Understand in 2016 Truth coffee had the number 1 spot for best coffee shop in the world. Visited them today and must say, if we were not accompanied by family that knows the history, I would have given it a miss due to looks and area, at first glance. What a mistake it would have been. Great service, incredible coffee's and cake selection. Understand why it is so popular to locals and tourists.

Very great spot in the city of cape town. Excellent coffee, snacks and ambiance. In industrial style very nicely staffs deliver a very high quality of their products. It was awesome. We enjoyed it very much to spend some time in here and appreciated that super service. Thanks a lot and see you there next time again

I really enjoyed it in here. I had a hot chocolate (with oat milk) and mushroom and aubergine on toast, my friend had a coffee and eggs benedict. We both enjoyed our meals and ended up buying some cakes on the way out too. Inside was lovely, very unique with the items inside and I really loved the decor. The staff were also very pleasant and made sure each person knew what to order. There were plenty of options and if I go back to Cape Town I will be sure to pay a visit again!

Is this the world’s greatest coffee shop? Yes, yes it is. Expect to spend the better part of your morning here, grazing over croissants, maple pecan pastries, and espresso bacon jam. Spend some time in the bakery section to ask about what’s new and special today. Try a few different drinks and accept that you’ll have enough energy to solve world issues by the afternoon.

I've always wanted to visit this coffee shop and today was the day we visited this coffee shop and oh boy what a treat the atmosphere is amazing the decor is amazing the staff is absolutely amazing and so friendly and helpful and then there is the coffee and oh boy so many options to choose from and its amazing one coffee is definitely not enough with a visit 😋 the food is so fresh and very tasty we had the beef burger meal and it was Amazing !!!
We got some treats for dessert, and they have a wide variety to choose from, like chocolate brownie and carrot cake and even a vegan friendly desert called chocolate orange tart, we enjoyed the Lemon Meringue and Chocolate Brownie and a Caramel desert and it was a treat.
The menu is so cool, and once again, i must just mention the vibe is amazing as you can sit inside or outside depending on your mood =)
There is also a parking bay just across the road from Truth Coffee ☕️

This place is probably the best coffee shop I've ever been to. I adore coffee and when I walked into this incredibly quirky artistic. The staff are incredible. Get there in the morning and smell the freshly baked pastries warm straight from the oven. Get there on a day where they're roasting it's loud but it smells divine. I have recommended this place to everyone I know who's gone over to South Africa. And I highly recommend it to you.

The place to go to for coffee! This place is worth the hype. I only ordered a black coffee and it was extremely good. Best of all… the place! So cool! Worth going there just for the decor! Even the staffs outfit were extra. Had cool and funny hats for example. And the menu were also something original and well thought of. Kitchen close at 16.00 which is good to know.

What an experience. I come here regularly when I visit Cape Town. Absolutely worth every cent. Amazing steam pump style decor and friendly staff. High quality food and the best coffee you’ll ever taste in South Africa. Unisex restrooms, work stations an communal tables where you can meet people from around the globe. What a unique coffee shop. If you’re looking for a truly steam punk-inspired environment, look no further than Truth. This establishment has great coffee and options to enjoy with your beverage of choice, but it really is the environment itself that makes this trip worth it. Even the servers’ attire makes you feel all the more immersed in the environment, as if this place were a coffee shop you might find somewhere in Disneyland.

I think the vibe inside is the main goal of the place, like being allocated to another time in the middle of a crowded city like Cape Town. Food amazing if they get your order right,because for us after the 4th attempt was the right one. Also the prices not very affordable to anyone wanting to taste the extraordinary flavors of a proper coffee. Would say that having a moody waiter is not really nice,specially after you having a really long morning. But yes, overall is a really nice experience to come and sit for a very very nice coffee.

Nice coffee cannot complain even though I must admit the buzz made around the place might not be justified to grant this place the best coffee shop.
Haas just few steps away has a lot more vibe and more friendly team and still gets the wow effect right when coming in.

Every single element of decor, waitron uniforms, menu planning and different ways to have your cuppa has been painstakingly thought through. Had we found the place sooner, we would have spent every day there. I’m so bored with the usual coffee offerings like cortado, cappuccino, flat white so this was a feast. The chocolate eclair is the best I have ever had and I’m an avid baker. I’m going for the avo on toast next time amongst other things. Well done guys, I wish you all the very best. Oh and there is no Truth in our home town of Joburg so I’m throwing a big hint here.

Ken Walton, your AMAZING concept is failing because the staff are letting you down. I went to Home Affairs and stumbling upon your place was the highlight of a very bad day. Always wanted to go and experience Truth! Waiter never once came back to ask how things were, coffee was cold, quinoa salad was shocking!! Drenched in some sauce!! But I persisted and bought some coffee which tasted excellent when made at home. Really sad because no matter how fantastic the decor or good the vibe, people come BACK for good coffee and food.

Beautiful people, beautiful food and great coffee!! Once we discovered the cafe we had 6 days left on our holiday and we spent 4 mornings there for breakfast. The food was incredible, tried something new everyday! Everyone working there are lovely and so helpful. The theme is great, makes for a really great atmosphere!! Highly recommend going at least once because you will definitely go back �

My companion enjoyed the food, but I wanted to switch from the juice to the tea with my croissant and I was refused because the juice was already being poured. Not a great customer experience considering I didn't even drink it until later back in my place.

We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and from there it went downhill unfortunately. Our waitress had a very nonchalant attitude, we received our pastries(warm then) and then proceeded to wait about 20 minutes for our coffees,which were spilled, and by then our pastries were cold. While we waited other tables came in, were helped and received food and beverages. When we mentioned this to our waitress she responded by saying the place is busy and everyone wants their coffee. The coffee and atmosphere was good though.

I had a chicken wrap the morning of 11 July 2018 at (C/Town/Green Point). I've had wraps elsewhere and this was one of the worst. The chicken was dry and chewy, I suspect chicken wasn't fresh hence sauce/mayo over kill. I wanted to go back and complain but was rushing to an appointment.

Coming from Melbourne,Australia we are very much spoilt for coffee and the cafes in which we have our coffee,some may say I’m a coffee snob but trust me when I say I know a good coffee from one that’s not so good.
Truth is one of the best places for coffee and a bite to eat,coffee is 10/10,food lovely and the staff awesome the vibe at Truth is just awesome I hope to be back before I leave,If planing a trip to Cape Town this HAS TO BE on your itinerary.

mmmm...coffee was cold, cake nothing special and credit card rejected ...waitresses kept asking me if I had another card but saw my cash in purse ,big song and dance ,called someone else over ,yep card rejected again ...so reluctantly gave cash ,and very worrying went straight to Specialist Bike shop ,purchased an item no problem and card worked fine thereafter everywhere else ..felt uneasy by the performance by staff ..besides the pretty picture by barrister on top of coffee..I have tasted better and hotter elsewhere

Coffee was cold. Food was cold too - and there were no toppings to the croissant, but we asked for cheese as a side (the cheese was R28 for a pathetic serving of cheese!)
All overpriced. Very disappointing too because the vibe there is great (if a bit pretentious). The awesome, elaborate decour thinly veils a less-than-average cafe.
