in the USA. Other than that, my experience with beer is pretty limited. Also, I have horrible memories of eating hops a few weeks ago (let’s just say I have friends who were thoroughly amused) and almost dying in the process. Note to anyone curious: Never, never, never, never, never eat hops. It’s a terribly bad idea. Anyway, so when I found myself at the Meet the Brewers beer-and-food pairing event at the Beerhouse on Long Street earlier this week, I wasn’t quite sure how I would respond to what was awaiting me. But, alas, I had come prepared with a beer-drinking buddy, and off we went on new adventures.
Great experience. Spend time when you go to this spot. There's plenty to try out - and if recommend the tasting. Their menu is relatively limited, but that's not really why you visit this a lot.
BEST PLACE TO BE ON A SATURDAY NIGHT!
Incredible music, atmosphere, drinks and food 🎉
I'll definitely be back here again with my friends for another fantastic evening 😘
Definitely one of my favourite spots! Very vibey and even though they are always packed, the waiters and bartenders are on the ball! You can never go wrong with having such a big variety of beer (and other drinks). I absolutely loved the interior and being in BEER HEAVEN!
I truly don't see what people see in this place. Yes. They have alot of beer but so does a shebeen. Food is really tasty but service becomes non existent when they are busy. Not a bad place just not my vibe.@
Great vibe, great food, great beer! What more do you need? Even their fries are interesting! Love to sit on the balcony overlooking Long street. A must do on a Long street crawl.
I'm a no beer drinker but this place has an Incredible collection of beers! My partner was in beer heaven. Even though I don't drink beer, I managed to get a drink that I loved and tasted really good. A place to discover new beers indeed. Great place to meet up with friends and have some drinks! This place definitely brings the city to life! Next time we will have some food as well!
A fun spot to take your man for date night!
He will love the Beer variety for sure.
Girls can enjoy a few yummy beers too like Kopperberg & Liefmans!
My meal was average for the price.
Chocolate Milkstout Cheesecake is out of the world, just a pity there is no ice cream served with it.
Great place for drinks & the occasional nibble.
The beerhouse has got a great vibe. Great prices for beer and a wide range of beer. The food there taste great and have good portions. Personally I'd prefer some variety in their menu but otherwise great vibe and great people !
Great spot to catch up with friends, and have a good time! 99 beers?! Incredible! This is the place to be for any beer lover or someone wanting to be adventurous and try something new without breaking the bank. You get taster plates, or even 120ml glasses if you'd like to taste a few different beers at a time. Prices are very reasonable and they have some interesting snack options, and good food!
Its just another beer house and pub. But popular spot for youngsters. Lots of music pumping. Very busy. Nice balcony. But nothing spectacular. Same as the one in Johannesburg.
This place is a drinker's heaven. I enjoyed the vibe, the live music and of course.....the beer. All kinds and it's just a great experience to test out some outlandish beers.
Wow super impressive as you walk upstairs and a are hit by a wall of beers - bottled and on tap..massive selection could have stayed for days. Staff are really good and offered a some great tips.. Didn't eat only drank
Beer selection:5/5
Food: 2/5
Beer house is a great place to go out and enjoy the 99+ beers that they serve. There's something for everyone (including lemonade and beer mixes, pale ales, IPAs and stouts). The place is always buzzing and vibey and there are also drinks for the non-beer fans. :)
Don't try the food. It's really not great. Rather go to one of the really amazing restaurants on long or Bree and then come through for beer. Even on the bar snack level their food is mediocre. My chips were just awful and everything is overpriced. 6 bitterballen will cost you 60 bucks (and you won't be impressed).
Had friends down from Grahamstown and they chose the spot. Was most certainly not sorry, had the flamchuken which was beyond yum and everyone else went various other options which they thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back.
Beerhouse is definitely a good place to hang out in Long Street.
They have a good variety of beers so come check it out at 223 Long Street in the Central Business District.
If beer is not for you, you can always select from the coffee options they have available.
Staff is always friendly.
Oh beer.
Beerhouse has vibe. This is the perfect place to take a tourist or to meet up with friends after work. Just note that it gets really full (especially outside) during peak and that parking can be a pain (it being on Long St and all).
The variety of drinks available is wonderful, with my favourite being Liefmans (cherry beer), which makes me want to cry it's so spectacular, but the men in my life tend to lean towards the IPAs, or even sometimes a regular Castle if they're not feeling very adventurous. You can get a great view of the street so it's entertaining.
Food is pub grub, and I've always enjoyed it for what it is, although the onion rings are a bit all battery ring and no onion.
The go to spot for all ranges of beer and boy is it amazing! Always packed and have a great vibe of people there all the time. They offer some good food and I try to come here as often as I can when wondering down long street.
We love stopping in at Beerhouse to enjoy one of the city's best selections of craft beer. Pairing it with a delicious flammkuchen is also the way to go. This funny sounding concoction is basically just a flatbread with yummy toppings. Our favourite is the biltong and blue cheese. We also liked the BBQ Pulled Pork, though it was a tad on the sweet side. The service is usually great, though this weekend our waitress took on too many tables and totally forgot about us for nearly 30 minutes, causing us to go elsewhere for the remainder of our afternoon. Overall, worth a stop for beer lovers, particularly on Friday when you can get a free draft when you use the secret password posted on their Twitter account.
Amazing selection of beers from all over the world so for variety it's a great venue and the beer hall itself is awesome.
My only gripe is it's very expensive but most craft beers are.
I always enjoy their food, especially the onion rings. Would enjoy it more if they stocked Vedette Extra White on tap. I would appreciate it if the waiters worked a bit faster though.
Beerhouse is always fun. My first time eating here and the flammkucken is very tasty. The service was lacking a bit, but will come back for the yummy variety of beers.
Cool place with an amazing variety of drinks! Unfortunately not much attention is made to the patrons. Took 30 mins to deliver 2 drinks which were very over priced. Ordered a flammkuchen- only half the ingredients actually made it onto the plate- a pity as the whole meal did sound lovely... overall disappointed..
One of my favorite places to go in CT, food is really good and reasonably priced. Lots and lots of beer to choose from. Highly recommended!
If you the adventurous type that wants an endless choice of new exotic beers to try, then you have just found your latest challenge! It'll take you forever to even begin making a dent at trying the variety of beers there are on offer! From vampire dusk to strawberry Swedish beer. And you can do it all with a great vibe and variety of people there. If you choose your evenings wisely to visit, it's likely there will be a fun pub quiz or there is the lunch special in the day.
Very cool place. Even tho I don't drink beer, so I can't write a review that will do them justice. Tried the Liefmans Fruitesse, which was quite delicious! Will come back with more friends to try the rest of their menu.

Love the food and I live the variety of the menu. The beers all taste unique some are not exactly my flavour but others are truly amazing. The service is unique and it's effective.
One of my favourite spots to start or end a pub crawl in Cape Town. They have an amazing menu of craft beers, ciders and their flamkuchen is amazing. I do judge people who would order a Castle Lite @ this place, please order something better. LOL.
I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Beerhouse yet. I always have a great time here alone or with friends. The beer selection can't be beaten and it's a place where you discover a little bit more about your maturing tastes each time you visit. It's a pity that the food doesn't quite match the beer though.
A fantastic beer menu that focuses on the burgeoning local craft beer scene with plenty of foreign bottles to interest those looking further afield.
I know a lot of people go in there to have one of their many beers but there is more to this yellow house than beer.
It's their German menu that gets me hungry for more food. I have been there so many times and it never occurred to me that you can also have a meal there. I tried their round balls with a German name and they were amazing. Give the food menu a try and you won't be sorry.
The beer tasting options are great at Beerhouse! Definitely need to go back for the big one. The bitterballen are delicious and will definitely keep me coming back. Tried two of the flammkuchen and both were delicious. The pulled pork was a little too saucy but that's just personal taste. Can't wait for my next visit!
Update: went back again and there was less pulled pork on the flammkuchen which I thought made it much better and easier to eat. Awesome night and our waiter was excellent.
Beerhouse is always a jol, a must go for any beer lovers. Amazingly large variety of beers ranging for R30 to over R450. Whether it's for a relaxed beer or a big night out I would recommend Beerhouse to all
So, Beerhouse. Let me say upfront that my history of beer includes taking first sips of my dad’s beer whenever I go home and a handful of fond memories of my student days in the USA. @Robsondondo Beerhouse is a place to be on a chilled day. Love the beer for the house. I also like the decor and the beer chandelier , it's so beerishlicious
I love this place. Perfect place to go with the mates and have a good time. Good music and good beer. Gets a little too overcrowed on fridays and saturday nights but that is expected of any good bar.

Really cool spot. The beer tasting is really interesting - especially if you are like my husband and love beer. He was very impressed with the small tester versions of the beers (12 testers later...). The night vibe offers old school music which everyone goes crazy for.
Had the best onion rings and chips today with a great beer. The service was good didn't have to wait long for anything. Definitely have to go back and try the rest
Beerhouse is a must try. The selection of beers, tap or bottle, is mind boggling. There's a beer for everyone here. From the basic Black Label and Jack Black to the very niche Belgian Ales, Beerhouse is a staple for a night out on Long Street. They do nice pizzas and gigantic onion rings as well. Friendly staff as well, but make sure you get a table in advance, it gets packed.
Sometimes I get annoyed when this place is overrun with annoying tourists. But then I just drink more of Beerhouse's incredible selection of beers, and then I get too drunk to care. There really isn't anywhere else in Cape Town to go with a wider range of options. I've never eaten here, but if you toss back enough pints, I'm sure it will be tasty.
What an awesome place to chill! Excellent service, fantastic food and massive portions at very good prices! Would drive from the Northern Suburbs and come watch the rugby here! Thank you!
An always amazing place for cold great selection of beers. Just state the mood you are up to and the waiter will do the rest. Well done and they have burgers to die for 😍
Decent place for a beer on Long St. I sat outside on the balcony, a bit smokey but nice atmosphere. I went with the flight which was pretty good.
Huge beer selection. Staff were friendly and recommended a few beers to us.
Only gave 3 for the atmosphere as when we went there was no-one else there, it was fairly early on a Thurday evening so maybe it gets busier later.
Located in the CBD, this is exactly what I was looking for as a beer lover. Had plenty of local beers from South Africa and a giant flight wheel (called the Beer O'Clock) to try them all! Great place to sit on the patio and watch out over downtown Cape Town.
Never disappoints. The food and drink prices are definitely worth it. There is live entertainments (depending on the day of the week) and the staff are great and professional. Recommended budget is at least R150, depending on your plans for the evening (remember to tip :) they work hard and deserve it)
This is my go-to place on Long Street. It's fun and vibey. Great service during quieter times. Bar service is obviously slower during busier times, but still good. You'll enjoy your night out here, for sure!
Quality service from Gugu food was warm and fresh. An atmosphere to die for during sunset 😍
Great Vibe!
Perfect for a fun lunch or afternoon with friends or a casual date.
Good selection of drinks (even though a few items were out of stock)
Cocktail was okay, would rather stick to cider or beer next time.
We also had chicken strips and jalapeño poppers, very delicious! Perfect for sharing.
Will definitely return.
What a great selection of Beer. It feels like beer heaven. So many different kinds of bottle or draft beer. Unbelievable… After 2018 it was my second but not my last visit here. I will come back again
Had a above average first experience. Maybe the thirst and hunger. But we enjoyed it alot.
My girlfriend had the strawberry beer. Was not bad at all.
I had the cbc weiss .
Beers aren't cheap, but it's craft beer. So reasonable.
We both ate a pizza. I ate the pizzahouse. Nice burn , great taste.
She ate the Lit!
Was also nice. Couldn't wait to take photo, both pizzas have a bite away. Sorry about that!
Only downfall was that there was only one waiter. For +-10 tables. Felt sorry for her. Did her best.
As I said not the cheapest.
All in all. Recommended.
This place is awesome. It might even be the best bar I've been to at the Waterfront. Very clean, plays Pop/EDM type of dance music. The food was fresh and delicious. I love that it wasn't too packed. Everyone has space to dance. The DJ was on fireeeeeee. It made a great first impression on me. 🥳🥳🥳🥳
every visit to the beer house is super fun and pleasurable. there are so many beers on tap to choose from, with great cocktails and ciders also. the staff are really helpful and knowledgeable about their products and are able to advise you well. you can even get a flight of beers to try if you are wanting to sample a lot of the different options. highly recommend!
Epic and the vibe was extremely electrifying.
The Service from the waiter Gugu shows how great the leadership of the Establishment are. Gugu really went all out to make sure our experience was a memorable one.
Easily one of the best places to get a beer on long street. So many options, easy to order a flight, and they have an amazing balcony that looks over the street.
Haven't been at night, but apparently they have a DJ? Count me in.
