Review Redies - Bellville

Excellent, hole-in-the-wall eatery with some of the most authentic Chinese cuisine I have ever had. Their sushi buffet and set menus are incredible! Staff are so attentive and friendly and they offer both sit-down or takeaway. Even during loadshedding, the food and service is of the highest standard. We loved our meal here and found the setting to be lovely too. We parked at the back right near the shop.

We had the Thai red curry & TV Box (sweet & sour pork with noodles). Absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and we had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Thanks Redies!

Great Sushi and exceptional Curry dishes as well...rest of the menu is pretty straight forward with a Chinese Restaurant. But their Sushi and Curry Dishes stand out in taste to any other place. Always friendly and helpful! They also never had any issues with special orders...highly recommend it.

best tempura prawns and dim sum in durbanville... usually really quiet atmosphere which is great for introverts

We get their takeout sushi platters quite the regularly now, decent prices. I usually phone and order for collection, as it takes quite long.

A great restaurant / Fast food. This place has incredible service, they are fast and reliable. The waiters are friendly and know their menu very well, the specials are outstanding for attracting people! Thank you for the experience I will be there soon again.

Atmosphere is typical of a traditional Chinese restaurant/take-away. But the food is amazing great flavours, great options, great price. Forgot about this gem for a few years. But awesome to be back for 2nd time in a month.

Discovered this hidden gem today! Tried various Chinese takeouts in our area! This is by far the best wrt food quality, friendly service nd price! Didn't feel like cooking tonight! Last minute decision, I searched the web nd found Redies! Ordered C/Chowmein,C/Fooyung,S&S Pork,P/Springrolls nd Bowties! AWESOMENESS!!! I for one cannot fault their food wrt freshness, appearance nd ingredients used! We will definitely be back again! I prepare nd cook Chinese food at home for fun! the first 3 times buying take away from them was great, on the 4th time I ordered a pork chop suey and the pork was off and tasted horrible.

The food, in all honesty, really wasn,'t bad at all, it was enjoyable. The sushi on the other hand, really wasn't the best. The staff is really friendly

Hands down the most authentic Chinese food I’ve had in Cape Town. <br/><br/>Ordered the green beans and chili pork mince. Made in the authentic Sichuan way - hot and yummy! The Chinese pancake is like a deep fried thick paratha stuffed with spring onion. Also made like the real deal found in mainland China. <br/><br/>Super sad this place is so far from home. I’d eat here everyday!<br/><br/>Update: loved it so much, had to order again. This time I had the steamed pork dumplings and a 4 piece rainbow roll. The sushi is meh. The dumplings are gorgeous! Not a fan of the sauce they serve it with - would much prefer a vinegar soy mix.

Bought some sushi yesterday after a while.. And it is still delicious!!! Fresh and tasty. Keep up the good work, will be coming back soon!!!!!!

Best sushi place in the northern suburbs. Love to go there and get sushi, give it a try you will start to love it too. <br/><br/>PS just be a little patient when you go and get your sushi, takes a bit of time to make it and trust me it will be worth the wait. You can always call them and order via phone and just pick it up a few minutes later 😜 or use an ubereats or Mr delivery

Let me get straight to the point. Attention to detail people... I have had better sushi at our local pick n pay. I love sushi but couldn't stomach the "ish" sorry for that but it's not something that you should sell in your restaurant maybe try something else maybe that could work for you. I was looking forward to some good sushi but you spoiled my night with what I received

The sushi is great and well priced. And the specials are a great deal. The lady at the front is very friendly and the service is very fast. <br/><br/>On the other hand the food is not the best. Ordered a chicken curry and waited half an hour for a pile of rice and hardly anything else in it. The veg was under cooked and it was bitter.

We always get our sushi takeaways from here; it's always delicious and also good value for money. Their Chinese is great and their location is central. The service os great and the food comes fast!

Rather give it a skip. <br/><br/>I waited longer than half an hour for my food. Which is unacceptable. They weren't exactly very busy. My order included 2 orders of sweet and sour pork and a portion of pork dim sum. <br/><br/>The food itself was another dissapointment on its own. The sweet and sour pork was not light and crispy as you would expect it to be. It was dense, and hard, like a rock. I could kill a cat if I threw it with it. <br/><br/>Then the dim sum. I could see that they were shaping these in a rush. The pasta was dense and thick. And weren't propperly fried. (I ordered the potsticker dumplings) <br/>I guess my expectations were a bit too high. But there are certain things that you would expect even places like this to do correctly!<br/><br/>So rather take your hard earned money elsewhere.

Decided to get some sushi here because we were in the area and they have always been good in the past. Well, I have no idea what happened but I can strongly say I'll be taking my money elsewhere. <br/><br/>Lady in the front (who is fully English, so there's no language barrier excuse), assures me that there is absolutely no avo in the dishes I'm ordering, and tells me that she will also make sure the chefs leave it out. Bare in mind, I'm getting this for someone who is highly allergic to avo, so it isn't a joke. <br/><br/>She brings the sushi and says "Oh it's okay if the platter has avo hey?" NO. It isn't. I tell her this, she simply shrugs her shoulders and walks away. That is not how you do business, and like I said, I will be taking my money elsewhere.

It has good vibe and music, not too busy on weekdays (good for dates). The food is interesting and suprising, a good mix of chinese and thai options, excellently priced for take-away, be prepared to pay extra for sit down. THE chinese restaurant for this area.

Reddies has always been our families favourite Chinese and Asian restaurant that was and is always filled with the world's biggest smiles. As I am a traditionalist, it is always great to have their set menu. Filled with alot of delicious food and different things at such a great place. The restaurant has such a homely and welcoming atmosphere. We recommend Reddies to all who love a good Chinese night out.

What More to say I have been coming to Redies from the beginning, it is part of my Family because we share time spent and great food. <br/><br/>If you are looking for Chinese food and you want Chinese food because you've been to China. Then look no further. <br/><br/>Ask the waiter you would like a meal like you can get in Shanghai Then you will understand that this place is the real deal. <br/><br/>I had the privilege to come there often whiles Redies was still the owner now her Daughter and Son in law is running the show. But never the less the legacy lives on.<br/><br/>Thanks to a platform like Zomato i can tell my story.

Great sushi for the prices charged. I think their sushi can hold a candle against the higher tiered restaurants. Attentive staff and great personal service

Cute little Chinese shop. Doesn't look like much from the outside, and when you first go in it seems average, but the sushi is really good and the prices even better. 8 rainbow rolls for R40, 4 salmon roses for R35. The sushi is fresh.<br/><br/>There is also a lot of combo's and platters to also choose from at reasonable prices.<br/><br/>The service was also friendly and fast.
