Review Rio Grande Restaurant - Brackenfell

Been in Cape Town 3 months, been to Rio Grande 14 times already. A local gem with liquor prices that are not greedy. The Prego roll and prawns Peri-Peri are superb 👌🏻. Going back soon. PS: the Espatada is 💯💯💯

What an amazing experience at Rio Grande. Complements to the chef. Live sport and light music in die back ground. Smoking and non smoking areas. Nice Bar with amazing staff that assists you. Food 10/10 and specials running daily.

Watching the semi final.... SA vs Eng... wow what a game... but food is always excellent.... atmosphere is awesome and I can't even rate the service.... no words can describe the amazing bunch of staff at this restaurant... always friendly and accommodating... on the ball and just the best ever. We have been back so many times since this review... Why.... because it's still soooo good. The food. The atmosphere. The service. The company and new friends you make. Wish I could meet and compliment the kitchen staff myself.... and maybe get a tip or too from them.... hehehe

Good Restaurant and pub for a dinner and some drinks. They got a smoking and non smoking section. Got great service from the waiters.

A pretty chilled restaurant (we (2 people) went on a Sunday afternoon) with good service. The food was amazing and the prices reasonable. I loved the Dark Widow shooter (thanks to the waiter's recommendation). They have a smoking and non-smoking zone, which is a plus. I'll definitely be going back there again.

Local watering hole with very affordable food. Monday and Tuesday Burger specials are wonderful for family meals. Handicap access. Quick service. Good variety on the menu and at the bar.

We went to the Rio Grande Restaurant on 21 December 2018. They have a variety of specials and some specials are only specific to certain days. We had the famous Chicken Schnitzel and a large pizza. It was so filling that we took most of the food home. Really good value for money. There is safe parking outside the venue with car guards who keep a watchful eye.

Seriously, my favourite thing besides their awesome pizza is the salted caramel milkshake!

It was my first time ordering pizzas from Rio Grande for takeaway and I was pleasantly surprised. The pizzas tasted good and had quality toppings. It was very filling, extremely cheesy, and we still ate from it the next day as we couldn’t finish our pizzas in one sitting. It lacked the traditional tomatoe base which I missed, but it was still delicious. <br/><br/>The only negative was the waiting time. When we called they said that the pizzas would be ready in 30 minutes. We waited 30 minutes at home, drove to the restaurant to pick up our pizzas, and then we waited another 45 minutes at the restaurant. We understand that it was a Saturday night and they were very busy, but rather say over the phone that the food will only be ready in more than an hour than letting customers wait in the restaurant. <br/><br/>All in all, great food and it was worth the wait.

The atmosphere and vibe in this place is amazing. <br/><br/>They offer many specials in the week such as the double burger special on Mondays and Tuesdays and the Chicken Schnitzel special on Saturdays.<br/><br/>The waiters are really professional as well.<br/><br/>If you ever come to Brackenfell, make a turn at Rio Grande.

We come here a lot as it is close to us and we see it as a sort of tradition when my grandparents come to visit. I am in love with the chicken schnitzel and cheese sauce! It is my absolute favourite. Another favourite is the surf and turf. I am not such a fan of the burgers though. I feel that the food is always well priced and have had very little problems in the past. The waiters are always friendly however service is a bit slow when they are busy but that is to be expected. They always have great specials!

Value for ur money! Quick survice and great ambiance!! Also have specials.... Everyday!! Try the prawn and calamri combo...its amazing!! Mind you their whole menu is amazing!!!!!

What a pleasant surprise! Food was really good and the portions are huge. Only negative is the fact that you have to enter and leave the restaurant through the bar/smoking area. Jam jars are pretty decent too 😀👍

Always enjoy Rio, been a big fan since the very first time I had the pizza. If we don't go there, then we order the food for take away. Always recommend to my friends and family.

I absolutely love Rio's food, typical pub style food.. Love it! Definitely value for money. Only problem i have is the salads which isnt up to standard but other than that its perfect!

Hidden gem indeed... Chicken Gordon blue the size of my arm..best ribs and friendly staff... And not expensive at all! And o also love the specials...great place to just sit and have lunch or supper :)

Been going there for years, not as often as I would like to though, but that is just because I don't live in Brackenfell. The service is sometimes slow, but that might be because they are always busy. The food is amazing. I've ate almost everything on the menu and it's all very good. The pizza's is better than what you'll get at most places and the Eisbein is to die for.
