I love the attention to decor detail. It's a really great place to grab a drink and have something to eat while enjoying live music. The food is delicious. I would definitely recommend trying the Veggie burger with an added lamb patty. My favorite ��
Had my first visit since the renovations and was totally blow away at how awesome the place looks! The food was great, highly recommended the Skal burger - soooo yummy. And was super impressed that they have their own brand of beer which is so lekker! Can't wait to go back.
The place is amazing and the staff is awesome. The food speaks for it self with generous helpings and taste of exelince. Had a great time there and urge all my friends to try them out. Warning though... you’ll get addicted to this place!!!!

Skal bar is a very original and vibey bar. I Personally love the decor, of which you can see has been put a lot of thought in to. The burgers i have eaten there are simply Amazing, i always find myself comparing other restaurants burgers to skal burgers and yet i still have to experience a better burger than theirs. The staff are so friendly and very polite, thank you Skal.
Been here a few times. Great change to the area. Menu is small but good if you’re in the mood for something cheeky. Love the music. Had an issue with a waiter in the past, but I’m glad to see he’s not there anymore.

Tried this place with a friend for dinner and LOVED it. The atmosphere is great. Love the décor!!! The food was delicious! I had the original burger and my friend had the Skal burger. Both was really good. The whole vibe is great. Will definitely be visiting again. A definite hidden gem!
Great little gem in brackenfell! Huge tasty & flavourful burgers and great value for money. The Skal burger has a steak patty that is just too good. Definitely worth checking it out if you're in the area!
Finally: not another mega-chain. Great experience every time I've been there. It's a great spot for me to do some work in the afternoons while having lunch, as they have wifi and plug points for me to charge my laptop. The staff have been really friendly and helpful. I also like that there are board games and the decor has a nostalgic aspect which I love. The atmosphere is great and it's a nice place to chill and to have some uncomplicated yet tasty food. My favourite was the Skal Burger and The Fortuin, but I also enjoy the salad bowl on days where I don't feel like a burger. Some outside seating would be great in the future, but I'm very excited to see the business grow!
We had drinks and shared a plate of chips. The decor is classy, food is good, the house beer is nice as well. The service was great, but the bar area is also the smoking area. Still, I can’t wait to go back for the awesome pub vibe
Fantastic vibe, delicious food (and they cater for vegetarians). Love the décor and the theme. Will definitely visit them again. Only problem I had is that they don't have a lot of wine options for people like me who only drink wine.
Fantastic dining experience! The place has a grungy-southern-biker type of vibe (but somewhat more refined). The Southern chicken burger I ordered was delicious and they are generous with their portions. It is also quite affordable and it is possible to have a burger (chicken) and beer for under R100.00. I was there early on a Sunday afternoon, so obviously the place wasn't packed. Nevertheless, I imagine it picks up later since they only close at 02:00 am. Note the awesome Star Wars pinball machine. They also sell Boston Coffee which is always a favourite. Great experience!
Brackenfell's best kept secret. Really great atmosphere, exceptional service at the bar, and good pricing on drinks. Food was what you would expect for a bar. Worth a visit each time!
2019 - Fantastic bar and eatery.
2023 - Service has definitely become slower since my last visit. Inattentive bar service, waiting some 10 to 15mins for a beer, while bar lady had a chat to her friends. Pity. Quite enjoyed my time here when I lived in Cape Town.
Doesn’t look like much but it was a pleasant surprise. Freshly made pizza and some of the best burgers in town. Would recomend this eatery any day

Best whiskey basted ribs and chicken wings in town!!! Their loaded fries… deepest temptation and desires = SATISFIED! 😂 I absolutely love the vibe of this place..: Their choice of music, along with a decent selection to offer from their food menu and drinks. Everywhere you look there’s something interesting that catches your eye - it gives the feel of local biker bar with a bit of a twist. The bar staff and waitrons are very helpful and friendly.
Love the way skål looks, each time I walk in there's something new, it keeps your eyes busy for hours. The disco fries are to die for (it's just a bit smaller than it was the last time I ordered it..) the staff can be a bit friendlier too. Overall love the place and would highly recommend it.
Such an awesome dining experience! Felt like I was in northern Europe, in a bar that only plays metal and rock. Also one of the best burgers I've ever had the pleasure of eating!

Had a great time, Owner and staff are accommodating. Great atmosphere and affordable drinks, all while maintaining surprisingly classy and professional standards. Best Breakfast sandwich I've had in years, hands down.
Decent enough spot to come for a beer. Good variety of beers, the music was great and I enjoyed the chicken burger. The wife felt a bit old and overdressed. The theme is alternative, bear that in mind.
