The food was fantastic! Haven't had such a good burger in a while. The gourmet shakes are mouth watering. Service was great and quite fast, regarding how busy the place was. Real 60's diner style decor, with a South African twist. It's a wonderful addition to Barrydale and a MUST visit, great for children and older folks alike. Great food for a good price. I'd definitely head there again.
WOW...., being such a fan of programs such as "Diners Drive inns and Dives" & American Pickers for some time, and then this was beter than I could have hoped for. The decor was quite spectacular and the food did not disappoint. The plain, no frill no fuzz beef burger with gouda & chips, accompanied by a Chocolate Brownie milkshake was superb. The banana waffle with cream & ice cream was to doe for.....will definitely take the rest of my kids to join in this feast when we travel on Route 62 again!

Great place. Decor was Class, love the old school rustic! Arcadea that reminded me of my youth. Food was presented lovely with food to match. Licked plates clean. Service great!!! Would deff recommend.
The best and biggest portion of lamb curry I have ever had. With a side salad as well!
Unique and cool place in Berrydale. Unfortunately the diner was closed for dinner, but the breakfast was fantastic! Worth a stop on your Route 62 drive.

What a fun and amazing place. Stalked this place for months on Facebook and finally had the chance to stop there on my way to Hermanus.
Food was great and the milkshakes was out of this world.
I was definitely not disappointed.

It was our first time visiting Diesel and Crème, and we LOVED it!!! Fantastic food (we recommend the Gas Monkey Burger), out of this world gourmet milkshakes. The decor keeps you busy for ages, loved it!!! Service great!! we'll DEFINITELY be back ∆

The food is also good and the venue is nice, lots of "golden oldies" and memorable knickknacks.
The parking can be problematic when they are really busy, but worth searching and a short walk!
We stopped here on our way to Oudtshoorn; as this place was frequently mentioned online as a good place to go to in Barrydale.
The location is absolutely gorgeous. This is the kind of place where you regret after, that its not something you have close by to be able to visit more frequently.
The vintage style decorations are super nice, even the toilets are spotless clean and have vintage style windows.
Food and milkshakes were great. The staff / owners were extremely attentive and very very friendly. We would have loved to stay longer.

We drove through specifically for the food and we’re in for a surprise. The milkshakes were extra potions and divine. The look and feel is a step in time,neon lighting ,beer bottles from past ages, pump stations from the day. I enjoyed have a meal there . Would recommend drive to experience it for yourself
The restaurant’s decor is fascinating and will keep you entertained while you enjoy your afternoon there. Fancy yourself drinking a helluva good milkshake while sitting on a barber chair with a phenomenal view? This is the place😉 we didn’t have food, but it smelt super lekker.

What a great place to visit! As you drive through the town of Barrydale look out for Diesel & Crème on the side of the Route 62 road. Step into an eclectic world that has been carefully curated in such a way to ensure both visual stimulation as well as a comfortable environment. The food is excellent. It is well presented and caters for the discerning traveller. One can choose between seating inside and outside. Should the weather allow sit outside and breathe in the Karoo air. Staff is friendly and helpful at all times.
Had lunch on a Diesel Beef burger, was great. Also had an espresso milkshake, chosen from a wide range of fantastic shakes! Lovely staff, friendly service and an eclectic restaurant reflecting the name very well. Nice wood fires so although the weather was blustery and cold it was comfortable indoors. A must stop on the famous R62!
Must visit!! Treat yourself with excellent burgers and even better milkshakes. Let the kids play around, enjoy the creative decor, some very rare and special finds that decorate the restaurant inside and outside. Great service, good food, and friendly staff.
Still my go-to place, just because of it's rustic loook. Used to go for the milkshakes, but wasn't impressed the last time. It was more an ice-cream than a milkshake, and they took away the witty names, like "Cruella de Ville Milkshake" etc. Don't really liked the idea of having to order your food at the bar. Would prefer to be served at the table, but I guess they have a good reason for that. Staff were very friendly
Amazing little gem. Stayed in the larger room - double bedroom and single bed in lounge. Beautifully decorated, spacious, funky, well priced. Will visit again for sure!
