Review River Front Restaurant - Addo

Delicious and fresh food. The staff (or at least the chef) wasn't very friendly, even though we were the only customers and they should have been somewhat happier to have some guests here..

4 of us went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it was great. The location is very nice. The restaurant filled up after we arrived and it was atmospheric. The food was delicious. We each had a different type of meat and the vegetables from the garden were awesome. We had a lovely afternoon.

Great restaurant! The food is fresh and the vegetables coming from the garden. Beautiful river view, and big garden for kids to play and really nice owners. Try the garden salad, delicious!! The great break after a day to Addo Park

A lovely rustic spot off the beaten track set in a beautiful garden overlooking the river. The food was top notch with vegetables grown in the restaurant's own garden. Food was served in a very timely fashion. Although mostly a meat lover's selection of food, they do provide delicious vegetarian options. Friendly owners. Would visit again.

Nice place to eat and amazing view from the terrace. The straight way to get there is quite sketchy during night time, there is another way to get there which is slightly longer but seems to be safer.

What an incredible find! The food and particularly the vegetables (from the garden) is incredible. Stunning views over the Sundays River, highly recommended.

If you're staying in Addo, do not hesitate to have dinner at River Front Restaurant. The meat is absolutely incredible. I loved the Wildebeest and my partner was very fond of the Kudu. Also the veggies were an amazing addition! This had been one of my favourite meals during my stay in South Africa. If you are allergic to cats you might have to stay away, there are a couple walking around in and around the restaurant. The cats are friendly and are ready for your attention!

Great food, high quality, European standard without the fuss. All veggies grown from their own garden. A gem during our road trip. Beautiful view, try to catch sunset! Also stayed at the lovely lodge on the same premise.

My personal favourite restaurant in South Africa. It is actually a barn. But they set it up so nicely and with a beautiful view over the river. When you enter the restaurant, you actually walk through the garden and see the veggies you gonna eat. Awesome! The owners are lovely people. You immediately feel like at home with Mum and Dad. There is even a sofa with TV where you can sit with them and watch football. The dessert was wicked - be warned - you will be addicted. I had a Kudu steak - very nice experience as well. We ate here twice (lunch and dinner) and had a great time!

Can't say enough about our experience here. The staff, the vibe, the view, the menu - all amazing! From our broccoli soup and handmade hummus starters, to perfectly prepared springbok and kudu filets accompanied by more fresh vegetables than you can imagine, this was one of the best meals we had in our two-week trip to South Africa. It's a must-stop if you're in the Addo area.

Fresh, organic, DELICIOUS food straight from the garden (I saw Hayley picking our salad when I arrived!) with a spectacular, tranquil view of the Sundays River and bushveld. A real treat �

Hands down the best wholesome, flavorful, well balanced and thought out menu! My starter and main meal was tasty and succulent. Not to mention a wonderful vibe and authentic African feel!

We are so glad we decided to stop in here for lunch today! After checking out the other mediocre restaurants in the area, this one definitely stands out by a mile. The wonderful owners showed us incredible hospitality, brought us warm drinks, set our kids up with entertainment, and helped us choose some incredible food. The ostrich was perfectly cooked and served up with TEN different veggie sides. All so delicious! We ate with a gorgeous view over the river and the rain pounding down on the roof overhead, then the sun came out and we wandered through the front garden (our daughter loved the chickens!). A very special experience that I highly recommend if you’re in the area!
