Such a beautiful little eatery in Botha's hill. Food was great tasting and great value for money. I always enjoy a place that has at least one 'ridiculous' burger option on the menu, and the burger stack is ridiculous in the best way. Delicious chips and generous portions also. Will definitely make this a regular outing.
When we arrived, we were immediately directed to an available parking. Once we entered the shop part of the place a lovely lady greeted us and explained that they are a bit busy so there might be a wait which we were fine with.
A friendly gentleman led us to a bench where we could sit and wait while our kids enjoyed playing at the play area which was great because it kept them busy. He also gave us a menu to look at and said we could order something to drink in the meantime which was so nice.
To our surprise within 10 minutes he was back and showed us to a table. Unfortunately the beef burgers were sold out but we decided what we wanted to have and placed our order.
While waiting for our food to arrive our kids continued to enjoy the play area which was close to our table and even made some new friends. The food didn't take that long to arrive and looked lovely especially the fries which was amazing, I highly recommend trying it.
The staff were really so amazing, friendly and helpful. It was such a lovely experience and definitely made us want to come back especially to try the burgers that they are well known for.
You can also check out the shop which is at the entrance and walk around the garden area which has beautiful plants for sale. The view was also very lovely.
Definitely a place I would recommend and visit again😊
One of our family's treat outings - great food every time we have been, simply breath-taking views and a well stocked nursery including a lovely indigenous plant selection. Oh, and a delightful gift shop to browse around. Gluten-free pizza and waffles and monster milkshakes are serious draw cards and the knee blankets for chilly days make you feel well cared for.

Loved coming to visit a new place and try something different. Beautiful views of the valleys and even has a nursery there for all the plant enthusiasts. Overall enjoyed it was just a bit overpriced for some of the simple dishes they were offering but it was delicious and fresh food. Will definitely visit again.
Lovely location for a light lunch or tea. Beautiful selection of potted succulents and garden plants. Great views if it's not misty. Play area for the kids and safe parking.
Serene quaint country restaurant just half an hour from Dbn. Warm sun, beautiful rolling hills, nursery, gift shop, restaurant all in one. What a treat.
Upon entering the restaurant, you are immediately greeted by a friendly lady who advises you how to proceed, the food is very tasty 😋 service is with a smile and polite, great play area for kids. Stunning views.
Set in the tree lined main road leading up into Bothas Hill you will find this beautiful stonehouse.
The crunch of the gravel under your foot as you walk accross the parking lot towards the main entrace enhances the features of the building even more.
Heading into the entrance you find a wonder little shop with lots to buy if you are not having something to eat at the restuarant. But I would recommend having a lite lunch, something to take note before sitting down is that you have to order your meal at the counter and collecting your table number.
Menu is well priced with a kids option for the little ones. Best seats in the house is down in the nursery on the deck overlooking the value of a thousand hills. In time gone by the steam train used to make its way puffing up the hill while bellowing out great puffs of smoke.
Be sure to check out the variety of plants in the nursery as they are fully stocked with what your garden needs to look in tip top shape.
Will I go back time and again - Yes
Would I recommend it other people - Yes
The Stonehouse Cafe is set in the beautiful nursery of Lee’s Superscapes and offers spectacular views of The Valley of a Thousand Hills.
Place your order at the counter from a great selection of breakfast, burgers, sandwiches , pizza’s and more and take your seat in the tranquil settings.
We opted for a burger & a pizza which were very tasty.
The experience was and scenery were both very enjoyable and peaceful. Will definitely be back soon.
We first visited this charming establishment on Saturday 30th September. The venue was super easy to find and upon entering the coffee shop, we were greeted by a super friendly lady who asked if this was our first time there. She easily explained how things work and directed us to our table. She very kindly adjusted the fan as it was a super hot day and she made sure we were comfortable. I really appreciated her input as to what foods they serve and which were most popular. It was easy to see that she loved her work and we really appreciated the guidance and friendliness. The food choices are wonderful and delicious and fresh. The cake selection was great too and very good. Would definitely visit again when in Durban
Great food, lovely setting and friendly service..lovely experience.
I went here for a family lunch. Their weekday lunch menu is a deal, with a decent amount of choices. I had the BBQ chicken pizza and enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere is lovely, cool breezy with lovely view and a relaxed ambience. The service is good. I would definitely recommend this place.
Beautiful little restaurant, delicious food and a sizeable menu. Definitely will visit again.
An absolutely stunning place. First and foremost the view was beautiful. There is lovely outside seating, we had a fantastic waiter who was super attentive and thoughtful.
The food was delicious! I highly recommend Stonehouse Kitchen.
** I think adding a wine tasting menu to pair with their cheese platter would be amazing!
Fantastic place for the children. My 2 granddaughters enjoyed the sandpit and play area. Parking is a bit tight inside. Lovely views from the deck. Food price was reasonable. Need to order and pay at the till point.
Oh Wow! What a great space.. Food was terrific-( I ordered the Burger- bacon jam & jalepeno YUM) We mostly loved the pairing of ingredients .... Generous portions... Delightful service. & a real sense that the owners & staff care for you.. The plants in the nursery are in great plant health. I got chatting with the front of house hosts (real friendly outgoing folk) & learnt that the owners are passionate gardeners & entrepreneurs. I could see exactly this at Stonehouse! Their passion shines through. The eatery, nursery, garden shop & gift store all well stocked & a delight to be at.. Business like Stone House are the foundation of SA economy. We love supporting small local businesses. I cant wait to go back- this time Im trying the milkshake & loaded fries.. Thank you for a Fab experience Kindest Lulu
