Found Marietjies pub in this little town called Baardskeerdersbos directly translated Beardtornbush. Even though we did not have anything to eat it was just nice have a chat to the staff and browsing around. The owner is Marietjie who allows people from the community to sell their beautiful unique handcrafts like crochet blankets and toys, dream catchers, macrame bags, paintings and even some fresh vegetables in her shop. Please stop and support the community.
A must visit when you are in the area. Breakfast is amazing. Overall the food is delicious!
Lovely staff member who served us at the bar then served us at our table for brunch. An all-rounder staff member. Wonderful and on the ball. Good service.
The breakfast at Marietjies pub is certainly worth trying. This is almost a central attraction to this town. A lovely farm shop to cater for many of your needs is only one aspect of this "shop". It also have a pub and open grass at the back. Centrally located in the main street of the town. Lovely people. Great service. Value for money. Definitely worth a visit.
February 2023 - Stopped in at Baardskeerdersbos at Marietjie’s Restaurant – starving. Loadshedding, but we ordered 2 x tomato, cheese and onion toasted sandwiches on white bread with chips – delicious!!!!
This restaurant has an outside area under the trees - and 3 inside areas. Part of the restaurant is a shop - you can buy baked rusks, cookies, jams, sweets, fudge, etc!!!!
Do pop in!! Apparently their main breakfast is a must order.
Wow!! An awesome breakfast and great outdoor eating area. The chips were the best I have ever had! And the biggest breakfast platter that served all five of us.... and we were well satisfied! If you are in Baardskeerdersbos it's a great place to visit!
Doesn't look like much on outside but wow the food is amazing. Whatever you have, add the garlic sause. Devine.

If you travel past Gaansbaai all the way to Baardskeerders bos, you will find this unique little place. It's got a lot of character. Food is good and generous portions.
