What a gem. A beautiful bistro that offers such a variety of meals. I ordered pancakes today....expected to get two small pieces....wow......I got a surprise. I had to put my hand next to it so you could see how big they were. I wish I could capture the sound in the bistro. It was so happy and I wished that I could bottle that sound. Different languages, different races all mixed together to make a beautiful experience. I have been to alot of restaurants and it's normally always loud etc ...this Bistro made me feel like family was all around me, the laughing, the sound of happiness in everyone's tone was just so different. Staff is amazing, food quality was amazing.....and the owners....well.... they are amazing too. They have clearly looked after their staff and appreciated their staff as they all looked happy. I will be back for sure .

We had a great experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely and welcoming. The staff are good, could work on friendliness a bit. The pricing for the food is good and the portions are good depending on what you order. The food was absolutely lovely and the variety on the menu is quite large. Would recommend eating here

Two ordinary light meals ordered from the menu turned out to be a big surprise! The quality, taste and presentation exceeded our expectation. Mpho, our waiter was friendly. The meals were prepared to perfection, presented professionally and served promptly. Our casual meal turned out to be an extraordinary experience. We will be back.

Food was delicious and the new draft beer is immaculate. Beautiful and quiet vibes. You actually hear each other speak which was the top experience.

A well oiled machine. Went for breakfast after our parkrun. Very welcoming and has attractive modern decor. It wasn’t long before patrons poured in. Locals clearly know this is the spot. Management are hands on, and keep the show on the road. Our food was well presented, and tasty, also good value for money. Wife simply loved her Low Carb (under Gourmet Breakfast) with an extra egg. I had the Mega. It was slightly cold, having stood in the kitchen. I guessed, as our waitress was absorbed in meeting the demands of other tables, so much so that management delivered our meal. Other than that, this place rocks, and is clearly the place to go in the ‘East’. I wouldn’t hesitate to give them another visit.

Fantastic experience the Bistro tonight. The ambiance was great, the place was spotless, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was David and what I can say is that he was so professional and such an asset to this establishment. Well done on creating such a lovely place to come and dine at. Will definitely be back.

We celebrated my son's 21st with some of his friends and fortunately it happened on a theme evening, they all had such a good time dancing and enjoyed the food. Sandy decorated our table so beautifully and the service was excellent, I will recommend them anytime. Thank u Sandy and the bistro staff for a great evening :-)

I find that the moment you walk into a restaurant and you’re greeted with such welcoming you know everything is going to be fantastic. Homely environment, stunning decor, awesome staff, efficient and on the ball, and smiles for days. Our story: Our family had a 71st Birthday breakfast today TheBistro Rynfield for our Dad / Oupa. Absolutely blown away by the impeccable service received from Fatima and Tadiwa, and your Assistant Managers are to be seen and checkup regularly. Miguel you have an absolute gem of a place. The food was divine. Thank you so much for the extra special treatment you gave to my dad. We walked out happy and fulfilled, and will without a doubt be back as much as we can!

Beautiful place, but nothing for me to eat! So surprised and disappointed to discover there are only 2 hot dishes on the menu for vegetarians. And they both have the same ingredients! A nice romantic lunch gets ruined because we're haggling over swithching out chicken for houloumi. I felt completely ripped off being forced to pay an extra R30 to swop those ingredients. And then being short changed with a few little cubes of houloumi. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Get with it guys, your menu, management and chef should be better! Never again!!!

I won a R500 voucher to The Bistro through The Saint Newspaper, and my parents and I went there tonight. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and I think the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Furthermore, Sandy was an attentive host and I felt that she treated us like actual people who have interests and stories to share, rather than just customers who are only there for the food. It genuinely sounded like she was interested in getting to know us. Really recommend The Bistro to everybody and I know that we will definitely be returning.

Really just wow. We’ve had a few small visits at The Bistro, but last night blew us away. Hosted my fiancé’s birthday with a large group of friends. From the moment we walked in we felt right at home. Sandy did amazing decor, made my fiancé smile like a little girl. Clive was the perfect host, making sure our glasses stay full and the waitress had an eye on us the whole time. The food, oh the food! We have been blessed to enjoy meals from the top chefs in the country and this ranks right up there with them. To end of the evening, the team at the shop even went as far as getting my fiancé a present of their own! Sandy, Clive, thank you.

This place makes the best tasting coffee! It is served in beautiful see-through cups which makes it even more delicious! The waitresses are polite and attentive! Excellent experience! Definitely coming back!

We had a lovely evening. Our waitress Tandiwa was awesome. The atmosphere out of this world and the vibe better than the best. Had a wonderful experience.

Lovely restaurant, but after booking a table and barely being seated, was asked if we could finish our meal within an hour and 15min as the table was double booked... no sight of the manager...

Wonderful service from Fathima. ���� My pancakes were very yum. Hubby was not overwhelmed by the battered hake though. But, we will certainly be back.

What an amazing establishment. From friendly owners and staff, beautiful decor and styling, amazing food. This is the full package and if you haven't checked it out I highly recommend it! Thanks for an amazing time and we look forward to the next visit.

Manager found space for us and the prams on a very busy Friday night even without a booking. Steak special was very good as well. Will be back

I have been to The Bistro on at least five occasions for dinner. I have enjoyed the meals; the friendly, helpful staff; the decor, ambience and the entertainment. It has a uniquely informal atmosphere yet remains a classy, dining experience. Congratulations on a winning combination!

Awesome service and great food! Being Vegan and Gluten intolerant, it’s never fun going out most of the time it’s a chore to order food but Clive the amazing manager was only but, willing to help sort out and amazing delicious meal for me with a smile. Not to mention he made my brothers birthday dinner one to remember. I will definitely be back !

What a good place for toasted cheese. Soooo yummy. Great staff. Good survive.<br/>The menue has interesting combinations.... That taste great. The food looks inviting and beautiful. Kids food came first and all other members oplf the party recieved food at the same time. I'm very pleased.

Absolutely great burgers, and chocolate milkshakes. Good interactions with waiting staff and managerial staff alike. Good clean restaurant, with a modern feel.

I haven't been out for a breakfast in a long time and I thought I would pop in for something different as I am not usually in the area and thought I would try somewhere different.<br/><br/>I had a very simple vegetarian breakfast which was severed with such speed that if I blinked I may have missed the waiter bring it to my table. Very impressed with the service here and quality of food. <br/><br/>The meal portion was just the right size and the price was very good. I will definitely be back to this place for a breakfast again.

Ordered a pasta which was cold and very boring. No extra effort goes into their meals and very overpriced. Was expecting way more. The other two people that went with me was equally as disappointed.

This is my favourite place to have a coffee and a catch up with some friends. The waiters are so polite, the service is fast, the place is beautiful and the beverages are so tasty. This place is a hidden gem!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. A delicious and well presented breakfast with efficient service is what you can expect when coming to this Bistro. This was our first visit for a Sunday breakfast and ordered a smoked salmon and cottage cheese bagel and the eggs Benedict bagel. Both meals were superb. Hopefully many other similar establishments in the Benoni area will take note of the high standard that this Bistro offers.

2018/05/07 - 2nd visit here in 2 days. Dinner- ordered Palermo linguini and Rump creamy chicken livers. Both were excellent choices. Loads of tender chicken, avo and feta with a delicious sauce on the linguini. Rump tender and cooked to perfection. Service was once again excellent. Will definitely be back!<br/><br/>2018/05/05 - This place should be top of your list of restaurants to go to! Excellent service, excellent food, beautiful decor, stunning plates and cups. Great atmosphere. Very upmarket, but casual and relaxing. Fastest service I’ve ever had. Staff very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be a regular here.

Our daughter and her husband paid us a surprise visit one Sunday. Later in the day we suggested trying the new Bistro for a meal. We arrived and were shown to an outside table and placed our order. Food took a quite a while to be served.Our daughter found that her food was not properly cooked so we asked them to just cook the meat properly, even if it was just in the microwave. We finished our meals and my daughter was still waitng for hers we enquired about this and at that late stage we were told that we arrived late as they close at 15h00 on a Sunday. The owner / manager told us that they would not just rewarm or recook part of a dish and the delay was because the cookers had been switched off and had to reheat before they could do anything for us.The manager / owner was not particularly helpfull or friendly. He avoided our comments when we pointed out that we should have been told that the restaurant closed early on Sundays. We found no signs to this effect where we went into the place. we should not have been invited to sit and order under those circumstances.I have been so upset about this that i can't recall what i ate or what the quality was like. I was tremendously embarrased by every thing as we had invited our guests to the place. I refuse to go back there and have turned down subsequent invitations or suggestions to go back there.

The decor is stunning. Our waitress (sadly I do t remember her name) was entertaining and joined in with the family banter nicely. I had the beef prego that was really good. The sauce was the perfect balance on flavour and heat. Hubby had the rump with chicken livers and polished it off. My daughter had the crumbed chicken burger with hash brown. Overall the food was amazing and we will definitely be back. <br/>The biscotti served with the hot drinks are to die for.

Went to @ the Bistro for breakfast... The service was great, the atmosphere was very nice... The food was very good... I had the Mega breakfast, everything was delicious except for the holumi which was a bit dry...

It's my first time visit, it's really a lovely place and they got lots of delicious vegetarian dishes !! Most of all I love their service, it's the top of top. They are really thoughtful in little places where they know all pasta dishes need spoon to serve along. Not all the restaurant remember to gave spoons. Please If you come visit please try their desserts it's also a must try!!

We have four birthdays in one month at our company in benoni and decided to go to @ the bistro for lunch. Because we were a large group we phoned in our order ahead of time. <br/>The meals were quick to arrive once we arrived and they were all delicious. <br/>The staff were friendly and professional, even though we had a bit of a mix up with the bill (which is bound to happen with such a large group all paying separately) they managers handled it professionally and all was sorted. <br/>I would recommend @ the bistro to anyone looking for a quick coffee or a sit down meal.<br/>It was lovely and I will definitely go there again

I was really excited to see a cafe/bistro with such a contemporary style open so close to home. <br/><br/>We decided to stop by for an early morning meeting/breakfast. We parked in the off-street parking behind the shop and were ushered to a table overlooking the parking - We discovered that there are also booths and more tables in the front on our way out. There were only about 3 other tables occupied with all of them seated in the same area, with the rest of the restaurant being empty.<br/><br/>We ordered coffee followed by breakfast. The food presentation (for breakfasts) is boring at best and my plate looked pretty empty, that being said it was tasty except the chewy halloumi. The staff are friendly and the service wasn't bad even though we did wait a bit for our order.<br/><br/>I'll more than likely go back to see if having a lunch/dinner is any better.

First and last time, food was acceptable but clearly more a lunch or breakfast venue, did not believe it was licensed so took own bottle and received a R70.00 corkage fee on my bill, I did mention the fact that I didn't know they were licensed to our waitress but she didn't elaborate and when I queried the charge the message which came back from the Manager (didn't see the need to come and talk to me directly) was "that's the fee, it is what it is", terrible customer service and my plan to return for breakfast cancelled which is a shame as we don't have enough choices of good venues in Rynfield.  Likewise for my two guests who also were unimpressed.  Nice coffee cups though.....

Ok so then I was here two Saturdays ago . The first thing that made me to even visit this place is the gorgeous interior design , yes I'm a interior fanatic . I must say I was blown away when I arrived . The menu is broad and affordable. Ordered the steak with liver dressing OMG mouth watering . Everything on par . I'm going back so should you 😜

Very disappointing breakfast. Heavy omelette served with watery tomato sauce which the owner tried to pass off as a hollandaise sauce. Had to order another breakfast. Too awful to eat.

Pastas are good, portion and flavour was excellent , steak was not as good ok but nothing special , must have has to be the sweet Railway Coffee a fairly rare treat in the Benoni area.

Myself and my girlfriend decided to eat out this evening and both ordered schwamas hers being a beef and mine the bacon and halloumi, was very disgusted in the smell of the beef schwama took one bite out of the meat and almost got sick. Asked the waiter addressed to use to sort out the food,<br/>He then took the plate and called a manager.<br/>When the manager finally got back to us he said the food was not off and that he would eat it in front of us to prove so. That food was not fit for my dog , very disappointed with service, I honestly believe that we should have been offered a new meal after all it only had one bite out of it. Will not be eating there again and strongly suggest who ever reads this does likewise

I've eaten here twice. Once for a quick light dinner, and once for a quick breakfast. Overall, not bad. The service is quick, the food is good given its price. I think the basic brekkie was R30, that's always a winner in my book! It's always relatively full so ambience is always warm and cheery! I'll be back for sure!

14.01.2017 There is nothing better than an overdue catchup with friends. I've always been a fan of their boksburg branch and was excited to learn they have expanded to Benoni.<br/><br/>This new branch is stunning I love the decor and colour scheme and it's fresh look. John was the familiar face who was convincing us with regards to our cakes and for the life of me I can't remember our lovely waitress' name. She was friendly and didn't rush us and let us enjoy our meals.<br/><br/>We started with coffees and then ordered our food. I had the chicken prego and my friend the pastrami sandwich. Beautifully presented with fresh salad and a delicious fresh cut chips. I must say I was disappointed with my sandwich as there was hardly any chicken on it. Only 1 small piece per half. ( check my pic you can't even see chicken in the roll) and it was not as good as the Boksburg ones. But my chips and salad were yummy though with the jalapeño sauce on the table. My friend enjoyed her sari as you can see there was sufficient meat on it.<br/><br/>Between that we ordered a Cosmopolitan and " Sex on the beach" - both delicious cocktails.<br/><br/>After chatting some more we were convinced for dessert. They have a great selection of cakes and muffins. I had the Vanilla and Amarula cake - soft fluffy and oh so tasty with a dollop of fresh cream. My friend had the Chocolate Mousse cake with Peppermint sprinkles. DAMN rich but if you a chocolate lover then this is what you MUST order.<br/><br/>By now we were so full but managed to squeeze in 2 more cocktails. We had to try the " Blue Lemonade" I have no idea what's in it but we caused quite a stir as they came towards us with its bright colours and at the end you have a lovely blue tongue to feel like a kid again.<br/><br/>Would definitely recommend coming here and given them a try. And please add more chicken to the prego :-(

03/01/17 - we've eaten at the Boksburg restaurant and we were pleased to hear they were opening a branch in Rynfield. It's really close to our home and we really need more choices and options in the immediate area. <br/><br/>This new restaurant is located in a newly refurbished local corner shopping centre. There is secure centre parking and the one side of this restaurant looks out onto it. <br/><br/>On arriving we were greeted by pleasantish staff but immediately felt the stiffness and quietness of the restaurant. We were seated at a table looking out onto the parking area. There were only two or three other tables seated also having breakfast. The shop is very neat and tidy and of course shiny and fresh and new. We were one table away from the shop front and the people next to us stood up from their table and stepped one foot away from their table onto the pavement and started smoking. Of course the smoke drifted in the 2m to our table and left my wife, toddler and I gasping. Not cool. <br/><br/>We ordered a kiddies milkshake for my daughter in a plastic cup but decided to wait till after breakfast for our drinks. I ordered a Eggs Benedict on a Bagel (as I do in Boksburg) and my wife a veggie breakfast and my daughter viennas and chips. <br/>My breakfast looked nice on arrival and tasted ok. It didn't blow me away though and was just ok. There wasn't anything wrong but just didn't have a taste flair to remember it by.<br/>My wife however didn't enjoy her breakfast. The halloumi cheese was dry and rubbery and she again felt the breakfast was nothing remarkable. It was just ok.<br/>My daughters meal looked very bleh. A plate with two boiled viennas and a few chips. The plate looked bare and uninspiring. Not even a flash of green or something to make it look like an effort had been made, as to be expected when eating out. <br/>We ended with a cappuccino and an espresso and they were fine. <br/>Overall we had a quiet and unassuming breakfast. We were both disappointed and felt very unexcited, uninspired and unappreciated by our visit. Not convinced we will rush back especially considering there are some other really amazing options not too far away and if one spends ones hard earned money, one expects something inviting and that stands out. <br/><br/><br/><br/>
