Beautiful place with a lovely beachy theme, we went during the week so it wasnt full. The food was great my family and I ordered different things and it was all tasty. The pool was clean and blue. Great experience would go there again.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. There was load shedding yet they were still able to make our food and it was good! The only thing is, with load shedding, they can’t make coffee. However, they informed us about it as we sat down and they quickly made our coffees. The staff were really friendly. As for the food, I really enjoyed my meal! I had a falafel gyro. It’s a nice place to go to if you want authentic Greek food and want to get out of your typical shopping Centre vibe.

Absolutely amazing! This place is such a hidden gem. We absolutely loved the Greek style food here. There Yiros are so delicious. The restaurant is beautiful inside and makes you feel like you're close to the beach. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was fast. Would highly recommend going here

I went there with a friend for brunch. The place has a secured parking lot with a controlled gate. Positives: The chicken yiro was really tasty and filling. The chicken was well-seasoned and tender and the other ingredients tasted fresh. The staffs were really friendly. Negatives: Their French toast tasted great, but a bit dense. Their fries weren't very crunchy. Our table was quite sticky, even after our waitress had wiped it down again. Overall, this was a good experience. It had a relaxing and vintage vibe. Their menu is expanding to sushi dishes soon.

Excellent service from our waiter who took good care of us during our brunch. Very vibey decor that makes you feel you are at an exotic location. Can’t wait to go back in summer to try the cocktails and the pool

I found a gem 💎 This place was beautiful we really felt like we at a beach holiday. The food was truly delicious 😋 the place is clean and the fire place just did it for us . There was a girls birthday party 🎉 thy had so much fun 😊 . The accommodation thy have there is simply beautiful 😍 i can't wait to stay there for a night or 2 . A stunning and potentially tranquil place. The music was very loud and the place got crowded. If you want to take it all in go during the week. The cocktails are delicious and the food is fresh and tasty.

The food was incredible, the service was top notch, and the restaurant was beautiful. They have a pool outside that you can swim in or just dip your toes it's like being at a very well catered pool party or a country club

Celebrated my brother's birthday here and what a lovely lunch we had. Beautiful location, sat by the pool in the fresh air. Really good service. Starters were various dips with pita bread, haloumi and zucchini fries. All tasted good. Main I had the beef yiro with haloumi. This was so delish, it came with chips inside the yiro which I found a bit much so just took them out and ate them separately, no problem! My parents had the lamb chops and they loved them and said it was a big portion. We had the baklava for dessert, tasted good but wasn't very fresh. All in all a pleasant experience.

Went to Fat Mermaid yesterday, you feel like you on a tropical island away from City Life .... what a beautiful place. We were a crowd of about 16 people only 3 kids. They were extremely busy so service was a little slow, however the waiter did apologize and explain to us from the start that food would take longer than we expected due to it being so busy. We went there for a relaxing afternoon and that’s exactly what we got. Food was delicious, management and staff did there best and were so friendly. Overall a very pleasant afternoon in the sun, good vibes and lovely staff. I will definitely be back.

My surprise birthday party was held there last Sunday. The best time was had by all thanks to the lovely people who served us. The food was excellent. Quality and quantity. Staff are friendly and effecient. Thanks so much for that. I loved the Big Fat Mermaid from the first time I had been there and I wished to have my big fat 70th Birthday Bash there. My dream came true. ����

We had an awesome experience at The FAT Mermaid Day Spa. The place was perfect for our small private function. Beautiful venue, friendly and prompt service, delicious and reasonably priced food, laid back atmosphere - just what we were looking for. Definitely recommending the place to more people and looking forward to our next visit

Although this venue is not well marked...it seems to be fairly popular. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere very relaxed. The food is very good and well worth the hassle of trying to find the place.

I had my 30th Birthday Party here yesterday 27th January. When we got there the area we had booked was unfortunately not ready due to a party that had gone over time. Feeling a bit annoyed in the beginning as I made this booking over 3 months ago in November. BUT Patrick I have to hand it to you. You are what makes The Fat Mermaid. You are an excellent Manager you had 8 waiters sort that area out in 5 minutes. You attended to all my needs you had my lunch done and on the table on time. You attended to all my needs. You apologised for things that were NOT your fault and for that I have a lot of respect for you. After settling all issues I found out there was no alcohol - after having to change my invite telling my guests to.not bring their own alcohol because your liquor licence was granted and promised me the bar would be fully stocked. I had to rush out and buy - not an issue for me but again Patrick apologised for something that was not his fault. I love the Venue and I absolutely love the food but in all honesty if it werent for Patrick I would not have had a enjoyable time as much as I did. Buddy you deserve a medal. Well done.

Visited The Fat Mermaid today and absolutely loved the atmosphere, vibe, surroundings, pool and the food was delicious ! Were were given exceptional service by Costa and the waiters �� I will definitely be back !

So totally disappointed with you guys. We where there in December (loved the place ,the vibe and the food), so decided to book my girlfriend's birthday party at your venue. Had long discussions with you guys regarding the exclusivity of the pool on the day (Feb 3), discussed menu options etc. Went back on Saturday to discuss the final details in more detail but the venue was so full that we couldn't talk to the event manager..We were also disappointed at the extreamly long wait for the food and quality of the food which we had to send back for not being fully cooked, but as always, the host was attentive. Called in today to confirm the booking and finalize details, to be now told that the venue is booked for "bigger parties"and that the pool will be very full on that day and "we will have to see where we can seat you" and that the pool is open to everyone therefore no exclusivity can be given for the party. This after we where given the grand tour in December, and shown where we will be seated and guaranteed exclusivity etc. Totally crushed as we love the venue. Invites have been done and sent, at a cost. We now have to cancel the party and look for an alternative venue at such short notice.. Doubt we will be back.

10.03.2019 I was initially intrigued by the name and the fact that it is a day spa, but you can also go and enjoy breakfast or lunch, and if needed, they have the facilities to host functions.<br/><br/>It’s situated off Van Buuren road, on a slighty hidden road. They have a kiddies area and a swimming pool, yes you read right, a pool where you can chill, which you need to pay for should you wish to use at a cost. Can't remember the pricing.<br/><br/>We were rather early, and ordered from the Breakfast menu, we didn’t look at the lunch menu but its predominantly greek food. I had the Greek Scramble, which was Scrambled Eggs with Feta, and I asked for Bacon on the side. My sister had the Zucchini Omelette, and our friend had the Salmon scramble with Avo and tomato. The food was ok, personally I found it a bit bland, and needed a bit of spices to elevate the taste.<br/><br/>To end off our breakfast we all ordered a Greek coffee, which was slightly disappointing as it just wasn't what we used to.<br/><br/>It’s got a chilled setup, and weekends seem to be very busy. The management and staff are all very friendly and helpful.
