Review Piatto Restaurant - Alberton

Went with my partner on their birthday and we were welcomed and greeted warmly and could select where we wanted to sit. It was pouring rain and chilly so we chose to sit in front of the fire place. The restaurant was warm and we were even warmer where we were sitting that we even moved our table back a bit. We ordered cocktails and food. Food was amazing… tasty! The cocktails were great except for 1 which didn’t taste that great(and that could just be my preference, someone else may enjoy it). Service was also good. We were informed that it’s almost closing time however we’re not rushed. It was my partners bday and he got ice cream and they sang for him as well. I’m going back!

Good steak 500g Sirloin with chips on special for R149.00, it was nice and tender just a bit bland. Wife had the chicken schnitzel and said it was good.

Beautiful Piatto, visited with my 13 year old for prawns and the prawns were perfect. My chips however weren't so nice. The lady that served us was very nice from the onset, but didn't say thank you after payment, in fact didn't even have a smile, I assumed my R22 tip was not pleasing enough for her and had I known that before hand I wouldn't have tipped at all since that R22 could have bought me a loaf of bread! Otherwise this wasn't my last visit. Oh and by the way the Chai was perfect and the weather agreed!

What a great restaurant. The food was delicious. The drinks were amazing. Had a few tables booked for a baby shower. The planner was able to come in and set out the most amazing decor. The service was excellent. I went again to Piatto and this time it was a very bad experience. The cocktails were very weak I complained about it but nothing was done about it. I had the nachos as a starter and they were terrible. No more.

Had a great lunch at Piatto. The Paradiso calzone was excellent and the Oriental wok was very tasty. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, attentive and friendly service and delicious food at good portions. Clean ablution facilities, smoking area and covered outdoor seating available. Kids play area. Lots of guarded parking available. Vegetarian options available.

Food are Devine. Nice outside seating and staff are friendly.

We had such a great meal suggest all there pasta dishes. Children enjoyed them selves as they were very entertained with the play area. Our waiter was polite and so efficient. Overall great experience.

Great food, best service, to be visited again soon with friends next time, just when serving prawns, side dish can do.

Excellent service, great food and drinks. Great environment for a relaxed time out alone or with company. The desert menu could do with some improvements though, especially the cheese cake.

I would recommend Piatto Alberton any day. The food is absolutely delish even so it impressed family taken out for lunch. Keep up the great job.

Great place with great food. Though it's not nice having to leave your table to look for a waiter because they forgot to bring Tabasco sauce. Waiters should remain within eye sight, but they were all at the door.

Terrible service. <br/>Decided to make a reservation as it was valentines day , arrived at my reservation time and got told there are no available tables. What’s the point of a reservation then ? <br/>Had to wait to get seated. Eventually decided to go to adega right next door , best decision yet . Best prawns and steak and great service . Got seated immediately without reservation on valentines day . Highly recommend adega !!!

ive generally have a good time here...,  always because it is so cosy except tonight , ive ordered a calzone which includes mushrooms , everything was made and cooked as it should be,  except the mushrooms <br/> i had no problems with this until the manager/ assistant  manager  said next time i should make it clear and  ask that i must  make sure the mushroom  are cooked he made this very clearly .....which i could not  understand ... i can understand under cook or over cook but saw mushrooms that was placed into my calzone. This is unacceptable..... just for this little reason i want to go  some  where else .. stupid .. manager  / line manager get ure shit together

I had a quite disastrous experience here , I went out for lunch with the family and craved some seafood , as I told my mom I think I’m going to have the calamari she told me “I don’t think you should take a chance with the seafood here” I didn’t listen and ordered calamari anyway . When I got back home later on that day I got food poisoning and it was the worst I have ever felt . This is a big problem especially when my mom has to warn me about your seafood .

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I love the staff, they’re like family to me. The food is consistently good. They have the best pizzas in town. I love love love Piatto 💜

Good service and good food! The thing I like most about Piatto Alberton is the vibe. It's nice and relaxing, ideal for a good meal with friends and family.

Very nice resturant the service was good and sushi was very well priced and fresh. The resturant is open on Sunday till late. Very well run piatto. Keep it up guys

Decided on a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Piatto was rather quiet but the staff were eager to serve and our waiter was on the ball! Decided to have something different rather than the usual sushi i have there, tried a deconstructed beef shawarma and it was a good choice the humus was delish and could not get enough of the pita bread with tzatziki 😍😍 meat was also nice and tender! Pity its a special hope they add it to their menu! Overall an enjoyable meal.

Piatto in Johannesburg!!!<br/><br/>Great food and a great atmosphere.<br/>My family and I had ordered a pasta which is sort of a soupy pasta which was different to try from the usual.<br/>I had ordered a lasagna which was very cheesy and the cheese was thick, I was only like eating like thick cheese, I was not able to finish my dish and felt a bit sick. <br/>I suggest to try the usual pasta and pizza that you know, you will enjoy.<br/>

Had nice Beef fillet here. Service not too bad, great ambience. Food just needs more flavour. They are generous with their Sangria and not too much fruit in it.

The reason why I like this place is the fact that I can have a meal with my family and my two boys can play outside in the play area which is a win for me as most restaurants hardly accommodate kids. so if you want a reasonable decent meal and a place to accommodate your kids then visit this place. Staff is always friendly and their long island ice tea is divine.

Piatto New Redruth is right around the corner but I would only go there if I really had to. The service is slow and comes with a bit of attitude. Food is bland and not worth the calories, safe bet is a salad and that's also a gamble.

A really awesome place to go to. Their breakfast special you get what you pay for and it's budget friendly. Their food is amazing. You have to try the pepadew steak. Made my mouth water just looking at it. I agree the service is a bit slow everytime I go there whether it's quiet or not however the staff and managers are super friendly. Definitely worth going back!

The food will never grow old or never disappoint. However, the service was a bit slow but that was due to being extremely full. They have all the classic wines to round of a delightful meal. Will always go back even if it is only for jalopeno poppers.

It's a great place for Sunday sundowners, I had an amazing meal the Sirloin pepperdew yooohh, it's definately a must have... Piatto was a pleasant suprise

Awesome timely service, I had a steak, egg & chips, while my partner had a & Hake & Chips, both meals were absolutely well prepared, will def be returning soon.

My visit here was a while back and wasn't anything too 'stand outish'. The food was ok, I just remember that the service wasn't too speedy, which is manageable when you have good company and a great play place for the kids, which for me always boosts ratings.

Piatto is a home away from home. Just chilled & relaxed. The service is lovely, always friendly. There is a small kiddies area outside. They serve a little focaccia bread basket to start you off.. <br/>There steaks are tasty. Also enjoy there wraps & burgers. My son loves there spaghetti! Strawberry daiquiri's are delicious

Okay so I went to dinner with my mom tonight...normally Piatto is our first choice, so there we go. Piatto really is known for their amazingly comfort food. However, tonight I did find cardboard in my chicken. As soon as I said something about it they apologized and immediately ensured that I had a fresh plate with no cardboard. Great service once again, just check your food next time 😊

My cousin and I visit this restaurant quite a bit - its got a real nice atmosphere and the staff are always so friendly. <br/><br/>I think the food is just a bit average though but they do have some nice specials for those who are like me and are ballin' on a budget.<br/><br/>I took Thando here for breakfast and we had a good time - we found ourselves asking for our waiter on quite a few occasions... I don't like looking around and the person serving us is nowhere to be found.

Made a reservation for Mother's day a week in advance for brunch. Sadly the greeting we got wasn't up to par, lady at the counter was rude and the table we reserved had been changed. I was really disappointed, we had to wait another 15mins for a table. Not the service we were expecting at all:( On the upside our meals were very tasty and arrived on time. I ordered the camembert starter and open steak sandwich. The camembert starter was wonderful, the cranberry and basil complimented the cheese really well. The open steak sandwich was great, me steak was perfectly cooked and well presented. A note to all though, the starters are quite large and the mains are even larger so come hungry.

My favourite place to dine. Wonderful if you're looking for a quiet evening with good food. Staff is friendly and does not forget about you.

I had breakfast here this morning and I had a few bad encounters. The plate my food was served on was not balanced and it wobbled terribly(never had this problem before-plate was warped). Ordered some extras which did not arrive with my breakfast & arrived much later after asking. The breakfast had also been kept for far to long under the warmer as the eggs which I ordered as medium came hard due to the plate being so hot from the warmer and the meal sitting under the warmer to long. After being asked how the meal was the manager did correct everything very quickly and I left having enjoyed my meal :)

This is rather a late post as I came here a few months ago, I was invited by friends for a dinner. The service was quiet pleasant and if I compared the quality of food to the Piatto at Stoneridge, this is miles better. The ambiance is more family orientated and kids are able to play in an area in the back. Many people tend to go there for afternoon drinks after a hard day of work. The quality of food was good. Not overly impressed and wouldn't be way up there of restaurants I would want to visit again.. its like been there done that..

I must confess my disappointment. I have been to this branch a few times and each time remind myself not to come back. Service is lacking in speed and spunk and the food is ok but inconsistent. I can't help feeling that they are doing me a big favour for letting me in the door...today I even had to ask for service and a menu.<br/>

I was starving but far too lazy to make lunch so on my way back from some errands I phoned in a take away order via the Zomato app. Awesome! We arrived within 15 min and our food was ready. Deliciously prepared and fresh. All the yumminess of a meal out at home. My only issue - take away pasta in tinfoil before being placed in the polestyrene box - a mission to plate in the kitchen.

Service is decent but the food is not. The food is consistently subpar. I don't recommend eating here.

Always very friendly staff! The food is nice but nothing special - lacks that special identity. Nice place for a quick unplanned eat-out:-)

Following in the Piatto trend, I was disappointed in this Piatto. I have been twice. Both times the service was slow. The second time, was meant to be a birthday celebration and was instead a disaster. Food took long, and was cold and not anything like the menu description. I had a 'stuffed fillet', although it appeared someone had actually eaten the stuffing while it was waiting forever) to get to my table. Not cool.

Piattos are very pretty restaurants, the decorations are modern and I like the feel of the place. The outside area is great for an afternoon lunch but generally gets quite chilly after that. The chicken pizza I had there wasn't the best, it tasted a bit bland and there was a bit too much cheese. They make great spicy pregos though on the other hand, so avoid their pizzas and your evening should be a success. Its a nice place for date-nights as it is generally quite quiet.

Beautiful decor. Food was fine. Waiters friendly.
