We were craving seafood one night and decided to try this place. Super loved it! The food was great. We had sushi and fish with chips and rice. No complaints about anything, the food was great! David really took care of us. Thank you for making our first time here a great experience. Will be definitely be back to try more scrumptious food❤️

The food at this place is incredible. I don't know how they do it but literally everything I ordered was amazing. It's very kid friendly. My boyfriend and I went here on a date, one of my colleagues recommended it, I must say I was not disappointed. I'm from the Eastrand so it was a bit of a drive but wow was it worth it. The food is affordable and like out of this world and the service was great. There is a smoking area. I highly recommend getting the Garlic bread (cheddarmelt) and the tuna sushi burger. I also got the calamari and dessert. I ordered way too much food and it was totally worth it. Thank you for the experience and I will most definitely be back.

These guys are absolutely amazing! The food is excellent, and we can quite easily say this is the top 3 on our list, including restaurants in Cape Town. This is our go-to for seafood especially, and we will be ordering from you guys again and again (as we have been lately). Really affordable, and the neatest most quality take away containers you can imagine! Very professional service and scrumptious food.

Friendly staff and good food. Good value for money with decent portion sizes. The food is always fresh and service is quick. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare, but it shares a parking lot with many other shops. The breakfast special is pretty good, and the Wednesday fish and chip special is also great value.

I always love taking my family to this restaurant. The owner/manager knows every customer and often greets them by name. The staff pays special attention to details and are very helpful and attentive. The chef makes the most amazing seafood dishes from the freshest ingredients always. Thank you Rock n Sole!!

Firstly the food is excellent! The prices are great too! A good comparison would be Ocean Basket in terms of taste- very similar recipe if not the same. The prices however are much better than OB. The reason for the 4 stars is because they have no booking system at all. I went on Mother’s Day so it was quite busy and it was abit of a nightmare getting a table, but eventually I managed to get one and it was worth the havoc in the end! (My prawns were abit sticky to the shell but I think that was just because they were extremely busy on the day) The service and speed was very good considering how busy they were. Overall brilliant, just get a booking system for busy occasions.

Food is awesome. Platter for 1, actually is the size of a platter for 2. The Basa is the best fish I have ever tasted in a restaurant. Brilliantly priced. Service can be a bit slow at times but mainly due to how busy they were.

It's a great seafood restaurant in Randhart. The service is great, and the waiters are very friendly and efficient. The management is always around. The food is very well prepared and presented. The atmosphere is great and it is a great experience. Enjoy your visit.

My Money Can get finished by this restaurant. The best Sushi I have ever tasted and mind you I have eaten Sushi all over the country. Fresh, Tasty , Worth every penny

Nothing can be taken away from this Gem of a restuarant. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Our waiter was Brian he was very helpful beyond measure. We celbrated my wifes birthday there. Table all set. Everything was just flawless. The food was to die for, well priced, prawns grilled to perfection and the t-bone steak was was world class. Kudos to everyone at Rock n Sole you rocked our Souls. A definate must try.👌👏👏👏 Thanks a million.

My husband and myself had lunch there yesterday, 30 August to celebrate his birthday. We ordered fried Haloumi cheese for starters and it was over fried! Waited ages for the waiter. Ordered Fancy fish with lemon butter, fries for my husband and salad for myself. Eventually the food came but the order was wrong. Both plates had fish and chips, no lemon butter. So later the lemon butter came, and even later a salad bowl that had hacked pieces of tomato and cucumber. Couldn't cut the tomato with the blunt knives. I spoke to the manager on duty (Peter wasn't there) and said how dissapointed we were at the bad service. The worst part is that the restaurant was not busy at half past eleven when we arrived. Will not go there again soon!

I came here for dinner with my dad last night the food was excellent. They have this sushi burger which is a gourmet delight. The reason why I gave it a 3 is because of their dessert and their frozen drinks. I believe that if they can improve their shakes and desserts then they would get full marks from me. Thanks for the great experience though.

The salmon sushi burger is the most amazing dish! It is our favourite favourite. The textures and flavours balance beautifully. Please always keep serving this one?

Best seafood I’ve had in a LONG time. The prawns were a bit salty but not unpalatable, my calamari was grilled to perfection and the side salad was the best salad I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It wasn’t just full of lettuce, it was fresh with a significant portion of feta. I finished it before I indulged into my prawn and calamari combo. Our waiter was a bit arrogant, brought us non-alcoholic champagne and when we told him he was pretty sassy and had a bit of an attitude but later apologized when he returned and realized his mistake, the manager apologized as well. I’m definitely going back, if not for anything then definitely for the salad

Meal took a while to come...sushi bay was quite busy however, the manager and waiters kept us updated and always very apologetic. One can still see the resemblance of Ocean Basket(OB) on their servings and sauces. If you enjoy OB, you will enjoy R&S. Certainly value for money. One can pay using Zapper a facility which I enjoy.

This place is my absolute fave!! My number one go to spot for my weekly seafood fix. I've been a regular customer for the last 5 years. The food is really amazing, I always order a platter for one with hake, prawns, calamari, squid heads, mussels and salad. The food is always fresh and tasty and portions are big, I can never finish in one sitting. Service is top notch, the staff are always so helpful and really go out of their way to cater to you. The owners are also really friendly and always visible. This place is truly a little gem of the South. Love it!

Rock 'n Sole is the best place to get seafood thats not close to the sea. But they have amazing steaks too. I dont eat seafood anywhere else in Jozi

We order take-aways on a regular basis. Good service with friendly staff. And good food and value for money. Management always present and checking. A well run restaurant. Keep up the great work guys. Less than R60 for fish and chips - large portion 😊

This one is definitely worth a try, the service is friendly and fast. Everything we ordered was great, tender and tasty... probably some of the best seafood we have had in a while

I used to love this place but the standard has completely dropped. <br/>My prawns were under cooked, the calamari was like rubber, I even had a rotting piece of lemon on top of it all. I am very sad to say this place has disappointed me more than once. I won't be going back.

My favourite place unfortunately really really disappointed me on my birthday. Monday evening I just wanted my favourite - Sushi Burger! After two tries I left without dinner. The manager offered me a free dessert, but I didn't even have dinner. The waitress had no clue what she was doing. Really disappointed Rock 'n Sole, and the Owner was sitting around chatting to people. <br/>The Stand-by chef had no idea how to make the Sushi Burger Sauce... <br/><br/>Old review 8 months ago <br/>Friendly service. Such a good expierenc and pleasure to have a Sundag lunch with family here. Reasonably price. Good quality and fresh food.... even the steak is amazing as my husband loves his meat. My daughter litteraly wanted to lick the pan of the saucy garlic roll. Very good service and the Manager is so humble and caring. Well done! Very impressed. Keep it up. We will definitely return soon.

My daughter has been raving about Rock and sole for a wile now so we decided to try them and see for ourselves. When we arrived we received a very friendly greeting by the staff and were shown to a table, the waitress was very friendly and service was prompt. Our starters were  divine especially the cream cheese prawns. My wife ordered a sirloin steak and my daughter a platter for one both were very happy with their food, I ordered the prawn fiesta and this to was divine. all in all it was great, My daughter was right this place is great , will definitely be back. BIG thumbs up.

Well done Rock n Sole Meyersdal. Good menu which was value for money. Enjoyed the venue. I felt safe and secure. It was not far to travel. Good service provided with very fresh meal.

I was really looking forward to a good fish shop close by. Unfortunately I was not impressed, service is slow and waiters are missing from sight for long periods of time. The food is not great at all, portions are generous but hake is tough and dry (didn't know that could happen). Prawns are over cooked and difficult to de-shell.

First time we went there the food wasn't great at all, chips were undercooked and the fish over cooked, prawns were mushy. Anyways we decided to give it another try and boy am I glad we did. Prawns were amazing, had vegetables rather this time and was so yummy! Had a steak and it melted in my mouth and was so juicy! Our waiter was awesome and super friendly, always smiling and trying to help. Everything I ate and drank was just superb! I guess we all have our bad days. Will definitely be a returning customer!

Great seafood restaurant. Have been here on various occasions and the food is always fresh. Lovely place to take family or friends. Staff friendly and a good vibe. Definitely value for money with good portions

Great upgrade from the previously ocean basket. Decor is crisp and welcoming. Similar portion sizes to ocean basket, but different menu. The change is a breath of fresh air. Prices are average to higher that ocean basket, but can be expected. The kingklip is a must as well as the calamari. Wine list has all the classics with decent prices. Will visit again soon.

Upon an evening of no electricity, we decided to try Rock 'n Sole. <br/>The service was awesome! I didn't expect much from Rock 'n Sole but I was pleasantly surprised! We were warmly greeted by all staff and shown to a table where our drink orders were taken. Great wine prices I must add!<br/>I had oysters for starters and my mister had sushi. On a Monday the sushi is 25% less.<br/>The oysters were too good! Creamy and tasty! And the sushi was also fresh and yum!! <br/>We ordered the platter for 2 for our main, which was really really good! A good amount of food for the price. I must just mention, the sauce flavours could have been a bit more delicate for the soft seafood flavours. I think some of the flavour was a bit lost.<br/>I think all the food is really reasonably priced, and they also have a specials menu.<br/>Great dinner out, we will definitely be back!

High quality hake fish and chips. Very fresh and flakey. I couldn't taste the peri peri flavour in mine but the quality of the fish made up for that. <br/><br/>Mediterranean sushi was also well made.<br/><br/>Overall good service, very affordable prices and efficient staff.

Good different! It's nice to find a new fish restaurant that's not part of the usual "chain of fish restaurants." The menu had a lot to choose from and leaned more towards Greek cuisine with regards to there traditional village salads #lovethem and the desserts. I tried the mussel & prawn combo and was not disappointed! This looked as good as it tasted🐟🐟🐟 My fiancé tried the hake and calamari and was licking the plate clean, well ... So to speak. The service is good. The restaurant has a rustic/Mediterranean vibe to it. It was a great place to take the whole family.

Best seafood place in the south of joburg if not the whole of joburg. It was packed but the service was amazing, I had avo and prawn for a starter and Basa with prawns and calamari for my main meal.. the best I ever had<br/>

The food is average and the cost is reasonable. The manager however needs to learn how to treat customers. My son requested the WiFi password from the waiter, however the manager refused to offer the password after I watched him offer it to other patrons. He was completely unfriendly and made us feel very unwelcome. In my view quality of food is secondary requirement when dining out. A friendly experience is definetly primary. Will definitely not be back purely because of the managers poor customer service.

This is by far the best ocean Basket myself and my family have had meals at. Awesome food, friendly staff and great management. It feels like home. The food is always fresh and their food is always made to perfection. They consistently good with their service and the food always tastes fresh and to the best standard. Sushi took some time however it was fantastic. We also had some calamari, prawns, mussels and fish. All was fresh and tender. Other branches does not compare to Meyersdal's quality and freshness standards.

I really feel at home going to this particular outlet! Their food is always fresh and tasty. Their staff greet us like we are family and have taken the time to memorize what I like to eat and drink. <br/>This not only creates a homely vibe but shows how much they really care.<br/>This is well worth a visit in the neighborhood.

I haven't eaten there at the restaurant and have ordered take away sushi only. Their sushi is fresh and pretty standard. They have accommodated some of the changes I requested which is ok. They have delivered to my workplace a few times and didn't take time at all. So yes, I would recommend it.

This is by far my favourite Ocean Basket that I have been to. They are consistently good with their service and the food always tastes fresh and delicious... I have found that the different franchises aren't always consistent and their food can be a real disaster. <br/><br/>They are always busy - because they are that good - don't be alarmed if you have to put your name on a waiting list, because their service is fast you don't have to wait you long.
