Found this place while waiting for our movie at Capegate. This place has a lot more meat and cheese than I’d usually go for so I’m basing it on the reviews of my Friends. Apparently the steaks and ribs were great value for money and well cooked. They polished off massive pieces in no time.
Sir Loin is a great eatery in the Northern suburbs, having various specials of which their date night & burger specials are some of the more popular.
They have a cozy atmosphere, as well as a great bar section.
I would recommend anybody to try their half-price burger special 🍔

Always see Sir Loin when we drive to the gym so we decided to give it a try. It was the burger special night and indeed was this one of the best burgers...

First night out since my stint in hospital and we decided to visit Sir Loin for dinner. The restaurant is very neat and well presented inside. I love the whisky and brandy on display. Wife decided to have some cocktails which are very reasonably priced, taste good and pack a real punch. She would return just for the cocktails alone.
I had some chicken wings as a starter which I enjoyed, they were nice and juicy and not overcooked like most places do them. I had the 300g sirloin with veg and onion rings. Steak was great, cooked as requested, basting sauce was delicious (not too sweet) and I loved the veg. Onion rings were good too, didn't have that dark brown, cooked in old oil look and taste.
Wife had the 500g sirloin with cheese and mushroom sauce. Her steak was equally good and she said the salad was good as well.
Service from James was excellent. Nice chatting food and whisky with the manager as well. Will definitely be returning.
We had great service and even better food! Among our orders were the blackened rump, biltong and avo rump and Madagascan rump. The chips are delicious and the veggies as well. I had the Fun in the Sun cocktail which was divine and I would definitely order it again!

The 500g peppermelt rump steak I ordered with veggies was absolutely devine as well as thw service I recieved from my friendly waiter. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who has an appetite and want to relax in the Brackenfell area. You people impressed me today; keep up the good work.

I have been to Sir Loin numerous times and have always a had a good experience! I have mostly had the burgers and they are truly great (served with chips and onion rings). Waiters are mostly friendly and helpful. Worth a visit!
Only order steaks. They are cooked close to perfection every time. Don't order anything else. The vibe is cool during sports, but the bar area gets very smokey and becomes unbearable, stay in the restaurant. Good value for money.

Went for dinner last night. The staff went out of their way to set up a table for us as they were mostly fully booked. The service by Jessica was very good. Snails were excellent, ribs good and the steak and pork snit excellent. Sim Pedro's and Irish coffees were good as well. Cold beer and well priced wine did the trick. Well done Sir Loon.
Such a nice steak restaurant with friendly service and amazing food. Their prices are reasonable and nd their food is always so delicious. Nice place for the family or even for a romantic dinner date. Service is great and the restaurant feels warm andndndnd inviting. A must try in Brackenfell.
Lesson learnt : been avoiding (yes you read correctly) Sir Loin for over a year ..why ? Because of other peoples opinion. Wonder that when you are unhappy about the food/service,why not sort the problem there and then.
Went there for a birthday lunch and the food was delicious and the portions is big.. Our waiter was really cool I have to admit its the best meal I had in a while. (I say that lightly as I attract bad food lol)

Stopped here for a few froffies with a mate. Service is pretty good and the food would be worth the visit as this used to be a Dros and from what I heard a pretty good one at that. There isn't really a lot in the area so this place was busy.
Staff are attentive but needed to have more craft beer in stock and there was a blunder with getting the wrong beer I ordered. But not a train smash.
It's good that the Resturant is separated from the bar area. The bar area has couple of screens showing whatever sport is on. Nice place to enjoy a meal and have a few drinks with friends.
Weird to say that i have only been to Dros i think 1 time in my life, so not totally sure how the vibe is, but as this was the old Dros, i could imagine that the feeling is the same, the food was great! tasty and not at all overpriced!! Good place to have dinner with friends, or just a cozy night with your partner! Will be back to try them again!
Lovely setting, very friendly staff and service was good. I had the fillet with caremalised onion and marrow and the lady had their pasta of the day. My fillet was a bit chewy, but was done perfectly, the lady's pasta was amazing, she felt it had a little much garlic, but i loved it. Due to the all and all experiance ill push my rating to a 4, but the food was a decent 3.5. Not that I am a conneseur at all, but I felt the steak was missing something, just my oppinion.
All in all a great night out.

The burger special on a Sunday and Monday is an awesome way to survive on a student budget. Quality food and lots of it! I'll be sure to visit again!
We went there for a first time and had a great experience. Their food portions are big, and very tasty as well. We had the stuffed peppadew calamari starter, and the Sir Loin pizza, which is quite hot but very very tasty and saucy! From what the waitress told us, it is still the old Dros, except they don't pay royalty fees anymore and their food standards are better.. Good experience, will go back.

We went to Sir Loin for Sunday lunch. I had a 300g steak which I was very happy with only to be told by our waitress the steak was to small so she brought me another large serving, has anybody ever heard of a restaurant doing that. Excellent service and food.
Went to Sir Loin for breakfast. Excellent value for money and really good food. Good choice available on the menu. Service and friendliness of staff made the experience.

For years we have perfected the art of hunting, cutting and grilling. When I hear the word meat i can't help but image a thick cut of rump or sirloin steak on the grill, slowly dancing with with the flames, seducing it with its charm until the time is right for them to part ways. We all love a good@ steak dinner but let's face it,having a Gourmet steak in a decent restaurant is going to cost you. I recently went to a new place that opened up near Cape Gate and i was highly impressed with the service, prices and quality of the food. They made it able for you to have a perfectly cooked and tender gourmet steak and drink for only a 150 rand. The place that I am speaking about is Sir Loin located in the same centre as Cape Gate`s Virgin Active. I had a 300 gram rump steak covered in caramelized onions topped of with brie cheese and half an avo. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned to perfection. The food portions are big and you really have a sense of getting value for your money. If you are ever in the Cape Gate area and feel like treating youself or a loved one ,SIr Loin is the place to be.

I read other reviews and the one that got me was, “this is my go to place for burgers” - so we had to try it. Very glad we did!
The burgers were large, and tasted the way real burgers should. Flame grilled. Fresh. Large. Delicious.
We also enjoyed snails, salad, and chicken schnitzel.
The waitress was very attentive and on this cold day we felt well looked after.
Highly recommend.
There’s also the Entertainer app options on the menu where you can buy one and get one free. It applies to specific burgers and pizzas only so we were not able to take advantage of that today, but will come back for sure. 👍

Sir Loin is my favourite burger joint.
This time, we went for pizza and schnitzel and loved it.
Rockefeller, as the name suggests, had everything on it and priced at only R129.99.
Value for money for great food is the key here.
The booths (be safe and book) are cosy, intimate, and private.
Ps. The entertainer app can be used on burgers, pizza, 1 steak dish, and the schnitzel.
The Sir Loin is one of the places I like to revisit when I can. The steak and egg here is just how I like it, perfect, and at R169 for 300g its good value. Kwv special helps too. The restaurant itself is well located with kind of a view over the mountains and Cape gate. Its not too noisy and the service is friendly and reasonably paced considering workload.
Date night was nice. Quite noisy in the smoking section and the seating isn't as comfortable. Food was good. Can't complain.

Yes it’s a silly name (edit - it was called 'Sir Loin'), and yes, it’s not the best of locations in post-apocalyptic furniture depot meets sixties strip mall, but give it a go.
Interesting interior, ranging from smoking section benches through tables and chairs to ostrich (?) leather clad booths, it offers a range of seating styles. The menu is fairly extensive and very reasonable as to price. We had steaks and a fish dish and the low price point was apparent. Cheaper cuts of beef, and a fairly small portion of fish with very miserly sides. No garnish, no extras. However, for the price, very good, and the staff were amazing and attention excellent. One of the steaks turned out to be very tough, and on mentioning this, the server offered a new one and then made a full take-away steak to compensate without being asked. Brilliant service, and well done to the owners for allowing the staff latitude to fix an error and make the overall experience good.
This was such an awesome experience. The Service was impeccable. There has definitely been a change in management,not that my previous visits have been bad but the experience that we had on out latest visit was exceptional. We had the 3 course meal special that included a bottle of wine. The food was fresh,hot and flavourful. Staff was friendly, our waitress was on point and the manager made regular checkins. I'll definitely be back again.
Waited forever to get second order. Had 4 waiters in an hour. Waitress said "its getting a little busy" but there was 1 full table and 5 tables of 2. Prefered Sirloin. Hope this wil get better
Tip Top Service. One of those places that makes you feel that your custom is appreciated. Friendly atmosphere, ideal for family and business. I have been here during their quiet and busy times, the staff just rise to the occasion. Keep it up.

When you go to a place that checks more than all the boxes... wow wow wow !!!! Beautifully decorated with the fires going added to an already fabulous entrance. Excellent service from everyone and Washington was our Waiter. The food was moreish, plentiful and great value for money ... we will be back that is for sure !

First time going there and was immediately blown away. Brilliant reception, warm fire by the door, Lovely atmosphere, kind staff and some of the best tasting burgers I've had in a very long time. Thick patties and was on 50% special on Mondays.

Those who order the cheese cake ooh thats divine. The burger for takeaway i ate half that I needed to place rest away to enjoy later on. Burger homemade and very delicious.
