Magnificent. A burger to behold. Staff so helpful and friendly. Even when it comes to ordering those naughty word burgers highly recommend. Put this place on your to eat at list xx
The best hamburgher in Cape Town.
The place is very beautiful and the staff is very kind and also.
Particularly, the girls are exceptionally beautiful.
The hamburgers menu is endless and each on is great!
Had your Vegan Banana and Peanut butter shake 10/10, best shake I've ever had. Satisfying and not overly sweet like regular shakes. Also the portion was enough to share (had standard size). Service was also really good.
One of my favorite restaurants in Cape Town! The vegan burgers and milkshakes are UNREAL! The service is excellent and the place is super cute. Highly recommend!
A must visit for any burger fundi-local or tourist! Burgers are superb and the milkshakes to die for! Portion sizes good and great service and vibey venue!
Absolutely the best burger of my life! It is a perfect balance between bun, meat, sauce and garnishes! Every bite is consistently the same and although it is enough to kill the hunger beast... you wish there was just one more bite at the end!
Really nicely decorated in the inside. Love the quirky staff. Best sweet potato fries in town! The burgers are really good as well. Cocktails also have a strong punch. Can get full in the evenings.
Yummy burgers and milkshakes!
The venue is rather small but has a lovely and lively atmosphere. The service is great but rather slow on busy nights (as expected). Well worth a visit.
The juiciest burger I’ve ever had. Very generous portions - you have the option to sample up to 3 sides with your burger. It is really good value for money. The service was great.
What a lovely experience! My first time dining at the Royale Eatery and I was far from disappointed! Incredibly delicious food, the friendliest waitress that gave the greatest recommendations and such an awesome vibe! My boyfriend and I told our friends about it as soon as we got home and needless to say that we will definitely be back for more! 😍 My boyfriend had the Federal burger and loved it! While I enjoyed the vegan cheese burger and vegan choc coconut milkshake that our lovely waitress recommended! I absolutely loved the many food options for both meat-eaters and veggie eaters! A place that all can definitely enjoy 🙌🏼
Great burgers! If you're looking for a large variety of gourmet burgers, Royale Eatery is the place to go. They sweet potato fries are amazing and so are their cocktails and milkshakes. It's a very nice place to go in the evening for dinner with a large group of friends. They can easily accommodate you on the balcony which offers some privacy and a starry night experience.
You're my favourite restaurant but how do I become your favourite client? I've made an active effort to stop crying when I'm in your restaurant and I'm really trying to open up more to you. What more can I do to get you to love me back?
I had the Georgia Brown burger and it was phenomenal. It was interesting to have a vegan burger that had a similar taste and texture to actual meat. The tomato pesto really brought the whole burger together.
The area where I was seated was a bit squished and uncomfortable. There were a few mix ups with our orders but it was an overall great experience.
I would definitely come here in the future to enjoy some of their other burgers and to try the milkshakes.

You can always rely on Royale for a good burger! They have a wide variety of options (including options for vegetarians and vegans). The atmosphere is very laid back and chilled.
Amazing burgers, craft beer, gourmet shakes and extremely friendly staff. What more can you ask for! A hidden gem in the CBD of Cape Town, definitely worth a visit!
If you're craving a good burger or a delicious burger, Royale Eatery is the place! And for the vegetarians - don't worry - they have the best veggie burgers that are packed with flavour and yummy toppings. Highly recommend!
Only the best and biggest burgers on Long Street! A must visit for a reasonably priced splurge meal. The service was fast and the milkshakes looked unbelievable. Great cheap
Date spot or
Place to meet friends for some good oily grub.
Best vegetarian/vegan burgers in the country. The drinks and ambiance make this a must visit spot and the price means you can come here often.
Big points to Royale for having so many house-made vegan burger patties on offer and such a creative selection of toppings. Even more points for having so many vegan shakes to choose from! The service is effective and even large tables are well looked after. Great variety for all tastes and reliably delicious!
It's been a while since I wanted to come and damn it was great ! Their selection of burger is large and they cater for any kind of intolerance or desire. Their veggie burger are tasteful and generous. I had my very first milkshake, and I have to say, it is amazing ! The vegan peanut butter banana one is delicious and it's like having dessert at the beginning of your meal. The staff is nice, fast and handle easily large table. An improvement can be done for the sweet potato fries to look and taste better (they were soft) ! We will come back to try other option
Time and time again people have told me this is the number one spot for a burger and I must admit they weren’t wrong! The burger patty is full of flavour and the fries are perfectly crisp! I was too full for a milkshake but reading the flavours on the menu convinced me that I’m going to have to go back for one!
Beautiful little place. Informal with excellent service. Amazing menu with burgers that hits every spot. Something special. Great homemade lemonade. Loved it.
We went during First Thursdays on what felt like the hottest day of the year. Despite this, it was cool inside, service was super efficient and the food was delicious! Royale is an institution in the city, especially when it comes to gourmet burgers, which are very in vogue right now. I decided to see if it was on par with the rest of the popular burger joints.
Since Royale's fair is quite pricey, I decided to go for a simple Cheddar Royale with sweet-potato fries. This was so good that it really didn't need any other add-ons. They have the best brioche buns in the business, patty was just done right (not well-done) and the fries were incredibly moreish. We both ordered frozen home-made lemonade – the BEST thing to get on a scorching-hot day.
Will be back again.
A VEGETARIAN’S DREAM
I love, love, love that they have tons of vegetarian options along with meat, chicken and fish.
Their menu is huge! Which makes ordering a bit of a dilemma as the one just sounds better than the other. I had a really hard time making my mind up but decided to go with the Vegan do it! Only because the Falafel one (Zelig) was sold out.
I love the setting / decor. It’s got an old American vibe to it. We landed up sitting upstairs which was nice and spacious. The waitress very helpful and friendly.
I was really hoping to have one of their milkshakes, but after my burger I had absolutely no space! Their portion size is very generous and their sweet potato fries, they don’t look that great, but they’re a winner.
I’ll be back for a milkshake and to try a different burger next time.
P.S. I also love that they are open till late.
We happened upon this place and loved the burgers so much that we returned 2 days later! They are super fast and serve one of the best burgers I've ever had
Loved the milkshakes. Fries are stunning and burgers amongst the best around. Vibe is great and music well chosen. You can have great conversations even though it's very festive.
Caught myself eating there twice in one week... their burgers are to die for 🤤❤️🍔
Delicious, homemade and fresh. What more can a person ask for?
Eating healthy? No problem, ask for no buns and sweet potato fries🍠 🍟 Aniska
Lamb, Beef, Chicken and Vegan... try ‘em all 🙌🏼
We were a group of 7 and we arrived quite late,9pm,it was first Thursday. Luckily there was a table fit for our group upstairs, didn't have to wait too long. Vibe was nice and relaxed which was what my friends were looking for. I ordered the mozzarella royale burger with fries, to me it kind of tasted like the normal spur burger. My boyfriend had the breakfast burger which had bacon and a fried egg which he thoroughly enjoyed. Provinciale burger with sweet potato fries was also apparently good, it is a free range chicken patty with Cranberry sauce and caramelized onions. Dessert was good, Lindt brownie with ice cream. Cocktails were affordable but had abit too much ice which watered it down a lot. Overall good place for a big group of friends. Lots of burger options to choose from. Vegan friendly too. I would recommend adding any extras to your burger just to give it that extra boost of flavor and to not taste like a spur burger. Overall good service and nice portions.
I had probably one of the BEST Peanut butter & banana milkshake ever here. The place was quite busy so the service was quite slow but very friendly. Interesting menu and nice burgers.
The area can be dodge especially at night with lots of drug dealers and beggars so you must be careful walking alone at night.
Always consistent. Loads of variety for vegetarians and vegans. Buns are always fresh 🙌🏼 could have a better drinks / cocktail selection but otherwise delicious.
I have been here twice. It's a really lovely little restaurant. It gets quite busy during lunch time so make sure you arrive early or make a booking. First time I had one of their burgers and second time their pizza. The burger has a good flavour. Their pizza is very thin crust, quite average. The service is good and friendly.
It was the day after Heritage day, myself and my best friend were looking for places that were open till late , and we stumbled on the Royale Eatery, which was definitely a great surprise to find that they had such great foods!
I opted for the espresso milkshake , that I will definitely say is one of the best milkshakes that I’ve ever tasted
We had the Lindt Chocolate brownie that was so delicious, a bit of a crisp on the exterior, with a melting effect when eating it , it was absolutely divine! (I recommend it)
We also had the. Margarita pizza, but without tomato (we weren’t vibing tomato) and it was tasty!
The service was fantastic! Our Waitress, Tyra , she was awesome, greeted us , and was really friendly and welcoming!
I will definitely be visiting them again 🙌🏼😌
Excellent Burgers, very friendly staff. Myself, Liesl and Demi had lunch here 2 days in a row.. we were kinda obsessed. Today my Mom and Dad also visited Royale Eatery, they are not really "burger" kinda people but they loved it - well done you guys!
A damn fine burger! It was so good, I ate it so fast I almost gave myself to indigestion. First class even as a take away. Excellent beer as well.
I love the fact that there's such a long list of burgers and various options of proteins. Catering very well for the vegetarian and vegan market.
I think I've managed to work my way through most of the veggie options - there's something about the mix of flavours that don't always work well for me. The burgers rely too much on the sauces and toppings and not enough on the use of seasoning in their patties. Some of the toppings also tend to conflict in their flavour profiles.. so now when I go, I tailor the toppings and sauces (and ask for sauce/pesto to be placed on the side).
One of my favourite veggie burgers is the falafel one. I wasn't a fan of the googamooley (I think that's the name). But once again I believe it was because it contained loads of conflicting toppings on it (both guac and hummus to be precise).
Love the fact that you can mix and match your sides. I usually go for the half salad, half sweet potato fries option.
Surprisingly the fish based burgers are really good.
Their food is simply amazing. Best burger, pizza and shake was to die for. Will be going back for sure. I just wish they can be upfront about their automatic 12% tips for five or more people.

This little establishment serves up the best gourmet burgers in town!!! Really good milkshakes tooo! Banana and peanut butter... just try it...

I'm very fussy about my burgers. They must be mind blowing or else they are not worth eating. Royale ticked all my boxes! The whole experience was overall splendid, from the service to our lovely waitress to the milkshakes and the burgers! My boyfriend had the banana peanut butter milkshake which I tasted and was yummy but very rich! I had the honeycomb milkshake which was so damn good it was gone before my burger arrived! I had the BopBop beef burger with sweet potato fries- I hardly have the words. The spicy sauce it comes with was the perfect amount of heat and the burger itself was an explosion of flavour!
Will definitely be back to try a different burger (the list is extensive) soon!!
Clearly there is a reason why, Royale is a Cape Town favourite! The street level eating area is a less formal and gives the impression of a "first come - first serve" type space. Then the upstairs area, a little more of a "dinning room" feeling.
The burgers were fantastic. Every combination you can think of and each one an absolute treat!
The staff are as good as the food too. Passionate about what they are doing and that is a refreshing change.
Great place!
Loved the burgers here! I got a bacon cheese burger with Swiss cheese and it was exceptional. The fries were good, but not on par with the burger. I also got a milkshake which I loved. Definitely recommend this place if you want a good burger in Cape Town!
Royale has always been my favorite place to go to for a burger or milkshake. Their portion sizes are generous and always fresh. I cannot fault this place!
This place can get a bit noisy and dark but I think that's the aesthetic they're going for so it shouldn't take away from your experience - I just wouldn't recommend coming here for any intimate gatherings. The vibe is fun, the waitrons try to be friendly and attentive at all times and according to my fellow burger enthusiasts the food is great. Give this one a try if you're looking for something student-y to do.
Great service, amazing vegetarian options, excellent pizza. Also reasonably priced. Giving a 4, not 4.5, because their potato chips were very average, which is a no-no.
The amount of veggie options here are awesome! The burgers are also delicious. Their lindt brownie is to DIE for. SO GOOD. I am always on the look out for good brownies and this place nailed it. The dark chocolatey creaminess with the crispy bits of the browny was just perfect. Milkshake was pretty average.
I also found the ambiance very nice. The maps and the sheet music on the walls add a nice touch. I prefered the top section as it appeared way more quiet and relaxed than the bottom section of the restaurant. It's a pitty they don't serve pizzas upstairs but will definitely be back to try out their pizzas some time.
Service was also good.
One of my favorite burger joint in town. I am never disappointed. Good selection of homemade burgers at reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Burger patty was tender and lovely. The space is warm and fuzzy, felt like I'm having dinner in my lounge with a friend. Absolutely loved the shakes!
Overall great experience.
I'm a little embarrassed that I've lived in Cape Town for this long and hadn't yet been to the Royals eatery before Tuesday night. It was my friend's birthday and she decided to treat a bunch of us to dinner! We all shared a variety of milkshakes -Oreo was definitely the best. For my main, I decided to go with the trombone with a side of sweet potato fries and oh my word was it ever fantastic. The trombone was marked as a veggie favourite on the menu and it definitely lived up to its title. Oh my word it was so fantastic. I think the bean base of the patty in combination with the peppadew sauce really did it for me. My boyfriend- who isn't a vegetarian- also agreed that it was fantastic and regretted not ordering it. Aside from the food, the decor of the restaurant is very pleasant and very trendy. Our waitress (pink hair) was also great. Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back!!
Meaty burger that absolutely hits the spot. Amongst the various options (the Sweet Petunia apparently especially good), the simple cheese and bacon burger choice still a perfect example of burger goodness
Their burgers are to die for!!!! Especially their vegaterian/vegan options.
I had the zelig and you get an option of fries, sweet potato fries or salad and not only was I very impressed with their delicious patty but the side salad was filling and delicious( which is not normally the case with salad if you take it instead of chips)
My partner had the hawaiian piggy and she was also very impressed, I tasted her burger and I really loved it ( not a big bacon eater)
The food took quite long, but its okay after the food arrived we forgot how long we waited.
Will definitely go back to try the rest of their burgers.
Absolutely love it here. A group of 8 of us went last night to celebrate my dad's birthday. Atmosphere was lovely, food was delicious and service was good. We brought a birthday cake with us which they served for us. Overall a wonderful meal out.
What can be said about Royale that hasn't already been sung in praise of this venue? I love it here. Late afternoon burgers are my guilty pleasure, the drinks are splendid and the service staff are simply wonderful. Still my go-to for a burger after all these years.
First time eating here! Had the Zelig burger with the sweet potato chips! Was so tasty and very filling. Also tried out there shakes, honeycomb and lunch bar mixed 😍 so tasty and double thick!
Such awesome service. The waiteress made a tinfoil swan for my potato chips which was so cool and made it personal thanks Katie T for the best service!
So keen so keen to go back and try more of their shakes and burgers 🍔
Haven't been here in a while and I know how delicious their burgers are so I decided to have dinner here! I had the Zelig burger patty which is vegetarian-falafel and onion and hummus, so amazing. Then I had the sweet potato fries! They have a huge range of burgers to suit everybody, from vegan to ostrich! The milkshakes are out of this world, double thick and you can mix flavours!
We sat upstairs for a change which was nice, the decor is quirky and unique and the waitress was superb! This is one of my favorites!
We had a triple date here about 2 weeks ago to celebrate grad. Real good food, value for money and it was very filling and satisfying. The service wasn't too bad too. Go try it out for ya' self.
Had dinner here for a friend's birthday a while back. Our server was awesome and really looked after our big group very well. Their burgers are some of the best in town and their milkshakes are great too! I would definitely go back!
Such a nice 70s diner styled venue. Downstairs you can't book but upstairs you can. There's also the funky The Waiting Room bar on the 3rd floor, which is overlooks Long street. The burgers are super tasty (friends) and the soy patty vegetarian burgers are seriously tasty. They also have the most vegetarian burger patty types I've ever seen and they are all very good. They also have the best sweet potato fries. Winning item on the menu is the variety of their "diner" gourmet super-delicious milkshakes - with lemon meringue tart flavour the number one of the lot! I love eating a burger with friends here.
This place is absolutely amazing. It's a little gem. The food was outstanding l. Our waitress was very friendly and it was just a joy to be there. Not too noisey.
The Best Burgers in town 🍔
I had the Little Miss Piggy with sweet potato chips and it was very tasty and absolutely delicious!
Service was great & the food was fast even though it was First Thursday and really full.
Highly recommend 💯
Milkshakes 👌.
We took the kids for milkshakes after a little hike on the mountain. Kids had Milo and smartie milkshakes, we had mango lassis. All were excellent, but not inexpensive. (160 for four plus tip).
Setting is quite fun, overlooking Long Street, although unfortunately the upstairs balcony was closed.
I love, love, love Royale!
Awesome restaurant with a broad selection of gourmet burgers - a few of which are vegetarian or vegan.
I love coming here because they have some of the best sweet potato fries in CT, an absolutely lovely staff, and a menu that caters to every taste.
I love this place. It's a quaint restaurant at the top of one of Cape Town's most well known streets. This place is always what I'm feeling. The food is delicious and the staff is always lovely. A bonus is that they stay open late!
My favourite is their classic burger (sensational) matched with their fresh strawberry and mint milkshake (life changing).
Do yourself a favour and check this place out!
There's a reason why this restaurant is so well known! The food is fantastic! Honestly great food, and awesome vibe. Each time I go I try to have a different combination of burger, fries and a shake. Last I went with the Sweet Petunia burger, sweet potato fries and ended off with a choc brownie shake. Such a great meal!
Royale Eatery remains firmly at the number one spot on my ‘Best Burgers in Cape Town’ list. They are simply a must. Their milkshakes are fantastic too. Highly recommended.
Legendary Cape Town eatery that started the gourmet burger craze years ahead of the others.
Perfectly situated on Long street with an appropriately bohemian atmosphere. Always impresses out of town guests as well as a favourite for locals.
Impressively, the food quality has not changed in all the years. Still some of the most interesting and delicious burgers in town. Great fries, awesome milkshakes.
Staff are friendly and always accomodate walk-ins, although I recommend booking a table in the upstairs area if you want a quieter dinner. Downstairs gets quite busy in peak times.
Absolutely delicious burgers and the waiters match the service levels....(sizzling)... Yum... They have this cream cheese mousse that is the cherry on top....
I came here for dinner yesterday evening with my siblings. The food is spectacular. I highly recommend the el burro burger. My siblings had the classic burger and they were all great. The milkshakes are incredible and we'll priced.
This is a cute little restaurant on Long Street. Went by for lunch today and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service was great. Really friendly waiters. It's cool place with flowers on the tables to lighten up anyone's mood. The presentation of the food was really impressive. Loved it. The food itself was a little bland. I would've loved a little bit of flavor in the burger. I would still go back though.
My favourite burger spot in Cape Town! They have such a huge selection. I personally love the Classic Feta Royale on either beef or chicken and with tomato relish instead of basting. Their caramelized onions are heavenly. You can have half/half of their sides which include normal fries, sweet potato fries and salad. They have the best sweet potato fries around! Their salads are also great because they include grated feta and beetroot. Their milkshakes are also worth a special mention: they are so thick and creamy! You can also mix flavours. My favourites are: nutticrust, Romany Cream, chocolate brownie and milo. Visiting the Royale Eatery is always such a treat.
Today was my second visit at Royale Eatery and I was really pleased with the entire experience. When we entered the waitress took us to a table and she immediately offered us water out of nowhere (this was especially nice because she made a good observation on her part - we were dusty and hot from our hike).
The menu layout and look is my absolute favorite!
Okay, on to the food: I ordered the BopBop (fun to say) which is basically a standard burger which comes as either chicken or beef, this was amazing because the mayo and BBQ sauce was next level. Not to mention the chili sauce on the side. I chose the sweet potato fries, but they offer a really large selection of other sides. BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES EVER.
The drinks: refreshing mango and mint smoothie!
Can't wait to try the desserts.
PS: I'm not vegan(obviously) but I'm so happy that they have a large variety of vegan and vegetarian options.
As a huge burger lover Royale is one of the places on top of my list. The burgers are really good, and the staff are really friendly and accommodating. Its a place you need to try while in town.
Even though this place is always packed the staff is so accommodating and helpful and will get you the best seat . Haven't been here in a while and definitively not disappointed : food quality is outstanding, atmosphere is just perfect . The best way to be treated for a birthday celebrations
Lovely small hipster restaurant in centre town. Young crowd. Milkshakes are great, a real sweet treat would be the honeycomb and lunchbar chocolate. It is famous for their burgers. I am supremely impressed with their selection. Service for Cape Town isn't as long as normal Cape Town service thankfully.
Wow! I'm so impressed with this place. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was great as well. I ordered the Hawaiian Piggy burger which was definitely a good choice. The patty was so juicy and the flavours all work so well together. The sweet potato fries were also delicious. They even folded my friend's takeaway burger into a pretty swan. I'll definitely return on my next trip to Cape Town.
The royal eatery is a trendy food joint in long street. It usually gets very busy at night so it would be better to make a booking to avoid disappointment. When you make a booking you are seated on the upstairs part of the restaurant . The restaurant has a great atmosphere. The waiters and waitresses are incredibly attentive and friendly. The upstairs (booking ) section of the restaurant does not have a pizza oven so have can order anything else on the menu. The restaurant is vegetarian & vegan friendly. The burgers are incredibly delicious and the portions are generous. I would recommend Royale Eatery before a night out on Long street.
I love the Royale Eatery!!
Amazing Burgers it definitely gives the big Burger joints a run for their money.
Such a lovely and unique setting. I would recommend it to anyone.
This little place is tucked away up a narrow, steep staircase. The decor is trendy and quite quirky.
I had the Royale burger with Mozzarella. The patty was deliciously most with just enough toppings and cheese. I didn't get asked how I would like my patty done; luckily it was medium like I would've asked for it. I would've liked a tangy, mayonnaise to go with it, but thats just my preference. The Penny Royale Tea was amazing with rooibos and cinnamon - would definitely try their other cocktails next time. Didn't get to the millshakes, but the selection looked yummy. All and all a very nice outing
I can't believe I've not written a review of Royale as yet. I really really love their burgers, which I always have with sweet potato fries as this is one of the few places doesn't burn them. The wait staff is really friendly, but perhaps I'm biased as my most recent waitress was gorgeous. You can always tell that a place makes really great burgers if you needn't have one with a vast array of exotic toppings - just a cheeseburger (sometimes with bacon) is enough for me to have 'the time of my life'. They offer a vast array of milkshakes and my favourite is the lunchbar milkshake - it is soooo refreshing.
The atmosphere is not quite hipster but not quite burger bar either, it's good for a lunch between colleagues or an afterwork burger for a young professional.
Milkshakes, breakfasts and of course their well known burgers! This is definitely not a disappointment. I've been there numerous of times and I've always had a great time with friends. It's central and funky looking that adds to the vibe!
Whether you go for drinks or for an eat out it's certainly an option 👍🏼
There is a large variety of different burgers as well as a large menu full of delicious options for anyone's taste.
If you love milkshakes, go share a large milkshakes with friends! Oreo is my favourite.
Very cosy space tucked in nicely on the ever so bustling long street. Friendly staff and service is great. Definitely a very enjoyable meal and keen to go back and try out their other menu offerings.
I had heard so much about Royale in many different magazines and on various websites, but most people I spoke to about it said it was overly hyped and not as great as it sounds.
My experience, however, was to the contrary.
As soon as you sit down they bring you water, and when you order your food they bring a holder with various sauces and sour cream.
The value for money is excellent considering the portion size and the sides.
I had the ostrich burger because it looked interesting, but it didn't taste that different to regular beef patty to be honest.
The milkshake selection here is large, but they aren't very creative (most of theme are themed on commercial chocolate brands) and they're super thick, but the honeycomb shake that I had wasn't bad at all.
The atmosphere here is lively and I certainly enjoyed my experience.
I really enjoyed my meal. The hamburgers are as great as everyone says they are. It can get quite busy on some days but it's definitely worth it.
Tasty burgers and a cool atmosphere but the service can be better. I went here specifically to compare to other burger joints and Jerry's and Craft Burger are still my favourite.
I love the vibe of the restaurant and that there are many options on the menu! Service was a little slow however the food was amazing! The burgers are definitely what this please is known for
The Royale Eatery was good when I first tried it out a few years back but I can't say I'm still a fan. There's been so many more burger restaurants popping up lately and I'm afraid the Royale Eatery is struggling to compete.
Love the Royale Eatery!
Their burgers are definitely in my top 5, I've been to the RE a few times and it never disappoints. I usually gt the sweet potato fries which are awesome. Lastly I always end of a meal at the RE with a milk shake, with all the great flavours I usually struggle to decide.
I will definitely go back😃
We visited Royale for our Saturday lunch. The restaurant was already quite full, considering they'd only been open an hour. We were seated and ordered shortly after - me, the Veggie Special burger and my partner the Santori. The buns are truly great - they keep their shape, and don't get soggy not matter how juicy your burger is! The burgers live up to their reputations. The fries are good too! We also ordered milkshakes, and while they were indulgent and yummy, they weren't anything awe - inspiring. The service was friendly enough.
Hands down some of the BEST burgers and milkshakes in town!
If you're a vegetarian burger lover like we are,we highly sugggest the Googmooley or the Zelig.
And if you're a meat burger lover, definitely try the Sweet Petunia!
Tip: Opt for half sweet potato fries and half salad with your burger (best of both worlds ;)).
The milkshake flavours are all amazing (and the best part is that you can combine two flavours). Although we haven't tried them all we really recommend the 600ml brownie and smartie milkshake (spoonfuls of delicious, soft-chunk brownies with crunchy smarties). YUM!
Great place for lunch or dinner - service is also good!
Royale has long been a 'brand' of the ever growing, competitive gourmet burger race in Cape Town. With their thick and potent milkshakes, available in a variety of flavours and options, coupled with delicious gourmet burgers, Royale Eatery is definitely one of the best in Cape Town. Though, with the variety of great burger joints now available, Royale is seeming to lose some of its defining factor. I hope to see more special feats of food coming out of here soon.
On my most recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised to see their success in producing high quality burgers even for larger events, albeit not at the level they usually are. Some may find their service a bit underwhelming or slow, however the service is still good.
Overall, Royale is a must try. It may or may not be your thing, but it definitely is worth the shot.
90%.
The original gourmet burger place. This was the trend setter and never fails to disappoint. The burgers are the best and the toasted bun is a gam changer. The milkshakes are world class, with honeycomb coming in at number 1. Really great experience on long street with good service. Worth the inconvenience of the lack of parking. As a burger person, this would definitely be a place i would recommend.
Lekker lekker
My fave burgers place in Cape Town. Vegetarian burgers are awesome, service is perfect and incredible milkshakes. You cannot come to Cape Town and don`t try this spot!
Came here for a themed night (Taylor Swift), and I had so much fun! I felt safe, and I love that they have so many theme nights, however the drinks were rather expensive. When coming to themed nights, I recommend knowing the words to all the songs, otherwise you will probably feel a bit out of place. Also, try to dress up according to theme!
Attended comedy show and it was great. High quality, small crowd, great evening
Great music. Bar has a menu with prices which is nice. Young crowd. Spacious balcony. And I'll say it again, Great Music.

Went there for a 'Euphoria' themed night event for the first time. Was fun considering the size of the floor space. Balcony view overlooking Long Street and the other "club spaces" - also had a rooftop view. Drinks specials and entrance fee were decent. Sound system and projector displaying visuals was good - main dance floor wood creaks alot though
Great venue if you are looking to host around 150-200 guests. Situated within a mall-type setting, so on site security comes as an added benefit. Houses 2 different bar areas, a nicely sized foyer to set up a welcome drinks station or cheese and wine area or garland for pictures. Spotless ablution facilities with several cubicles to avoid queueing, and modern finishing all round. Not too shabby! 👌
Enjoyed an event held at the club and boy was it fun !!
It was great, free entry and the music is lit.
Music is fire. Prime events are always well curated. Just wish the audience was slightly averaging maybe +3 years older than it currently is. But I guess I'm the ancient problem who must go rest 🤣... the music and concepts prime brings are irreplaceable though 😭😭😭
Staff was very friendly. And the dj's played jams.
Young crowd. Dope vibes ⚘ depends on your taste in music, but definitely fun. Bouncers are a bit strict with their 420 policy as in no tolerance which is kinda disappointing. However if you like a younger vibe and more HipHop vibes a good place to visit. ( Also depends on the event)
The vibe and music was bazz 🥳🎉🍾
