The Food is good, I always visit the place for their nachos and cocktails.
Spacious dining area, tables are not forced into one another. Waiters are professional, friendly and attentive.
The Kingklip was fresh fresh fresh! Amazing for Gauteng! Fresh fish is what gives them 5 stars vs 4.
Winelist is good, had a bottle of Springfield Miss Lucy. They also know how to serve espresso, and 1920 Portuguese brandy. Next time I will try the sushi, it looked so amazing.
I have eaten here 4-5 times in the past year, never had a bad meal, always a good experience. Awesome smoking section, the best I have seen in in SA.

One of the BEST restaurants i have been too. Amazing friendly staff. A very big menu there’s bound to be something you like and the food is delicious, and well prepared. Great value for money and if you have kids they have a wonderful play area with staff watching the kids constantly. Awesome place I’d recommend everyone to try this place out.
Never disappointed when I visit Papachinos Boksburg. The food is always amazing no matter what you order, the service is great and waiters are very friendly. Their Rocky Road dessert is to die for! Definitely give it a try. Love this place.

Best food I've ever had, the portions are enormous. You're insane to not try this place out. I had the biggest plate of Alfredo, took me two days to finish, my family had the lamb cutlets, lamb shank and grilled chicken, boy were their meals delicious. The kids play area is like a small amusement park, my nephew had so much fun. I cannot wait to go back.
The service was great. Our waiter explained to us all we needed to know. We had a half and half pizza and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Great for dining out as a couple or out as a family as there's a kids play area and kids can make their own pizzas. Very friendly staff
Anniversary dinner was amazing! We don't have kids so we were lucky enough to sit upstairs. Great staff and delicious food. Our waiter was attentive and we really had a memorable evening.
This place is always packed, which is understandable as the decor is stunning and the play area looks awesome. I mainly go there for the insanely great cocktails, as they are teally not stingy on alcohol when they make them. Food is good, pricing is fair if you are not on a budget.

From the first time my family and I visited Papachinos in Boksburg, and every time since then we have been astounded by their ambience, friendly staff and awesome food.
Everything we have ordered, from wraps, to burgers to pizza and pasta have been great, and not stingy with portions either.
But... (and this really deserves a dramatic pause)... I will say with confidence that I have never had a better fillet anywhere else: I normally order the fillet medium-rare, with the rock-salt, mustard seed and cracked pepper option with wood oven roasted veggies. The stake melts in my mouth, and the flavour is heaven.
It is cooked perfect every time, and the flavour is just enough to compliment the steak, but not too much so I can still taste the fresh steak flavour.
I hear same from my wife and son also after their meals every time.

Good management, good hosting, good food and excellent service with a nice spacious atmosphere. The menu, on the other hand, is slightly pricey but has plenty to choose from. This is a great place to eat.

As today is a public holiday and all, Omphemetse Mafubelu and I decided to spoil ourselves to breakfast. We chose Papachinos Sunward park as a venue for this. When we arrived at the restaurant there was ample parking, and we were welcomed and ushered to our table.
I had the mango smoothie (divine)to drink and my wife had the cappuccino and they were generous with the cream.
To eat I ordered the Parisienne off the menu and it was amazingly delicious. My wife ordered the salmone which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Our waiter Alfred was a very good host, checked on us if we were happy with our drinks and meal.
We enjoyed our meals a will definitely return very soon.

Great ambiance. Love the cocktails. The meat us always cooked to perfection and an overall good menu. Great place for family and to hang out with friends. Great service in a beautiful restaurant.
The menu is fantastic and exciting.... Something for everyone. We ordered breakfast for a few hungry teenagers and no one left hungry or dissatisfied. Wonderful service and definitely value for money.
We are regular customers. The food is always good, service is great and overall a lovely atmosphere. A great place to take kids. Very large play area and They can make their own pizzas.
This makes place makes me look forward to having kids one day, the play area is amazing the food is even yummier😋 The comprehensive menu only means I'll be going back over and over again😂
I honestly only have good things to say about this particular Papachinos. Was actually my second visit. I played it safe and ordered the same meal as I had the first time .I mean if it's good , "order it twice 😂" just remixed it a bit there 😉. I love everything thing about it , everything 📡| You should definitely try out the meal I ordered, can use my pic as reference 😊

I have been there a few times and always enjoy my food. The prices are good and you always get a big portion. I would recommend their steak, pizza and believe it or not - sushi. Even when they are busy the food is still good.

What a great all round restaurant! I love the classical style and decor, modern with a touch of rusticness.
I wouldn't usually order Sushi from an "Italian" style restaurant, but was really craving Sushi, I was certainly not dissapointed, the portioning and flavors were perfect.
The lemon chicken and pasta dish was great too - Lemon basted grilled chicken fillets on top of a rich and creamy flavored pasta. I find however if you cook chicken on a gas grill, a lot of the gas flavor transfers over to the meat, I'm not saying it was terrible however, I just wouldn't order it again unless they pan fry it instead. Another major plus for me, they serve craft beer! This is fantastic as the craft beer industry is booming right now.
I love how this place caters for kids so well, its almost as if they interviewed a bunch of children and asked them what their favorite dishes are. Being a family orientated restaurant keeps this place quite busy at all times. I was initially concerned about the noise, which is what to be expected from a place with a massive kids area, but the restaurant was designed so well that the play area is placed mostly behind the building. reducing the majority of the noise. Some great planning right there!
There is one complaint I have, Managers at this restaurant are not needed.. They dont really serve a purpose. they don't even greet when arriving or leaving. The thin guy at reception desk literally just stood beside me when we were leaving and didn't say a word. Additionally he smelt so terrible because he just smoked a cigarette I almost gagged. Restaurants need be be more attentive to who manages their front line. This is after all the first person a new customer sees. For this reason I've given this restaurant a lower rating than I would have liked to
Food was really good , great environment and really excellent if you have children they literally disappear until food is served only down side is service is a little slow think they need a few more waiters .

We probably frequent Papachinos at least every 2 weeks and surprisingly i hadn't reviewed them yet, so here goes.
Decor, ambiance and overall atmosphere are outstanding, the vintage aviation/ cafe racer vibe throughout the massive establishment creates a really nice atmosphere, they have various sections which can accommodate anything from a romantic date to a party of 20 people, in either an intimate space, large dining areas inside or outside surrounded my the beautiful palm trees preserved from the old La Campana restaurant which used to take up residence on these grounds (
The welcoming faces of Robby and Martin are still here too, who must be complimented on their staff and the training they have been given, service is very seldom anything but outstanding). Being a smoker there are also ample sections which are separated from the main restaurant, both upstairs and down that are open and pleasant to be in.Kids are kept entertained with a massive outside play area, coin guzzling rides or an inside pizza/waffle making station and we are seldom pestered by bored kids.
Right, so onto the food, which is mostly cafe style grub with a twist, portion sizes are more than generous, Having been here for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner it is quite impressive how they do all three courses so well and with many unique choices. The standouts for me are the Burgers and Pizza's. although this would be considered common fare, they are that good that they deserve a mention. there are a few beers available on tap and an extensive cocktail menu makes this multi faceted restaurant ideal for Friday sundowners.
Overall a great place to go for a variety of occasions, or no occasion at all. It comes highly recommended!
Great family restaurant with decent sized portions! I loved the vintage aviation decor especially the plane hanging from the ceiling. The lamb flatbread wasn't too bad either ;-)

Today was a family birthday breakfast and everyone attending has children, so we came through to try this restaurant. It really is a child friendly restaurant and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. There was ample entertainment to keep the children active and stimulated.
On arrival I was impressed by the size of this purpose built restaurant complex. They have a large parking lot with their own security guards. The decor and appointment of the interior shows that a lot of creativity & effort and thought has gone into it. The double volume building is really spacious and the tables are well spread out.
The service we received was good and the staff were very polite and respectful. The waiter took our large tables order perfectly and the dishes came out exactly as ordered.
The breakfast menu had a number of options that are not your usual, same old same old, breakfast dishes.
My wife ordered an omelette with ham, cheese & tomato and I ordered their big Grande breakfast with eggs, Cambridge sausage, bacon, tomato, onions and mushrooms.
The omelette was huge and to much to finish. Unfortunately it was a bit too brown on top and was a little dry and over cooked. It had plenty of fillings.
The Grande breakfast looked good on the plate but the toast was ice cold, the eggs dry and over cooked and the halloumi as thin as a potato crisp. I was a bit disappointed and as it was my birthday even more so.
I felt the food did not reflect the huge amount of effort put into the look & feel of the restaurant.
The overall experience of the entire restaurant is very nice and impressive but my food didn't quite match the effort and ambiance of the holistic setting.
I will go back again, especially for my daughter, and for the great atmosphere but I hope my next menu option is more impressive.

This is not just a restaurant... this is a full family experience catering for everyone whether you are young or old!
The decor in the restaurant works well with the menu presented and there's definitely nothing "PLAIN JANE" about this place.
Every meal during the 5 or six visits over the last six months was brilliantly presented and tasted even better than it looked!
The staff is well trained and service is spot on. You always end up over tipping as it just feels like the right thing to do.
If you haven't been here... this is one of the restaurant Jewels of the east!

Ok flew in from Cape Town early Sunday morning and needed a bite to eat! My favourite Casa was closed so drove past Papachinos. Heads up make a booking it was packed, still I did not wait for more than 15 min and were promptly seated. The rest of the service were so so , not bad considering 500+ people seated for lunch!We had pita bread, some chicken dish, pasta and a seafood pan with calamari and prawns. None of the dishes were exceptional, not bad just ok.......I did feel that they are very expensive for a plain Jane family restaurant !!!
What a great restaurant! From the decor down to the food our evening was spot on. I opted for a pizza, a Quattro and it was so good, nice base and quality ingredients! The others at the table opted for pastas which were equally as good. Our waitress Promise was so attentive and had such a comedic personality which made the evening even more enjoyable!
With the best cheescake in South Africa what more needs to be said about this awesome place. Papachinos rates very high in the food dept and never seems to disappoint. With awesome decor and friendly staff this place is a regular dinner/lunch spot. Well worth a visit or ten.

What a excellent place , I have been there twice and I must say they do not disappoint! . The choices on the menu is excellent , both time I have been there a have tried something new and it was amazing.. Milkshakes is really good. Its a homely rustic feel to the place. will recommend to any one a must try .
After arriving without a reservation, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly manager to greet us at the door! A plan was made and a table quickly arranged for us! Tentative waiter by the name of Chammy! Food was a bit slow to come out, but understandable with being so busy! I would however like to compliment Papachinos on their baby changing facilities, it is by far the best I've seen in any restaurant. Will defiantly be back.
I wanted to go somewhere new to celebrate a special occasion and after reading all the reviews decided Papachinos was the choice ... I was not disappointed! This restaurant is amazing The food is delicious and well portioned Even though they were crazy busy our food was made promptly and to specification The drinks were a bit delayed but stands to reason as the bar was busy Kiddies play area is spacious and has something for every age group I will definitely be back and recommend this place to all looking for a relaxing meal and awesome service Thank you again :)
Papachinos offers just the solution for a restaurant for parents who are looking to enjoy their meals in peace while their children play lol. Just kidding, but on a more serious note, Papachinos is such a breath of fresh air. If you want a family friendly restaurant which offers a wide ranging menu to cater for all palates then this is the right place. I have been to the original branch in Fourways but this time I went to the Boksburg branch.
Must say we had an amazing time.

If I can give one suggestion it will be to get a few more waiters to assist as our water just could not keep up as he had quite a few tables to serve with 6+ people per table.

20.10.2015 I was absolutely impressed with this branch over the weekend. Firstly props to them for the amazing setup. The restaurant is huge. It's nice and open and more than enough space for all the kiddies parties and even adult celebrations being held here. They have a section for kids to make their own pizzas and waffles too and don't forget the kiddies play areas.
Management and staff were friendly and welcoming and our waitress Melody was a star. There menu is also huge so if someone can't find something to eat then there is something wrong with them. In the end we decided to order the 3 tenors (fillet medallions individually topped with a trio of sauce), the chicken parmesano ( chicken breasts with napoletana sauce mozzarella and baked in the oven) and the new signature pulled pork flatbreads.
Well all I can say is we had very full and ery satisfied tummies.
My pork was the juiciest and tender I have had in a while combined with the coleslaw and flatbread was definitely a winner.
My sister loved her fillet and she couldn't stop raving about it as she asked for blue cheese sauce and something else on it.
My mom enjoyed her chicken and veg too, but the mozzarella does get a bit stringy to cut after a while.
For drinks we had a cappuccino which was piping hot. The sundowner (OJ, vodka peach schnapps and grenadine) very refreshing and definitely a summer drink. I had the melktert shake. Sadly I was very disappointed on this one as it tasted like milk with some cookies crumbed into it. There was no melktert taste at all (so m&b yours still rocks) I ended up sending it back as it just spoilt my good food.
We were stuffed but decided to share a dessert and ordered the cheesecake.
Very nice and a huge portion so sharing was no issue. Actually all the food portions were great.
Definitely coming back and will need to try the waffles.

*Updated review 27.11.2016* I can't help but rate them higher this time around. I took the family and celebrated my birthday lunch. We sat there for a good few hours munching down on amazing food. Yes the service was a bit slow but you couldn't blame them as they were packed to capacity and our waiter Nico was amazing he handled our queries questions and jokes with a smile. Everyone walked out of there with takeaways. For the portion sizes the prices are fantastic we had so much food leftover to take home. We couldn't resist having dessert. Honestly hands down one of the best brownies I've ever had. I will happily keep going back if they continue with great food, great prices and great service. We all left happy and fed.

Perfect for a family since the restaurant caters with a big kiddies area. The food was good. Starter portions are massive. Overall it was a good experience.
We had a good time! The food was good, service was fair but quite slow. Salad was nice and fresh. Feta cheese was tasteless. I didn't like the marinade on the chicken pizza. The restaurant had a lovely, child friendly vibe.

The melktart milkshake is delicious. The waiter is diligent. I like the flag feature which shows how the meat is prepared. We had a big order for 6 people and in less than 35 minutes we were all served. The ambience is classical and laid back. There's a huge play station for the kids to have a blast. My birthday is bliss
First time we went here terrible. But I must say second time round much better had the rib pizza was truly good enjoyed it waitress friendly. Lady at door not so much but won't let it effect review

If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out! This place is always packed so make sure you call in for reservations. The closest thing to an 'endless' menu and excellent wine. Talk about being spoilt for choice.
The food is amazing and for a busy joint, the service is really good.
The architecture itself is beautiful, with a lovely play section for the kids... Even the smokers section look fancy lol. I just love the decor!

I'm so happy that a place like this finally opened in Boksburg! The type of setting where you can lunch with family and friends or coffee and blog alone. The rustic, urban style is wonderful and the food is great too! It's busy but the tables are spaced so it's not crowded which makes for a great atmosphere. The kids play area is nothing short of amazing. Will definitely be going back! *Just a heads up - they don't have wifi, although it says that they do.

Papachinos Excellent food but Shocking service. The atmosphere of the restaurant I really enjoy is has a wonderful play area for kids and a lovely outside sitting area the menu has a huge variety of foods. I had the Chicken Breasts with Tatiki and a side salad and it was great! The chicken breasts were grilled to perfection and the rest of the family enjoy there meals! Only downside was all the meals were brought at different times and it took 1hr and 15min for our food.
The play area is great as well as the child minders. The food is quite good too. Those are the only positives though. The service is slow. They also don't do split bills which is a pain when going in a large group. The managers are less than great. Our first time we decided to just go and see if we get a table. The manager working that night was quite rude. We turned around and went to Spur instead. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9:30 and we're told that most of the tables were booked but we still got a table. Walking past the booked tables, most of the sign were for bookings between 11:00 and 12:00, seems like a wast to not have those tables available for breakfast.
It's a beautiful place with a lot of potential is only it was manages better

We enjoyed our meal and service. Really enjoyed the Tia Maria pasta. It was my first time tasting sushi, and it was delicious, but my guest said it was too salty (I wouldn't know, as it was my first try). I've officially joined the sushi gang😆

My family and I really enjoyed our experience here at Papachinos on Sunday afternoon.
We really enjoyed the variety of the food. For starters we had the Rock Tempura Prawn sushi and it was really good.
My wife and I had 2 different burgers for our main course and what we really appreciated was the smoked flavor of the home made beef patties.
The service was very good from our waitresses Melody and Abigail and what really stood out to me was the fact that the restaurant has 2 kitchens. 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and this makes a massive impact on the service of the restaurant, it was efficient and of very high quality.
The restaurant also has a big play area for the kids and there are attendants that help supervise the children as well and that is excellent.
Highly recommend this restaurant to those who have families.

Great place for an Outing both afternoon and Evening. Set up was Great. Amazing food 1 issue was that we had sat for 15-20min before out Server attended us & until we called any waiter to assist us but besides that. I love how patient and Accommodating Melody our Waitress was.
