Best steak I've had in a long time, excellent wine selection and outstanding service. The place has a wonderful ambience and I would definitely recommend it for a wonderful night out.
We were at Margaritas last Saturday Night. Nico made it very a special night for us 4 friends. We had a lovely platter ( will be very hard to beat for other reataurants), very nice wine and very good service from our waiter. Thank you for an epic night and something we wont forget. ***** 5 star well deserved.

This is by far the best restaurant in Bloemfontein. The food is ALWAYS on point, and the the owners George and Nico always make every customer feel at home.
Had a 200gr Fillet steak, and wow was it the BEST steak I have ever had! It was done exactly how I asked, medium - well and it melted in my mouth with every bite! Very good value to money! Included chips with real potatoes :) and spinach any Butternut! Had the best Peppermint Crisp Tart as well! Will definitely visit again!

We ordered rump steak, sirloin, haloumi salmon steak and the best of all a 300g fillet with barbecue basting accompanied by a garlic chili sauce. Done to perfection, tender and succulent.
Highly recommended if you want a great steak.
The wine selection is really good. We had Southern Right Sauvignon blanc and Kevin Arnold Shiraz 2012.
The only disappointing thing thing was the service. While quite eager and friendly, the disappearance into what I've now termed the " waiter Bermuda Triangle " is puzzling and frustrating.

When in bloem do as the Bloemfonteiners do...which is apparently go to Margaritas for dinner. I would describe it as a steakhouse but they have a broad menu. The food is very good with lots of interesting steak options. Everyone seemed to know everyone and the management and staff were all extremely friendly.
Margaritas is a homely resturant in Bloemfontein. Well known for its steaks and seafood, this gem is a great spot. An extensive wine list and the food is extremely fresh and very tasty. Try the Queen prawns, they are probably the best I've had in south Africa. If your visiting Bloem, try it out - you won't be dissapointed. Just make sure that you book, cause I'm not the only one who loves the food.
Good spot. Was recommended by the Guesthouse I stayed at. Cool atmosphere, pleasant music, excellent waiters. Beef carpaccio served with shrimps - interesting - 4,5 out of 5. Snails with garlic - 3 out of 5 (too oily) - Roquefort salads 5 out of 5. I would cone back here to try the rest of the menu.
Stumbled on this absolute gem on an overnight stay in Bloem. Food was exceptional and the wine list was extensive and up to date. Care has been taken to curate beautiful meals and beautiful wines in a cosy environment. Liam attended to us and was helpful, friendly and very pleasant. Overall a wonderful experience and so positive to see the restaurant full on a random Wednesday evening. Thank you!
We did a wine-and-food pairing. At R350pp, this was exceptional value for money. The wine was out of the ordinary (ave R400 per bottle) and matched perfectly with the 4 different courses it was presented with. Our waiter Keanu was attentive and clearly takes pride in his work. Overall a fantastic experience.
Superb meal, very good service and a welcoming host. The menu certainly has many option to suit different palates. The vast sauce menu was a wonderful surprise.Will definitely return. Teeny request: cloth napkins instead of paper serviettes to complement the way above average dining experience. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

On the pricy side, but good food, good service. It's a bit noisy for normal conversations. For such an upmarket, reputable restaurant acoustics should be improved.
Absolutely loved our experience at Margaritas. The service was great and the food was out of this world. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic. It is the perfect place to have a date night or to celebrate a special occasion with your loved ones. Margaritas is definitely worth the visit. A well deserved 5 star rating.

My colleagues and I visited for dinner last night. Possibly the best meal I have ever had (and I am well travelled!) Attentive service and superb wine too. Will definitely be back on my next vist to Bloemfontein.
It was my first time at the restaurant and I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and quick to bring your order. The food is a step above the rest, with a wide variety of meals, desserts and an extensive wine list. I highly recommend this establishment.

Probably the best meal I've ever eaten! I had the Mediterranean Rump Steak and would choose it over again, only if it wasn't for the rest of Margaritas enticing menu! Their food was awesome, their service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was electric. Wish I could've brought back to Cape Town with me
We absolutely loved our experience at Margaritas. It was my first time at the restaurant and I was not disappointed.
George really treated us with great generosity. We had the 800grm "un-aged", T-bone steak to share, with a glass of the house selected wine.
The steak was prepared to perfection albeit a bit tuff. The suggested red wine was very good and complimented the meal perfectly.
The vegetables were simply rusticly cut and cooked and could have done with a good roasting.
On the downside, George the food presentation was really not up to par, you need some refining. To go from good to amazing.
Our waitress Roelien she was knowledgable and courteous and professional. Overall our meal was very good and we enjoyed it. Thank you for a great meal.

It did not disappoint. Food was great and though Steaks seems to be the firm favorite from those around us, I decided to go with the Kingklip Cleopatra. It was a fantastic surprise. Did not expect to get fish that good in Bloem.
As for the others at our table, all good and no complaints. Dominique, our waitress, was friendly and attentive.
I will certainly recommend Margaritas to anyone looking for good wholesome food.
Some observations:
The sauce list is WOW - going to come back and try some of those.
The wine list is extensive, though it's a bit pricey.
The food prices are reasonable considering the good portions and taste.
