Review Kung-fu Kitchen - Boksburg

Jo-Ann Brits
Amazing food and amazingly priced, I could eat while on a budget as well as if you would have to eat with a large group. Vegetarian food is available. The prep does take a bit long but def worth it. You can get appetisers and a main meal with a drink for less compared to other places. The sushi is super fresh. The ambience of the place is great, sitting for large and small groups available. There’s also outdoors and indoors sitting.

Once again an amazing experience at Kung-Fu Kitchen. The service is kind and friendly and the staff are diligent to deliver quality service. The prices are absolutely in order and one feels comfortable ordering another drink or the desert you always wanted. There’s plenty of parking to the right of the restaurant. There’s also an outdoor seating option which has beautifully been decorated with lights and plants. Perfect place to stick the family for a nice evening out.

Lovely little place. Good food @ really affordable prices. No vegan options but they have alot of veggie options. Unfortunately they only serve egg noodles and the veggie sushi has Mayo in it. Lots of options on their menu that you can veganise.

An enjoyable experience. The Honey Chicken was super. Takeaway portions are rather small however compared to Mr Panda.

Always the best Chinese food hands down, we travel 30 mins just to visit this branch because they never disappoint

I ordered sushi, spring rolls and wonton (wuntun)soup. The Chinese food of my meal was good but the sushi was mediocre. It’s very cheap, though, so it’s a lot of food for the price. The environment is not attractive but it was clean and the staff helpful.

Good Food at affordable prices. We prefer take away over dine in. Portions are massive and very tasty. Service was great

Lovely restaurant, with friendly service. The pricing of the food is always reasonable. One of their best meals is their chow mein. Our food did take a bit of time to arrive. All their food is always flavorful and in large portions. Would reccomend going there, especially if you enjoy Chinese cuisine.

Sushi was good. I got the Deep Fried Sushi Platter. It comes with everything so it was a nice option. 20-22 pieces, cant remember now but its definitely worth the priceat R209. Didnt have to wait for too long for the dood as well, but they are generally busy. So if you are doing a takeout, best to call in and order. Also had the beef chow mein and fawn, and the pork chow fawn. It was a bit dry for my liking and needs more chillies for a better bite. Good portion sizes though.

This is the month end budget place to eat. Or anytime of the month too!! Great food at great prices. Chicken and sweet corn soup very good. Loved the sticky chicken main meal. And for dessert a chocolate fortune cookie. I must include the very delicious kahlua don pedro or two... Hmmmmmm.

Really enjoyed the food, which is really a good price. Especially the sushi, which I will definitely go back for. An awesome atmosphere and great service.

A great place for family and friends to dine in. Opened till late and take away options. A good place to visit for some good sushi.

I have been supporting Kung- Fu Kitchen since it opened.... taking everybody I know + telling clients about the fabulous service + food .... the Inari was so small, with almost nothing on it... the cal rolls had rice on one side....the handroll was wilted.... order no.169 on 1/2/2020.... no photos.... but no more business from my friends + I either..... R208 wasted...

Use to be a firm favorite but their service has gone for a ball of no comment and the staff have a total don’t care attitude which I would not have expected

My absolute favorite place! Love the food and the scene. Honestly can't get enough of the sushi and my friends family and girlfriend agree totally..

Great value for money and one of the tastiest Chinese meals in this area. I like the while reatuarant but find it even more comfy to just give them a call and pick up your order.

You would expect some English spoken by some of the staff ......or at least understand your order. Specifically asked for a mixed platter and got one heap of salmon only. It was very good though . Place is plain and simple inside with a comfortable court yard to the rear. Just triple check your order as the staff dont understand much you ask them?

I've never sat down to eat at this restaurant but ordered a sushi takeaway. While I waited for my order there were a lot of flies which already put me off the sushi. To make things worse the knives that were being used looked old and dirty. Needless to say, I paid for my order but tossed the sushi as I was not going to eat sushi from a place that appeared to be unhygienic.

Based on several reviews most customers seem satisfied with the restaurant, my review is based on my unfortunate experience.

Sushi here is good, chinese dishes are delicious. Food is quick and waiters are friendly. Sweet and sour pork is one of our favorites and the chow faan/mein here is good

Delicious Chinese food! We prefer to order take out. The fried rice is our absolute fave - a winner everyone.
The food is always hot, always fresh and always delicious!!!

I buy here almost every week. Great value for money the chicken chow faan is just my favorite. And portion sizes are huge with such great flavor. Great value for money definitely recommend trying this place out. One of the Best Chinese places in Boksburg.

Good food at a good price! We had chicken chow faan and it was the best I ever had. They serve big servings big enough for 2. Delicious and well priced drinks.
Valery Mthunywa
The food was as all the other Kung-Fu kitchens we've been to, we ordered the chicken chow mein, beef chow mein and the calamari chow fan, nothing special.
It was all just...okay! I can't complain.
The service is really not that welcoming I must say.

Good Asian food compared to other places I've been. They take a time to make the food but its worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable for large portions of food, maybe one of the best in East Rand but there is better Asian cuisine elsewhere in JHB.

Great value for money and food well priced. 2nd time I've been here and had a great experience both times. Even have a nice area to sit down and have a nice meal. Keep this up and I will remain a returning customer.

What an awesome place. An absolutely amazing ambience with fantastic Chinese and the sushi is to die for. Always fresh and such friendly staff. Their deep fried prawn with cheese roll is devine... have been back here over and over and never had a bad experience.

This is probably the best take away option in the Eastern suburbs. Fresh wholesome food, great sushi and a tranquil outside area to enjoy if you don't take away. Ask them about their fried salmon and cream cheese sushi rolls. They are to die for.

I must honestly say I am not a big fan of Chinese food so this may cloud my judgement a little.

Service was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Venue was basic - nothing spectacular but clean and spacious.

Food was so-so. We shared a sushi starter - bland and nothing too exciting - we had to settle for prawn as they did not have tuna as advertised.
I had sweet and sour pork and my dinner companion had chicken chow faann.

Good portion size but not sure how fresh it all was and there was an aftertaste I cannot quite explain....

My bow tie was sticky and not too sweet. The highlight of the meal for me was probably the beer and my dinner companion's conversation!

R200 for both of us - not badly priced but I will probably not go back.

We were always very happy to go to this outlet for Chinese food, the food was normally okay and the prices reasonable. However, our last experience at this restaurant was enough to make us never return again. The food was not fresh at all. It turned out that they made the sweet and sour chicken balls beforehand, freezes it, and just warm it up in the microwave when you order it. We sent it back, paid and left. It is really a pity, because it always was a fabulous restaurant. The service is normally good, and the manager was very apologetic.

We ate at this restaurant before, but the last experience caused that we will never go back again. We ordered a sweet and sour pork, and duck with bamboo. None was very fresh, my wife could not even eat one pork cube. The manager (?) was very apologetic and wanted to replace the food, but we rather paid and left for McDonald's.

We had sweet and sour pork. Wasn't the best. Batter was very thick and not the same veg as what we use to. Sushi not bad. Beef chow main was bid dry.

When you really in a rush and you feel like something other than McDonald's or KFC kung-fu is the place to fill you tummy. They are quick and convenient and tastes good too.
Santhuri
This is one of my favourite takeaway places. Their chow mein and chop suey portions are large for the price. I generally order the chicken and there is enough meat. I also regularly order sushi from here and always find it to be well prepared and tasty. Definitely a value for money spot.

My family and i have been buying from this branch for many years and been through the changes of ownership. The food is still good and friday nights are always very busy. We always joke about buying the assorted chowmein which is chicken and beef and 1 prawn. Yes you read right 1 prawn. ..never more or less. Their sweet and sour pork is nice. Love using the sweet and sour sauce over my chowmein instead of the springrolls. Bought from here last week just sad i didnt take pictures :-( next time

8 May.. added pics yay (",)
