The food is always amazing, the service was great. Whenever I feel like eating a really well cooked steak, I go there. The wine selection is great-a bit expensive. Desserts are good and their Vodka Martini is a sin. Thanks guys. Great meal and atmosphere at a really bad time in our lives.

Everything was fantastical! We went for the 3rd year anniversary and had a blast. Food was top-notch, and so was the atmosphere and service. The complimentary chocolate vodka martinis were just the touch needed to end off our magical evening. The vibe was ambient and cozy, and the marrow bones were to die for.

Amazing experience! My family and I all really enjoyed our dinner at Hussar Grill Willowbridge. The service was excellent! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very nice. On Tuesday nights, they have a date night special, which I would definitely recommend going for! I also recommend making a reservation, seeing as the restaurant was full tonight (Tuesday date night). I will definitely be back soon!

The Hussar Grill is good restaurant cum bar. It has a good ambience and decent crowd. It’s good for family dinner. I liked the King clip fish preparation by the chef. Staff is well behaved and service is also good.

Our first visit to Hussar Grill Willowbridge was incredible. From the get go, the service was impeccable. We arrived a little early and while one of the waitresses was making sure our table was ready for us, 2 other friendly staff members greeted us at the door to make sure we had been attended to. This was the warmest greeting we have ever experienced at a restaurant, by far. The 3 course Date Night set menu was incredible. Every dish was delicious and the serving sizes were perfect to make sure you roll out of there. The malva pudding was legendary! Our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was cozy. We will definitely be returning and recommending this establishment to our friends and family!

The Hussar Grill is a popular place indeed! With hardly an empty chair on the saturday night we were there, the Hussar was alive with happy customers sharing good company, good food and good service. Best to book your seat in advance.

Fantastic service and food. Had medium rare sirloin 500g with pepper sauce - such yum! Wife had a beetroot salad. We can’t stop talking about how amazing the staff were. We were given delicious chocolate vodka martini’s just before the bill. It was insane. Everything was perfect. My wife loved it as much as I did and so did my son. Happy wife, happy life!

Beautiful place for casual or high end lunch and dinners. Great service, the staff is attentive and really great in term of keeping you happy and making the experience pleasurable. Food is by far some of the best I tasted. Steaks juicy and variety of sides. Amazing salad and also vegetarian options. Deserts not only look but taste amazing. Great for a dress up date night but they can also assist with kids meals like chicken strips etc. Mood is relaxing and great ambiance. Meals are above average priced but still affordable and worth the price. Definately a 10 out of 10 for me... You have to try for yourself!!!

It was my first time going to The Hussar Grill. It was a great experience. I have zero zero complaints. It's a perfect place for a romantic dinner or just a private dinner for a small family.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Hussar Willowbridge on Friday evening past. The ambience and service was of its normal professional standard but disappointed with my order of the Pork ribs. The ribs I felt were overpriced for the portion served<br/> and this was absolutely tasteless also. This is not the first time I have had this issue with my food at Willowbridge - a visit or two previously i experienced the same issue when ordering a rump steak - this was also a tasteless piece of meat. Very disappointing. The owner assures me that the ribs are parboiled in vegetable stock for three hours - if this is the case maybe we should try a different method of preparation.

I was there for a special occasion and I liked the place, it was perfect for a chilled evening spending with someone. The staff was friendly, they saw we brought sparkling wine and they inmediatly brought us a bucket to put the sparkling wine in there to be cold. We got seated and order steak and chips with mushroom or pepper sauce I don't remember but it was really good, while we waited for the food they brought us olives and some sweet potato snacks I believe, unfortunately as much as I love olives couldn't eat it because it had garlic on it, but that's on me.. Other than that was a great evening and good food.

Last week Wednesday I went for my birthday and I loved the food and they had amazing service. We were about 12-15 people and all the food arrived together, all the orders were correct. I would definitely recommend this Hussar Grill.

This was just the most pleasant lunch! The music was light and it was easy to converse. The seats were comfy and the table was clean and well presented. The menu is quite standard from a steakhouse perspective, easy to read with meat, fish and poultry. We all had steaks, which are pricey but well worth it. The steak was tasty, tender and juicy- delicious. The chips were great too. We also asked for extra peppery pepper sauce and they delivered. The one party had to send their steak back for being a bit sinewy, but they were so easy about it that it was not even a bother! Creme brulee and ice cream was amazing too. Definitely a place to visit!

Delicious food and very good service. Ordered the Snails and Bitterballen for starters, with the Ribs and Carpetbagger steak for mains, one portion of chips and one portion butternut and spinach. Everything was delicious, the spinach tasted slightly bland (to me). Highly recommended.

We were here for the winter lunch special and it was so nice cosy warm the starter was a krumpt calemary strips with a nice souse and the mains was a scrumptious rump i would recommend this place for there steak and all the auther things.

Very disappointing. <br/>I found the menu a bit boring and the service non existent. <br/>I ordered a burger which was cooked correctly but the accompanying chips were scolding hot while the burger patty was warm, as if it had been waiting for the chips.<br/>Despite us arriving after the lunch rush, the kitchen was very slow.<br/>Unfortunately I won’t be hurrying back.

Wow!!! What an amazing experience - think I also had the best seat in the house watching the stunning thunderstorm from inside their library room. The waitress was amazing - getting to see our steak choices on a wooden board and having each one explained with the different recommendations for style and sauces made my mouth water! We had the snails 3 way starter --- wow!! The paprika and rosemary one was my absolute favourite! For main we had Tbone, ribeye and Gemsbok. The 1st 2 we had done hollands which is pepper crusted then pan fried in butter and flambé with brandy served with a honey mustard sauce (insane!!!) the Gemsbok was done with a red wine, peach snaps and rosemary jus (holy moly!!!!) I will definitely be back for the fillet on the bone very soon --- love this place and will gladly recommend it to anyone.

This place makes steak at the top level! I had the 500g Sirloin at Medium Rare and it was prepared to perfection. Compared to some restaurants in Town, this is extremely good value for money.

Really enjoyed my evening at Hussar. The waiters are so kind and friendly and sooo professional. They really made me feel welcome there.<br/><br/>The food was amazing I had the 300g steak medium rare and it was done to perfection. Tasted succulent and delicious. One of the best steaks i’ve ever had. I enjoyed my steak with some nice roast veggies, which i think is an awesome combo as you rarely get a combo like that. But you do have options to take rice, cream spinach, side salad or fries. <br/><br/>For dessert I had the orange and dark chocolate mouse with ice cream. The mouse was so smooth and silky. The hint of orange was amazing. Tasted like the lindt orange peel and dark chocolate slab 👌🏽<br/><br/>If you are carnivore and love your steak then this is the place for you. Also this is not your typical restaurant its calm and relax and its got a nice chilled atmosphere. So if you want to spoil someone special or maybe have a lovely birthday dinner or just need a good steak then this is the place for you. You won’t go wrong. PS remember to make a booking as it can get quit full because of its popularity.

Professional staff. Clean tablecloths. Good food. Great wine. Used often to entertain business guests and enjoyed by all. Steaks are done to a turn, sauce accompaniments and veggie add_ons delicious. Cosy restaurant yet sufficient space for larger tables. Worth a visit.

Amazing! Had their chateubriand is melt in your mouth beautiful, and the chocolate martini is a must! The staff were extremely helpful and kind.

This Hussar Grill is much like the others that I have been to, the decor is upmarket, warm and the fires that they had going were roaring as well. <br/>We were welcomed by friendly staff and were attended to by friendly and attentive staff throughout the evening.<br/><br/>We opted for the fried crumbed camembert starter which was as good as we would have expected and most enjoyable. For mains we had the Lamb shank and Fillet Béarnaise respectively. The lamb was exceptionally well prepared and enjoyed, and didn't have too much fat as seems to be common at other restaurants of late. The Fillet was also perfectly prepared, the steak was tender and tasty. The sauce was (as indicated on the menu) a little different to what I am used to but nevertheless still a great accompaniment to the steak.<br/><br/>We really enjoyed our evening at the restaurant and we will continue to support this chain of restaurants.

It's been a while since we've been here but we had an awesome time with friends. Each husband ordered the Wild Hog 600g ribs. My girlfriend ordered the grilled lamb and I had the Fillet Bearnaise. <br/><br/>The sauce on the ribs was a bit sweet but the portion was a great size. The guys thoroughly enjoyed their food and the side veggies. One had the roasted veg and the other had the creamed spinach and butternut. I think my girlfriend half enjoyed her lamb. I loved my fillet. It was cooked perfectly. I wanted it medium rare and it was cooked to order.<br/><br/>We chose to share a bottle of red wine since we all had meat. Then we ordered dessert. She had the Malta pudding and I shared the creme brulee with my husband. <br/><br/>We had a fantastic waiter. We didn't wait long for a table (I forgot to reserve a table). Great atmosphere. Great service. We'll be back.

As we were in the area, and we know the Husser has a good reputation for its meat, we stopped here for lunch. I won't lie, it didnt start off well. It took about 10minutes,before a waiter even looked at our table,and it took my mom to go up and find someone, before we were attended to. But eventually after we grabbed someones attention, it went smoothly. We started off with a Springbok carpaccio as well as the chicken livers( with a bottle of Merlot). It was absolutely delicious. Thinly sliced meat, with olive oil and a light salad was the perfect way to start things off. We then moved onto the mains, which were lamb cutlets, and lamb shank, both served with mash and veg for the table. The lamb was succulent and well seasoned, and the reduction was full of flavour. The prices are appropriate for the portions you receive and the atmosphere is intimate and cosy. Pity it started off the way it did, nevertheless the meal was great!

Ambience is good inside Restuarant but not so great outside. The food was great, strange that we had to pay for bread which was not so fresh.

I am an avid Hussar grill customer all over the Cape Town area and this one is completely up to standard as the other ones I've been to. The food is top notch. Wait staff are completely hospitable and welcoming and the atmosphere is intimate. Fantastic for a dinner date.

I can never fault this place on their meat or presentation. While the food was awesome the service was slightly delayed and sauce for the dish came after we asked twice which was slightly dissapointing. It was very impressive to see the owner out on the floor and involved in the dinner service. Still one of the best grill places to go to.

Meat lovers unite!! 😊 I can honestly not tell you what their menu is like, except for the meat. If I feel like a great no-fuss piece of red meat, this is the place to go. Friendly staff, great service and well prepared, perfectly cooked rump/ fillet every time.

Great place for casual-fine dining. Great place to enjoy food with good friends for a long night chat. Food is great, steak is juicy. Services are so great that you have no complaint at all.

Decided to try out The Hussar Grill for dinner. They seemed busy, but service was quick. Unfortunately, all the people serving us seemed very abrasive and unfriendly. Thus, the atmosphere was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Didn't want to stay any longer than necessary. Although the food was good, will never return. Disappointing.

We were on a foodie drive trying to pick a random restaurant to try out food for lunch. Since there were no good ones close by we decided to go to this place. I still remember when I suggested this place to my manager for a team eat out, he outright said no as he considered this place to be overpriced. Either way we decided to try.<br/>We started late around 3 for a late lunch. We got into the mall and this restaurant is exactly adjacent to the entrance and we missed it totally again. So we trace back with maps and get in. <br/>I liked the ambience and friendliness of the waiters on the first instance. They served us some complimentary sweets which I recall we used to get for Christmas. I ordered for 2 woodford reserve doubles on rocks and asked for some chicken liver starter to spice up the drinks a bit. The liver and the gravy was very nice and the butter bread was so tasty with the gravy as we gorged in. After a while I asked for a single Glenfiddich for myself as my friend didn't want another. We browsed through the menu and ordered mussels plate and Norwegian salmon. The mussels were as amazing as the ones we got at oceans basket. The Norwegian salmon was also fantastic but could have been spiced more on the grill. I disliked the smell of mustard on the potatoes so my friend suggested we mix up the mashed potatoes to the plate of mussels gravy and sprinkle some pepper on the mix. We made our own dish and I liked it very much.<br/><br/>We didn't ask for any desserts as we were filled to the brim. We asked for the bill, tipped the waiter and left. It was so odd we didn't try meat grills maybe because we were in the mood for some sea food. 😎

The Hussar Grill is a place that is more of a treat because its a little bit fancier than most family restaurants :)<br/><br/>The place sets a nice ambience. We were seated where we got a beautiful view of the sun going down. The service is good and staff are very friendly. Always attending to you, making you feel a bit like royalty.<br/><br/>They are a bit on the pricier side, but the steak I had was prepared perfectly and tasted good and accompanied by a cheese sauce rounded the meal off nicely.<br/><br/>Dont know that its the kind of place I would go to often but deffies worth the try.

Craved red meat and got my fill at The Hussar Grill. Warm and old world steakhouse charm at this particular franchise and although we didn't book they accommodated the two of us in a very comfy and intimate booth. Service was friendly and attentive. There was a little glipsy when the waiter brought my main with my starter but it was quickly rectified. Waiter, manager on duty and the owner came to apologise. So in a nutshell...service for me was top notch.<br/><br/>My steak tartare was served the traditional method and liked that I could balance the complimentary ingredients to the meat according to my taste. The Hollandse Biefstuk was beautifully seasoned and as soft as butter and hubby's T-bone was more than he could handle.<br/><br/>

Took a chance and came here without a booking..well we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table! Best to book in advance as its really busy!! Been wanting to try this place for ages and decided last minute to give it a try. I love how friendly and attentive the staff are. The food does take a while to arrive but the ambience makes up for it. I ordered the calamari which was so soft and tender..the rest of my family ordered the fillet, sirloin and rump steaks. Having tried all 3 i found the fillet to be the best while the rump was quite fatty and the sirloin abit tough. We really enjoyed ourselves and glad we waited all that time because it was worth it.

I always have a positive experience at this restaurant. Succulent steaks and stunning views!! The fact that they don't charge corkage is a major plus for me.

I've been to the Hussar Grill in Camps Bay and Green Point before and have always been good. We were at Willowbridge for a show The Barnyard Theater. We didn't have a booking but able to secure a table. Service is very friendly and efficient. Good selection on the wine list and the hardest choice is what to have. We both had steaks and cooked to perfection and left full fat and happy to the show.

Good service, waiters as professional. Complimentary bowl of veg crisps while you wait for your food, really tasty. My burger was delicious and surprisingly affordable. The grill marks on the patty add to the flavour.

The best Steak in Cape Town - If you are looking for the best steak in Cape Town visit The Hussar Grill located in Willowbridge, Bellville. The quality of the meat is always good and their steaks are grilled to perfection. Service is always amazing. As an additional bonus you can take in your wine at no corkage charged. Their own Hussar wine is also really good and great value for money.  It is recommend to always make a reservations as they are almost always full.

Spend a lovely evening dinning at the Hussar Grill! Conveniently located in the Willowbridge shopping center, it makes for the perfect place to enjoy a wholesome meal with family and friends without the hassle of having to travel far.<br/><br/>As far as the food goes, I was extremely impressed by the starters we had. We ordered the Italian tomato soup and the bitterballen. Both were absolute stand out dishes, and if they were given to me as my main, I would've been more than happy! The tomato soup was literally thee best tomato soup I've ever tasted. It ticked all the boxes - rich and creamy, with just that little bit of kick from the tomato. Complimented perfectly by the sour cream and Italian spices. A special mention must go to the bread as well, which was still warm from the oven and deliciously crispy, yet soft and spongy enough to let you soak up the last bit of soupy goodness. The bitterballen got a 5/5 as well!<br/><br/>For mains, we had a beef fillet and the chili and chocolate chicken. The fillet was tasty, but not the best. It was perhaps a bit overcooked. As for the chicken, the "legendary" chocolate sauce was delicious and worked really well with the chicken, but the chicken fillet itself was a bit dry. I really loved the chocolate and chili combination, being a huge fan of spicy food myself, but I think it might be a bit hot for people who are "chili intolerant". <br/><br/>There was simply no room left for dessert, but I will return some day to try their famous chocolate vodka and ice cream cake! <br/><br/>Overall, good service, nice vibe, lovely out on the patio on a warm summer's evening as well as close and cozy inside. Enjoyed the madagascar pepper steak, and rump with mushroom sauce. The character made up by the taste of the dishes made up for the mediocre presentation. <br/>Awesome ambience, which almost equalled the awesome cocktails - mojito and sex and on the beach. <br/>Service by Simon was very good - not overbearing, but did not neglect us either. <br/>And the company was awesome 😉

Good evening with friends. Was in the mood for steak and as always a great choice. The Hollandsche Biefstuk (200g and 300g fillet with crushed pepper and brandy) was cooked to perfection and exacy as ordered. Wayne the waiter was excellent and the wine selection was good.

We had the Hollandse Bittetballen as starter. Starter was nice. For main we had the fillet on the bone. We asked for chocolate chilli sauce with the fillet. The sauce was good. The fillet was ok. The salad with the fillet disappointed. For desert we had the chocolate ganape pie. This was very disappointing. On the good side, you can bring your own wine without corkage fee. Also some crisps beforehand that is average.

What a killer of a steak - mushroom sauce, new baby potatoes, best pumpkin and veggies and a side salad for the table. Perfectly topped off by an amazing and generous slice of baked cheese cake. A must if you're a steak lover. Great wine selection for any wine lover ;)

Definitely more of a fine dining experience with a very relaxed ambience. The steaks are melt-in-your-mouth and the sauces are exceptional! Just make sure to always pair it with a good wine and you will walk out at the end of the meal feeling like you have had a mini vacation!

Was there last night. The place was full and buzzing. Service excellent and the Wild Hog Ribs still my favorite. The onion wings made differently than what I last had, but still delicious.

Visited yesterday evening for a work function. Service, food and atmosphere were superb - as all my experiences with Hussar Grills have been. Calamari starter reputation is well earned.

The Hussar Grill has the best steaks in the world! Absolutely amazing presentation, knowledgeable waitrons, EXCELLENT wine! Highly, highly recommended. Try the 300g rump, fries, Ernst Gouws & Co. Merlot 2012 and the chocolate vodka to top off a magnificent evening! The price is WELL WORTH the experience!

One of the nicest steaks I've ever had. Snails were very small tho but still very nice. They have a very nice tomato soup for starters and the food is definitely worth the money your paying. The service was good and very friendly, the manager nicely explained the anatomy of the cow so that we understand where our meat came from.

The Hussar Grill is trying  very hard to be an up-market steak house, and I think if you look at their ambience and taste their food you might think, 'hey, these guys are killing it.' The only problem is if you walk in without sport-star fame or a thirty year loyalty card you get put in the corner and treated like staff. Ambience: homey with nice music. Food: good, small portions priced about right for post mid-life-crisis couples. Service: lacklustre with a middle-class family restaurant feeling. White linen serviettes and abundant glassware doesn't put you in the big leagues.

Good food, and no corkage which is an added plus! Also will recommend the meat on the bone as this is their speciality and very succulent and tasty not dry. Will go back again.

Knowledgeable staff providing informative choices, a manager who is always present on the floor, a refined but relaxed dining atmosphere, all of which culminates in a culinary experience which leaves the guest wanting to come back for more.

Came here with 9 people. All had mains and desserts. Everything was delicious. The fillet is amazing and the sides are great. I would recommend the ice cream cake. Chocolate volcano was also good.

Hussar is a excellent restaurant. Fillet on the bone are the best. Service is great even if the restaurant is fully booked. You have to book or you might not get a seat.

The Hussar grill is a stunning venue. It's not exactly halaal but there's plenty to choose from the menu that's "kosher". The ambience is just brilliant and prices aren't bad at all.

Dinner at Willowbridge Hussar Grill was excellent as always. Perfect mid-week treat. Hogs ribs, my favourite, were perfect. One of the few restaurants around where the wine by the glass is descent.

I had dinner there last night and it was really superb with great service and food. I would recommend it to anyone. The hogs ribs were nice and juicy.

Still my favorite restaurant in Cape Town. Consistently serves amazing food. The service is top notch and staff know just when to offer assistance and are always friendly. I also found managers are engaging with customers and constantly trying to improve on their service, I however believe there's very little that could be improved on.

We wanted to go here for awhile, but new it was a bit more pricy and was under the impression that it is overrated. How wrong were we!!<br/><br/>Yes, the steaks is a bit more pricy thank other restaurants but oh my word!!! We fell in love with the fillet we ate. It was soft and tasty and felt like heaven in my mouth. We only had steak this good at 2 other restaurants. We had a steak knife but sure you could have cut it with a normal knife.<br/><br/>Firstly, there is complimentary sweet potato chips on the table which is just delicious. The service was friendly and it felt like 5 min went by after ordering food and receiving it.<br/><br/>Secondly, the atmosphere is trendy and romantic and you feel comfortable in a room filled with strangers.<br/><br/>Thirdly, the food is great. We enjoyed the Italian tomato soup which was amazing and really filling for a starter ( I had it as a main). My hubby had the Hussar Carpetbagger - a fillet filled with smoked oysters and accompanied with an amazing mustard sauce. We shared both meals. He ordered the 200g but afterwards said we should have gotten the 300g - not because he was still hungry, but because it was that good.<br/><br/>For dessert we shared the cheesecake which my hubby really enjoyed. It was good but my favourite still is Pepenero's.

I had previously been to the Hussar in Green Point and it was underwhelming. We went to the Belville branch for lunch, and it was really impressive. I had salmon, the other guests all opted for meat, and it was all very very good! The service was attentive, friendly, and the waitress went out of her way to source wine of a particular vintage. The chocolate vodka dessert.......eish! SO delicious! I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Really good steak (with blue cheese sauce), and a sundae for dessert. Well presented and tasty. Service was good too. Excellent value for money.
