Review Cafe Ambrosia - Boksburg

I need to get hold of Oxford to update their dictionary. I can not get the right word to describe this blissful nostalgic girly day my daughters and I had. Being a 25th birthday I decided on trying the high tea. And wow.... It was just .....(dictionary word needed) here! Due to food allergies, the pastry chef send us the most amazing and delicious tray of delights. Every bite was just out of this world. It was difficult to decide what I liked best but the lavender macaron won. This is perfect for those girls only dates and/or guys this is the perfect spot to impress the lady or ladies in your life. Do visit the little charity shop on the premises. Just to much wonders to describe about this gem. Go on, make a booking and go see for yourself.

Wonderful place. Great vibe about it . First time there and it was lovely . Went to wedding reception in the evening and it was outside and very nice . From the staff to the owner they were all very nice and helpful. The food out of this world . All finger foods . The coffe was delicious. I could not stop eating . Well done to everyone that was involved in putting all of this together. Will definitely come again soon . It's in Benoni but it's worth the drive. Thank you again.

Beautiful place. Great food. Dog friendly and they have Pup cakes and Donuts for dogs, made of unseasoned carrot cake, plain yogurt and crispy bacon pieces. Love them

Was there for a birthday. This hidden antique house is a jewel not to be missed. You experience the ambiance of the victorian era the moment you step into the garden and the house. The service and food is excellent. Great place for a special occasion or just a treat. Will definitely drive there from Pretoria again.

The place is absolutely stunning, it has the perfect vintage set up. The little bakery is just amazing, lovely desserts and friendly staff. The food is delicious. They also have a vegetarian option. The menu is slightly expensive but its worth it. The portions and taste of the food is divine. If you in the benoni area then you have to visit this coffee shop,

Beautiful vintage setting and food was delicious, with fresh bread baked at their bakery. They also offer a wide variety of gin. The Artisan bakery sells the most delicious macaroons and brownies

We had an birthday event in the Lavender Room. And it was soo special and they were very helpfull and very fast with the orders. They have unique views of the old masterpiece of a home. Very warm welcome and interesting history stories. The menu is very delicious and would recommend this as a party venue.

Definitely one of our favourite local destinations! Quiet, homely coffee shop in a beautiful setting, with a unique menu of delicious goodies. The staff are always friendly, and the attached Artisan Bakery and Patisserie is a must visit!

The Victorian Secret is undoubtably a hidden gem in the neighbourhood. The service is world class and the food promises to not disappoint. The quaint little bistro-like restaurant sets a unique ambiance of a time long gone. The bakery / confectionary sells the best Macaroons in town.

What an awesome, quaint place. The scones were scrumptious, melt in your mouth, hot and fresh out of the oven. Would love to try other items on their menu. Everything looks delicious.

Nice food and service, although a bit expensive. We have been multiple times and have not been let down once. Will definitely visit again.

Have been meaning to visit the Victorian Secret for quite a while, and I was pleased with the great food, service and hospitality. The food is of a high standard and is without doubt prepared with a lot of pride and passion, and is well presented. Interestingly the menu gives a nod to some famous individuals who have lived in Benoni 😊. The staff are professional and friendly and greeted some of the patrons like old friends. We sat outide in the garden under the tree, with beautiful house lending its character to a truly perfect setting. Awesome!

Such a lovely little spot with a beautiful garden. A peaceful and relaxing environment. The food is absolutely delicious, especially their baked goods. A great place for tea with something sweet, breakfast or lunch. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Would definitely recommend visiting, and trying their macaroons.

Nice atmosphere, quality food and service is good. A bit pricey but reasonable for the amount of food you getting. Not too many options for vegetarians. All and all I will come back to Cafe Ambrosia.

This is a real jewel. Set in the heart of the nursery it makes for a lovely setting. The breakfasts are heavenly made with the freshest of ingredients. The ambrosia omelette is to die for as is the breakfast unusual. Staff are very friendly and efficient as well. A little oasis....
We had breakfast here. I had chicken mayo with sweet chilli sauce on rye, dad had the same but on tramazini (dad says he gives it a big 'ol 5!) My rye was delicious! Lots of filling and with a splash of jalapeño sauce made it lekker! Mom had traditional breakfast and said it was good! Uncle was not very impressed with the standard of his meal (Portuguese), good but not amazing. The little cousin had French toast and bacon and said it was a winner! Aunt had savory mince on toast and said it was alright.

Nestled in the center of Heckers nursery, with an overload of O2, the atmosphere is a fantastic place to grab some breakfast in a wonderful clean environment and a welcome break from other indoor establishments.

We usually go for their breakfast stack which is layers of Egg, bacon, hash browns and mushrooms. Their Cappuccinos are one of the tastiest i have had and their well priced kids menu reminds me of my childhood with items such as Toad in the Hole. there is a small play area which keeps the little ones entertained.

The constancy of the meals is the only concern, sometimes outstanding and other times just OK, but never bad. Definitely a great alternative to the franchise breakfast spots in the area.

A few weeks back we treated our parents to a breakfast. This place would definitely be considered a hidden gem. North rand rd is so busy with traffic that you dont always look left or right to notice their are a variety of coffee shops hidden in the nurseries.

Its situated at the back of the nursery so you get to walk through all the plants and flowers and take in the fresh air and greenery.

My mom and sister had been there a few times and this was my first visit there that day. The service was a little slow but the chef had come out bringing our orders and told us that some of their deliveries were late hence the backlog in getting orders out. The food was lovely fresh and appealing to the eyes. I took the bacon potato rosti avo and egg. Dad has the usual bacon and eggs combo, my sis had the crumpet with banana and bacon and my mom took the chicken schnitzel. They have a decent variety of breakfast options and even desserts. I love my cappuccino with fresh cream (you'll see my pic) and the lemon meringue was spot on.. nice crunchy base with a tart filling and even the waffle went down well.

All in all great food and nice fresh atmosphere sitting outside getting some vitamin d. There is even a small play area with a sandpit for the littleones to keep occupied.
