Our third visit and as always very good service and lekka food. Neville Mugoniwa our waiter has the most beautiful smile and works there for 7 years and he made my day. I highly recommend Cafe Rousse! You will not be disappointed! 🌟

The perfect location for a quick lunch in-between your shopping activities. Located within the foodcourt area in Tygervalley Shopping Centre. It is close to the underground parking garage. Service is friendly and helpful. The menu provides for a variety of food and drink items to choose from. One can also order a glass of wine with your meal.

Tygervalley Centre Service Rd, Bellville Park. I visited Cafe Rousse for the first time with my daughter. The vibe is lovely and the place is cosy and the waitress was friendly and observant. The food was fresh and delicious. I tried the seafood linguine pasta and the calamari, prawns and muscles were the perfect texture. Couldn’t possibly have been more delicious 😇👌👏 I cannot call this a negative, as I knew beforehand that this was NOT a strictly halaal concern, but it’s a pity there aren’t more options for kosher and halaal customers. My daughter had pancakes with chocolate sauce and ice cream, which she also enjoyed very much. The hot chocolate was lovely as well. All in all an excellent experience âïžđŸ‘

I always walk by Café Rousse but today, me and a friend decided to walk in. Peaceful, no laptops or cellphones but lovely relaxing music. We ordered breakfast (sausages were really good) with mocho latte. The service was friendly and quick. Our lady waiter explainedd to use the menu. This cafe is for persons whom like peace and quite. I will not take children to this cafe due to the peacefulness. The prices on the menu are affordable. We recommend this cafe.

Service is good. Food came out quite quickly and staff is friendly. The roast lamb on traditional Turkish panini was to die for. I would highly recommend. The roast lamb wrap on the other hand was not so great. The lamb was very cold and unappetizing. Not sure because its a wrap that it was cold. The Lamb burger was excellence maybe thiner slice of halloumi. Chips maybe could have some chips spice which they didnt have. Drinks we had was great. It was delightful to see they had lamb on the menu

Amazing date night special on Thursday and Saturday. The food was brilliant. Typical mall atmosphere, unfortunately but worth a visit for the food.

Having eaten at almost every place in Tygervallei mall, this place was quite a breath of fresh air as it is not the usual chain restaurants. They have great specials and the food is of great quality. The staff is very helpful and the service is quick and efficient. They offer great value for money! I had the steak and blue cheese salad which was delicious.

A lovely little place, I truly enjoyed the experience. They have a wonderful atmosphere and their menu is nice and diverse. The breakfast was delicious and we didn't wait long for it to arrive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My mother in-law & I went for breakfast this morning & was it nice. From walking in, having breakfast & leaving, was just lovely. The friendly staff, the food & even the cappuccino was just devine. Would have given 10 stars if I could. Thank you

Ordered a chicken mayo tramezzini which was not toasted properly. Most of the chips were still hard and not cooked properly. Very dissapointed seeing that I almost paid a R100 for the tramezzini and extra R34 for the chips. Will not be ordering there again.

I had load shedding during the morning so I decided to go to Cafe Rousse.
i ordered the avo on toast with feta pesto rocket tomatoes etc
I asked them to please remove the pesto rocket and feta and give me 2 poached eggs instead
The waitress then cane back and said they can only give me one egg to substitute for those things they brought it to me with the thinnest piece of bread and a mountain of brown very bad tasting avocado with a poached egg slapped on top with water on the brown avocado that had run off the poached egg and no tomatoe
Honestly the worst dining experience I have ever had

Cafe Rousse is a family friendly cafe and mostly typical south african dishes. Would love to visit the cafe again although had an average experience.

A very nice place with good burgers and good coffee. It caters for breakfast, lunch and dinners and it is also a nice place for students with their snack specials.

Was here for breakfast. Menus are torn. Seats are broken and serving trays are broken. Coffee took very long to come around. Food turnaround was fine. Bacon and eggs was cold. Waitresses were unfriendly. I wont be back.

I decided to be nice and rate it 3 stars instead of 2. My Cajun chicken salad was decent and I actually enjoyed it. However we sat there for almost 40 minutes waiting for our food and the restaurant was less than half full. Quite a strange experience.

My first time to this cafe & what a disappointment, the food was bland the tarter sauce was nowhere near a tarter sauce, as well as the so called Mozambique sauce it was watered down. The rice was not cooked & the ribs was dry & tasteless. The waiter was very slow & we kept having to ask for our cutlery. I do not think that I would return or recommend this place to anyone else.

I did a breakfast date with a friend here and the food was very average.

I had a muffin with a hot chocolate and my friend had a scone with preserves with coffee.

There was nothing amazing about the service or the food.

When eating in a mall food court, it is always nice to try something different from the large food chains. Cafe Rousse has some very very good food with great tasting coffee. The selection is a little less than that of some of the chain restaurants but the quality makes up for it. Each item is well prepared and the service is very good.

As per usual, ordered the cappuccino. It is right on par with some of the coffee-only franchises providing a rich flavourful coffee with a thick, creamy, froth. To eat I ordered the House Breakfast with the added beef banger. Everything was just as I ordered and the food tasted amazing. The toast in particular was very tasty compared to those of some other caffe's.

2nd day here in a row and will definitely come here again.

First time experience with my girlfriend, she ordered steak with veggies, the manager brought her steak with chips, then halfway through my CHICKEN tramazzini, I bit into a hard piece of PRAWN shell, disgusted for the rest of my Friday evening, and eventually when my girlfriend got to the rest of her steak, it was still raw! Far from medium to well done and a serious health hazard, first and last time setting our feet there. Luckily I'm not allergic to shellfish!

Worst service of my life, ordered the special, got charged full price. Complete daylight Robery. Incorrect order brought to me. Dirty looks from staff for no reason. Very ill mannered place. Could not wait to leave. Food below average. DO NOT EAT HERE!

After a movie date night and not feeling too hungry nor in the mood to drive somewhere for dinner, we ended up at Cafe Rousse for dinner.

A convenient cafe that basically has all the traditional cafe food - breakfast, burgers, toasted sandwiches as well as larger meals like pasta and seafood, and of course, coffee and cake. Having read mixed reviews, I had no expectations, just hoping that my food would be edible and the service wouldn't take too long.

We were in luck - our food arrived relatively quickly! I had the chicken tramazinni and my better half had the sauce burger. My tramazinni was average - a bit too much bread for my liking and not enough filling to compliment the amount of bread. As for the burger, the patty was a bit dry, but still ok. Nothing to cry home about and I could've probably made a better sandwich at home. But it was convenient and we were able to watch the rugby on the big screen, which is always a bonus!

I can see why other diners have complained about the service - we waited quite a while for some tomato sauce. When we'd basically almost finished our food, our waitress came to ask if we were still alright, so we asked her again for tomato sauce and she confessed that she completely forgot. I couldn't help but notice that the staff seem somewhat disorganized and all over the place - we handed our bill to another waiter since we wanted to leave, and he seemed a bit flustered as to where our waitress had disappeared to.

On the plus side, this is a great place to go if you're on a tight budget - they have specials running everyday.

Overall, an average experience, but I think there are better cafes in the mall that give you more for your money's worth.

Our favourite spot. Love the cheddermelt steak and salad. Their iced coffee is the best ever! Always compare it to other cafes. Great service and great food. Be back soon

Situated in the bustling heart of Tygervalley shopping centre is where you find Cafe Rousse. A welcoming restaurant serving a selection of breakfasts, burgers, light meals, pastas only but to name a few.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast. My choice was a good Full House Breakfast with eggs, bacon, russian cheese griller, baked beans, mushrooms, grilled tomato and chips. Hubby ordered a tasty Scrambled Ham and cheese.

A great place to order a cup of coffee or to grab a bite to eat before heading to the shops.

This was the place with the least amount of people in it and I wasn't in the mood to be in a packed place on a busy Tygervalley Christmas Eve rush so We decided to eat here.

The waiter was seated us quickly and was very friendly throughout. The seating area was also very neat and clean with adequate spacing between tables.

I wasn't to surprised when I saw that the menu is a bit more expensive relatively to other cafe's.

I ordered the full house breakfast and it was good, but nothing to really make it standout.

After being served I noticed that my avo was definitely off. Avo shouldn't remind me of the fizzy sensation soda gives you... we informed the waiter that it's off and we're not happy. He then proceeded to ask if I would like him so remove the avo. After saying no thanx he went to the table next to ours, they had the same wrap, and asked them if they thought that the avo was off! After all of this the manager believed it's a good idea to insult a customer by saying that it's guacamole and not off avo... so lets clarify. I 1000% know the difference between avo and guacamole. And as a side note* they are expensive and the chicken sandwich was also dry!

This place seemed quite nice, only had a dessert here so I'll have to go back to try the actual main meals. The waffle was good, crispy enough but not tough to chew. The service was fairly good and the milkshakes were delicious. Nothing wow about the experience but it was good. I will definitely have to back to try other dishes.

Any restaurant in a mall may not be the place for a new culinary discovery. The experience here was therefore on par, no more nor less.

G's Ribs & Chips were tasty (we nibbled on the bones in public) and my Hake & Salad was ok (some leaf edges and creases had discoloured, perhaps because it was prepped too early).

The decor was cafe style, but the chair designs were some of the most awkwardly uncomfortable we've sat on. Our waiter was reticent in the beginning, but warmed up slightly.

This cafe / Restaurant has always great food and is situated is such a nice spot at Tyger Valley Centre. The only disappointment is that their staff are a bit too slow however as the food is good, sometimes it makes the wait worth the while. They have great daily specials for all to choose from.

Had breakfast while passing time. I've been to Tygervalley hundreds of times but it was my first time here. Restaurant was empty (it was early) so service was prompt and efficient. Opted for the Italian breakfast (not sure what makes it Italian though). Breakfast was as expected nothing overly spectacular. I like that have freshly squeezed juice. I had the orrange, carrot and grapefruit juice.

Great breakfast I had the eggs Benedict and they where amazing. There is a Warm and inviting atmosphere with good breakfast stables. The cakes where a bit disappointing. Cappuccinos where average and service a bit slow. But all in all a decent experience

First time to actually sit down and eat here and the service sucked like actually I wanted to stand up and leave my order I mean a MINI BREAKFAST that takes longer than 30min and only 60% of the restaurant is full on Father's day is a no go

We went for lunch at this restaurant with my wife eating the open chicken, avo and roasted cherry tomato sandwich and myself having the porchetta sandwich. The food looked good, but a very bland open sandwich with no roasted cherry tomatoes and crackling on my sandwich that was almost inedible, made for a displeasing experience. No manager to apologize about the crackling, just telling the waitress that's it's supposed to be that hard. Won't be back here again.

I've eaten here a few times with friends. I can't say I'm overwhelmed. The service is good. Last week, I was there with a friend. I ordered the grand cappuccino. There was nothing grand about it. I find M&B's grande cappuccino much larger.
I also had a croissant and it was nice. I don't eat their lunches. Again, the portions are smaller than other places. I don't have a huge appetite but for the price you pay, the portions could be slightly larger.

Large portions .. friendly efficient service .love the decor and comfy couches ... relaxing vibe... ribs and onion rings were to die for !!!!

I love trying out new coffee shops and I am pleased to say that Cafe Rousse did not disappoint. The flat white I ordered was really tasty and the slice of lemon meringue was equally as tasty. Satisfied

Yummy cappuchino & cake! Met up with a school friend after 15years, and was a great coffeeshop to suit the occassion ;) enjoy fresh bakery goods and coffee!

Visited on a Monday night. Not too busy but food took longer than 20 min. Ordered the bone steak that came without a T!! Chips were done in old oil. No kiddies menu. Ribs were very good. Amatraciana nice but overpriced. Service good. Don't think we'll visit them again for dinner

It a 4.0 rating from me because I had a great breakie here, I also had lunch on a previous occasion which was a standard toasted sandwich and chips. Breakie though, impressed. I had the Full English on special for R66 and worth every penny in my mind. I had so much to eat on my plate that I struggled to finish. For those of you who don't know where Tyger Valley is, it's in Bellville area, this spot is like a Mugg & Bean vibe. I have to say though, that the decor is way better. It's fantastic actually. I had a few meetings there for my new music video which was cool, as I don't often get to experience that side of Cape Town often. I wouldn't say service was outstanding, but it wasn't bad either. My breakfast though, so huge I am still loving the vibes. Check it out in my pictures and pop in for a bite if you are in the area :) I am always on the hunt for an epic breakie and this spot nailed it for me...

Went on a busy Saturday at about 12ish, not a single waiter were willing to notice us or give us a seat. Their juice combinations were very good, tried their carrots, orange, pineapple and ginger. Ordered the monster burger and it didn't disappoint. The waiter even got my special order of no mayo and onions right, extra browny points for that!

The place is ok, although the food isn't the best. Had breakfast there as well and the breakfast is not bad at all, although I do believe I would much rather go somewhere else. Their waiters wait outside and half corner you to make your way inside as they are always quiet..

What the hell?
Ordered 2 x poached eggs, one raw in the middle.
Waiter brings another one, uses the same toast that the half-raw egg was served on!
Disgusting!

The worst service i have experienced in a long time. We had to call a waiter to serve us and waited nearly a 30 min for our coffee. The most unfriendly waiter i have ever seen not a good name for the business. Tables were not cleaned after the previous people left, again have to ask the waiter to get someone to clean the table. The waiters are standing talking to each other and do not care about their costumers. There was a old lady sitting at a table the waiter walked several times passed her not even asking if he could help her bad, bad. After a while she stood up and left. Please can the management see to that their waiters are trained properly they are there to render a service to the costumers not to chit chat to each other.

Absolutely atrocious service with outrageous prices.
In such a competitive market it is arrogant of any operator to feel so independent.
Tygervalley Shopping Centre is a hub of food choices.
Passing by this restaurant with heavy bags I decided to stop at Café Rousse being convenient.
It was fairly busy so I sat down at a table with my partner.
She ordered a GRANDE CAPACCINO and I ordered a HAZALENUT LATTE while perusing the menu for a meal.
The grande was a regular sized cup for R 26 and the Hazelnut Latte had no flavour at all.
In order to get the waitron's attention I had to wait until I could find any other waitron as there were 6 of them standing in a huddle.
When he eventually came over and I explained that the latte had no flavour, his words were that the kitchen mustve forgotten to add it.
I received the replacement but my partner and I decided not to eat there as the attitude was appalling and the service even worse.
A big NO not to be recommended at all. There are many other restaurants and coffee shops from which to choose where service and prices will surely be way better.
