Review Chefs Warehouse - Cape Town Central

I have not been back here for a while and I have to say that its one of the few places that I feel have not dropped the ball in terms of service and quality of food. It makes me want to jump on a plane to South America again. I love the tapa's style options because it gives us the opportunity to try such a variety of dishes. As usual though we always look at the next table to make a wish list for our next visit. I wish I had a stomach to fill up on everything on the menu. If you not sure what to order the waiter or host will gladly fill you in on some wine and food items, it won't help narrow you choice at all because they just make everything sound even more appetizing but you still want to do it

What an amazing dinner experience! One of the best tapas restaurants in Cape Town - a must-try if you’re visiting and love Spanish food. Very cosy and intimate setting, and very good and quick service. Highlights were the tuna belly, bistro solomillo (beef), and seared trout. We didn’t like the croquetas as much (weren’t done similar to Spain, potato and ingredients weren’t blended enough) but it was a great dinner overall, and would definitely come back

Our favorite meal in Cape Town. Wow. Every small plate was great but we loved the cauliflower risotto and the oysters. The service was relaxed (no pressure at all to turn our table) and the atmosphere was unpretentious. Overall, great value for money given the quality of the food and the lovely experience. Note: it's a set menu - you can optionally add starters like the oysters and dessert. They don't take reservations. We came early on a Friday (~5 pm) and were seated immediately. It would have been worth a wait.

Excellent experience. Got a table after an hour wait. You can wait at a nearby bar and they will call you. Service was so good, and pretty much all of the dishes in the set menu gave us a new taste experience. Good wine recommendations and pleasant atmosphere. Definitely recommended. Only downside was that our table was way too small...

I went there around 5 PM and they served only tapas. It was great as I get to choose 4 out of 6 or 7 available dishes and taste a bit of everything! All dishes were very delicious, and I added a dessert which was the highlight - white chocolate and yogurt pana cotta with strawberry sorbet was just incredible. Very pleasant dining experience thanks to the attentive staff and casual atmosphere.

We knew the view would be spectacular, it truly is; but what we did not adequately anticipate was just how flavourful and beautifully presented the food would be. It certainly goes into my box of memorable meals. You will not walk away hungry, we could not finish everything, we shared the Tapas Menu for 2. The service is superb and the wine is not over-priced either. We will be back!

One price for 2-people servings of 6 dishes, the restaurant has an impressive array of delicious small-plate meals. By the time our group got to the 6th plate, we were full. An absolutely delicious place, great atmosphere. Go early or make a reservation. If the restaurant is full, the staff will escort you outside to a nearby bar, seat you until you're called. We had fun at both places. I didn't give a 5 star because 1) the food was a tad salty and 2) I think the eating dish should be changed after the 1st series of meal so as to not mix the various flavors. Outstanding professional staff!! I'll be back for more.

Everyone you meet that is there, everyone, will say you "the best dinner I've ever eat" They're right! So... Go! Taste! Repeat! Very very good food, everything is well prepared and served. Let them serve you a good South African wine, some fusion food and look at the restaurant, how is built, the art and love they gave to give you a great experience, in food, drink and smiles. The best dinner ever. And lunch too!

Really tasty food. We went for lunch where the restaurant does a set menu of small plates (tapas style). 8 dishes in total served in 3 groupings. All plates are fresh, picturesque and most importantly tasty. The dishes include fresh fish with a couple of meat and vegetarian dishes. You can supplement the menu with additional starters. Quite an extensive wine list. The restaurant doesn't take bookings so you may need to wait during busy periods. You're able to grab a drink and wait at the bar if this is the case. Staff were very friendly and offered a good service. It's a relaxed vibe with communal seating across long canteen style tables. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Bill for 2 came to around 1000(ZAR) which included a couple of glasses of wine. If you are in Cape Town I'd strongly recommend this place.

The food here is excellent and the vibe very cool. The service was good but the restaurant a bit hot. We had the tapas for two menu with 8 dishes. Then chocolate tart. Delicious! We'll definitely return -- the menu changes daily.

I have eaten at Chefs Warehouse more than once and have always found their strongest suit to be seafood. They did not disappoint. One of my favourite dishes to cook is risotto and in addition to texture, flavour is paramount. I have had one other onion risotto that competes with the onion risotto I enjoyed at CW. Cheese and onion is a classic combination and this was such a satisfying execution. Vegetarians are accommodated well too. The wine list is excellent and while my last meal was a generous treat, I would certainly cough up my own money to return. It’s a course of tapas to share between two. No reservations.
Kat Goodwin
An overall sensational food experience! Every plate was executed beautifully and bursting with flavour. A fraction less salt would have been fine but that's purely my taste. The portion sizes of the tasting menu for 2 were huge and we didn't have room for dessert. The wine selection was a perfect match for all the dishes. The staff provided delighfully top notch service and I look forward to returning again.

What an incredible experience. The food here is to die for and the service exquisite. Our server suggested a delicious wine that went with everything we ordered and the price was exceptionally reasonable for the quality and magnificent handcrafted dishes. It should be on anyone’s Cale Town bucket list

Amazing place! I am vegetarian and went by myself. I could choose 4 out of the 8 dishes from the "tapas for 2" menu. Because there were only 3 dishes I liked, they had an extra one for vegetarians that was not on the menu. Every dish was a delight, a great mixture of different flavours. So tasty that I don't have the words to describe this great experience. I guess they change the menu regularly so there's always something different. The ambient was informal "hipstery" but the service was more of a high classy restaurant. Definitely go there if you have the chance!

Chefs Warehouse & Canteen in Cape Town was one of the culinary highlights of our trip. As so often it was due to chance that we "found" this place. We were on the road in Cape Town and just came from the car rental company. Actually the plan was to visit one of the highly acclaimed steakhouses of the city - the NV-80 Grill & Bar - but it was just after five o'clock in the afternoon and we obviously hadn't had enough for breakfast - at least a slight feeling of hunger told us to have a look at the restaurants that were already open in the immediate vicinity of the car rental. As far as I remember it was not Google Maps this time, which made us visit the Chefs Warehouse, but the classic "tip from the guy on the street". We were told that this place is actually more of a shop where chefs buy equipment and ingredients, but we should give it a try - maybe it's already open and they have a small snack there for sure... When we entered, we knew what the guy meant, the shelves were filled with all kinds of spices, plenty of sauces, good oils and fine vinegars. In addition, there was also the aforementioned equipment such as knives, sieves, pots, pans and much more that made my cook-heart beat faster. In the middle of the warehouse the premises were furnished rustically with wooden tables and benches - not the ambience here really reminded of a canteen, but obviously the term is to be understood differently here. When people like to spend their break somewhere to eat something, in South Africa it is already a canteen... We settled down directly at a window with view to the street. The waitress welcomed us cordially, but pointed out that we were quite early (the sale of goods runs all day long - but food was only available in the late afternoon) - when it became clear that we are "not from the city", but came from "far, far away", the first offer to the guys from Germany was "You guys wanna grab a beer first, right? After that each of us got a Windhoek Premium Draught - as we were proudly assured, brewed according to the German Purity Law. The beer was cool and tasty, but we were there by car, so after number one it was already over and we switched to mineral water during the course of the meal. Concerning the choice of food, we relied on the advice of our waitress - there were South African tapas! We heard about this for the first time, but we were to be surprised in the most positive sense optically as also in terms of ... Because of character limitation you find the full-story at foodadvisor.de ...Last but not least we shared something sweet - in this case a lime cream, garnished with some abrasion from the lime peel, some pistachios, blackberries and a sweet cherry. This was accompanied by a cassis sauce, which harmonized perfectly with the very refreshing cream. After the experiences I had with the Chefs Warehouse, I can give you a clear recommendation to visit this restaurant if you are ever in town. Feel free to follow my Google Maps profile, check out my other reviews and be sure to visit foodadvisorblog!

Wonderful little place serving exquisite food in tapas style. The menu is a fixed menu and can be selected for 2 people. The food was absolutely great and comes in courses. This place does not do reservations and is all walk in. Its a cosy place on bree street and worth a visit.
Rochelle Fung
The food is exceptional with reasonable price. Every dish is share dish and they are mostly delicious. There is improvement space on service which I feel like I am not being welcomed by certain waiter.
Mitch Ginsburg
Food was AMAZING! Although they say it's a 2-person 8 dish tasting menu, I went by myself, and they allowed me to pick 4 of the tapas style dishes for half the price. I deferred the choices to the chef, but everything I had was amazing. It's a popular spot, though, so be prepared to wait a bit to get in.

My wife and I were looking for a place for lunch while staying at the Cape Heritage Hotel when Chef's Canteen was suggested. At first glance we weren't sure the "Tapas for Two" menu was what we were in the mood for. I'm so happy we decided to stick around and try it anyway. One of the dishes in the first course, the calamari, was one of the best dishes I've ever had. The rest of the food was excellent. We had such a wonderful time, we returned for lunch again on the last day of our trip.
Dionne Mutsonziwa
We went for lunch and had the tapas tasting menu! It was unbelievablly delicious every dish the ingredients were used with such integrity and they were the heroe of the dish! The service was friendly and efficient! The price of lunch was decent especially for the quality of food!!! If you are a foodie this is a must do in Capetown!
Michele Alexander
What an incredible eating experience every course was mind blowing one of my best lunches ever Hake perfectly cooked mushroom risotto melt in your mouth calamari lightly fried kingclip with fresh ginger slow cooked brisket can't wait to go back 5 stars

We were lucky enough to have lunch at Chefs Warehouse and dinner at Pot Luck Club. Chefs Warehouse deserves the kudos ...best food ever, staff super efficient, everybody friendly and warm and most enjoyably - a relaxed ease about the marvelous food and best of all - no long complicated booking process. What a delightful place - best food in Cape Town right now.

This place is Awesome!! Hands down the best place in Cape Town! It's got the best wine & craft beers. Above all, the food is Sensational . Beautifully designed restaurant! Awesome staff and lovely owners!
Leon Stevens
Had an amazing lunch there. Food was terrific. Well seasoned beautifully presented. And every plate a masterpiece. The risotto and vegetarian dishes surprised this meat lover with this depth and balance of flavour. A must for any foodlover who visits the mother city.

Went for the first time last night and was blown away! Every dish was just phenomenal - every bite was savoured and just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. The communal tables and sharing of food make for an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere, and paired with all-round amazing staff a visit to the Chef's Warehouse makes for a truly unforgettable night out!

This redefines Tapas, and in many ways, food expectations in Cape Town, an adventure for the taste buds without leaving place for a big mac to fill voids. Awesomely well driven, spectacular food experience, and these are adjectives I rarely use.
Bernadette Brown
Great food! Pleasantly surprised by the dishes and the staff were amazing. Attention to detail 10/10

Went there for the first time with my Boyfriend to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and as soon as I walked through those doors I was absolutely gobsmacked, I thought to myself how on earth could a tiny place like this make proper food....... Well needless to say as soon as we sat down the staff were so attentive, every single course that we had was explained in the most amazing detail. When our first 3 courses came out and I took that first mouthful I knew that I was in food heaven, words cannot describe how divine the food was definitely an experience for the books.
Ernie Dickens
This unassuming bistro-like canteen is unbelievable. It seats those fortunate enough to get there early to some of the most delicious Tapas dishes I've ever tasted. Top that off with excellent wines, drinks and service for an unforgettable dining experience. They close at 20;00 so go early. Fantastic!!
Tamar Winer
The best dinner i ever had! Don't miss it!!! A Cape Town must!

Lovely experience! The food, the service, the hospitality were all amazing. If you want to experience different foods then this is definitely the place. Oysters, bread with cheese and the tapas are all refreshingly tasty. Definitely recommended of you are in the neighborhood.

Lovely experience, good service and super accommodating to our dietary requirements. But, I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best fine dining experiences I’ve had. The food or combinations didn’t really blow me away. It was good though.
Leigh Holloway
Really good food experience. All the “courses” that we had were original and great combinations....and very tasty.
Our welcome could’ve been a bit better

Oh my what an amazing restaurant
The bar was great and the bar tenders were totally engaging
The food is just spectacular
Every mouthful a new explosive burst of flavour
The Creme brûlée is the best I have ever had
Such a worthwhile evening out
Katya De Magalhaes
Absolutely Devine! Will definitely be coming back again.

Only thing to note is that you won’t be paying on average R420 for 2 but it’s definitely worth every cent.
Chris Youlton
One of the best meals we have ever had, at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great tapas meal in a great setting.
SimonThePieMan
Oysters are the most amazing crazy tastes I have ever had, I loved the kingklip dish. Wine list is well priced and good selection. The no reservations bar under the restaurant was an incredible experience. I thought I would never give 5 out of 5 however this really deserves it.

An amazing lunch experience! Impeccable service. Dining alone I got a choice of 4 tapas. I chose the kingklip sashimi, crispy calamari, mushroom risotto and the beef brisket with polenta bites and butternut purée. My favourite was the risotto! Better than any risotto dish I've ever had (and I've been to Italy!). The kingklip sashimi was a close second. The flavours just worked so well and it was very refreshing on the palate. Portions are deceiving. They look tiny, but I'm way beyond the point of being stuffed! For what you get, I really don't think this is expensive. Will definitely return.

Update: returned for lunch, opting for similar dishes to what I had before - yellow fish sashimi with Peruvian pink peppercorns, pickled onions and coconut milk. Although lovely, I much preferred the flavour profile of the kingklip sashimi. Next was the infamous risotto done with basil pesto oil and sundried tomatoes. Gorgeous! The next dish was inspired by Thali - Liam’s restaurant in Gardens - the tandoori chicken on paratha. Very yummy morsels - but felt it to be not within the ‘theme’ of the dishes served here. Last up was the panfried silver fish which was beyond amazing!

This place remains a favourite of mine.

Super trendy place, with a weird little bar to sit in if you arrive early.

The food was great. Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

The service was friendly, but I thought it was way too fast. the service was too fast. We spent exactly an hour there, from start to finish. I know they have sittings, but it felt as though our waiter was trying to turn our table as fast as possible. Plates were taken away before they were completely finished and the next course was out as soon as the previous was finished. After our meal we still had some wine(about a glass each) as it is crazy to drink a whole bottle in under an hour, and the waiter brought our bill before we were done without us asking. Making us feel like we need to go. It was very uncomfortable and really was not a great experience.
Louise Viviers
Amazing place. It is a must visit. I like the fact that they take no bookings. Service is great. Food is amazing. If you feel like treating yourself last minute, this is the perfect place. They have a good variety of wines. If you have any dietary requirements, they are willing to help. Must visit!

On my last two trips to Cape Town I never made it around to Chefs Warehouse mainly because they don't take reservations and it was always full when I went. This time I was there 3 minutes early before the opening time of 4:30. I was little annoyed to have to go next door to no reservations over something like 3 minutes. Yes the kitchen might not have been ready but I could have sat outside and waited. I think my annoyance is more over the fact that if you not going to be ready at 4:30 don't have an opening time of 4:30. The kitchen closes at 8pm and by 6pm all the seating is taken up so do get there early.

We sat outside which is of course the best place to sit when the weather is good. There are two long tables with bar stools and you are seated across from each other.

The menu consists of eight tapa dishes for R650 to be shared between two people. This is not really a place to visit if you have dietary requirements. Two of the dishes had beef/pork which they made something else for us but wasn't that great.

Tuna tartare with siracha mayonnaise, salmon roe and potato chips. This was a nice dish, the potato chips was something different but the flavours tasted like very other tuna dish I have ever eaten.

Kingklip with Cape Malay dressing & creme fraiche. I didn't like this dish, the flavours were fine but the kingklip was prepared as ceviche and super chewy.

Deep fried squid with soba noodles, miso mayonnaise & Mentsuyu dressing. A yummy dish. My preference isn't this style of deep fried as it doesn't really taste like calamari.

Cauliflower risotto with crispy capers. A very delicious risotto dish with plenty of flavour.

Onion tartlet with onion soubise, wilted spinach, pine nuts and sour onion purée. The flavours in this was amazing. Loved the dish.

Pan fried hake with peas, pea purée and potato fondant. A well executed hake dish with simple flavours.

The other two dishes on the menu which we didn't try was the beef brisket with the polenta & pork fillet with cous cous, dukka, butternut purée and cured red onions.

We instead had mushrooms on polenta which was not great. The vegetables in rice paper served with dipping sauce was a fresh dish.

Overall I would have preferred if the menu was viewable online or if you could choose from a variety of tapas. Quite a few of the dishes had a burnt onion element almost Indian influence to the dishes.

The food was just okay for me with the vegetarian dishes standing out but not on a wow level. After eating the most amazingly flavourful food at The Test Kitchen & La Colombe the flavour profile of this food was just not for me. The dishes were however all beautifully presented and the ingredients were great quality. It was a R1000 meal which I don't think I would care to repeat. The food didn't really leave us satisfied and we went of to another restaurant a few hours later to get a flavour fix of food.
Raphael Bueno
Drinks are pricey but the food, service and the atmosphere are outstanding.

Such an amazing balance of dishes that really finishes the meal on a high note.

Must try the panna cotta! Best panna cotta I ever had
Reshmi Muringathuparambil
Went here last night with a friend at around 5:30pm for dinner - didn't have to wait in line. The service was impeccable, the courses so carefully curated, and absolutely delightful! I love the unpretentious vibe of the space, and the pricelist was fair for the quality of product. Would definitely recommend!

Wow what a treat!! Went to Chefs warehouse with friends, initially I was hesitant as it is a set menu and it was a bit pricey, but so worth it. I loved every dish that came out - flavours were amazing and portions just right. The restaurant has a very relaxed feel.
Staff are knowledgeable about the food and explain all dishes when they arrive.
Definitely a must for all the foodies!
Rebecca Starke
Next level stuff! Food was absolutely divine and such a treat. Only problem- we needed more 😋 there is this quaint 'under ground' bar so get there early for a drink on the road 🥃
Amy Chen
Oh My Word this place is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Tapas style food that comes in three courses. Fantastic pairings and decent portion sizes. Every day the menu is different. There is so much flavour and every dish is just perfect.
We waited an hour for a table and it was so worth it.
It's pricey but I think it is better than the potluck club. I will definitely come back for more!

Chefs Warehouse and Canteen came highly recommended by Delaire Graff restaurant’s head chef, Michael Deg. I, therefore decided it is a must visit on my next trip to Cape Town. Chefs Warehouse and Canteen does not take bookings, so best to get there early. At first, I thought it would be an issue to get a table. However, this was not the case, as I arrived about 45 min before they opened (Yes, I was quite eager). It was however 45 minutes well spent in their store, my credit card might tell a different story.

If you are a foodie, you would have a great appreciation for this store. There are so many interesting things to use, in and around the kitchen. They also have an interesting collection called “books for cooks”. The bookshelves were divided into different categories. Some of the authors included; Heston Blumenthal, Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White as well as the owner of Chefs Warehouse, Liam Tomlin.

Liam Tomlin is an Irish-born chef and no stranger to the culinary world. He has worked with culinary icons like Shaun Hill, Mark Edwards and Richard Corrigan. He has published a number of cookbooks and together with his wife, Jan, they own and run two other restaurants (Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia and Thali) as well as a bar (No Reservations) in the Cape Town.

As I was waiting for the canteen to open, I made a new friend, Bailey, the Chefs Warehouse dog. Bailey can be seen either on the patio or snuggled up in his bed. If you see him give him a pat, he loves it.

The clock struck 12 noon and the moment of truth arrived. It was time for the canteen to open their “spoon handled” doors and let some hungry clients enter. There were already a few people seated by the time I entered, however, I was still able to get a great seat. Yeah!!! (Happy dance). I would recommend being at the canteen about 10min before they open for service. They have seating inside that can accommodate up to 40 people as well as weather dependent seating outside for an additional 24 people. All the tables are communal tables that create an interesting vibe, where it is easy to make new friends during your meal.

The dining experience is casual and based on sharing of great food. If you are two or more, the tapas are served over three courses. If you are dining alone, like I was, do not fear. They would still be able to provide you with four items of your choice from their tapas menu, over two courses. I am sure you would be able to order the entire menu for one person, but finishing it might be a challenge. All of their tapas sounded fantastic, and it was hard to narrow it down to only four. I decided to have whatever four dishes the chef recommended. It was rather exciting as I had no idea what I was having for lunch until the food arrived.

While waiting for the food, I took a look around the restaurant, the décor was unique and well designed. The main black door to the canteen had a creative personal touch with large black wooden spoons as door handles. The red wooden sliding door, separating the canteen from the store creates an interesting focal point and tied in well with their logo and the red exposed features and trimmings. The bar counter and service area is finished with a vintage look mirror that reflected light into the space. The Spanish-themed flooring was gorgeous and very appropriate as the canteen serves “tapas”, a very popular Spanish way of dining.

There are food products available to purchase in the canteen. They vary from Tannie Evita’s Darling product range, to dates, to a variety of spices and other ingredients. These items are great to keep in your pantry and also makes for brilliant gift ideas.

The service at the canteen was excellent. As I was seated near the kitchen, I could hear “service, service” every few minutes. I was amazed at the speed that this team worked at, and how calm they all looked. This was obviously not their first time doing this.

The first two tapas that arrived were the, deeply fried squid and tuna tartare. Both the dishes looked and smelled amazing. I could not wait to start.

The deep fried squid dish looked so fresh with the greenness of the basil leaves as well as the pesto. The squid was crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The baby potatoes were soft, and light and together with the pesto and aioli just melted in your mouth. The chorizo added a little bit of a spiciness to the dish, really complimenting the other elements. I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of chorizo and was not sure about this in the dish when it arrived, but after tasting the combination of flavours, it was required to push the dish from good to amazing. Hands down my favourite dish.

The second dish was, the tuna tartare with a nigiri dressing topped with micro herbs. The flavour combinations worked well, and in between each bite, you get a few sesame seeds adding a nutty flavour and a delicate crunch to the dish. There were a few fresh pomegranate seeds sprinkled on the top that added a surprising burst of a sweet and sour flavour to the dish. I used the cracker to scoop up the tartar, this crunch element was delicious.

The last two tapas that arrived were the pan fried silverfish and brisket with saffron risotto.

The pan fried silverfish with tomato gastrique, semi dried tomatoes and olive tapenade was plated beautifully. Each element was prepared to perfection. The fish was so crispy on the outside, and as I cut through, I could hear a very light crack. It was like music to my ears. The centre of the fish was cook perfectly and was jam-packed with flavour. The tomato gastrique added colour as well as an extra tomato element to the dish. The olive tapenade was a bit salty on its own, but together with all the other elements, it balanced the dish beautifully. The combination of the crunchy fish, soft tomatoes and olives just took this dish to the next level. My taste buds felt like it was on a roller-coaster, and boy did they love that ride.

I loved the plating of the brisket and saffron risotto it was very simple but elegant. The brisket was cooked to perfection, it pulled apart easily, and once you take a bite, the meat just melts away. The risotto was silky and smooth, and the flavour combinations worked very well. The colour of the saffron risotto made the dish stand out.

I was at the end of my tapas experience and pretty full, but if the dessert tasted even half as good as the tapas, I was not going to pass it by. All the items on the dessert menu sounded amazing, and once again I asked the chef to choose.

The chef’s choice was the rose water pannacotta. The pannacotta was smooth and set perfectly, still with a little bit of a wiggle. The meringue was delicious and light and added a hint off sweetness. The crunchiness of the nuts, together with the freshness of the mint leaves, and pomegranate seeds tied the dish together perfectly. This dessert was a great finale to a fantastic meal.

As I finished my dessert, none other than Chef Liam Tomlin walked through the black door. I was lucky enough to meet him and have him sign my “Lessons with Liam” cookbook. While talking to him, I experienced a little bit about this humble chef and what made him tick. Talking to his staff and seeing their respect and gratitude towards him, and experiencing how proud they were to be part of his team made me realise what a great leader he is.

If you love the dishes, you can attempt them at home, with the help of Chef Liam’s “Tapas” cookbook.

It does not matter whether you are a professional or amateur chef, foodie or wine lover, or just having lunch this is a spot not to miss. The great thing about this restaurant is the fact that the menu changes daily and therefore you can dine here often and have a different culinary experience every time. Chefs Warehouse and Canteen has great food, great staff and a great vibe. Chefs Warehouse and Canteen, without a shadow of a doubt, gets the DBM splash of approval.

Best of the week! Amazing selection of Tapas, yellow tail, lamb meatballs and pumpkin risotto were the standouts but everything was genuinely fantastic!

Casual meets exquisite. Not only was the food masterful but our long table of strangers turned out to be awesome company. My only hesitation is that my credit card nearly jumped out of my bag with it's "buy me" voice in their delightful shop.

A restaurant with a difference and what better way than to share the experience with friends celebrating their wedding anniversary!

The place is small and intimate with wooden shelves filled with interesting sugar and spice and all things nice. The dining area has long narrow tables with metal seating stools. The tapas for two are shared over three courses, pleasurable to the eye and a sensation on the palate.

We started off with Yellowtail with Ponzu Escabeche (citrus based sauce). It was delicious and fresh and just a sensation on the tastebuds. The Tuna Tartare with miso sake dressing is so tasty and fresh. Each bite is a wake-up for the senses. I was blown away by the Deep Fried Calamari with coconut broth and pineapple. The broth had so much flavour!

The Butternut Risotto was creamy and cooked to perfection and served with a herbed crumb. Assiette of Cauliflower was just a taste sensation with all the different textures of cauliflower. Each component so tasteful.

The Open Ravioli beef brisket was succulent and divine with bags full of flavour and was served with a carrot puree and carrot veloute. The Venison was cooked well and accompanied with baked onion and sweet potato - a tasty, wholesome dish. We ended off with Silverfish and a delicious tomato gastrique served with ricotta cheese and peas.

A sensational experience with innovative dishes. Definitely exceeded my expectation.

Had the absolute pleasure of sampling a bit of gourmet heaven on our 16th wedding anniversary here.

The concept is a selection of 6 - 8 tapas portions to share between 2. There are 2 seatings a day; lunch and supper seating 40 people at a time. They close at 8pm so be sure to be there early as they do not take bookings. They ensure the quality of the food is not compromised and each dish is prepared and presented with passion & perfection.

We started with fresh oysters served with lime and an asian dressing, topped with fried shallots & crispy nori shreds. Magnificence!
The next dish was calamari, served in a coconut, chilli & coriander broth with thin slices of seared pineapple. Fragrant and melt-in-the-mouth.
Next up was yellowtail ceviche with ponzu escabeche. So light and refreshing!
The tuna tartar with miso sake, seeds & nuts was delicate and delicious.
We were served a good sized portion of grilled silverfish with tomato gastrique, ricotta, fresh peas and pea puree.
The 2 vegetarian dishes were Assiette of califlower ( served 3 ways) and butternut risotto with a herbed crust.
The meat dishes were open ravioli of (long slow baked) beef brisket with carrot puree & carrot veloute. So tender, moist and perfectly seasoned.
Springbok venison fillet - beautifully pink in the middle - was accompanied by baked onion and sweet potato puree and sweet potato wedge.

The meal was a joy from the very first bite to the last!

BigJoe Sharese Hunt Glen Hunt

This is the goto place in Bree Street. Ever changing menu. World class tapas which can compete with the best pintxos in San Sebastián.

We eat here at least once a month, but could probably eat here every night. Liam must be the risotto king of Cape Town.

Absolutely blown away. Finally got to go to this exciting, relaxed, fine dining tapas restaurant and it was WELL worth the wait.

Yes they don't take reservations but it lends to the appeal of this very popular establishment.

Chefs Warehouse and Canteen ticks the box for us in every regard.

Fantastic and imaginative fresh seasonal food ✔
Great selection of wines ✔
Great selection of beers ✔
Value for money at 8 courses as tapas to share ✔✔
Great accommodating service ✔ but with one issue
Wonderful ingredients that you can purchase⭐

I'm only scoring them less half a mark from 5 as our initial waiter was a bit arrogant and not helpful but his manager saved the day 😊

Will definitely be back again and again and again.....

Super-duper impressed with Chefs Warehouse. We were both a little apprehensive, especially after seeing that they only have one tasting menu of 8 tapas dishes served in 3 courses, but we stuck it out and we were both chuffed we did! Every course was expertly prepared, some understated with clean flavours and some boasting bold generous flavours. We were both very full towards the end but opted to share the lemon posset which was amazingly good, light and perfectly balanced. The wine list is decent with some interesting options at good price points. We were really blown away with everything, R1000 for two including tip and 3 glasses of wine, it beats many "gastronomic" degustation menus at 5 star establishments at a fraction of the price.

Have walked past this unique eating place a number of times but never been able to get a table. They don't take bookings, which is a black mark as far as I'm concerned, and there is often a queue waiting for a seat.
At least managed to get 2 seats after about a 15 min wait. ..and it was worth it. We opted for the shared tasting menu every dish of which was quite delicious. They're is no point in describing each dish as they change regularly suffice to say nearly every one was a taste sensation. You will get an idea of the gate from the photos.
It's a pity about the no booking rule but if you can get in you should.

This is the best food I had in Capetown . The restaurant was full when i visited at 6pm today. Managed to get a seat outside. I tried the Tapas for one . The tapas was refreshing, flavorful with some interesting combinations on the plate. The food and wine were perfect to enjoy the lovely Cape Town weather and end the day.

The second best meal I've ever had in Cape Town.

My brother and I ordered the signature 'tapas for two' which was absolutely phenomenal.

The whole experience was just an incredible journey of flavour.

Some of the dishes included an entrecôte, sashimi, a carrot risotto which was the best risotto I've ever had, and olives with the most unique and interesting flavours.

All the food was beautifully plated. Even the coffee I ordered afterwards came with the cutest set of sugar cubes on the side.

The restaurant basically consists of 2 parts: a shop selling cooking utensils and books and the kitchen. The tables are part of the shop which makes for some interesting things to look at while you wait for your food. There's also a really trendy bar downstairs.

I highly recommend Chefs Warehouse, especially if you're looking for an unpretentious, creative and extravagant but casual fine dine experience.

Amazing restaurant to try out if you're in Cape Town. Tapas Menu is very rich and full of interesting flavors and mixes. They also have a vegetarian option if you're not fan of seafood. The wine offered was outstanding and the service was great

Highly highly recommend it

#BonAppetit
Excellent meals with outstanding service! Tapas for two with a different menu everyday. Best place we've eaten in Cape Town. They don't take reservations, so have a drink at the cool bar down below while you wait for a table.
Mbali Msimang
Wow this was such a good idea.

Ok, So they don't do reservations so try to show up early evening. you actually only have one option of an 8 course meal between two for R560 (excluding tapas and desserts which we didn't have). The menu changes daily depending on what arrives that morning and oh my word everything tasted so well prepped. I don't want to go into the individual dishes but overall the flavours were amazing

We had gone for a birthday lunch and the wait staff were extremely attentive and accommodating to our requests.

Will definitely be back soon. I've been thinking about the seafood set of dishes since we left.
I would really recommend this dinning experience at least once
- try to get the outside table during the day

Innovative ever changing menu. Fresh, delicious flavours in some really great dishes. A must try for sure. The lemon risotto was absolutely incredible, I could have had 3 of those! The tuna started topped with nori was also delicious, the flavors in the sauce were incredible! I also loved the calamari.

Okay, so Chefs Warehouse is next level! I was with a group of work colleagues and we indulged in every imaginable dish from steak tartar to seared tuna. What a delight of flavours and paired wines from the knowledgeable staff too. What a fantastic taste sensation which is why i give them full marks! I am just so sad that i didn't take any photos.

Chefs warehouse is a great experience for people willing to enjoy something a little different
The menu changes every week and it is a set 5 course menu to share between 2

I went with a group of friends and everyone was excited as each delicious course came out

One thing that stood out was the wonderful vegetarian courses they whipped up for my vegetarian friend
We usually find when we eat out she is really limited so the fact they not only catered for her, despite the set menu, but ensured every course served was just as delicious as the meat dishes, shows how talented the chefs truly are

We will defo be back!

The Holy Grail of tapas in Cape Town! The food is always exceptional and service is quick, friendly and efficient. It might seem pricey for casual dining but so worth every cent, the standard of food is right up there with SA's best restaurants (La Colombe etc) but a fraction of the price. You can't book so go for lunch or get there early around 6 for an early bite, then take a stroll to visit the nearby bars.

What a culinary experience! We went on a Monday afternoon and it exceeded our high expectations. We opted for the tapas sharing plate and everything was incredible! There were loads of combinations on the menu that I would never have tried in a normal restaurant but I am so happy I have it a chance. Foodie haven!

Discovering a Jewel in Cape Town...Something truly different...
At first glance - the instructions on the website - "we don't take reservations" - seemed a little terse. So as visitors to Cape Town - we decided to play it safe - called the restaurant and inquired as to by when we may reach there. We were on time nd warmly greeted by this huge cute dog - she was napping right at the doorstep and gently gave us a glance. Then began our culinary journey.....

Unpretentious, functional but yet trendy - Chef's Warehouse and Canteen truly stands out in every aspect. They have a pre-fix tapas menu for two that basically has four courses comprising various dishes - that come one after the other. We tasted some olives before we began together with a beautiful Musgrave Rose Gin from South Africa - that had rose petals floating in the drink - giving it a beautiful aroma.

and then dived straight into our degustation experience. The first course consisted of Octopus and mussels carpaccio, slivers of yellow tail tuna and calamari that was gently fried. Next came a heavenly carrot risotto, and sautéed mushrooms. This was followed by the final course of Pork belly - gently cooked and smeared with a sauce, a duck pate with rabbit terrine and a potato gnocchi. We topped off our meal with a fresh lemon dessert and acreme brulee.

The food taste, presentation and quality was outstanding. The pictures will speak for themselves. Service was also friendly and warm.

We met Liam - who owns the place. Congratulations and look forward to many more of your creations in the future!

What made it so special was the way the whole concept was created!

My best ever restaurant in Cape Town. Excellent food but no snobbery. Vibey & always a bit different No bookings, so get there early! Well worth it!

In a Single Line:: -> The atmosphere is eclectic, cosmopolitan and friendly. The food is fabulous and the staff are mature and knowledgeable, experienced and friendly.

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever Tried at Capetown. It serves various platters ( on wooden boards) of a selection of small helpings e.g. a meat platter, a fish and seafood platter etc. One is given small tastes of a huge variety of food, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Cooking is an art in this restaurant. Lovely wines complement the meal. The restaurant has a great vibe and one can share a table with others, which makes it a fun evening. One can sit inside or outside.

If you are a foodie come here. Skilfully prepared dishes made by chefs who obviously care. Delicious and good value. This restaurant seems to be popular with locals, always a good sign, and is not at all touristy. They do not take reservations so arrive early to guarantee a table otherwise you may have to wait. There is a bar downstairs so queuing could also be a pleasurable experience, but the wait will be worthwhile. If you like food you will love it here.

The restaurant serves a pre-set Tapas dinner for two. On the night we ate here there were 8 courses served, brought out in 3 waves. I must admit, when I see lots of different ingredients I am not always sure I will like it. They proved my assumptions wrong here! We went on 1st Thursday, not realizing how busy that area would be but we were lucky to get the last available table before the waiting list started. The servers were great explaining each dish as it was brought out, and helped my select a great wine to have with dinner. Dishes ranged from calamari to antelope and other meats. It is a very trendy looking restaurant, attached to a kitchen supply store which was really neat. The store has a great selection of cookbooks and nice cooking essentials and tools if you are in the market! I had my reservations when we sat down to eat, but it was love at first bite. I discovered that having lots of ingredients and taste combinations I would normally not try was fun. I was bummed at first that the selections were pre-set, but now I am so glad that they were, not one bad dish was served. I suggest getting there early if you don't wish to wait. This was my first trip to Cape Town, and I was surprised at all the restaurants we went to how busy they were early in the evening. I am used to restaurants being mostly empty in the 6-6:30 dining range, but every place we went was full at that time. But you get there and they do have a waiting list, get a cocktail and wait, you will be glad you did.

Heard so much about this place and all a true story. Quite an experience of flavours in the 8 dishes served. Great food. Great service. Tiny room and that includes the waiting area bar ! On the pricey side, but quality never does come cheap.Robyn

Absolutely loved this spot. The tapas for 2 is great value for money. We were so full after the 8 courses we couldn't fit in dessert!

Looking the menu on arrival there was only 2 dishes I would have chosen to order but they were all excellent. We loved each course and the order of these flowed so well.

The chairs are not very comfortable so you can't sit around all evening. You also share tables which takes away from the romance if you are on a date but it didn't bother us.

The service was fantastic
Aparajita
Great tapas place with quick service and the staff is willing to accommodate dietary preferences within the structure of their set menu. All the tapas were uniformly good, the onion risotto was spectacular. The only tapas below par was the entrecote - it was slightly undercooked.
Carla Whitehead
One of my best meals this year. The menu is a 8 dish set menu to share tapas style. 3 fish, 3 meat and 2 veg. My partner and I don't eat meat and the staff were very accommodating and changed the menu to suit our needs. Usually these places give you tiny portions and you leave hungry but all dishes were substantial. My mouth felt like it went on a taste explosion around the world - the light, clean flavours of Asia in the fish courses: salmon sashimi, seared tuna and cob tartar, lightly dusted melt in your mouth squid with orange and fennel. Next was the lemon & mascarpone risotto and Indian spiced potato roti. I will admit I'm not a potato fan and was not looking forward to the roti but it ended up being one of my stand outs of the night! Everything had so much flavour and just the right amount of seasoning. Usually I have to add more salt and pepper but didn't even miss the absence of seasoning on our table. Really worth a visit oh and have the lemon posset for dessert, as full as you are you wont regret it

Amazing innovative food! Great service, great vibe (looking out onto the crowds of First Thursday). We arrived 16:30 to secure great spot outside - had some wine, vietnamese oysters to start and then tapas for 2 (fav dishes being the tuna tartare, pork belly, butternut risotto). Definitely coming back!
Franklin Williams
My best restaurant visit of 2015. An amazing tasting menu for two at a reasonable price. Highly recommend it to anyone. Service could be a bit friendlier but the food is faultless
Jadene Tager
We rocked up early before lunch service began to make sure we got a table. The tapas for two was absolutely amazing. The presentation, flavours and the variety of dishes make this place a real gem for any foodie. I believe their menu changes all the time. The service was also very good!
Christine Du Toit
We walk into Chef Warehouse two hours before closing and after 30 min was seated. It was worth the wait. The presentation of the Tapas dishes was excellent. Every dish was bursting with interesting flavours. We also paired it with the red wine recommended with the food and it was an excellent choice.
Dylan Rothschild
Had a great meal at Chef's Warehouse but the service was really disappointing. The lady that served us seemed to have a terrible attitude and we felt that she was constantly "doing us a favour". The food was great but she did absolutely nothing to make us feel warm and welcome. Its a great pity because the food is fantastic.
Claire Sharwood
Blown away by the food. Always wanted to visit this spot, and it met all of my expectations. As a foodie, I would definitely recommend this as one of the top restaurants in Cape Town.

Chefs Warehouse was Quite the Experience, my Friend and I Arrived a little late as they don't take reservations we thought we might have a chance of finding a spot. We were seated as soon as we arrived and we opted for the Tapas for two sharing menu. Not long after ordering the first Three tapas came and although I'm not a Sea food Fan, the Tempura Avo that was in the Calamari and Chorizo dish was to die for. I can say that their Pea Risotto was the best Risotto I've ever had, the venison was lovely and tender. Chefs Warehouse was worth the Bill, no wonder they are in the Top 20!! Excellent

Had dinner here a good few weeks ago, and was more than excited when I heard that we were going to be popping in. I had heard such great things about Chef's Warehouse, and spent most of my day drooling while thinking about what I would be eating that evening. To my dismay, I was sorely disappointed.

By the time we were finally seated, the restaurant had run out of their loin of venison, which was replaced by duck liver parfait, a detail handwritten onto our menu. Although I understand that they had perhaps underestimated what dinner demand may be, what had me so bitter, was that neither of the waitresses that served us felt it necessary to advise that the kitchen had also run out of the Coq au Vin. You can only imagine my disappointment when I was instead served a less than average penne carbonara!

When anyone at the table had made any enquiries as to what exactly we were being served, the waitresses were very short, and showed no interest in what they were serving, and answered all questions in as short a sentence as possible. Both of them had a lot of attitude, and even without tasting the food, I already had a bitter taste in my mouth. I understand, as someone who has waitressed, that it's hard to be at the top of your game when you have a lot of tables to serve and everyone has their own demands, but a "I hope you're enjoying your meal" or even just giving your table the time of day, can go a long way towards creating customer service appreciation.

Considering what this restaurant charges, I expect them to be better prepared, and to have staff who are more attentive towards not only the diners, but also to what is happening in the kitchen. A little communication can go a long way.

Liam Tomlin has so much talent and expertise, But I feel like we didn't get a taste of either. Can't say I'm in a hurry to return.
Grant Shippey
This is one of Cape Town's best experiences. The friendly unfussy service coupled with Liam's magical approach to tapas put this eatery firmly at the top of my list. A riot of flavour and some of the countries finest produce makes this a must must must
Saskia
The two person, 8 course tapas menu is fabulous! I came here for my birthday and it was the biggest treat dining here. Come if you want to experience a taste bud adventure!
The Foodie Corner
A culinary adventure of note! For what this unimpressive looking restaurant lacks in shear size it definitely makes up for in the amazing, out of this world food it serves!

You can't visit without doing the tapas for 2. It changes everyday, so you can keep coming back for more! There's also a few snack-sized items on their menu and, of course, desserts!

On this particular night, the tapas included grilled calamari with spicy salami, salmon sashimi with sushi rice, a flavorsome tuna salad, duck, beef fillet, tempura vegetables with a creamy chili dipping sauce, risotto and finally oxtail ravioli. To be perfectly honest, there's no way I can pick a favorite dish because each dish had its own unique combination of flavors that just exploded in your mouth with every bite! At one stage, out waiter came to ask if there was something wrong with our food because we were taking very long to eat it. But we simply wanted to savor the taste for as long as possible!

Even though we were already stuffed, there's always room for a little dessert. The chocolate fondant was a warm molten chocolate delight. Makes a very good combination with the orange ice cream it is served with. If you prefer a little less sweet, the lemon posset is just as nice, served with a delicious berry sauce on the side.

Furthermore, their service is quick and the staff are super friendly. They also explain each dish quite well and are happy to offer their advice. Unfortunately, they don't take bookings and fill up quite quickly, so if you're going for dinner, come early! You won't be disappointed!
Theodora Lee
A first class dining experience with a delightfully layed back atmosphere. A great first date venue and where I'd most likely take business meetings if I wanted to impress. Don't forget to browse the fabulous imported goods and cookbooks on sale.
Kirsty Donald
This was my second visit to Chefs Warehouse and it still fails to disappoint! The food is top notch and the service is fantastic. On both occasions we had the tapas for two which is 7 or 8 tapas to be shared. The menu changes often so we didn't have the same thing even though our visit was only a month apart. Each dish has loads of flavour which is paired really well with the protein. You can't make bookings here, even if you have a big table so I recommend getting there early in order to secure a spot.
Gspaterson1
Snuck in just before their 8pm closing time and was expecting to get rushed through dinner, but the waitress was great, no hint of trying to hurry us up. The food was superb, some of the tastiest fished I have had in a while. The short rib ravioli was amazing, as was the duck dish. Will definitely be back.

The communal type tables are great and we ended up having a great dinner conversation with the two couples next to us.

One my absolute favourite eateries! Food and service is always on point! Highly recommended. The vibe is good with a great buzz coming from the kitchen.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Cape Town. I have been to Chef's Warehouse for lunch four times and every single time it's been wonderful. I always get the 8 tapas for two, and generally attempt to fit in a dessert regardless of how full I am. They are just always so good! Favorite dishes have included salmon togarashi, various tuna dishes, and an incredible chocolate selection. Great place to go for lunch if you have the time, even better places to bring visitors.

The pros: Amazing food, great service, lovely atmosphere, no reservations needed.

The cons: There really aren't any! The only one I can really think of is that the door, when it opens for people coming inside, brings in a huge gust of cold air in the winter that is never fun. Last time I was there though about 5 days ago, they had people coming in the entrance from the warehouse store in order to rectify that. Really no cons to this place! Go go go!

O

M

*explodes*

I spent the afternoon lying down very uncomfortably after a ridiculously amazing lunch at this "canteen".

Obviously, we had the "Tapas for 2" - because why would you miss anything on the menu when you could order all of it? The dishes all arrive on a side of log. And the conversation mostly revolved around which plate was vying for top spot.

The consensus was a tie between the tuna tartare (which included a somewhat dramatic twist of mint), the grilled salmon in a miso broth with bok choi (I went peasant and licked out the bowl), and the entrecote with the smoked potato purée and the smoked aubergine gel and the bone marrow (this was the actual winner - but people got touchy when I tried to insist).

We put the mussel and ham risotto in second place, alongside the vegetable curry (hot damn). Then the venison and root vegetable. Then the chorizo squid. Sadly, the poussain just looked a bit dull next to the rest. Imagine - dull poussain - have you ever?

Dessert was an apple and pear clafoutis, baked freshly while we waited, with caramelised ginger ice cream and brandy creme anglaise.

My meal of the year. Calling it.
Belinda Haydn
Last nights dinner was an explosion of flavour in My mouth. We did the 8 course tapas menu for 2 and every mouthful was amazing! We paired it with Warwick Sauvignon blanc. A light and tasty wine that was a perfect accompaniment. We will be back.

I have never been disappointed by the standard of food at Chefs Warehouse. Always beautifully presented and tasty. It's a great for an intimate date night or catch up with a friend. Plus - who doesn't love sharing food?
Toomuchloveliness
I am a huge fan of Chef's Warehouse and have been eating there from the early days. The shared platter for two is eight amazing dishes which change every day. There's always an amazing risotto and lots of interesting cuts of meats and types of ingredients.

However the price has gone up significantly lately. What was great food and good value has become great food which is quite pricey!
Chane Cardoso
What a lovely time with the girls, we could not have chosen a better place than Chefs Warehouse!

Liam Thomlin and his chefs know just how to combine flavours and bring the best out of each ingredient.

The service was also well worth mentioning, a warm and friendly welcoming and a detailed explanation given of each dish served.

I will definitely recommend Chefs Warehouse to any and everyone that wants to tickle their taste buds!

What an amazing lunch! Great service, phenomenal food and incredible company! The food is beautifully presented and it does not dissapoint! Interesting, with great textures and great flavour combinations! Spectacular!

Finally tried this place! Started with the Vietnamese Oysters which was probably my favorite- fresh with loads of interesting textures. We followed this with the 8 course tasting. Everything was really spectacular, insanely rich but really yum. Was way to full for desert but the sounded and looked delicious. Definite Italian/ Asian fusion vibe running through all their tapas. Succinct but interesting wine list & casual yet great service. Really good value for money for the standard of food!

We read about this charming restaurant in the Cape Times, when Ellen Degeneris tried to reserve a table. No reservations possible -even for the famous!

Well I found it. And let me tell you. You will not be disappointed!

The service is impeccable, the owner charming and friendly. The chef came to greet us personally.

The food was simply to die for! Gourmet at its best. Love love love

Every bite felt like angels dancing on my tongue.

I love this place would recommend anyone in the quest for good food and great ambiance.

Zoe

The best place to enjoy a nice gourmet meal .Their food is simply the best served from their Tapas menu .The staff is very friendly and provide good service.
Claire Allen
Happiness is enjoying great food with friends and wine of course. I was lucky enough to enjoy my first Chefs Warehouse experience with some of my Top 12 Masterchef Crew, it was great seeing them all and it was great tasting and discussing the tapas menu.

The food is incredible , Ian spent time in the kitchen so we had our own chef review at the table. Understanding Liam's passion for food and flavours only made the meal even more enjoyable.

Its a must see and taste restaurant in CPT and I cant believe I waited this long to go.

Cant wait to return
Foodood
Worst service I've experienced in a long time. Staff seem unable to deal with busy lunch hour and seem to take offense to questions regarding the menu items.
Simon Trisk
Liam cooked my family and I the most wonderful meal! The tastes were superb and the combination of flavours was outstanding. Definitely a restaurant worth going to! The chocolate bon bons and the fondant finished off the meal perfectly!

We visited Liam Tomlin's restaurant, shop and occasional school for a midweek lunch. The dining area consists of a few long tables with stools. Walls are adorned with products and produce - vacuum sealed herbs and spices of varying origin. We started with Vietnamese oysters and shared Tapas for three, including a request for a selection of vegetarian plates, which were not plentiful on the day's menu. The dishes were packed full of a variety of flavours and textures, without being overwhelming or disorganised. The whole party were thoroughly impressed, though the vegetarian options were limited to 3 dishes: polenta and Japanese mushrooms, butternut risotto and a Moroccan cous cous salad.
Michael Lourandos
My new favorite restaurant. Been there a few times. It just gets better and better.

Had the most amazing , interesting meal there last night . Incredible flavor combinations . The chef is a genius !
We shared a selection of tapas, the risotto was incredible .
Lisa Botha Gibbon
This is a stunning place to go for drinks and tapas. Friendly, fast and knowledgeable service at a great price. We had the tapas special for 2 - risotto, calamari, salmon, tuna, beef, lamb - all very interesting and tasty little dishes to share. This is going to become a favorite, I know!
Nix VdL
Great tapas! - of the best in Cape Town. Tapas on offer change very regularly. I went there twice in one week and there was only one (outstanding) dish that was the same. Their risotto is always fabulous and perfectly cooked. The shop attached to the restaurant has an impressive recipe book collection. Well worth a try!
Carrie Le Roux
Fantastic spot for after work drinks that turn into a casual tapas supper. The intimate restaurant fills up quickly creating a good vibe. Excellent wine selection. We had a lovely cheese board but the tapas looked fantastic. The walls are lined with fantastic foody products that are hard to find and the adjoining shop has an amazing selection of non-mainstream cookbooks and kitchen ware. Will definitely go back!
Hilary Dennis
One of my favourite tapas places - sophisticated, interesting, delicious! Friendly staff - energetic and enthusiastic creative chefs and knowledgeable serving staff
