Great service, excellent food, good value for money spent, sushi was fresh, very good as was the chinese noodle and rice dishes, nice play area for young kids while waiting.....

Been getting takeaway once a month. Chef is Asian, food is great and always fast. Crispy pork and Bok Choi on the menu please!

Great place! Had my first Sushi encounter there and it was an out of this world experience. The staff were very nice and the service was great.

Really enjoy Xing Ye but tonight staff seemed upset and just wasn't pleasant. Will continue to support Xing ye but was a little sad about the attitude.

If you like Chinese food you cannot go wrong here. Whether your favourite is sweet and sour pork, beef chow mein or beef chop suey (my favourite), it is delicious. Safe environment for kids as well. Well worth trying!

Good fast chinese food, not sure of the authenticity but the food still tastes good. I suggest eating there so you eat your food hot, fresh and crispy when its meant to be as opposed to getting takeaway. Sushi is really good and the portion sizes are fair as well. Really good prices for the food as well.

The sushi is great and affordable but the need to expand their menu a bit and have more creative sushi bar they only had basic sushi menu... I love their spring rolls and dumplings!! sooo good! <br/><br/>The staff is a bit of a let down. We waited to be helped for almost 15min till I asked if someone could help me and give me a menu to order from. I doubt the staff is trained.

A restaurant with good Chinese food and great sushi but the wait for an order to arrive is too long. The restaurant was small but has since moved a few shops over and been re-vamped.

I've been here a number of times. The owner and his partner are very friendly and very quiet. The staff are rather slack, & also don't always seem to understand that they can bring the food as it's ready! They are not trained, and you have to just about stand on tbe table to get your bill. The food is good but not fantastic. The Sushi is excellent, but like with most Chinese restaurants, no ambience whatsoever! Some decor to create atmosphere & good background music would go a long way to getting more patrons into the restaurant. Love the free Fortune Cookie, if you ask for one, when you leave! !!

A little family owned gem and you can taste the care.<br/>The only thing you may complain about is the "long wait" for food. I've never sat down and ate at the restaurant but my experience with the take always has been really pleasant.<br/><br/>I usually order the sushi and spring rolls ( I've had the chow mein and fried rice meals too). The spring rolls are everything they come with a little sweet/sour sauce that completes the deliciously crispy spring rolls.<br/><br/>The sushi is also great - I find the menu a little limited, things could be a bit more imaginative. For your basic California rolls, Maki etc the sushi is quite good.

We waited 30 minutes for service, after calling for the waitress, waiting at the bar for a drink, getting our own menu, eventually after not even being recognized we left! We read the reviews about the sushi being good and decently priced but we did not even have the chance to try it! I have never had such horrific service!

Xing Ye is in major need of improvement.  Not the food, mind you.  The food is excellent, very fresh.  Good quality sushi and Chinese dishes done very well.  But the problem here lies in the fact that there appears to be little to no communication between the kitchen and the front of the house.  Ordered duck and it took 20 minutes to find out that they didn't have any.  Ordered soup as well and half an hour later, we called over the waitress.  She went to see what was going on only to discover that they had no soup (And the mains were waiting there until the soup was finished, what????).  Owner doesn't seem all that involved so waiting staff is overwhelmed.At this stage, Xing Ye appears to be the only Chinese restaurant in Ballito, but Chinese cuisine deserves more respect than that.  I'd like to see it succeed but how can it if the communication within the restaurant is so poor?  I hope they will improve it, because this place has a lot of potential.If I see reviews to the effect that they have improved I'd be happy to go back and re-assess.

Great value for money and fantastic food...both the sushi and Chinese. Restaurant is small but as Chinese restaurants go, great to eat in, and good for takeouts. Service is however slit your wrists slow but at least friendly. Family run and they do a brilliant job with the food, just not managing. Definitely the place to go for Chinese food and sushi if you are in Ballito. Been here a many times and have only had great meals, even if service is hit or miss. 2 for service. 4.5 for the food

The food is really tasty and keeps you coming back. From sushi, soups and more traditional dishes you have an array of choices. The decor & ambiance leaves much to be admired and the service is ... Well .... let's just say don't be in a hurry. We take our own wine and merely pay for corkage.

I've been wanting to visit this place for a while, finally got to go. The food doesn't get anymore authentic than what I got.<br/><br/>The spring rolls where my favourite and the lovely owner taught me how to use chopsticks LOL.<br/><br/>And how can I forget the wine served hot in a tiny glass, hahaha so potent and thank goodness I wasn't driving.<br/><br/>Overall great experience and lovely food and service.

Ballito doesn't offer much choice when it comes to traditional Chinese food, but that's ok, because, Xing Ye. <br/><br/>You don't actually need any other options cause the food is THAT good. It's your traditional Chinese restaurant with one waiter, the lady who can't speak engrish at the till and the husband cooking the good food in the kitchen. <br/><br/>Every time we have been here we have not been disappointed and the food has been amazing. The prices are not bad either and the sushi is apparently also pretty good. Highlights have been the sweet and sour pork, chicken with cashew nuts and the newly discovered spicy calamari in black bean sauce! <br/><br/>All in all a good choice for those moments you tired of the traditional pizza, steak and burgers you get everywhere else!

Delicious and fresh !! Highly recommend both the sushi and the authentic Chinese food ... Sushi was fresh and rice light and delicate... Veg chow mein and spring rolls a must !
