Review Cafe Bagaso - Bellville

HAYLEY HOLESGROVE
Staff are friendly and professional. Loved sitting inside the Cafe. One could be anywhere in the world! Food was well presented and tasty. Really good value for money. They don't skimp on portions. The cake we tried was a bit dry, but then it is Sunday afternoon! Will definitely be back. Rumbi you are awesome!

Had a Sunday lunch here and the portion sizes are big enough to share with a child, so ideal for parents to bring children. Food is well prepared and very tasty.

Breakfast roll was nice but Burger braaibroodjie was a bit small for my husband. Excellent service from Thandi.

I have been there at two occasions and both times I came out with a happily full stomach and a pleasantly sated mind.

I took a friend in a wheelchair for brunch to this restaurant. From approaching the waiters were very polite, professional and friendly. They quickly removed a chair at a great spot where my friend could feel comfortable. Our waitres was great and swift. The cappuccino was hot and beautiful. The food was 5 star quality. There is not one thing i can report as negative. Even the walls are beautiful. Please go and experience a world class restaurant and food. It is worrh it. Thank you for this beautiful restaurant. I will definitely take guests to this restaurant.

Had a lovely lunch with my mom here the other day. I love the vibe and they provide fast yet quality service. The food was absolutely great. We often pop in at Cafe Bagaso due to the fact that we always have an enjoyable experience.

Located close to Mr Price Home in Tygervalley Shopping Centre. They have seating inside, which is nicely decorated and cozy, as well as extra seating next to the escalator. I have visited a few times over the past few years and I continue to recommend this café to others. It is the perfect spot for a shopping break. The menu prices are reasonable and portion sizes are worth it regardless of which meal you order. Their cakes and milkshakes are delicious too!

I've been coming to Bagaso for a long time, the food is consistently great and value for money. One thing that will probably be the reason I won't come regularly anymore is the ridiculous price of R38 for an Americano.

Absolutely love going here. Staff are always friendly and service is great. Prices are extremely reasonable and food has always been delicious. Would recommend it to anyone and will keep going back. Keep up the amazing service!

I've just had the best salmon salad ever at Cafe Bagaso at Tygervalley. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly. What a great experience.

After dining at Cafe Bagaso for both breakfast and lunch, we have not been disappointed to date. The various dishes are flavourful and well presented. We have also ordered platters previously and the guests absolutely raved about the items.

Love their food, coffee and the huge baked voods and cakes selection. Service is done with a smile and they are attentative almoat always. Nice specials and great vibe.

Honestly amazing food and will always be my first go to, but staff very reluctant to assist with takeaway orders and tend to ignore you completely and just stare at you until you decide to leave.

With a 1st visit, we are so happy to say, we loved your tramazini's, your friendly and speedy service and above all the quality and portions of the food we ordered. Be sure to see us soon. Thank you so much.

Really enjoyed my eggs Benedict! It was tasty and filling, waitress was great, only thing I would change is the quality of their coffee, I ordered a cappuccino and it was quite cold so don't think it was worth R28. But overall a good experience!

What a lovely place. The owner is so friendly. I only had coffee and a tart while there, but my family enjoyed some other options such as pizza. It was quite affordable and I would definitely recommend the banana and caramel tart. Divine!

Nice restaurant to go for breakfast. The menu shows a lot of breakfast option and it's very affordable. Had the quick start breakfast that cost only R38. For that, I got a slice of rye toast, jam, butter, 2 bacon strips, a slice of tomato and scrabble egg. Not bad for R38... Will definitely go back there for the cheap breakfast 😃

I would say this place is average.
They have good breakfast options for a good price.

I would recommend the croissant and if you're only going for a snack rather share if you're two people ordering.

Avoid this place at all costs. Food arrived, sloppy joe had a massive chunk mould on the bun..... Yay for penicillin, ice cold mince too. When we informed the waiter they simply asked if they could bring something else. The manager didn't even come by to apologise. Oh and then there is the sad attempt at making a cappuccino, not good coffee at all, all for a whopping R37 a cup! Not going back here again.

A bit more expensive for the average breakfast, but a good spot when in Tygervalley. Great hand cut fries and they even have a wood fired pizza oven. We went with breakfast which was decent. Service was good and friendly. Coffee was strong and creamy. Always have nice items on the blackboard/specials as well. All in all, worth a visit

Upon my second visit I was very disappointed. Ordered the Early mover breakfast but the whole plate was full of oil, even when lifting the cup with chips in there was oil underneath. The coffee was also weak this time, the only plus point being the hot milk that came with it. Bread was not even properly toasted. Chips oily as well. Manager was too busy to talk to.. and head waitress just said sorry they were busy, it won't happen again. Won't recommend this place when it's busy. Also relatively expensive depending on what you order

Cute restaurant, nice vibe despite being in a shopping mall. Their service is attentive and quick, and their portions are very generous! Good food - nice breakfast or brunch spot. Good variety of cakes on display as well. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at Cafe Bagaso

Absolutely love their wood fired pizzas. They're very generous with the toppings. My mom and i always go there and always enjoy their food. One of the nicest options in tygervalley to choose from for a quick bite.

Situated in the heart of Tygervalley Mall is where you will find Cafe Bagaso. It is small yet cosy with a warm ambience to set the atmosphere.

They have a great selection of breakfast as well as sandwiches, tramazinis, pizzas and salads that can be found on the menu.

I stopped here for a delightful smooth and delicious cuppa java as drinking coffee is an essential part of my daily routine. It is great to notice that whether it is for a
quick cup on-the-run or eating a light lunch, the service is always warm and friendly.

A quaint little eatery where you can sit and relax while you soak up the caffeine.
Bad service. The place is dirty!! I got a dirty plate and then the waiter argued with me that it’s not dirty, when it was covered in some type of spice. Gross! I use to love this place but lately it’s not a pleasure. Their coffee is also not good at all. Not worth it.

DONT BUY THE CAKES. It’s old! They leave it there for days and overnight without being in a fridge. This is inexcusable and disgusting. People can get sick.

Use to be one of my favourite places to have breakfast on a Sunday morning but not after today.

I had my usual Italian job which is a bun with scrambled eggs, pesto, tomato and cream cheese. The bun was stale!

My husband had the English breakfast breakfast which was cold when it got to us.

I have always walked by but not eaten here. I have embarked on a Banting lifestyle so I'm not sure what places cater to this. Thankfully, my best friend knew they serve a Banting stack. It was really packed with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and nestled on that was a hamburger pattie laden with peppadews, onions and bell peppers. Perched atop of that was a fried egg, cheese and rocket. It was really good. So good in fact, that I cleared my plate. The only downside is that there seems to only have 2 waitresses for the entire area and it took a while before the waitress took our order and even longer to flag someone down to pay. I'll have to bring my hubby here.

Food is Nice! Service is good if you a sit down customer. Take-away customers have very very poor service.
Ordered a chicken wrap there and everything was fine but the chips were raw. Disappointment.

Cafe Bagaso makes the one of the bests salmon Salad dishes. I recon their special ingredients is love as it always tastes amazing. They also have good toasted sandwiches. The staff are kind and helpful and the look of the restaurant is hip and fresh.

Had a quick lunch here, ordered a toasted chicken mayo. But what was amazing were the chips that came on the side. So often nowadays restaurant use frozen oven chips, these were hand cut and properly cooked. I know it's just a chip but little sides like that make a difference.
Mariska
Had the chicken schnitzel AGAIN! It is very very good. Crumbed perfectly and the chicken itself is generous. A bit stingy with the mushroom sauce but the schnitzel make up for it. Quality hand cut chips and they had the timtam cheese cake!
Ben Kilian
Had the Nutella Almond Croissant on my first visit here, which was AMAZING!!

Decent coffee. Friendly & fast staff, but can get a tad slow when shop is packed. No SnapScan or Zapper support either unfortunately.

You simply HAVE to try their Banana Loaf French Toast, if you have a bit of a sweet tooth.

Have had mixed experiences here. Quality of food seems to be a total hit-&-miss. Learned to steer clear of the "specials", as they're almost always poorly prepared.

If nothing else, a very good coffee and cake spot.

I met with an old friend at Cafe Bagaso. We were seated and handed menus and chatted. 30 minutes later we noticed that no-one had come to serve us. We left. Unacceptable

I have eaten here a few times now and while the food and coffee has been good each time, the service is always slow whether they are busy or not.
Andrea Desfarges
I ordered a pizza and was brought the wrong one. Waitress told me I was mistaken and told me to just eat it. Clearly they haven't been trained. Paid and left pizza on table. Won't be back.

Grabbed a quick bite to eat while shopping. The staff were all very friendly and kept checking up on us. They had a few specials on the chalk board that were not listed on the menu, but I settled for a spinach and feta quiche. I'm usually a bit hesitant with quiche, because sometimes it can be a bit eggy, but it was very satisfying and served with either chips or a salad. They're reasonably prized and have plenty of seating.

They offer all day breakfast meaning I could have egg benedict whenever I want say 1500. Cafe mocha is a bit pricey but worthwhile, it comes with flake and marshmallows.

Went for Saturday morning brunch during our shopping trip. Very comfortable seeing and the staff was friendly and jacked up, especially for a Saturday morning. The portion size was good and the meal was tasty.

If you like lemon meringue this coffee shop serves the best lemon meringue ever. Always fresh and tasty. Will always visit the coffee shop when in Cape Town.

The service was slow and you probably can't blame the staff if you see what the have to work with. The cake service table was put together with plywood, edges showing. The cake knife just dumped in a bucket of water without being wiped clean. In general the seating under the escalator was dirty. Inside seating was dark, because it was badly lit as half the light bulbs were blown. Food was not worth mentioning
