We arrived at 2pm to try and find a place to watch the world cup rugby. It was already full. The owner had a table for his family. He asked us to join them. It was an amazing evening, spent with wonderful people. Thank you my son Josh and I will always remember this.

Fantastic local bar, great for watching sports or having food and a drink. Good quality food freshly cooked and served by excellent friendly staff.

It is a landmark of heritage in the restaurant/pub space in town! The best Portuguese food you will have in the western cape!
The staff have been working at the place north of 15 years! The food is flavourful and well prepared. Big selection of bears and nice international wines. I have been going to this place regular regularly and will keep in doing so! Highly recommend to anyone looking for an true authentic experience!

Had an incredible meal that was massive! Really enjoyed the beef trinchado! The sauce was unbelievable and made for the perfect "dip" for my fries. Would love to try the restaurant again!

A very traditional type of Tavern. It was fairly quiet on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. There's plenty of parking outside which is unusual for this area. Lots more parking just across the road in Cape Quarter. They have a reputation for excellent food, mostly appealing to the carnivores. Good selection of beers on tap, including Caslte Tank which is fresh. They've added an undercover outside area with more bench tables.

Best half peri peri chicken I've had in a long time. Juicy and hot. Food arrived quickly and tasted great. Nice lunch time spot and great to watch sports on TV.

The moment you enter Vasco, it is clear that a good time is waiting for you. It is a fantastic restaurant in which people of all different backgrounds can sit-down and enjoy a delicious course of meals and some beer. The service is excellent and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a 2 course meal, for starters I dug into a deliciously fried chorizo(traditional Portuguese Sausage), along with the chorizo I had an excellent Chicken Trinchado - with an excellent garlic-butter and wine sauce (Exactly how a Trinchado should be).
For the main course I had a wonderful Beef Espetada with chips. The meat was cooked to perfection and delight to eat. The chips where also great but I would of preferred them to be slightly more crispy.
Vasco de Gama is a great Portuguese restaurant and a fantastic place to bring family and friends to enjoy some delicious food.

An institution and a must if you love Portuguese food. Espatadas were made with garlic margarine and not butter. The rest of the food was delicious. Staff attentive. Needs more ladies loos especially if staff sit in them for long periods of time.
