Carpaccio / oysters both delicious - for mains the steaks never fail. Going to try the sushi next time I think for a change. Sadly never been impressed by their desserts.
I've been eating at the Promise Grill & Seafood for years and it seems like their food gets better each time I go there. Their ribs are most definitely to die for, yes it's fine dining but don't be ashamed to like those fingers once you're done.
Great ambiance and decor. Simple flavours prepared and served well. Fresh sushi and great cocktails. The Bushmills ice tea is a must.

Tuesday all you can eat sushi for R130 definitely worth it. The sushi looked and tasted amazing. I highly recommend the crispy California rolls they are amazing
If you are looking for a traditional grill house with all the trimmings, look no further! It is a rather spacious restaurant with multiple seating options for any occasion. Spatially it is light and open, but aesthetically it boasts dark hues. I must just add that if you are a sushi fanatic, you must feast your eyes on their sushi station that is nestled right by the front door.
As I was there for an early supper, I decided to try their chicken cordon bleu. If you are not in the mood for chicken, you can order it as a beef or pork cordon bleu. It was smothered with the thickest and richest mushroom sauce. It was stuffed with oozing cheese and smokey ham. As my side, I offered fries and summer veg. Overall, it was a winning dish!

Great atmosphere and great service. We recently had a few drinks and some snacks in the pub section. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed our evening. We both had a few draughts (ice cold and perfectly poured each time) and shared crumbed mushrooms (I would recommend this). The only downside would be that it gets a bit rough at times- we witnessed a fight break out in the bar.
Have been lately coming here for drinks, always packed. This explains the fantastic hospitality and the friendly staff. We have been coming here for years and still see the same staff. Clearly the staff are looked after... classic selection of wines and exceptional steaks. Good value foe money.
I really liked this place. We ordered the prawns and calamari(the portions are huge) and I have to say, best prawns I have had in years!!! Yum!! Thanks for that! We were seated in the bar area, so Friday nights can be quite noisy. But we were in that type of vibe, so it's quite lekke.
We enjoyed a afternoon meal with good friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, well prepared and tastey. The wait staff were attentive and allowed us the time to enjoy the company. To make it a 5, the beers need to be colder. Draught beers were cool but need to be served colder. Sadly out of stock of the cheese cake. Will most certainly return.

My experience of the Promise Grill may be somewhat different from many others as I attended a private function here for a 60th birthday.
Unfortunately I was unable to get a feel for the restaurants ambience as we were seated separately in what looked like the restaurants conference room.
Ambience and all that aside I really enjoyed the food here. I ordered their Chourico starter which was served in true style engulfed in flames on a very entertaining pig shaped bowl.
My starter was followed by an absolutely delicious Lamb Shank accompanied by some perfectly cooked vegetables and a sizable portion of fries. The meat was tender and flavourful and the gravy complimented the dish greatly.
For dessert I opted for the peppermint crisp tart. Their take on the conventional tart was very interesting and enjoyable. It was smooth and creamy with a delightful crunch and the flavours were well balanced.
All the waiters who served us were very polite and helpful and we had no issues at all with our orders which was great to see. The manager and owner of the place is also very friendly and hands on which is greatly reflected in the running of this establishment.
I'll definitely come back here if I'm in the area again to try some more of their specials and desserts.
Promise Grill is one of my favourite restaurants to go to. They have been in Alberton since I can remember. Our family goes there a lot. They have a big variety of food, from Sushi and seafood to pasta and steaks. You get value for your money.
On Tuesdays they have all you can eat sushi, I recommend that you book because you wait long for the sushi to be prepared.
On Saturdays they have half price sushi and cocktails, which is a bargain because I am still a student.
Their sushi is always fresh and tasteful.

The Promise Grill is my family's choice of restaurant to celebrate birthdays and achievements. The portions are worth every penny and the food is so well made. Have never been disappointed and will continue to support this restaurant!
All you can eat sushi on Tuesday takes a while so be sure to order enough to keep you eating for a while. I've been a few times and always come back for the prom ribs. Generous enough to eat with a knife and fork or devour with hands... The other half always opts for the gentleman's platter which has run, prawn and calamari- come hungry. Vibe is always great and that of a busy bistro. The service is always great and the waiters remember your face and treat you with warmth. One of my favorites.
This was the restaurant that my boyfriend took me to right after we got back together almost three years ago. It must have been our lucky charm coz we've made it work third time around. I recently went back with my cousins and had a great time. Some good lamb shank, seafood pasta and ribs - let's not forget the wine. The service has become a little average but everyone is still quite friendly. For the prices, I really would appreciate a waiter that can recommend something on the list and as well as what wine to pair it with, just a thought.

I'm often sceptical of ordering seafood at a grill place. To my surprise the prawns and calamari were devine and priced right abd the cucumber mojito was amazing. I would like another one but im responsible so I will behave.
