While eating in a car isnt for everyone this is an interesting experience. Sunday lunch was yum, on a lap, in a car, in the rain. You could well be back in the 90's or at a drive in. Its old school with some charm, the food is big, tasty, simple and honest. Served with a smile onto the window- tray! I took someone who had never been to a roadhouse, and it was a fun, retro experience. Prices are very reasonable, the portions are gargantuan and the place was crazy busy when we were there, people in the cars ranging in age from 18 - 80 and thats always a charm. Word of warning: the menu is huge, so if you have a ditherer make sure they narrow their choices before you arrive!
If you're a saucy chips person you have to try them! They are delicious! A little expensive but so worth it! Their milkshakes are also really good, made with real ice cream. Haven't really eaten food from there in a while but their food is usually fresh and tasty, always friendly service when I go
I was very impressed with this roadhouse. Stopped there on a Friday evening just before midnight, we were served quickly. Food was fresh! I had a pizza and on a previous occasion I had a burger, both were well prepared and I can definitely recommend it!
Growing up my dad would take us to this roadhouse because he just couldn't get enough of their dagwood. This was my first roadhouse experience so I guess it will always be my best because as I've grown up, I've liked roadhouses less and less and I can't even remember when last I visited one.
Best family moments at this establishment, I'm not surprised that even after so many years it still remains quite popular among patrons of Alberton City and Alberton Mall.

My whole family has been buying here since we were kids. my sister still gets her dinner here every now and than so we are serious dedicated patrons. At one stage I must admit they had the best burger I ever tasted but as I grew older and tried other places the award went elsewhere but if you in the neighbourhood and want a freaking amazing burger and coke .. This is your place.. its a typical roadhouse where you park there and just roll down your window they bring a tray of your food and plank it on the side of your car.
as I mentioned their burgers are really great, their dagwoods are brilliant (that is P's absolute favorite!!!!!!) their curry and rice is amazing, they fried chicken is great and their spaghetti bologneise is fantastic. If you driving around on a hot summers day, try their shakes. Over the last few years they have introduced Sunday dinners, haven't tried it but I heard it's good. Their chips (fries) are good too.. especially when they warm and you add salt and vinegar.. that twang is just right...
I love Casbah’s new location just opposite the way from the old location.It feel safer and is well lit neat and clean.
What I love is that I can stay inside my car and the waiter comes up to my window and takes my order.
The food then gets brought to my window and is hooked onto the window with a tray. I’m not sure what happens when it rains but it didn’t rain when I stopped by.
The waiters are attentive and friendly and the food doesn’t taste mass produced. The strawberry milkshake is to die for. Nice and chilled for a hot Joburg Summers Day.
The portion sizes are great value for money.
I would recommend Casbah to my friends and family.
We went to casbah in Alberton this morning. I ordered the King Casbah. What a beast of a burger!! So damn delicious!!
I don't normally order burgers but I had a craving for something greasy and this just beat my expectations! Compliments!!
Nice food. Nice Music. Found the waiters and facility to be much clean and neat. As usual the food was great. Love the bacon and cheese burger toasted with Chill sauce!
Loved the food , as a teenager in the 70's we used to enjoy sitting in the cinema and enjoy a great curry burger and strawberry milkshake. Those were the good old days.
Great food, love the idea that you have week day carvery's. Also love your curry & rice, we come all the way from Boksburg to order it, Yummy!! Can't wait for the new revamp!
Casbah Roadhouse is one of the oldest of it's kind that welcomed African clients, deep in the apartheid era. It was it and Dairy Den at the old Uncle Charlies', as you entered Soweto. It has moved to this new complex that houses other eateries. It sells good, clean food and is easily accessible. It has not lost any of it's previous hospitality and good service.
I visited my friend Johan at the Casba today. Johan compliments to you and your staff for excellent service and best quality food I have enjoyed in a long time. You deliver top service and deserve 5 star rating.

Great experience and a fantastic local restaurant. Casbah boasts some of the best food this side of Johannesburg as well as delightful beverages and good service. A place to make worthwhile memories.
