My favorite vida for a morning coffee

Popped in for a quick lunch and coffee. The Portuguese tomato, bean and corn soup was tasty, could do with a bit more spice. Definitely value for money. We tried a slice of chocolate cake, 😋. And my favorite drink at the moment is a dirty chai. Service is quick and efficient, just not a very friendly waitress.

2017-10-30
Love their new menu. Now you get to have a grande option for most of hot beverages. One big bonus is that conscious vegans can opt for almond or soya milk for their coffee. Some places won't charge extra but this place will, for almond milk. During lunch time you can choose amongst the healthy toasts, muslie or croissant. Nice place to chill and enjoy European-like atmosphere.

Vida is our go-to spot for a quick breakfast grab as it's just a few hundred metres from work. I usually order a latte, and their coffee isn't bad but I think I prefer Seattle's. I also sometimes get their chai latte which is quite good.

Their muffins are a bit doughy and their sandwiches are standard fair. In the summer months their frios are a refreshingly delicious, especially the chai ones.

The guys behind the bar are always super friendly and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere, but the food isn't really worth the high price tag. It's more a convenience than anything else...

We come to Vida often as it's really close to my work. Quick service and very friendly staff who are always willing to help. My usual is the chai latte to drink and I've tried most of the stuff on their menu, from the oats to the wraps, croissants, sandwiches, rolls, muffins and other baked goods. All were pretty good. It can get a bit pricy though, especially when it comes to the food. But it's fast and convenient and it doesn't leave you with that "I ate so much food, oh the horror" feeling, which is great. This time I tried their muesli cup. It had the right amount of honey and a really tasty yougart.

In between meetings it was a joy to find a Vida in the midst of the Sliver Stream Office Park. Sadly for the few hours I was there there Always On was so off. Nice perk is that they do offer low carb, high protein meals however there were no waters in stock and service was mediocre.

Service is always very friendly if you're ordering a take-away. The toasted sandwiches leave much to be desired if you grab one out of the glass display case. They are not at all generous with the filling - one would hope that with a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich the cheese would at least reach the edges of the bread. I have to say that if you're lucky and arrive when all the toasted sandwiches in the case are finished they will make you one from scratch and if you're cheeky enough you can ask them to be a little more generous with the filling. My go to sandwich is the basil pesto, tomato and mozzarella toastie - it's super tasty and served on a nice whole wheat bread. Not my first choice for lunch but it's close to work so sometimes is the easiest option.
