Went for lunch on a Thursday, It was very quiet, The food was the best you can present a fish & chips meal

Went there for lunch on Sunday. We ordered platter for two. Platter is quite big, a lot of food. Mostly it is was good, except that they add lots of butter to the food making it too oily. Also mussels didn’t have any flavour. But other than that we enjoyed the meal and enjoyed the atmosphere there. Waiter was friendly.

Went on 3 July 2022 just after 5pm (I think they close at 7pm on a Sunday). Had the cosmopolitan to share (it was very sweet) and you can get about 6 glasses out of it. We also ordered a seafood platter for 2 and it was very delicious. A big thank you to our server, Duncan for his friendliness and assistance. They played really good music as well.

What a lovely experience I had the mussels with chips (I skipped, but you also get extra rice) and was more than satisfied with both portion size and taste. The strater bread was heavenly as well (dip it in the sauce for the mussels!) Also, our waiter Turbulence (awesome name) was absolutely lovely. Made great recommendations, always approached us with a smile, he was not there too much, but was never hard to get to either. He hit the sweet spot very well. We also saw how cool they handle birthdays. They celebrate im a greek fashion, you should come here to find out what I mean, I can't do it justice with a few words. The music was also on point the whole evening. Edited to fix spelling mistakes.

Great experience all round. Located on the upper section of the Foodcourts at Tygervalley Shopping Centre. Friendly staff welcomes you as you enter and make sure your needs are taken care of throughout. A favourite is the Fish and Chips complemented by a Greek Salad. Layout of the restaurant is great with good views onto the entire middle section of the Centre. One can also request specific add-ons for birthdays and other celebrations.

The fish was cooked to perfection, food was a 12/10!! Staff is super friendly and food served super quick as well.

This visit definitely showed me that Ocean Basket is a true force to be reckoned with, in the sea food restaurant space. Every single element on this plate, including those soft and delicious buns, was out of this world. It certainly won't be long before my return.

I would just like to thank Walter for the awesome service we received earlier this evening. My husband and I made dinner reservations at a well known 5 star restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The service and food was so terrible that we ended up walking out. Our last visit to OB Hazendal and a few others prior to that was super disappointing. We decided we done with OB for good. To be honest OB was the last restaurant I thought I'd end up celebrating our special day. It was also one of the only restaurants still open. I'm so glad we ended up at OB Tygervalley . The food was amazing and Walter made our evening extra special with a special "anniversary treat" Thank you for restoring our faith in OB. I will definitely visit again.

Ocean Basket is one of our favourite places to indulge in seafood.

I used to go to OB regularly for my fish fix but can’t stand the mall anymore. So going today was the first time I got to see the new shop and I like it. The old decor got a bit dated. The new shop looks great but even beter is that the quality of service and the product stayed excellent. R300 for the platter for 2 is fair although I always end up wanting more prawns but that is just because it is so damn good. And now they have craft beer as well so maybe I should brave the mall more often, afterall fish is high is some omega 3 thingy which is apparantly good for you, more than the cajun spice.

Really bright and Morden , neat and great service fresh food 🍱 I loved my grilled fish and the service was fast like they knew I was rushing

So I go to ocean basket tonight thinking let's give it a try have not been to the new one as yet walk up the stairs get seated and wait for 10min for menu's then I wait a 15min and I have not even given a drinks order never mind met my waiter to this very second I can say I still don't know who my waiter was ment to be I then proceeded to get up and walk out the store witch just so by the way no one even saw me doing I could have picked up my chair and walked out and the manager not the staff would have known so I have tried it did not even get to the food would not recommended anybody to go there unless you enjoy sitting around a table with no drinks no food and wait for a service.

Had an absolutely great lunch at Ocean basket Tygervalley, friendly staff, and the freshest, crispiest batter I've had at all the ocean baskets I've been to, would definitely recommend this to anyone. Try the Mediterranean rice balls... Amazing!!

Took over 50 minutes for our small sushi order. Told Tayna the waitron twice we are leaving She didn’t bother to clear our dishes and when I approached the supposed manager Walther, standing doing nothing behind the glass wall, his excuse was he just came on duty. Pathetic apology, paid bill and vowed never to return! Other tables around us were equally frustrated since restaurant wasn’t half full and it was 1.30pm! Past lunch time. Sis, considering there are 2 sushi/seafood restaurants a stone throw away I would imagine they would wake up a bit! Ironically the waitron told us the fashion sandwiches were taken off the menu because they take too long? Must of been hours if 2 small sushi portions take almost an hour! Melanie and Walther must do their job better.

Good day I want to complain about the poor service I received at ocean basket tygervalley, I walked in exactly 16:41 and I know that because I messaged my finance as soon as I walked into the place and only at 17:07 was I helped , and the worst part about this is that the place wasn't full there were only 4 tables taken other than that place was empty but I wasn't even noticed by any of the staff , I spoke to the manager and he called over 1 of the waiters and waiters said I wasn't ready to order which is a absolute lie I had no interaction with anyone at all for that 20 odd minutes I was sitting here. Terrible service 26 minutes no body ask me if I'm ready to order felt like a fool trying to call waiters and nobody seeing me or hearing me and I was basically in the middle of the floor place was close to empty with only 4 tables taken and all the other tables open

Had the best food from you guys this evening through Mr Delivery!! Well done you have def sorted out your kitchen....something is def new!! Food was fresh and portions were good. Thank you!!! Keep it up!
