What an tasty experience. The food were prepared to perfection and the staff was great and very friendly as you walk in. Plenty space to sit and not over crowded. Food is a bit pricey, but for the taste.....it’s worth it👍for this one

Beautiful restaurant 😍😍😍 The waiters and waitresses are just welcoming warm and kind. The atmosphere is beautiful. My sister and I organised a baby shower here, the restaurant was kind enough to allow it to happen. The FOOD The seafood category if I may put it that way loved it, for village girls that never had prawns they were prepared to perfection. From the starter to to main course it was so nice. We didn't need to wait for our waitress she was always here. Beautiful place would love to come back again

Wonderfully, relaxed family lunch at Plaka, Eastgate. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was good. We had the grilled Halloumi starter, Greek salad for the table, calamari, prawns, chicken slouvaki and whole peri baby chicken.

Love this place. I went back for lunch as i had recently won a voucher from them. Everything was absolutely delicious. Completely forgotten our waiters name, sorry but he was amazing. Actually all the staff are friendly welcoming and a pleasure to chat to. Food was cooked perfectly, my Cosmopolitan was just right. I ordered the Lamb Shank, the Chips cooked lekker crispy and the meat was proper fall off the bone - tender. My sister had the Prawn Saganaki, and my friend had the fish and chips. Even our starters (Dolmades, Kolokithakia, Spanakopita and Falafels) that we shared, could not be faulted. What a great restuarant. The food is always tasty and fresh.They have lunch specials from 12 to 4.Jack black lager on tag for the craft beer lovers.

Easily one of the best Greek restaurants I've been to. The staff are delightful and well-trained. I highly recommend their Musaka dish for mains. In general the food was outstanding. The kebabs, despite being fantastically cooked, were slightly pricey for the portion size. The restaurant is also ideal for kids, as there's a big jungle gym in the centre of the piazza.

The food was delicious and you can tell it is prepared with great care. The service is excellent and this restaurant certainly does deserve the 5 star rating I have given it. The atmosphere was very fresh and relaxing with smooth music (tho I would have enjoyed more Greek sounding music). They have very nice lunchtime specials. Thank you to the staff at plaka for making it a wonderful experience.

Makes the Best Yiros around! They were fresh, with great tasting filling and the rosemary chips were to die for. Ordered it, pretty much because it was the only cheaper thing on the menu, and because I am not Greek and don't understand what the other food is. This restaurant has amazingly well trained staff and the waiting skills are incomparable! (Like the good old days) had a lot of fun in this beautiful, trendy restaurant!

The food and service at Plaka is impeccable! There is so much love that goes into the preparation and presentation of the food as well as kindness that goes into serving it. My husband and I love this place! We feel like family every time we visit :)

The restaurant is nearly finished being renovated. The decor is elegant and aesthetically pleasing. The food was good, the service was quick and professional and the manager was lovely. If they keep it up, it will be a great place to spend a friday evening with friends.

Fantastic food. I've gone with Greek friends who say that there are a few errors with the translation of dishes on the menu but I was quite happy. Quality was great, authentic flavours. Prices are a bit steep but well worth it

Excellent food. Great ambiance. A bit pricey, but I suppose you pay for that these days, right??? Great service and good food should be expected and a standard for every restaurant, so why does a decent experience have to cost you theses days?

Lovely place. The waiters are helpful and will "translate" all the nice greek names into something that helps you make your choice. They're very patient and work with a smile. Baby seats available, disable friendly, plenty of vegerarian options. The food was awesome (adult portions 😊)

Gorgeous interior design, coupled with great service made enjoying an afternoon out at Plaka thoroughly enjoyable. The food is absolutely delicious and I'm hungry just thinking about the mouth watering food. This restaurant is delightful and the food is reasonably priced.

Squid head and crumbed mushroom starters were done well and seasoned excellently. Extremely filling portion size. The fillet main was grilled almost to perfection. However, the mash was dry and the lamb chop main was terribly tough.<br/><br/>I like that the menu consists of a wide variety of cuisines. The restaurant was cosily set up.<br/>I was however, taken aback by who ever answers the phones as I called through to make a reservation and the employee asked me what a reservation is. They had absolutely no idea what it meant.

I Have been there numerous times and the food and service are always consistent and great. The atmosphere is buzzing on the weekends with families, friends, couples. I haven’t gone there on weekdays so can’t comment. I noticed that the waiters also seem to keep working there which I think speaks to the management’s relationship with their staff.

In my opinion I feel that this place is very underrated. Every time I go to East Gate this is definitely the restaurant I choose. They have the best prego rolls under the sun. I at least crave them twice weekly. Also a very nice and intimate spot to have brunch with friends.

Montovani is nice but the service is really slow on Tuesdays because they are running one special and have 1 oven to make pizza.<br/><br/>The 2 for 1 special is good value for money but there definitely are better pizza out there. Not my favourite. <br/>

We had wine and wings so I can't really rate the food. The outdoor setup is really lovely and convenient for families as there's a kids play area near it. The service was okay but not to my satisfaction. Also had their cocktail but it had too much vodka in it, didn't enjoy it. Kept sending it back for the barista to do it properly but was still not impressed.

We came to Mantovani's with colleagues after a work related quarterly meeting that we had. We wanted to try a new place and we decided upon this restaurant.<br/><br/>I ordered the 300gram rump steak that came with chips and hot vegetables of pumpkin and spinach. The vegetables are worldclass don't remember the last time I enjoyed spinach and pumpkin like I did today.<br/><br/>The steak came out as I'd ordered it medium-to-well, *PERFECT*. <br/><br/>One of my colleagues had the oxtail and tge the portion was quite generous.<br/><br/>Overall I was impressed. Dominic our waiter also deserves a shoutout for excellent service to our table.

The food in general is good, but could all still be improved. The wraps could do with more sauce and their Panini's are extremely hard to cut and you have to eat it with your hands. The tomatoes were burnt and peppers overcooked, but didn't effect the meal too much. Their malva pudding is a must if you have an extremely sweet tooth!

The food was great, quite a few vegetarian options. Out of all the foods ordered the vegetarian wrap and the vegetarian panini was the best. It was an ordinary day for lunch. I must say service was okay but slightly slow. The Alfredo itself, I could have had more pasta options besides spaghetti and penne and it was pretty ordinary. This was pretty much an ordinary experience.

Warm, cozy dimmed lighting. Suitable for the whole family. Curry was full of flavour, spaghetti and lasagne were savory and satisfying. We will definitely go back for more food

Had Easter Sunday breakfast here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Cappuccinos were beyond fantastic! Every new order contained that delicious aroma and consistent creamy taste. Breakfasts were delicious and there was a wide variety. Happy to return!!

Fantastic service. Went to Mantovanis for breakfast before shopping. I Had the fruit and muesli bowl. My mother had a simple breakfast. Other food looked great. But the service is spot on.

Very much a typical shopping center restaurant. Not great - the food was very mediocre. The upside was the staff were friendly and pleasant.

Been there on two occasions thus far. Last ordered the baby chicken, good size portion. The meals were well presented and seasoned perfectly. Italian and Mediterranean options. The waiters were friendly. A good option when you want to try something different compared to the usual franchises in malls.

An average casual Italian restaurant establishment located in the food garden part of the shopping mall. It's a place for a quick bite of most Italian and Mediterranean type selection of cuisine with a fast food type preparation and flavor. <br/>Went for a quick margarita pizza with some added avo and chilies due to their lack of vegetarian type selection on menu. Pizza was just average and filled the gap.<br/><br/>In all service was good with very attentive staff but food and ambiance was nothing great that would make me a repeated patron. There's other restaurants in the mall that I would probably try before recycling.

For comfort food you cannot go wrong at Mantovanis, it is our favorite restaurant in Easgate with something for everyone. The Beef Ribs are out of this world. My son loves the Mediterranean steak and their Salads are gorgeous. The waiters have been there for donkeys years which says a lot. Thank you for your amazing food, cocktails, pizzas and everything else, it's our place to meet.

Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. Great for a cup of coffee after a shopping spree. <br/>Their mushroom on toast keeps bringing me back. If anybody is to have breakfast at Eastgate this is the place to be-provided you like mushrooms. <br/>I haven't really ordered anything else besides their mushroom toast but all in all a good place to visit in Eastgate.

Decided on something different and remember seeing Mantovani on one of my visits to Eastgate Mall. It's cold and I don't feel like cooking. So happy I decided to visit here. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Straight away the waiter told me about their Chicken and Mushroom Soup, music to my ears on this cold afternoon. By far one of the most delicious soups I have eaten. Fresh and pipping hot. Had to try their cocktail special, half price from 4 till 6 Everyday, now this makes it even better! <br/>Will most definitely be back!<br/>The only reason I didn't give them a 5, no bathroom close by, have to walk some way.

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. I gave this restaurant a rest for a while though so I could try others but I found myself sitting here again with my dad for some lunch after a long day of shopping. Really great food and excellent service.

Mantonvani's has been around for many years and is a lovely place to eat. The staff are very good and the service is generally good. However, my last two visits have not been great. The first time around I had a baked potato with spinach and feta and while it was very tasty, I got a mouthful of sand (yuck!!) with a bit of potato. Today I ordered a spanakopita and side salad. The salad was great, but the spanakopita was virtually impossible to cut through. I managed to eat he filling oozing out of the sides and then called for a steak knife. I was able to cut the Spanakopita in half with some sawing, but even the steak knife couldn't cut through the rest of the pastry. I was offered an alternative which I accepted, and on both occasions my complaints were handled in a courteous and dignified manner.  While I appreciate the way my complaints were handled, I am afraid I won't be back.

Popped in here for a quick lunch. We enjoyed sitting outside. My prawn and avo tramezinni could have done with more prawn (only had small prawn per tramezinni quarter) and my iced coffee was quite rich - more like a coffee milkshake. The service was also lacking a bit but it's worth a try if you're looking for a place with a good atmosphere to eat at Eastgate.

Was in Eastgate to watch an IMAX movie and decided to get dinner after. Lots of restaurants around but chose to try the non chain option as something new, and very glad we did. <br/>I had the Mr Plump ziva, a folded over flatbread with chicken, avo, feta and mozzarella which was delicious. The drinks are expensive but the food is good value for the portion size and there is a lot of variety on the menu. <br/>Next time I'm in Eastgate for a movie I won't mind returning.

I'm celebrating my birthday with my husband and everything has been incredible. Music is constantly playing without it being too loud that I can't hear myself speak. It has a relaxed and homey vibe. The service has been great, waitron is always attentive and available and the food came quickly. The starters were delicious, and the portions were larger than necessary. The mains were perfect, we had lamb shank and ribs, the meat literally fell off the bones, the chips were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The mashed potatoes is to die for. Very pleased with the restaurant.

Really good service and amazing flavors in their Mediterranean fillet dish. Haloumi cheese with olives, tomatoes and basil pesto are a steaks best friend along side some delicious and nutritious veggies. Definitely a winner.

Have been here quite a few time now and ordered different food every time.<br/>Whether its their cocktails or the burgers or even the chicken and prawn curry with rice, this place has never disappointed. Presentation of food is another parameter on which I would rate them high. Cheers !!

Went there on a whim.... the waitress at first was friendly and attentive but that didn't last long. Took ages to get a drink with the<br/> meal actually had to go inside myself to ask where it was along with the condiments. Steak was decent the chicken however was not as expected. Won't be in a rush to go back.

Piatto was closed for renovations and the waiters of Mantovani's are clever enough to come chat to you when you are standing reading the Piatto notice . So we gave them a try . <br/>Waiters are quick and friendly . <br/>Food was lovely , I ordered the Half Portion Pork Ribs which was delicious ! Meat was so tender it was pretty much falling off the bone . BF ordered the Bacon and Blue Cheese Fillet , minus the Bacon , and said it was some of the best fillet he has ever had . <br/>Too full for dessert , but will definitely be back to try !

This is a hidden gem. They're generally always pretty busy but I've never quite seen it packed, although it's a big restaurant (upstairs and downstairs in Eastgates outdoor food court). Their ribs and steak are legendary, service excellent and overall just hitting the mark. Been here a few times and never been disappointed with a meal. They have baklava ice cream which is really good!

In love the outdoor seating they offer. Prices are quite affordable. On Fridays, Eastgate Shopping Centre has live music on the rooftop which creates great ambience.

One of my favorite spots for a meal that feels like your eating in the comfort of your own home. HUGE portions and great value for money. The manager makes you feel so at home you can't not love this place. The menu is nothing too fancy but they have the basics and do them very well. Do not expect to be amazed but I can promise you that you will leave with a happy stomach.

Been a Mantovani's Customer for many years now, the ambience and atmosphere at the restaurant is always wonderful, the food is always great no matter what what you choose to eat and the staff are always helpful. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend no matter what the occasion.

There is something here for everyone from pizza and pasta to prawns and burgers. There are a few issues here with the menu for vegetarians as it can get a little limited if you don't substitute anything. For example there is no real vegetarian pizza (which is just odd) and the pastas are far a few. If you build your own vegetarian pizza the meal itself is of a good standard - it is quite hard to mess up a pizza.<br/><br/>Please note that during the week they do have the pizza on special which is really worth it. There are not many restaurants that offer Mac and Cheese and this is probably one of the better preparations around which is with ordering.<br/><br/>The ambiance at Mantovani's is very cafe like and modern. The food is consistent and better than most of the other restaurants in Eastage however the service does need some work from management and when trying to get someone's attention. The waiters and waitresses though are very friendly and happy to assist.

Lunch time after shopping with the kids means a great meal here. Fish,chicken wrap and chicken nuggets were today's go to meal for us. Service friendly and food is always great. Smoothies are excellent and worth a try. Highly recomended

Been a regular for years. WOW you guys get it right every time. Had the chicken trinchado again. Great as usual. from the familiar waiters to the new color scheme I would recommend Mantos every time. I simply love this place. Now I know why they are always the busiest on the square at Eastgate.

Only been to Mantovani's a few times and what I can say is that it's especially great in the Summer. Their killer prawn curry will have you back there for more of their delicious dishes. (A personal fave). It's just a great place to sit down with friends. @Reason

One of the restaurants in the piazza at eastgate shopping centre. It is however lack lustre offering only average service and food. The decor isn't very inspiring. Possibly worth a stop over on a busy shopping day, but there are probably better places in the mall. Give it a miss.

This is one of the most underrated restaurants around. Been going here for what must close on 30 years. Food is always amazing. Love the chicken saltimbocca, Thai green chicken prawn curry and lastly the grilled hake. Portions are huge. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Lovely food and drinks! Their cocktails are amazing. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that they used to have amazing vegetable lasagne that they took away :(

The first thing I enquired about when I got to this place was what their specialty was and the waiter didn't do well in advertising that the joint was Italian as per its name. The service was a tad slow and the Fantini coffee left much to be desired. The meal however salvaged the day.

Not much to compliment on from slow service, cutlery not arriving and then only one serviette among two people. After asking twice, we finally got more. The food doesn't equate the price. I'm never happy if I ask for crispy bacon and the order is overlooked!

Went to Mantovani's for a quick bite and ordered 2 chicken prego's, both were over cooked and dry. Not a good meal. Although the cappuccinos we had were really good.

This is a rather late review but I must admit it was worth it. I have been on an interesting journey for the last 16 months where I have lost over 30kg in weight so I have to watch what I eat. So yes I am indeed a fussy eater and rightfully so as I want to leave the weight off. Anyhow P demanded that I have to go to Eastgate to get something, now I loathe shopping, I would rather have my arm hears waxed than go shopping. Anyhow I thought I would reward myself with a good wholesome meal for all my hard efforts.<br/><br/>I trotted up and down the selection of shops, feet exhausted - I stopped at the entrance of Mantovani's and asked if they do any grilled chicken breasts without skin and basic salads - the waiter said no but he will speak to the chef and they will make a plan for me. I thought BIIIIIIIIIG UPS ON YOU FRIEND. <br/>They found me a chair, very comfortable I must admit. I was surrounded by hungry people who were devouring their meals - some were merrily sipping on drinks while others were just paying attention to their friends in an intense conversation. So yes the atmosphere was relaxed and exciting. My huge glass of water with ice and lemon arrived with my coke zero, and minutes later my meal.. this delicious chicken breast with garden salad which was heaven on a plate - yes it sounded so plain but as I was in the middle of my diet it was brilliant, and trust me it was... so big ups on them for going that extra mile for making be happy. This is indeed a place I will go back and heck if I have to meet friends at Eastgate; this would be the venue.. Thank you Mantovani and well done

What a fantastic choice for celebrating my dads 74th birthday! I booked a table for 6 and shortly after arrival the manager came to check up on us to see who i was and if everything was ok.<br/><br/>Our waiter was friendly and the service was great. Starters i ordered the snails which were divine the sauce was amazing and they gave a soft roll with it instead of the usual dry pieces of brown bread. My sister had the button mushrooms with tartar sauce and my brother had the haloumi so we kinda shared and picked off each others starters.<br/><br/>For mains i decided not to go for my usual fillet steak and had the gamberi spaghetti - prawns with chilli garlic olive oil and sliced olives. The olives were not over powering and the flavours were just right. Dad had the lamb kleftico and the meat was tender. Mom had the hake thermido, hake with a prawn and cheese sauce. Aunt had the sticky pork chops which were also juicy and spiced just right, bro had the seafood platter and last but not least my sister had the veg platter - spinach feta pie with baked potato and veg.<br/><br/>Dessert. Each item that we ordered was beautifully presented and made you want to eat the whole thing. We were completely stuffed after having a combination of the lemon meringue, peppermint pudding and volcano desserts.<br/>The only complaint i have is that the corner we were seated in was very hot and no air flow, a fan wouldve been nice.<br/><br/>But it was a lovely afternoon. Great staff and great service and awesome tasty food. Thank you!

The ciabatta salmon sandwich is delicious here. The waiters are all very friendly and know the menu well. The trio of burgers is great too. The coffees are good and the general atmosphere and decor is great.

We visited Mantovanis last night. It was probably the busiest restaurant in Eastgate. Nelsons service was excellent. He really knew the menu well and recommended some awesome meals. I had the 600G prime rib which was on their specials board and my partner had Kingklip. Both meals were delicious.<br/>Cheesecake to share afterwards rounded of a very enjoyable meal.

We did a midweek visit to the restaurant and I have to admit, the atmosphere was extremely poor, the staff were loud and noisy at the entrance and pay no attention to the patrons. The food was absolutely awful and there were more peanuts in the wrap than chicken. I will never return...if you are about quality..rethink this one

The service is pretty bad. Sat there for five minutes before even placing a drinks order and the food was bland along with the most gristly steak I have ever had in a restaurant.
