Review Paranga - Camps Bay

D P
The food was good. Sushi was well prepared and tasty. The sourdough bread was excellent and warm and came with butter👍. Evelyne was lovely, service in general was good. The location is a mix bag. While you have a view of the beach the road in front can be busy and noisy. It was not particularly busy when we had lunch which was nice but obviously reduced the atmosphere. Good choice of music at a good level.
Kevin Jordan
We had lunch here, oysters, grilled calamari w/green chili sauce & a Greek salad to share - absolutely delicious!!! Add in a beautiful view of Camps Bay beach and you are in paradise.

Lovely restaurant next to beach and ocean with friendly service and good food. The crayfish and baby octopus and vegetables were particularly good. Great cocktails and view of the sunset.

Lovely place for special event with nice ambient atmosphere, music in background. We enjoyed seafood special for two and local oysters. Special thank you for the service! We get there by Uber from our hotel.

I had the most enchanting dining experience at this top-notch establishment. The exceptional sunset view and the breathtaking beachfront scenery cast a romantic spell on the evening. Sipping on my drinks amidst this mesmerizing backdrop, with the ambient atmosphere and soulful music in the background, made it an unforgettable night. The friendly staff added to the warmth, and I'm already dreaming of when I can return to relive this magical evening. And let's not forget the delightful taste of the fresh oysters and baby octopus – they were a culinary delight that perfectly complemented the romantic ambiance. This place truly captures the essence of romance.

Amazing sunset view, delicious foods. Highly recommend 😋

I visited Paranga with a friend for lunch. We ordered a “simple” steak with a side of fries and was really, really impressed with the standard of the food. The meal was cooked to perfection and super tasty. I’ll definitely be back wanting to try their other meals! The margaritas was deliciously prepared! We also ordered desserts - amazing! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. It was the perfect setting for a weekday lunch with a friend. And of course the views over the ocean is priceless! I’ll be back for more ❤️
Ann Khosa
Pretty good restaurant. I only had a drink there wasn’t so hungry. The atmosphere is great. Didn’t like how waitrons were taking long to come check on us and some were not so friendly.

Visiting not once but three times on our stay on the Atlantic seaboard. The food is great, lots of choice and the location is amazing overlooking Camps Bay beach. Well worth a visit, the mussels are a stand out!!!
Nazley Abboy
Restaurant with great views, atmosphere vibe and excellent food and service
Nompakamiso Hude
Always a vibe here if you want a place with a beautiful beach view and a good food.
Jeff Tan
We had a great experience here. Arrived without a booking, the staff went out of the way to set us up at great table in view of the sunset. The seafood platter we ordered tasted delicious, and even though pricing is a bit high, it was definately worth it. Will definately be back on my next trip!

Don't try to eat the white things that look like marshmallows. They are wet wash cloths,😜

Excellent beverages and food, lovely views. A little pricey, but that's to be expected in Camps Bay. The cocktails are delicious and the wine-by-the-glass options are quite good. The seared tuna sashimi on a fried tortilla with avocado and jalapeĂąo was one of the best things I've eaten in some time. It's a lovely, comfortable spot to relax in Camps Bay, and we really enjoyed our visit.

Was hosted here for a dinner during a media event. Had a three course meal and the starter tempura prawn was excellent. Nice burst of chilli, the mains were cooked perfectly and dessert was slightly too sweet for me. Nevertheless wonderful meal. Try the tempura prawns!
Euler Rocha
Nice place! Great atmosphere. Good staff. Just the limoncello is too little! Doesn't matter if you complain. It'll continue being too little.😕
Luhle Shange
Beautiful location and ambience for a dinner date. The food was immaculate, service even better. Had a great time couldn't fault it
Ryan Rooza
My wife and I went to celebrate her birthday and had the most wonderful experience. We had Sushi to start, which was amazing, the Sirloin, Grilled Chicken for mains as well as Rocky Road for dessert. From the welcome at the door to the moment we paid, the overall experience and atmosphere is unbelievable and definitely worth every penny!

R1500 for a seafood platter and then the waiter simply just forgot the extra side dish we ordered. Massively overpriced and poor service

Paranga used to be our favourite restaurant to eat at and always use to recommend it to our friends.. I called to book a table for Friday night as I knew it would be busy.. When we arrived there was no table for us and were eventually placed at a table right by the door.. after standing waiting for the host to finish her conversation before seating us, our table was full of sand due to the wind which was fine, but our waiter didn't even offer to clean a bit of the table for us . We then ordered our meal, which the waiter mixed up..then the food was also so average, the butter truffle fillet hardly had any taste and was basically just a plain cooked fillet. The waiter also hardly came to the table to ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks Over all the service and food was such a disappointment.. I will not be coming back in a hurry if at all.

Beautiful place, best food and the service was out of this world. But the food is extremely expensive. Don’t go there if you are under budget
Jessica Emily
Good food with a great view during sunset! Our waitress Nancy was a wonderful host. Highly recommend

Awesome views. Book a table to the front. The food is good too! Try their PinĂŁcolada. I think it's the best one I have ever had (and I had them from all over the world!). Their salads and seafood will blow your tastebuds. Friendly staff.
Wendy Sweetenham
We spent 5 hours having an opulent feeding and drinking extravaganza , lovely place, food was fresh service was great! Just loved our waitress comes highly recommended!
Roxy Joubert
My food and service was excellent, deff the best fish cakes in town. Rather disappointed to see the table that was seated behind us complain about their food and made a huge scene in the restaurant, they said the food was terrible but yet ate it all and then complained. Todate I have only had good experiences at this restaurant ❤️
Franco Smith
Excellent food and service, would recommend anyone.
Yvonne Keyser
Perfect location, chicken snitchel delicious and staff friendly. Very pricey though.
Harry Mans
Trendy restaurant. Best tuna steak ever. Friendly staff. Will go back before going home.
Conrad Gallagher
Only the coolest restaurant in the world.
Sa Brina
Great food, great service and awesome view! Prices more than ok!

Paranga is of my favorite places to eat in Cape Town! The sunset views are gorgeous and the food and drink is perfection!
Gail Brecht
Perfect for a romantic date. Family dinners and the view over Camps Bay is beautiful ďż˝

Would not recommend Paranga. Food is not great and its not clean. We were sitting across the bar at a table next to the wooden wall. I wiped my hand across the top and it most certainly hasnt been cleaned in ages. The menus were oily and dirty wish i could post the pics i took!!!!

Been waiting to have a meal at this restaurant for auch a long time. We got here sat down and for starters we decided to get a greek salad.
Sadly we discovered the tamato's are black and rotten on the inside after already eating some of the salad. I showed tge manager he ripped the plate of the table and ran to the kitchen before i could even get a word in. He didn't come back to explain. He ignored us. We finished the wine and asked for the bill. The took off the salad which was fair. But didn't come back to check in with us or apologize or recommend anything. Ive been reviewing places forever. So i wanted to review the tuna and fillet steak. But thats not happening. Not the way to go about things.
Aalia
I am so pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, not because I didn’t have any expectations or because I didn’t have such a good lunch (not mentioning where), but the quality of the prawns I ordered was so fresh, the sauces that accompanied it, the veggies, rice... all prepared perfectly! very good service and ambiance. Recommend the medium prawns with rice, definitely coming back for it!
Ilyaas A. Mayet
Terrible service. Waited 30 minutes to get our drinks order.

We all ordered steak medium rare, which was tough, unflavored and stringy. Also extremely overpriced.
Lyn
Lovely spot along the beach road. Popped in here after lunch for a cocktail. Interior of this place very elegant yet comfortable at the same time.

The motjito is one of the best I've ever had, pricey but worth it🙂
Farzana Dalvie
This restaurant I cannot fault in anyway. The dishes from starters to mains were divine. The chocolate fondant which I had was light and fluffy and I absolutely loved it. A bit pricey which comes with the location of course but worth a try!
Linda Mkhize
The food was good but the larger experience left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Paying the bill became an unnecessary hassle. The waiters changed shifts but didn’t transfer the bill or record that we had actually paid. This meant that we were harassed about not paying and eventually had to pay TWICE because of their incompetence. This establishment definitely should be reviewed - something doesn’t make sense. You cannot treat your customers in this manner.
Micarla Havenga
Over the last 7yrs it has always been a pleasure of mine returning to this delightful spot. From the service to the views and the always amazing food and cocktails, great place to take your overseas guests for that real "Cape Town" holiday feel.
Sita
I usually go to Paranga for sundowners and I’m never disappointed. The superb view and decor of the restaurant is top notch.

My first full dining experience this past weekend here was up to standard as well. Although there aren’t many veggie dishes, the veg maki I had was impressive. It’d be great to have more variety though.
Mongezi Nombewu
The ambiance, view, food and service is everything you can ask for. I go to this restaurant every time I am in CPT. I would recommend to anyone willing to pay the premium
Nuno Alves

Went here once and the cocktails were super amazing, the calamari was good and the setting was lovely. Beautiful interior/decor and outstanding service
Julian Coetzee
Had a great time, the setting Paranga has is truely special. The food was good, not fantastic considering the price. We loved the vibe and the waiters were friendly but not always helpful. Nevertheless will definitely try it again. Book in advance to secure a view
Matlhodi Mashamba
Paranga is always our first stop whenever we come to Cape Town. Everything about the restaurant is awesome...food, drinks, service, layout etc
Rachael Laura Wahl
Obviously a great view, great background music, perfectly cooked fillet steak with delicious butter cooked vegetables. I had a really good meal.
Amanda Lukac
Nothing comes close to the view that you get to enjoy while enjoying your meal. The toughest choice we had was deciding what to choose. The food was tasty and staff attentive.
Rachel Lowick
Paranga looks over Camps Bay. I had the pulled chicken salad which was delicious. I loved the honey mustard sauce. The restaurant had everything you need from blankets to expensive wine.
Malebo Malepe
Perfect place, setting the service was awesome, the food tastes great and of a high standard would recommend this place has a lovely ambiance 😍
Kelly Rodger
While visiting on a work trip, myself and my colleagues paraded along camps bay beach deciding where to eat. Paranga looked young and vibey.

It was such a great evening that we went back the following evening!

Great food and wine! With an even better view!
Nicole
With a sunset view like this from your table while having Tempera Prawns or Grilled Calamari starter and a Strawberry French Mojito Cocktail, Life would perfect!! Loved the vibe, the food, the staff, the cocktails, the view, everything was perfect. Definitely a must try.. Just to relax or catch up with friends Paranga wouldn't disappoint.. I would go back anytime!! One more chip on The Kove Collections Shoulder👌🏼👌🏼

This is one of many restaurants in Camps Bay by the beach. It has a lovely view and the interior design of the restaurant is beautiful.
I would have given this place a 4,5 but they don't have many options on their menu and it is sort of restricting.
I will however commend them on their quality of food, its so healthy, filling and delicious.
Service gets a 3/5, the waiter wasn't very attentive.
I really enjoyed my lunch.
Stacy Hart
Luxury sea food at its finest! Fine dining experience all the way. I was so lost in the world of grandeur that I only managed to get a snap of the dessert (silly me). I had a combination of their cray fish, prawns and oysters. Even in Cape Town I find it so hard to get fresh oysters , but let me tell you, these were divine. The cray fish was so freshly sweet , and the prawns were a taste sensation. Yes, there prices are very steep, but definitely worth every Rand! Their portions are very large too. I would save my pay check every month if it meant I could feast here .
Sakhile Gcabashe
Paranga is definitely a place I'd recommend for the decor, ambiance and the views. Accompany that with their cocktails and you have yourself a fantastic start to the night.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend staying for the food however. Not that it's bad or anything, they have good food, just that the menu is limited, and for the prices they're charging, you'll be better catered for at other restaurants in the area.
Jabz S
I had a beautiful cocktail called the perfect morning; with rum, tequila, Malibu and a variety of juice. The service was absolutely amazing by the lady behind the bar.
Ash Robyn
WATERMELON COSMO GET IN MY LIFE! Probably one of the most memorable cocktails I've had in camps bay. Had lunch here while on holiday & I'd definitely go back just for that cocktail. Food was great too...but that cocktail tho!
Mbali Ngcana
Beautiful restaurant with an amazing view.
I had salt and pepper steak and it was divine!!!!
A bit too pricey for me but I think its all worth it.
MĂĄrcia Rocha
Over priced. The see food over cooked. The only good thing is the area. The host is friendly as the waiters. The lamb chops were medium quality. I will not return.
Gabriel Stein
Really good sushi, unfortunately it took them over an hour to deliver on my table of 4. That's ridiculous, this is meant to be a upmarket restaurant.

The restaurant was rather busy but this was no excuse as we should at least have been warned of slow kitchen times.

I can't give this place a terrible rating however as the sushi really was great, and our waitress was very friendly.
Saiyuri
Pretty restaurant with awesome views of the ocean and there is really cool "street art" on the walls. Had the tempura prawns and grilled calamari as starters. My lamb chops and chips that I had as a main was one of the best I have had! They make a mean chocolate fondant too.
Denis Warren-Tangney
Wonderful service cannot make up for deeply average food at exorbitant prices. If it hadn't been for the service this would have been 2 stars.
Chantelle Lamusse
Camps Bay Sunday's are jamming here... We had the Platter for 1, Sole and the Paranga Salad. Deliciously succulent and very well flavored, not overbearing. The service is fantastic and more than on the ball. The prices I think are a bit on the hefty side of what you are getting but the view and food is very good.
Adam
Terrible. From lack luster uncaring service, to the extremely overpriced terrible food. Payed R260 for a piece of kinklip that i would of honestly got better at a fishaways. Had to ask for salt, pepper and cutlery. Will never see me again and will never recommend to anyone else. What a waist of R500. Wouldn't survive anywhere but the camps bay beach front. I guess it really is about location location location

I had some visitors over from LA and wanted to woo them with a nice sunset in Campsbay. I’m not really a Campsbay type of girl but foreigners usually love the scene. Bungalow was fully booked so the nice lady on the phone suggested Paranga.
We sure got that beautiful summer sunset + the décor & feel of the place is amazing. The waitress was professional, she wasn’t super warm but she probably deals with a lot of annoying moaning rich kids – I don’t blame her.

I think the atmosphere is probably the best thing about Paranga. The food was nothing to write home about, it wasn’t yuck, but just not that memorable. I had the sushi as a starter; the rice was a bit hard, not light and fluffy. My main, Kingklip, was good – I enjoyed the capers in the sauce. The others had; fishcakes, chicken, steak and sole. I think it’s safest to go with fish here. I didn’t taste the shellfish options but those platters looked nice. The wine menu was great.

I won’t rush back here, I would stop by for sundowners and a snack but eat some place with probably less of a view but tastier food.
Andrew Raeburn
Another Tourist Scam, over hyped venue! If it did not have the location and view this "luxury dining" farce would of died long ago!
Drinks and cocktails to watch the sunset if you enjoy congestion and traffic noise. The stale lounge music matched the blobs of salmon roses, rainbow rolls and tuna tartare on speckled avocado . It was the worst sushi presentation I have ever seen in Cape Town. I urged my guests to try the flagship South African Kingklip fillet. It turned out to be a thin wet piece of fish mush under a puddle of sauce that resembled vomit !
Service was so slow and feebly compensated by offering more wine for the table.
We were even offered another tables sushi salad "mistake" order while we were waiting.
The bill might also make you sick

Forming part of the Kove collection, the sophistication and quality is unquestionable. Located in one of the most Godliest strips, you automatically relaxed and humbled. If you served by such an amazing aspiring sommelier like Kumbi, you feel like you have died and gone to heaven, and they introduce you to Palladius wine from Swartland by Sadie family. We accompanied our sushi which was to die for, with Rudera Robisto a Chenin blanc, light and appreciated in the heat. An amazing experience, with amazing service and great quality products and cuisine.

VERY VERY RUDE WAITERS!!!! I went there.. The waiter said to me that they are full and they will have availability in 20 minutes and come back in 20 minutes. When I came back, they said they can not accept usbecause they are full.. I said you asked me to come back in 20 min.. they said nothing.. NOT RECOMMENDED TO GO!!

The setting will always be a winner. Went on a Monday night which I must admit was quite nice as it was very laid back and not crowded. The ostrich steak is lovely and tender. My partner always raves about their sushi, which is yet to disappoint him!
Barbara Ann Hall
Typical upmarket spot on the Camps Bay strip.
Great food, great service, great menu, great view! You won't made a bad choice by opting to have a meal here! ..... And maybe a few cocktails too😉😜
Shubha Bhat
Beautiful view and delicious 5 start deserts( hence 2 stars). However, my main meal and side dish were given to me 30 mins apart. When asked why, the waitress said she intentionally told the chef to make my main dish last for my benefit ( did not get the benefit part). Food is average, not decorated and highly priced. There are better places in Cape town.
Vuyo Renene
Really lovely restaurant, the view of the ocean and the open plan they have really is perfect for a Saturday sundowners. I came here with my friends for a Saturday cool down. We had some champagne and enjoyed the breezy weather. Unfortunately didn't eat anything but I'll definitely be coming back try the seafood.
Danieledegama
The restaurant was friendly and the food was fantastic. I had Goats cheese as a starter and Pepper Fillet, both were perfect. Well situated and a beautiful view.

We decided to play monopoly when in Capetown and eat at every stop or at the very least come back for dinner Saturday night was the lucky camps Bay and we choose Paranga, cocktails was amazing and really expensive so we looked at the menu and decided to share a main course skip the starter and no desert that was the best decision we have made, we being my boyfriend and I, we had a seafood platter for 1 which consists of a baby lobster, prawns about 4 and 2 langostings and chips, not much but very expensive that cost R900 the langostings were sweet and fresh prawns were really good but the lobster some how had a different taste it wasn't sweet and moist like I was use to, I still wonder what they do to their seafood because I broke out into an allergic reaction after consuming the seafood
Russel Roth
Lovely location and very upmarket , service was good , ordered a fillet medium , there were probably 7 people in the entire restaurant and my fillet came more well done , this is not acceptable when you paying a big premium for your food , and on top of it the restaurant was quiet.
Elaine Lahoud
Paranga is an upmarket restaurant with a beautiful view onto camps bay beach. The menu is quite expensive and although the sushi is delicious the size of the portions are small. With white tablecloths, an extensive menu and great wine selection this makes a great spot to take tourists.
Ka Wing 88
These places on the Camps Bay strip are so over-rated. I ordered salmon roses as a starter. Four smallish roses lined up on the plate. I popped one in my mouth, only to realise they are made of rice wrapped in salmon. The rice was tasteless and dry. I ordered a sirloin-prawn combo. My steak arrived medium rare despite ordering medium. Everything was quite bland. The highlight of the evening was Sol Campbell (former England footballer) eating nearby.
Bridget
We were recommended to go to paranga by locals but we weren't overly impressed. The food was good but not rave worthy. It is a beach side restaurant (although not many tables with views ) so maybe the recommendations are location based.
Breaan Spies
Great cocktails, good food, not great service. Overpriced for what you get..... Much better options in Cpt. If you want to compete you need to stand out. Go for a Old Fashioned cocktail and move on
Agatha Thorpe
Great view, staff were friendly, and the food nice. My friends enjoyed more than I did but I'm not big on prawns which they ate. Must be lovely here for sunset cocktails.
Kate Ball
I met my friend there early evening Thursday just gone 10 March. We waited ages to even be acknowledged let alone offered a drink the service was terrible. We eventually got to order our food a good while later and when it arrived it did not look at all appetizing. I ordered a chicken burger which was certainly not cheap - the chicken tasted like cardboard, the dressing was two very tired bits of lettuce and the chips were stale - the chicken and chips both tasted as if they had been reheated. When we had the audacity to complain to the manager he told us the chips could only be cooked fresh as they were frozen - not at all what you expect from a restaurant pretending to offer fine dining !! He did not want to listen to any of our comments let alone think about apologizing and rather suggested we must leave if we didn't like the meal then proceeded to direct two bouncers to our table to chuck us out - UNBELIEVABLE !!! I have lived in Cape Town 15 years am a 55 year old lady and eat out regularly often three or four times a week and have NEVER EVER been treated in such an appalling manner by the management of a supposed fine dining restaurant !?! I will now actively discourage anyone I know from frequenting this dreadful establiashment
Antia Hanekom
We took out our friends from the UK to experience the view and vibe of Campsbay for dinner which turned out to be very disappointing. Service was exremely slow and the waiter as well as the manager argued that what they have served was ostrich fillet - it was beef, confirmed by 4 people. Needless to say the chef never came to the table to confirm what meat he served as promised and we left without ordering any desert or coffee. Wont go back nor refer anyone (local or foreigner) So many better options in CPT!!!!

On the eve of my brother's birthday we had selected Paranga as our place of choice. I enjoyed Tempura prawns as a starter, followed by the baby kingklip with tarter sauce. For desert I had plain vanilla ice cream. The meal itself was good however the night wasn't up to expectations as there was no avocado, oysters or mussels. Which prevented us from having sushi or any of the dishes we had become accustomed to enjoying at Paranga.
Danica Astra Prout-Jones
Without a doubt one of the classier places to enjoy a wine and dine experience. White table cloths, an extensive menu filled with seafood dishes, sushi platters, good wine and the works. We only came for a drink but next time I'd like to judge the food. If the cocktails are anything to go by, the food should be awesome!
I was put off a little by the fact that after we were seated, we were ignored for about 15 minutes before I got the attention of a waiter who finally brought us some menus.
After being told that there had been a mix up behind the bar, we waited a bit longer than necessary for two cocktails. When it arrived, My Aperol Spritz went down singing hymns and my date really enjoyed the Pineapple Express. While Paranga certainly sets the scene for an extravagant dining experience, it's also a great option for some decent (and quite steeply-priced) cocktails on the day you feel like spoiling yourself! Be prepared to wait but the experience is a treat!
Deshivan Shunmugam
Food was fresh, portions were big, the price isn't too expensive an for extravagant dining experience. It is highly recommended especially with the amazing sunset veiw
Stuart Bateman
Our annual Indaba at Paranga is always a highlight of our year. We would order the entire menu if we could only get through it. No langoustines this time so a reason to come back. The service is always out standing. Highly recommended worthy of my highest rating ever.
Mosa Mashati
Kove restaurants never disappoint with their meals but the breakfast at Paranga was just too average and overpriced. They also didn't have enough freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning.:(
Lauren Holtshousen
My husband and I visited Paranga on Thursday. We were served by Ruth. What an amazing experience, the sushi was superb and the service was perfection.
Veralda Schmidt
Just had a great lunch at Paranga to treat 3 international guests. Firstly the service from Nomvu (I hope I get the name right) was great. Attentive and witty and pacing us like a pro. I opted for the fishcakes that were slighly dry, how about a light coriander aoli next time? My guests raved about their sole, burger and chicken breasts. The sole looked great. Our deserts were yummy, although I found the stawberry mess too sweet. I think the honey could be sub standard, but all in all great. My Japanese guest had some prawn maki and said it was some of the better sushi he had in SA. This is expensive on the Rand but I guess one also pays for the view.

Food has always been excellent and service. The gourmet burgers are a must. However this time making a booking seemed quite impossible and their seems to be a serious communication problem over phone and online. Great location to enjoy the sea views.
Awni Berry
What a nice place to eat , went there with friends we had sushi and wine and we ate A lot the bill came out 112 dollars for four people , I mean where can you eat sushi for 4 people at this price , our waiter was friendly and helpful the ambiance is great please visit there if your are in Cape Town
Fareed Hare
The atmosphere is amazing and the delicious food goes well with the breast-taking view. I had the best prawn tempura starter and shared the seafood platter with a friend. The seafood platter was all grilled and light-seasoning compliments the fish. I expected a bit more from the dessert though - the Rock Road dessert was ok! I'll definitely come back and try the rest of the menu and desserts. Lastly, the service was great but you will wait long for a table if you do not make a reservation.
Jason McLeod
Delicious seafood platter for 2. Everything tastes amazing: love this place!, the service, ambience and quality of the food was also top class.
Tyron Van Rensburg
Breakfast with a view, great location overlooking the ocean. Had a pretty standard breakfast, however was done well. Would definitely come back!
Suitcases And Lattes
Some of the worst service I've ever received. The waiter badgered us every 5 minutes and brought us the bill before we asked for it. There was plenty of seating available so not sure what his problem was. I had the butternut salad which was straight up mediocre. I paid R115 for leaves that seemed like they were going off, a few pieces of butternut and 4 pieces of feta. Sub par. I've had cheaper salads (R90) at the bungalow which was 10x better. This place is a tourist trap. Avoid it. And yes the view is nice but you can get the same view at Gelato Mania, 100m away
Mduduzi Nxumalo
Good food, good views just hectic prices! Their avocado ritz is to die for!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Outdoor seating is a must have otherwise you lose out on the views
Shahima August
This place gets packed on a Saturday night.Busy and frenetic.I orded the calamari dish and my hubby a chicken burger which turned out to be a very flat schnitzel on a bun with some lettuce leaves....and that was it...no sauce or even other salads. The burger came with a side of chips...The most expensive dissappointing burger ever.My calamari was ok.my friends both ordered the bbq chicken breast which tasted good but the presentation was a let down.the manager took our coffees off the bill as I queried the presentation of the mains.Good service but overpriced food.
Georgina Katz
Our food order arrived and it was missing ingredients. My friend ordered the grilled sole- well the menu said it was grilled but it arrived in an anchovy sauce of some kind. She also ordered a side order of veg but it came with chips. Normally I would brush these things aside but for the prices that they charge, I would have expected a lot more from this place!

Paranga always features on my list of spots to get to if I am spending more than a day in Cape Town. During peak season it's essential to book.

We were fortunate to secure a table between the lunch and dinner sessions and spent the afternoon sipping cocktails (my favorite the espresso martini) whilst the sun slowly set.

Seafood are their specialities but their red meat dishes are not bad at all.

We had the sushi starters which were fresh and really good, right up there with the best of sushi spots.

Today the wifey and I opted for the seafood platter for two, comprising two crayfish and generous portions of calamari, fish, prawns and langoustines.

The people dining with us selected the crayfish salad and the salad nicoise. All dishes were presented well and were divine.

Coupled with the Iona Sav Blanc, a great afternoon was had by all.

Paranga can be a but pricy but pretty much most of Cape Town is on 'Euro pricing' so one must just enjoy the experience:
Dino
Decent food with great views, perfect for soaking up the summer vibes in Cape Town, although you pay for this prime spot with an expensive menu. We had the prawn tempura skewers to start and seared sesame crusted tuna steaks for mains, both very tasty and fresh, although not very imaginative. For dessert, the apple crumble was delicious. Couldn't believe the manager came to ask us to taste another tables mineral water as they complained it tasted "fishy", why use us as Guinea pigs and not just accept their complaint and replace the water, is beyond me!
James Costello
3words-Truffle Butter Fillet!! Chef Amber a GENIUS! Mouthwatering meat lovingly ladled with white truffle-infused butter+wasabi mash..SCORE! BRILL service from Ruth+Monique too! @jamescapetown FAVE for sure!!
Rose Marie Pereira
Location, this place has it hands down, sip on a cocktail watching the sun go down. Good food, but the prices! quite expensive. I have been there 3 or 4 times, but every time I get the bill, I feel like I'm overseas paying in dollars! :)
Shane Nefdt
Stunning view, excellent cuisine, fantastic owner and manager, marvellous all round experience. Lovely vibe and ambience - look forward to visiting again as soon as I am able!
Samantha Matos
Wonderful restaurant on Victoria drive over looking the ocean. We had a lobster salad and some sushi and it was all fresh and delicious. Good service and decor is a treat.
Meagan Whitehorn
Wonderful location and view. The service is exceptional and you really do feel well taken care of throughout your meal. Their speciality is fish and I had the herb crusted kingklip with salad with was delicious. For me the only down side is the price, most of the main courses are over R200 and the seafood platter for 2 is R1250 which I think is very expensive. For a small piece of Kingklip with salad at almost R200 it is a little over priced.

So another brilliant experience ( luckily we were entertaining internationals or we may have had a problem justifying this bill - hostess is the best "up sell" expert in CT - anyway !!
Service 10/10
Food 8/10
We had: Goats Cheese and Biltong Carpaccio to start - overpriced but tasty !!
3 variations of Kingklip - everyone loved it - personally I thought the portion of grilled Kingklip was too small for the price !
I had the surf and turf - by far the best fillet I have had in ages - melt in the mouth - also a little actually a lot pricey !!
Topped off with two bottles of Diemersfontein Pinotage = perfect meal !!!
Wine Glasses - OMG so far the most perfect I have come across !
The reason I am not rating this amazing restaurant as a 5 is purely an economical one - CT is the quietest I have seen it this year - lower the prices a bit - fill the seats ....#justsaying 😉

The chocolate fondant is the best I have ever had! Everything about it was perfect. Not too sweet. Just right! Loved it! Absolutely blew my taste buds!

A very welcoming vibe with lovely seating almost on the beach. The service is very good and up to standards. Of course the view is the best feature of the restaurant and the way it's furnished compliments the whole look and vibe, very avant grade..
The food is quite expensive but very satisfying! I think the only bad thing about the place is that the tables are extremely close together.

Always been a firm favourite of mine. The service went down for a while but has really picked up again. The food is always consistent and the cocktails are great. Be sure to book in Summer.

Camps Bay's finest. What better way to enjoy great seafood surrounded by white serene beaches and fresh Western Cape air. The only low point is the staff looking down on you if you are not a deserving local.

Probably our BEST Camps Bay experience EVER! And we've lived in Cape Town and frequented many restaurants along this strip. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for and we were not in the slightest disappointed. We arrived early for sundowners and having visitors from UK with us, we headed across to the beach to take some photo's of the sunset. To our amazement and joy, our waitress popped across the road and served us our cocktails to enjoy on the beach!! What fantastic service, I don't think this is a given for the restaurant, and I am sure we were lucky, but it definitely set a wonderful tone for our meal. We all had delicious fish or seafood and my seared tuna was done perfectly. Can't wait to go back in summer!

Dinner here was really wonderful. We had the tuna and wasabi mash and fillet beef and peppered sauce and both were perfectly done. Wonderful waitress.... I don't part easy with compliments.... but must say I really liked this place! #chilledvibe#calmness#nomnom

What a shitty attitude. This restaurant won't serve you if you're not planning to eat at them. They will send you away even when the restaurant is empty.

Disappointed for the first time - perhaps as a result of arriving just ahead of the kitchen closing. The 'front' lady was quite put out when we requested a specific table as it had to be 'set'. It would take too long she moaned! With it being late and little option of going elsewhere we reluctantly accepted another table. To crown things, the food was average, the service was good though.
Will only go back in the daylight to enjoy the view which overrides any service shortcomings.

One of our rituals whenever we are in Cape Town. Food is always good any time of the day and the relaxing inviroment is fantastic. Excelente venue for sun downers.

We went to Camps Bay for a late dinner. We chose Paranga based on their Zomato score. When we arrived they were full however management seated us at the bar as we waited for a table. Great vibe in the restaurant. We were seated about 15 minutes later - just in time for our starters. I had the calamari. My friends had tempura prawns and seared tuna. Flavours were good, although the portion was small. For mains I had lamb chops. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. The only let down was the mash which had zero salt in it! Wait staff were friendly. Great spot and I can highly recommend it.

Very expensive and ran out of tuna. Cape Town can offer much better quality for half the price elsewhere. You are paying for the view so make sure it's a good table.

Lunched at Paranga, Kamps Bay on a sunny Sunday afternoon in September.
We had a table just inside the restaurant with a view of the beach.
The decor is clean and cool and airy, but with eclectic touches of warm colours and textures.
The white wine was served, chilled to just the right temparature, in a big wine glass.
The food was delicious. I had a Sushi salad: sashimi and veg on iceberg lettuce, no rice. Great for carb concious people!
My husband had his favorite, lovely Tempura Prawns.
Their Sushi was fresh and very good. The Paranga Rolls, again for the Carb Concious, are made of prawn, salmon and crab rolled in cucumber - fresh and light.
Hubby had the Seafood Platter for one with salad, have a look at the photograph! I had baby kingklip and mash and loved it. Normally I avoid Kingklip because of it's firm texture. This one was perfect!
The service was friendly and professional. Expensive but highly recommended.

Deliciously fresh seafood, though a bit expensive. We started with the Cajun Dusted Patagonian Calamaris, the Ahi Seared Tuna and the Tempura Prawns. All fantastic choices, I loved the Tuna (which also came accompanied with a small vegetable salad). We also had a bottle of the house white wine, something de Fleur :-) For mains we had fresh tiger prawns, mouth watering, though priced at 130R per piece :-/ The grilled Kingclip, dusted with almonds and topped with mango chutney was also fantastic!

The atmosphere is most beautiful, across the street from the beach, very Ibiza like. White table clothes, comfortable couch like seating. Make sure to be there for sunset, magnificent pinks and oranges fill the sky. Service is great, the manager visited our table to make sure we were happy :-) You're in the heart of Camp's Bay, what more could you want!

Cape Town is no stranger to beautiful beaches, people and seafood. And this is what Paranga makes a point of capitalizing on.

As one of many restaurants on Camps Bay's golden strip along Victoria Road, which overlook beautiful
Camps Bay beach, Paranga is a laid back albeit upmarket restaurant specializing in exquisitely prepared fresh seafood. Flavours lend towards contemporary Asian and European (worth noting is that they have an in-house sushi chef); you can expect the likes of Thai Style Mussels, Cashew Kingklip, and arguably one of Cape Towns best seafood platters accompanied by all the trimmings. Portions are plentiful and freshness is always guaranteed; best advice I could give is to come hungry!

Service is efficient and friendly, and regulars will appreciate how waiters go the extra mile to recognize frequent patronage. This is one of those places that tipping that extra percentage is well worth it.

The best way to enjoy Paranga is over a bottle of wine (or two), which appears to be carefully selected by the owners to compliment the restaurant's idilic location, while you overlook the Miami-like activity and people-watch the beautiful folk of Camps Bay. It makes for one of the most memorable lunch experiences in Cape Town.

I went to Paranga on my last visit to Cape Town. The restaurant looks fantastic with an airy, open feel. As with most establishments in the Cape the service is very good with an understanding that a good tip at the end of a meal is proportionate the level of service given.

The menu is focused toward Shellfish and Fish. The quality of the fish is excellent as one would expect in Cape Town. I went for the Calamari starter which was simple yet very tasty and the baby Kingklip for main which was the stand out dish of the meal. Although I chose not to have any wine with my lunch, the list looked comprehensive.

The prices where in line with what we received and I left having had a very pleasing experience. I will return on my next vista to CT. Give it a try when next you are in Camps Bay.

Perfect for Summer dining...I feel like I'm in St.Tropez when visiting Paranga...perfect for people watching and having some really good sea-food. As mentioned previously, my obesession with a good steak, and Paranga never lets me down. Their steak is perfectly cut and cooked rare like it should be. My only complaint is the Mash....bland and not creamy enough, though their chips are really tasty and come in a cute bucket type of thing. One of my favourite Summer places..great for people watching too...
