Review Signal Restaurant Waterfront - Cape Town Central

We enjoyed a very pleasant High Tea with our moms. The delicatessens were incredibly tasty with a wonderful taste variety of sweets and savories. I thoroughly enjoyed the tea selections and the explanation of the preparation thereof and the brewing times. If you don't enjoy teas, you can have coffees served in various ways. Customer service was impeccable from the moment we entered the parking area.

We had the most wonderful experience, the waiter was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and constantly refilling water and wine bottles. The menu option is different from traditional restaurants, with sections labeled sweet, spicy, etc. rather than snacks, main and dessert. Very large wine cellar with many options.

Amazing evening here for my brother’s birthday. We had the tasting menu, which was absolutely delicious, and the wine pairing, which featured interesting wines that complemented our food perfectly! The restaurant also offered us complimentary glasses of sparkling wine at the end, which was very sweet. Great service throughout the night from Eric and Brian (who gave us fantastic info about the wine!!). Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!

I rarely write reviews here on Google. But i had to take some time to write down this: They have a very original and creative menu idea to allow you to explore all South African flavors as possible! SERVICE 10/10 , FOOD 100/10, VIBE/Ambiance: 9.5/10. This restaurant is becoming my 1# place in Cape town. We had the Beef ribs, Curry Malay Chicken Prawns and the Lamp chops. Not a single one disappointed me. If you consider yourself brave when it comes to food and flavors; please go for the curry! What a surprising complementing different palette flavors! Phakama was our waitress and she made our night extra special, she was nice, friendly and gave us extra recommendations!! definately coming back again and I’m recommending this place as a must for all foodies who visit Cape Town. Definitely coming back again!

Outstanding service but the food didn't meet our expectation( I.e complicated Japanese ginger pickles were sliced finely in my tuna tartar (????)) my steak suppose to be medium rare but it was well done ( they’ve fixed it ) and the icing of the carrot cake tasted like marzipan .

Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. The restaurant is very fancy and well appointed. Beautiful setting with lovely views of the waterfront. Staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was delicious! Plenty of gluten free options (including yummy bread). They were able to modify any meals. I had the risotto, which was savory and delicious. The wine was also wonderful. I highly recommend Signal for it's dining experience - you won't be disappointed!

Amazing breakfast at the Signal restaurant. Besides the gorgeous views, we were spoilt with an amazing spread and superb service. A special thanks to our waiter Honorine, Lindi and Bulelewa who made our morning very special. Will definitely visit again soon!

Delightful restaurant in the beautiful Cape Grace Hotel. I only had the opportunity to have breakfasts here, but the food was beautifully prepared and the service could not have been more pleasant.

Had light lunch ... Very good fish cakes. Large portion. Waitress had zero clue about beers available, keep saying they had draught beer, but could not say which beers, even after she went to check. Wine list good, but prices ridiculous. Overall, We won't be back. Perhaps foreign tourists will put up with it, but as locals there is far better service and value elsewhere and close by.

Menu not to my liking, too much chilli & spice. Pudding was delicious. Service 5 ⭐.

One of the most amazing restaurants we’ve ever had dinner at. The springbok was exceptional and so was the selection of wines and whisky’s. The service was almost Michelin-star level. We paid less 80 euros all in all.

Classy, vintage atmosphere. The restaurant is part of Cape Grace hotel so you can just ask for the wonderful staff at reception to point you in the direction of the restaurant. Preferably try make a reservation, but if you haven't made one you won't run into any hassles either, the host will gladly find you an open seat. If you sit down at Signal Restaurant amd leave WITHOUT having had their Cheesecake, you have made a grave mistake.
Wine Dine and Play
Named for the cannon shot heard every day at noon in Cape Town, Signal is an upscale South African restaurant located at the Cape Grace hotel. It had been a fun day for my third day in Cape Town, South Africa, driving along the Cape peninsula, seeing an African Penguin Colony, visited the south western most point on the continent, and eating great lunch at Two Oceans Restaurant at the point. After visited the point, I drove up to Signal Hill where there were fantastic views of Cape Town, Robben Island, and the Table Mountain National Park. Now it was time for dinner, and what a wonderful dinner it was. I arrived a little early before the restaurant opened, so I began by enjoying a drink at the hotel bar which was one floor below the restaurant. Very crowded, but I was able to pass the time by. After being seated, but before looking at the menu, I looked at the dining room around me, and it was stunningly beautiful, with partitions constructed of old oak, murals of Cape town and local scenes on the walls, and fantastically designed chandeliers dangling from the ceiling. Their semi-private dining area, or large party table was wonderfully displayed, but in my opinion, placed in the wrong area of the dining room. This why I refer to it as semi-private, since you have to walk by it on your way to the restroom. Remarkable food and service, and the Chef did a superb job. This was the only South African restaurant I ate at that had a tasting menu that had one vineyard paired with the entire menu. Now this is common in the United States in places like Food 101 in Atlanta, Georgia, or the Harvest Moon Cafe In Napa, California.
