Review Piatto - Benoni

Good food, lovely scenery, a wonderful waiter Felistus who helped us choose from menu which was exactly 💯 to the drinks which were very nice. I would recommend anyone to go and eat there. The staff were friendly as well. I was taken out for my birthday cute chocolate cake that tasted so nice.

Friendly staff, always helpful. Good value for money with meals. Delicious meals!

We had an enjoyable experience. Nice ambiance. Music nice, not too loud. Waiters and waitresses were friendly and jovial. The food was great. The tartar sauce is terrible, tastes like a Fine Foods 5 litre product. When you serve seafood as nice as Piattos, and on this level, don't spoil it with substandard tartar sauce. At least I could enjoy my meal and choose not to eat the tartar sauce, which I did.

Good food overall eventhough my steak was a little overdone the last time... they have great burgers and pasta as well. The flat breads with toppings are delicious. Warm, welcoming environment and good atmosphere makes for a good family outing or a date night as a couple. Service from the waiters are good, but not great - could work on the friendliness and communication. But a great night out either way

Great place, good reasonably priced food and worth every cent... They can do better with their cocktails as each drink is different whilst same order

Worst experience of my life! Myself and family went for lunch... as the restaurant was empty we expected fairly quick service. Drinks took over 45 mins to arrive. Secondly, the food was poorly prepared, the steak was, in my opinion (trained in a professional kitchen and restaurant for 6 years) off, they tried to disguise it by their basting... worst restaurant in Benoni! Happy to see you leave.

It has been a good few years since my visit to Piatto Farrarmere and I must say... it has changed... the service and the food is nothing to rave about.<br/><br/>The food was "OK" and the service from the waitress "POOR"<br/><br/>The waitress was in a hurry as she was going for lunch and rushed around while having her own private conversation with one of the other waitresses while taking our orders.<br/><br/>The food is not great at all and has certainly dropped a few standards.<br/><br/>2018/2019:<br/>I've been here 3 times over the course of 12 months and I am impressed, the place has changed and for the better.<br/>Piatto had a serious upgrade by means of the decor and the food which is now a lot more satisfying. The staff more attentive and friendly.<br/><br/>The only tiny complaint on my side... is that the cocktails need a bit of work... other than that... Piatto, Benoni gets a thumbs up.

Arrived on a “Pizza Night” where we were not aware that a pizza special was happening. After waiting 50 minutes for food, I went to speak to the manager, only to be told that because it’s “Pizza Night” I should expect to wait 45 minutes plus for food. We ended up waiting over an hour and watched people who arrived after us, eat and pay before we received our food. Will not be back.

Poor service. No water that was never mentioned when we arrived so the toilets weren't available and you couldn't even order an Irish coffee. Menu items not in stock...lasagne...really? Thought it was supposed to be fresh.

We went as a a family for your lovely breakfast special and I can say I was very happy with what I recieved. The food was tasty and the service was good. This was one of my favorite places but it did hit a bit of a slump, I'm happy to see it returning to its former glory.<br/><br/>P.s. Bring back the dessert trio and I will up your rating to 5 stars ;)

If I could give a lower rating I would. We went there for breakfast my mom actually said that her food was disgusting. Her toasted sandwich was just squashed bread, the bacon was still leathery and cold, not cooked properly at all... I'm still amazed that you can mess up a toasted sandwich like that...

We ended up here for my birthday on the 1st, as my stepdad was sick and it was close to home. Our waiter whose name I can't recall sadly, was fantastic! The cocktails we were served were great cocktails and the food was delicious. I was quite impressed!

Decided to go for breakfast with the family and ended up waiting 45 min for bacon and eggs, poor service not great food but at least the kids area is great :)

Great lunch. Our table was for 30 people and they managed this flawlessly. Food was great and Jose' hospitality will bring us back here again

The food was ok, and the service was fine.<br/><br/>My fiance and I had the fried squid heads and the halloumi as a starter which were divine. My fiance really enjoyed his Sweet Chilli Chicken Calzone, I on the other hand had a pricey very tasteless Chicken Schnitzel with tasteless cheese sauce it was very disappointing because I love Chicken Schnitzel. Apart from that everything was ok.

The food was good. The new menu also had quite a few good dishes. The butternut and feta salad is amazing! But the service here is atrocious. Management should be embarrassed. By the end we were practically begging the waitress to bring us the bill quickly. She would just disappear for half an hour at a time. By far the longest meal I've ever had at a Piatto and for no good reason. Also, arrived at the table to find dirty cutlery and dirty plates. Gross.

Nice atmosphere and the food is good but we were told that some of the advertised items were not available as it was a public holiday when it was actually Father's Day. Not once were we asked by our waiter if we were ok. To top it off the family next to us has menu photocopies , I'm sure for an upmarket restaurant they can make a better effort...

Very bad sevice. You you send the bulk of you time trying to get your waitor's attention. The food is good but does not justify the frustation of the bad service.

Had an issue with how the waiter just decided to open up my friend's cold rink while she was having her coffee. When we told him that we didn't want the cold rink to be opened as we were still having hot drinks, he was the rudest individual on earth. That spoilt out experience from the onset. I don't know where some waiters get the nerve... the poorest service yet.

Good service. The meal I had was very tasty, a prawn and avo salad! Very fresh and plated up well. Overall a good restaurant that I would definitely recommend.

We went to piatto farrarmere last night.<br/><br/>I must be honest...i was quite dissapointed. We waited ages for menus. When we ordered my daughters order was wrong and had to be returned to the kitchen. For some reason, the waitron removed the condiments from our table upon delivering the meal.<br/><br/>Pre dinner bread was served without butter knives and we were not able to butter our rolls.<br/><br/>My mexican pizza was so oily and soggy i could not even eat it. My wife ordered the calimari salad and she too left most of it.<br/><br/>Dont think we will be going back there.<br/><br/>

The atmosphere is really nice, but the quality of the food is wishy-washy at best. Was really disappointed at the mains and desserts after a great starter. We will not be going to Piatto Benoni again.

Have eaten here quite a few times before and was very surprised at the new decor of the entrance when we went back a while ago. Ordered take-out on Friday and the restaurant was packed. Had the crumbed chicken schnitzel with cranberry and camembert, and it's always a winner for me. The sides with this are nice generous servings.

This use to be my favourite branch after the stoneridge one. All the food items in here use to be really good but the service and food have slowly gone down. Its a lovely venue and situated nicely on the side of the centre. <br/><br/>Want to go back and give them another try and see if their is any change

the service was great but the food not so much. sushi was all wrong and chewy. the poppers had a unidentifiable cheese that was horrible. the kids calamari wasn't bad.

It was one Saturday about a month or two ago when we stumbled across this beautiful gem of a place (as it's in the same centre as a woolies) and we just had to have a little bite....<br/>We just had a pasta dish each (one prawn and one steak) with a bottle of Tall Horse Merlot and it was so lovely and fresh and scrumptious, we didn't finish everything and asked for a take-away but forgot to take it when we left *facepalm* But just as an indication of how good it was .... hubby beat himself up about our little faux pas for a week!!!

At first I was excited, the Place was clean and well set out, the manager greeted us with a friendly welcome. That's where it ended. The service was shocking, our waiter changed 3 times before we were even asked for our drinks order. Breakfast didn't take long to arrive, but when it did it wasn't very good. I was very excited to try this Piatto because of the good reviews. I'm very dissatisfied with the service received. I won't be back in a hurry.

Worst service ever - restaurant runs out of cups after waiting 35 minutes for coffee and then you get told pls use take away cups. The manager didn't even try to help or make a plan. Piatto Farramere will ever see me again @worstservice

Stunning!

I told my hubby that we HAVE to visit Piatto before we leave Benoni. Well, my wish came true! And boy, am I glad we went! Friendly, professional staff and a great ambience. Kgabo had a Sirloin Bistek and I had a Sirloin Pepperdew (no bacon). We both raved about our meals! The waitress was kind enough to entertain our baby while we ate. The sushi was well presented but I've tasted better. The cocktails were a bit of a let down. But overall, we had a good time.
