Review The Classic India - Boksburg

The food here is absolutely delicious, they have unbeatable flavours. The value for money is also quite good. The service was great and the food didn't take long. The restaurant has a lovely, classy/casual, atmosphere. They have a really big variety of options on the menu including vegetarian. I would highly recommend going here, especially if you love Indian food.

Best vegetarian sizzlers I have ever tasted in my life. Over a period of 6-7 years, we have tried many North Indian & South Indian dishes and food is absolutely divine. Friendly people providing service as well. Each time we go, we are surprised to see so few customers. This place would close down most of the Indian restaurants in Midrand if you guys move here.

The food was absolutely delicious. From starters to mains. They are a bit pricey but for the quality it's definitely worth it. The service was a little slow but the fresh food definitely made up for it. We had the classic hajaaari kebab and mixed pakora for starters. Then we had the chicken bhuna kalimirch (This curry was sooo yum!!!) and chicken kadai for mains, I ordered a aloo parata on the side which I ate with my curries.

Food is well prepared and a tastes great. Excellent variety on the menu to suit every taste. Great atmosphere, upmarket feel, but yet relaxed and friendly. Ample seating and friendly staff and management Recommended. Always allows take-out and delivery.

The waiter who served us was beyond amazing his level of respect and customer value. WOW I would refer anyone to go and enjoy good food and a lovely atmosphere 😊

Hi. I arrived from Cape Town, and went there with my youngest brother, arriving at 8.30 pm. The place was 50% full, and the atmosphere was excellent. We ordered our food after having starters, which arrived at the table, very promptly. The waiters were patient, friendly, knowledgeable and interacted absolutely delightfully. The service was brilliant, and the food exquisite. One needs to remember it is a "Tandoori" establishment. The waiters converse beautifully, and I will certainly visit soon, as I retire in 2 months, so I will time to visit them. I would recommend this establishment anytime as I was impressed, with their unobtrusive customer service. It was a glorious experience.

Really a great vibe for a Friday evening. Obviously taking into consideration covid protocols and curfew. They close at 9:00pm. Will definitely visit again. I enjoyed their vegetable option on the menu.

Delicious North Indian cuisine. Wide variety of vegetarian dishes. However, staff could be a little more friendlier.

Came here for dinner with my friends and the service was great. Food was really good, reasonable and big portions , also big shout out to Ravikanth for making sure we were taken care of. Will definitely come back here

The food was alright, nothing wow. Great service though. Tip: stay low on the hot stuff, avoid being a friend to the toilet.

The food was absolutely delicious. There was plenty of lamb and chicken dishes to choose from and everyone went back for seconds. Again, that salad was scrumptious. We love your parties! Excellent services thank you Ravikanth for the combination recommended which was gin with Indian tonic water and lamb curry dish. It was very delicious and the relaxing music with heart warming welcoming. I feel at home. Indian classic restaurant is the place to spend time with a partner, friends and family. We have eaten at Classic India a number of times over the years and always enjoyed it and considered it one of the better Indian restaurants on the East Rand. It has been a while since we last ate there though and with the rainy weather today thought it’d be a great night for curry and had it delivered. We ordered a Lamb Rogan Josh, lamb bunny chow, chilli bites, pahari kebab and aloo tikki. The good: Aloo tikki and chilli bites were very tasty and the best of the whole meal, no hassles with those two dishes. The bad: everything else. The lamb rogan josh and bunny chow seemed to have the same taste and appearance. Watery, insipid and tasteless if not a bit sour, the bunny chow was supposed to be medium hot and had no spice at all, not even a tingle. The lamb was very dry and tough. The pahari chicken kebab was also dry and tough (this is usually a favourite starter of ours when sitting down). I totally get that the food won’t be as fresh when delivered especially at the time we ordered (6:15) as it sits for a while etc, but curry for me can be cold and reheated and still taste great if it’s actually been cooked and spiced properly. It’s supposed to be rich, fragrant and tasty hot or cold. This really looked and tasted like it’d been pulled out the back of the old deep freeze (unlabelled as it certainly wasn’t a rogan josh), reheated and used for both our lamb dishes. Looking at the reviews it seems a few people have complained of similar experiences at the Boksburg branch. Classic India responds with promises that action has been taken etc and they hope for them and us to try them again in hope to get a better review on the next visit. After spending R340 on a meal for two and only really being able to eat and enjoy two starters I wont be giving them my money again regardless of intentions to discipline or warn staff as it’s obviously not working and I feel I’ve just wasted my money which is really burning me... more than I can say for the bunny chow. I’ll do the mission next time and make it myself, actually a packet sauce and diced chicken from the supermarket would have been leagues ahead of what we ate tonight. Totally disappointed!

The classic India in Bedfordview is a disgrace.I specifically asked for two dairy free meals , we are vegan and lactose intolerant. We requested for them to replace the meals and deliver it as it was their mistake, the manager said he would get a driver to deliver an hour later. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with any allergies or diet requirements, they don't care at all , and the customer service is pathetic. strange that my review on their fb page is not showing up.

The food and waiter gets a 5 stars, our waiter was friendly and the food was delicious... The front house can try and be friendly. I didn't see the gentlemen or lady smiling at customers as they enquired about the restaurant. And may I add none of then where Indian.

What an excellent restaurant! The food was just delicious, service was excellent and the place itself is charming and full of character. Staff is really friendly, and we really did not have to wait long for our meals. Definitely recommended.

Not great. First time was amazing. 2nd time terrible. Ordered HOT butter chicken and got a sweet, not even close to mild, dish. Not a classic India experience at all. Extremely dissapointed in the Classic India Boksburg restaurant.

2nd time dining at Classic India Boksburg and was impressed both times. Food was wonderful, asked for mild and got mild dishes. Waiter was friendly and love that they were ties.

We are from Durban, everytime we go to Pretoria we have to stop for lunch. The food is out of this world and service excellent. Been there how many times and never had a problem. Value for money. See you again shortly!
