We went there about 30 min before the closing time but the waitress was so pleasant an accommodating. We ordered a chocolate cake to share and my oh my thank god I had someone to share with. It was bigger than I thought. Next time I will be sure to make a booking. This place has a vintage and homely feel. I enjoyed looking at every corner of the place. They have a buffet breakfast which we must go too one day. It's on my checklist

The breakfast wrap was "stodgy" eggs fine..bacon under cooked. Coffee and tea great. A lovely atmosphere.

A real find, this place. Its like you disappear into another world. Staff, food, decor - all charming. This is where you take your girlfriends for tea, and then pop in again with your Granny, and have a function here. So quaint and quirky.

A delightful rustic touch of antiquity. Peacefully hidden from the hustle and bustle. Reasonably priced. They daily serve breakfast, light lunches such as salads, trammezinis, toasted sandwiches, pizzas etc as well as wraps, burgers and steaks. Delicious Saturday and Sunday buffet breakfast, Sunday buffet from 12h00. They accommodate conferences, church groups, small weddings, kitchen teas, stork parties and high teas. Highly recommended.

My son and I went there today for brunch. I was irritable, miserable, cold and hangry due to no morning coffee due to loadshedding at home. We opted to sit inside by the cozy fire and man, it was lovely. The coffee was so good, the breakfasts delicious, the service friendly and very efficient and the ambience delightful. The ablutions were spotlessly clean and all the staff, from the owners to the cooks were warm and friendly. We'll be back for one of their buffet lunches and some cake. A HUGE plus is that they accept cash, my preferred method of payment.

What an amazing treasure of a place, Every room has been tastefully restored and decorated, The food was all freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The owner also came to the table and personally greeted and welcomed us. Will definitely be going back, looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch buffet next time we visit.

Beautiful gem in the heart of Boksburg. The atmosphere feels like you are not even in the city. Absolutely peaceful for a day out to stroll in the garden, house and eat on the pool deck.

I love the decor and the whole feeling in general. The food is always served fresh and tasty. This is a great place for a party or work related events.

The setting is what makes this place. There's so much to look at and it could keep you busy for hours. Very quaint in a great-grandmother kind of way. When I phoned to see if I needed to book for our table of six I found Carel the owner a bit unfriendly and abrupt. Our waitress Patience was so quick-witted and funny she had us laughing right through the meal, she's a real hoot . Service is a bit lacking though so don't go if are in a hurry.

Most people in our group had a baguette which looked full and tasty, another friend had a wrap which also was rated as quite delicious. I unfortunately ordered the Bobotie pancake and felt cheated compared to everyone else's meal. It was two small pancakes rolled up with a very small portion of Bobotie which had nothing else on the plate. It looked terrible, tasted mediocre and left me finished long before everyone else and I was still hungry. It should be served with a small side salad or at least garnish.

There is no credit card facility and this posed a problem for some of us as we had to scramble between us for cash.

They advertise they were votedBest of Ekurhuleni Tea Gardens 2016. Perhaps we went on a bad day so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and give them one more try and perhaps be able to give a more positive review.

A lovely experience that turned VERY sour.
My colleagues and I work close to the restaurant, and we organized a baby shower. We booked for 16 people, and explained the occasion. We confirmed that because of the time we were going, cake and tea would be perfect as we were there for an hour. Many people complained as the coffee was undrinkable. After the event, the owner called asking "if we were on a budget". He was completely arrogant and bombastic as we did not order according to his satisfaction. He called the restaurant a 'venue' of which we abused the privilege. We were there for a single hour. He told us we could never return for an event. He proceeded to send condescending whatsapps because we would not entertain his rubbish attitude over a phone call. Meanwhile there was no agreement whatsoever on a minimum payment or a need to pay for using the venue at all.
Such a pity that such a pretty venue has zero client culture and a terrible attitude. As much as we would like to support local small business, you don't have to tell us twice, we won't come back.
Be it two rand or two hundred rand, customer service is important.

Pity this stunning coffee shop was such a let down-Arum Symphony is set in old Boksburg in a days gone by setting-lovely gardens and decor.
But didn't expect too much. Except for the great company and bubbly waitress everything else was a total let down-
We ordered their French Toast with Brie & Bacon, it was more like a hunt for a piece of Brie -3 layers of French Toast and Bacon but two 1cm slivers of brie in the dish-We complained and was brought some more on the side-still not enough to my liking-
Then the shocker!!!!! I wanted to pay for the bill- NO CREDIT CARD MACHINE!!! only cash
Who in this day and age run a business like this?
I had to go on my phone and do a bank eft!
This was not advised to us beforehand and as I had a urgent meeting to go to I waisted time on doing the eft-
such a pity!

Substandard food, ok service, NO CARD MACHINE and NO WARNING. Think this owner should stick to flower arrangements in Heidelberg and stop trying to make this "hidden gem" work. It just isn't one.

Venu good venue , breakfast was disappointing, we were a table of 4 , eggs were all hard , toast never arrived , croissant was still a bit frozen coffee not good service was slow, credit card facility not available

Homely restaurant situated in the back roads of the old town Boksburg ! One is greeted by the antique stunning pieces situated in the place as you walk in. Strange but you learn to love it.

I went there on a sunny Saturday afternoon for cake and tea with friends and was quite pleased at the decadent chocolate cake that was served as well as the strong coffee. We sat outside and admired some of the rustic cute garden ornaments .

Unfortunately service was a bit slow. Other than that,I recommend the place for high teas, baby showers and breakfast/brunch .

Well this place must be my favorite place to visit whenever I am in South Africa! I used to go there often when I used to live in Boksburg, and I make a point to go there at least twice on every trip to SA.

Credit where it's due...
This place is stunning from the moment you walk in, all the way to your table. You look around in amazement at all the decor and collections. The phrase "Gem in the rough" absolutely describes this place perfectly.

I liked this place so much after my first visit, I've taken my mom, girlfriends, friends and even my mother in law there. Carel, the owner knows me and always makes a point to say hello and have a bit of catch up with me over a coffee. Through my friends, there has been a couple of do's there and even a hight tea and a baby shower. Everyone loves it.

Do yourself a favor and go try it out whenever you get a chance, and if you're there for breakfast, I strongly recommend having the "Carel's breakfast"

See you soon.

Definitely a hidden gem!
We were invited for a birthday party, and couldn't believe our eyes when we walked through the restaurant. Stunning antique furniture and decor, it is great to visit somewhere 'different' for a change. The food was amazing, and a steal at the price. The hosts are very accommodating and caring.
We'll be back!

The breakfast Menu had a good selection. Atmosphere and food is very good. The service is a bit slow! Rather go with cash cause card machine often doesn't work.
Quirky little spot hidden in the back of boksburg. Went for breakfast here with a friend. Decor is a bit odd but has character. Definitely multiple facets to this venue.

Loved the outside area more than the inside. First time i had ever seen these breakfast cups made with bread in a muffin tin with bacon and eggs. The cake was presented beautifully and tasted good too. Haven't been here in ages. Glad they still open.
