Great as always! Everything that you'd expect from a good Ocean Basket 🐟🧺 We went at a quiet time (a weekday late afternoon). My (basic) go-tos: ♡Lemon-Garlic butter Mussels & chips (decent oven-baked frozen chips; soaks up the sauce well!) ☆Tuna California rolls

Absolutely loved it. The staff were on the ball and the manager as well. Had our very busy 2 year old with us and the staff kept her occupied and happy for the meal.

Was absolutely blown away by the food and atmosphere at this Ocean Basket! Franz is an outstanding manager , very friendly! Was definitely a great visit back to Ocean Basket after some time and will definitely be returning ASAP!

We received such amazing service at Ocean Basket Bedford Village. The food was also delicious! Frans is such an amazing manager. Give this place a 10/10 and highly recommend it.

Ocean basket is my go to comfort meal. Bedford Village has an amazing view of the Joburg skyline, which is even better at sunset.

Listen, this place has great food, no complaints about the service. It was a great experience. I would just like to request some music for a vibe baby, that's all you missing 🎶😊😏

We were there on the 31/12/2016 at the V&A in Capetown to celebrate new year. We didnt get any Restaurants cos they all required bookings for not less then R900.(way above our budgets).Just on the verge of giving up we saw Oceans basket and although we had to stand in line the meals were worth every minute of waiting. Friendly staff as well. NB: be careful with the Toilette floor.

Amazing place to have sea food in South Africa. It's a chain of restaurants, but the platters are nice. The hot breads with chilly and garlic taste awesome. Have a great time ahead

I have eaten at this Ocean Basket multiple times. My favorite is most definitely the Kingklip and their calamari. However, I do not like their sushi at all, too much rice and too little salmon.

One of the quieter OB's. I'm happy to report that a few single meals still exist even though their focus is on platters and quantity. Although the staff are friendly the food took almost forever to come. Food from OB is quick in general but the same can't be said for this one. Once it arrived it really was up to the standard that everyone's come to love. If you're in a hurry this is not the place.

Your typical franchise outlet that delivers consistency, nothing special but the food is good. Venue is clean and safe. Don't expect any surprises you get what you pay for.

The good thing about going to eat at this establishment is that they managed to keep a high standatd. Great place for a quick fish and chips for R54.00. Cant beat this price for a sit down meal.<br/>The staff is always attentive and helpful.

A manager that makes sure he visits every table, waitrons are very well trained even when in training they on the ball, food is brilliant and very well made and comes very quickly. Looking for a nice place for a decent meal but not to formal, be sure to make a stop

My Mother and I Went to Ocean Basket Bedfordview for lunch Last Monday 16/05. Was around 1pm and the place had 2 other tables and at least 6 waiters standing around. While I can understand it being quite, most the restaurants around where relatively dead. We where greeted as we reached half way through the restaurant, and seated. Our waitress started to serve with a little interest, but will give her some positive, she knew her menu. We ordered the platter for 1, which we shared and was actually a bit to much. The variety was good, however the prawns where a bit to overcooked and the mussel sauce overpowering with garlic. On reaching to get something off the platter my mother knocked her drink all over herself. We tried as best we could to dry dry her up with the 3 serviettes we had. NO interest or aid of help from the waiters standing against the wall chatting away. After waving my arms for about 20 seconds, eventually got the attention of a waitress who made her way to us in her own time. I asked for the bill and for some serviettes to help clean up the liquid. She picked up the glass and the plate and went off. 5 Minutes later returning with our doggie bag and the bill, still no serviettes. I now understand why there where not many customers there. Atmosphere 1/5, Food 3/5, Service 2/5 (purely because she knew her menu) , Cleanliness 3/5<br/>Would I go back???? Hmmmmm never.

Ocean Basket Bedfordview - the smell when we walked in should have turned us away.  Suspect, fishy and not inviting!!<br/>Waiter was inattentive and uninterested.  I opted for the fish, calamari and chips served in a pan.  The pan was obviously placed on a hot burner so the bottom of the fish was blackened where it burnt to the pan.  Chips were stale.  They are cheap and nasty - we wont be returning.

Very good, friendly service. Those that had fish dishes at our table were happy with their food. The Sushi was very dry and going by previous comments, it has been that way for a while. <br/><br/>Overall - good value for money quick fish meal but don't expect much from the Sushi.

3 types of Calamari is probably the best choice on this franchise menu. The food is fair but the dessert menu isn't up to scratch. Great for a quick meal though.

Waiter was attentive and polite. The food was not that great as compared to other ocean baskets. For some reason our food was exceptionally salty and cold. The highlight of the meal was their homade lemonade.

The manager welcomes his patriants with a friendly smile, giving you a good reason to walk inside. The staff service is fantastic. The fish is cooked to perfection. Always a pleasure to eat there.

we went for a Team Lunch and we were served by a waitress called Eunice. she was on the phone the whole time messing orders and grumpy. Service sucks otherwise the food is fantastic! you will lose customers because of that waitress!! Get rid of her!!!

Your usual franchise with good selection of seafood.  Very good value for money if you looking for a seafood platter.  Comfortable restaurant with a great view if you sit closer to the windows.  Good seafood and good service.

Exactly what you expect, nice place for a quick seafood bite, had some Fresh wild oysters and their grill pangasius fish is always very tasty

Ocean basket has been one of my families favorite restaurants for ages. The brand is an affordable and tasty option to eating out. the menu hold a vast range of seafood from sushi, to mussels to prawns to hake to salmon. The menu constantly updates and changes according to which outlet you go to. It's all yummy and really affordable. This outlet is one of our go to Ocean Baskets, as it has a great vibe to it and the service is good, however there is always room for improvement.

Went here for a quick dinner after work, and for it being a Wednesday it was full, since it is winter they had the heaters on which was nice. <br/>Our waiter was friendly and service was good. I ordered sushi since I'm not a big fish lover, the sushi isn't the greatest it is very dry and you have to use a lot of soy sauce. Everyone else was happy with their fish orders. <br/>I would recommend it for a quick meal when you craving fish but wouldn't come here if I felt like sushi.

Considering it was Father's Day and the restaurant was packed, and we were a very big table of 19... Service was great and the food was fantastic! Always good value for money. 1 point off for a few bones in the hake and the fact that the table seating was for 1 person less than we booked for .

I do love ocean basket! Such reasonably priced seafood and I've never had a bad meal! The staff at this branch are so friendly and efficient so it's great! The calamari and prawns are always a win! And I love the side salads- no lettuce, it's great!!

I love the Ocean Basket franchise - but must say the one in Bedfordview disappoints. Two days ago we went back - the fish was so salty and as always the vegetables very disappointing. They really do not know how to make creamed spinach - it always tastes like porridge and the butternut so bland. They really do not have well trained cooks.

Ocean Basket has lost the leverage it had in food industry. Been back there on more on one occasion just to be dissapointed. The Sushi always falls apart and disguisted when I watched them prepare it. In general the portion sizes are getting smaller and the wort of all is the service. Lesson here is to stay away.

I love eating fish and Sushi??? Well let's just say that I think it's one of the finer things in life. So by now I've eaten countless times at Ocean Basket. But let's just say that this past weekend I had the most unpleasant experience of watching the chefs prepare the sushi I had ordered!! I was disgusted beyond belief! No care with bare hands just squashing up the water out of the ginger that was casually thrown into some obscure Tupperware container! Wasabi grossly handled with fingers... Gross.com! So I absolutely know that all food is prepared by naked hand... But surely one can deal with the wasabi and ginger with utensils! And that's not all, usually sushi is prepared skilfully with care and precision! Here things were just getting thrown together! All I can is eeewe!!! :-( ... Needless to say the sushi is sitting in my refrigerator ... Uneaten! Will I ever look sushi the same? But lesson learned! My recommendation - only order sushi from authentic Japanese restaurants!

Decent service and the exact standard of food you'd expect from a chain. Nothing particularly good or bad about it. The service could've been more enthusiastic though.

We had a wonderful evening at Ocean Basket tonight. The food was quick and delicious; the atmosphere was relaxed; the view from the open balcony windows of Johannesburg was beautiful and our waitress Thembie was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back.
