I was privileged to spend two days at the Karoo Art Hotel when we had a conference there. It was a wonderful experience. Without exception the staff were friendly and eager to help with whatever you need.
The food was great. I especially enjoyed the "Riel Dancers" that was arranged as entertainment for us. They were so energetic!
I will certainly return when I have the opportunity.
Loved it. So calm cosy homely comfy.... fires going everywhere so it was warm. Large old rooms all done up individually. Service was absolutely amazing from guy who checked fires to barman reception and restaurant. Honestly they exceeded my expectations and as an ex hotelier that is not easy to do...

We just finished a 2 week visit to South Africa from Florida. We pre-booked every night, except the night we spent at the Art Hotel and are we glad we did!!! This place is amazing. We were the only guests mid week, so had plenty of attention from the excellent well trained, knowledgeable staff! Although the restaurant wasn't open for dinner, they suggested the steakhouse across the street and dinner was divine! We did completely enjoy our made-to-order breakfast that was included in our rate! We bought 6 small oil paintings created by a young local artist. They are our favorite souvenirs of our trip. The beds were soooo comfy, we wanted to take them with us! Our night in the Art Hotel was the only night we were warm enough because of the electric heating pads and the space heater provided. We slept like angels. Thank you so much for paying attention to every detail, it counts and we noticed and appreciated all the effort!! Will count the days until we can return! Oh, and our 18 year old son never wanted to leave since he had great WiFi service!!

Incredibly atmospheric, aesthetically pleasing, terrific fusion between excellent cuisine, lovely art and the rich heritage of its people. Absolutely charming, a beautiful and unique experience.

We spent a night at the hotel. The staff are friendly and we had a lovely eisbein the evening. If you are an art collector a visit to the hotel is a must.
